A/N: Hey ya'll! It's Kuro-chan here with the next chappie for the Golden Shadow! I'm terribly sorry for the long wait. I've been swamped with college. I've also been trying to ensure I update my other stuff too. Ust be patient, oks? Hehes, this is one of the stories I consider as one of my ultimate favorites of doom. I mean I have a variety of conflicts within it for the plot. So, some people wonder why it's important for Naruto to have kids, right? Well, that's one of the conflicts I have planned because it'll either make or break it for those of Tsunagakure. Anyways, enough of me blathering on. Let's get to the chappie, shall we? Please R&R!
Chapter 8
When Sakura had been guided by Ino she marveled at the various sights below water. It hadn't been her first time, but it had been her first about being led by a beautiful mermaid. The rosette did have to admit she felt a strong attraction towards the bleach blonde haired woman. She wondered if it would be ok for her to know of the whereabouts of the kingdom. After a while of traveling, Ino stopped. Turning around, she easily grabbed Sakura's attention. Unbeknownst to Sakura, Ino had an alterior motive for luring her down below the depths. She has wanted her for quite a while as well.
"Why did we stop?" asked Sakura, a little nervous as she checked her air valv gauge to notice she had only used a small amount so far.
"Well, I need to confess a few things to you," admitted Ino, drawing in a bit closer to the human woman until they're only a few inches apart. "If I bring in a human from the surface world I'll be in big trouble, but if I bring you to the sea witch she can turn you into one of us if I persuade her well enough. I didn't have to for Naruto because he has family roots within our folk."
"Anything else?" asked Sakura, growing a little suspicious of what other things Ino hadn't told her about. "I understand why they'd be wary of an outsider."
Ino gathered her courage before cupping Sakura's face in her hands. Her cheeks turned a dark shade of crimson, having a good idea where this seemed to be going. She didn't mind it. When Ino leaned in to press her lips against the rosette's, Sakura closed her eyes before pressing back. It wasn't easy with the gear on her, but she managed it somehow. When the two parted, they were both blushing a little bit. Averting her eyes, Sakura regained her composure. Ino did as well, but she felt pleased with herself that she did it.
"T-That's the only other thing," said Ino quietly, looking down.
Sakura palced a finger under Ino's chin, having her gently raise her head to look at her in the eyes, "Don't be ashamed of doing it, Ino. I really liked having you kiss me. Maybe we could go to the sea witch?"
"If she knew of our feelings she'll probably be more incline to help," mused Ino, sharpening her resolve. "Ok, let's go!"
Nodding, Sakura followed her. She felt butterflies flying around in her stomach. She had never really had a crush on anyone before. Yet, the way Ino and her clashed worked for them. Being able to keep pace with her, they eventually arrived at Anko's cave. Raising a brow, the dark haired woman hadn't expected to see Ino again. She wondered why another human is with her. When she saw how the two acted around each other it seemed simple enough for her to figure it out.
"I see," murmured Anko, rummaging through her potions to see if she had enough for the spell. "This should work. It's the same one I used for Naruto, but it's different since I'm doing this on a female. I've only turned a mermaid into a human, but the reverse shouldn't be too difficult. Lie down on the slab. You'll be out for a while, but when you wake you may go to the kingdom with Ino to find your friend."

Groaning quietly to himself, Naruto pulled himself up into a sitting position when he woke later. His body felt extremely sore. He hoped this transformation would last long enough. Biting his lower lip, he knew that he'd have to trust Anko. Blinking a few times, he realized when he moved Sasuke had one of his arms snaked around him. Blushing, he stared into those twin onyx orbs.
"Hi," squeaked out Naruto in surprise.
"Hn," greeted Sasuke in response, releasing him. "Come, I should show you around the castle as well as the garden outside. Afterwards, we'll have a meal with my brother and his mate."
Having his hand grabbed in one of Sasuke's cool hands caused him to blush. Sasuke tugged him along without a care. They exited his room first, closing the door behind them. The ravenette already knew Naruto had seen the throne room. They walked down a long hallway that weaved here and there. Eventually, they arrived in what seemed to be what's used for gatherings or dances. Glancing around, Naruto felt amazed by the décor. It looked to be adorned with a variety of colors. Exiting it, Sasuke showed him around some more. Eventually, they walked outside of the castle into a coral garden. It consisted of ones that are blue, green, purple, orange, red, etc. Settling down on a bench comprised of an interesting type of stone, they took a small respite.
"Do you like it so far?" inquired Sasuke, secretly wanting to impress the blonde as he did want to treat his mate right even he did it in his own way.
"Yep, I'm amazed by it all," gushed Naruto enthusiastically. "It's what my mother had told me about in her stories."
"Oh?" asked Sasuke, quirking a brow to signal the blonde to elaborate.
"Um, well I grew up outside of the kingdom," he hastily explained, but Sasuke seemed to accept his explanation. "I've never seen this place in person before."
"I'm pleased you aren't disappointed," chuckled Sasuke lightly, feeling Naruto rest his head on his shoulder. "Hopefully I didn't wear you out too much from earlier."
"Nah, I'm fine," assured Naruto, giving him a slight smile even though he did feel a little nauseous for some odd reason. "When should we go back inside?"
"In a few moments or so," assured Sasuke, wanting his mate to take in the view while they rested here for a little while. "Do you miss your home?"
"A little bit," he admitted, a sorrowful glimmer entered his eyes from the mmeories of the past resurfacing. "Can we talk about something else?"
"Alright," obliged Sasuke, noticing Naruto's mood shift which did worry him.
"What's your brother like?" asked Naruto, wondering what Sasuke would be willing to tell him.
"Nii-san is different compared to me," Sasuke admitted, stiffening slightly at the subject. "Yet, he's calm and collected. He knows what to say to make things happen. I mean he's supposed to be the next ruler of the kingdom after all. He needs to know how to conduct matters in an effective way."
Seeing a blue haired merman approach them, the male bowed to them both before he said, "Hey, Sasuke! Your brother sent me out here to fetch you and your mate. Geez, I would think he'd send someone else instead of me on this errand."
"Relax, Suigetsu. Let's go then," waved off Sasuke, rising from the seat with the blonde to follow him until they arrived in the dining hall.
"Ah, so this is Naruto? Hn, I've heard quite a bit about you. Sasuke has probably told you a little about me. I'm Itachi Uchiha, Prince of Tsunagakure, and the next in line for the throne."
