/N: Hey ya'll! It's Kuro-chan here with the next chappie of the Golden Shadow! Hehes, hopefully ya'll enjoyed what happened last time. I think it'll be interesting for you lovelies to see what occurs next. What? I ain't giving you crazies any spoilers. *scowls* Hehes, enough of me being a silly neko. I hope ya'll enjoy this chappie. Chapter 5
A few hours later, Naruto stirred from unconsciousness. He slowly awoke, blinking his eyes a few times when he opened them to lear his vision. Once it focused he propped himself on his elbows. Glancing around, he noticed Ino was still there. Anko was sitting idly by, waiting until the blonde came back to his senses. He glanced down, noticing he had a golden tail. His scales were a mix of black and red. The tips of his fins were a dark shade of red. He also had his seal markings down his stomach which had the design of a foxfire flame with nine tails. The cloth he had made before was still there. Sighing in relief, he felt comforted by that. Glancing over at the two women, he noticed Anko seemed pleased with herself while Ino stared in astonishment from the end result of the witch's spell.
"How do you feel?" asked Anko in a calm manner.
"Good, I guess," shrugged Naruto, testing out his tail. "How does it look?"
"You remind me of her," replied Ino thoughtfully. "And him."
"Thanks," Naruto smiled sadly, treading carefully as he tried to test out his new appendage.
"You should leave with Ino. She'll be missing from her post. The king and queen will be wondering where she went," informed Anko. "Oh, I almos forgot, you may find the one you're looing for soon."
Ino bit her lip, looking away as she knew what the witch was talking about, "I hope so."
"Um, am I doing this right?" asked Naruto sheepishly as he seemed to be moving about well enough even though he seemed a little wobbly.
"Yep, you'll get used to it with practice," grinned Ino, grabbing his hand. "You just keep trying to use your tail. I'll tug you back to the gates with me."
"Ok," agreed Naruto, casting an appreciative glance towards the witch. "Thanks, Anko."
"You're welcome. It was my pleasure to meet you," Anko gave him a light smile. "Be careful out there, kid."
"I'll try," grinned Naruto before he was pulled out of the cavern, beginning the travel back to whence they came.

"Where have you been?" hissed Gaara when Ino returned to the palace. "I've been waiting to end my shift."
"Pfft, I had more important things to do," huffed Ino. "Plus I brought him with me."
Gaara raised a brow, "Who?"
"I think she's taling about me," piped up Naruto, showing himself to the redhead, knowing he couldn't use his real last name amongst the rest of the merfolk. "I'm Naruto Arashi."
Ino nodded in affirmation to assure him giving the first name wouldn't put him in danger, "Yep, you know how the rulers are worried about how Prince Sasuke doesn't hae a mate, right?"
"Yes…are you sure this guy could be the one for him?" asked Gaara, a little skeptical about who the bleach blonde haired woman had brought for the task.
"Of course," scoffed Ino, tugging Naruto into the throne room, brushing aside Gaara, knowing he was giving her a hrash glare since she hasn't brought him the person he desired yet. "My lords, I brought you someone that may appease one of the problems you're dealing with right now."
"Hn, I see," mused Madara, looking Naruto up and down with a piercing stare as if he could see right through the blonde. "Which matter would that be?"
"Finding your son a sutiable mate," clarified Ino.
"Wait, I didn't agree to this," grumbled Naruto, but thought that it may help to bring peace between the merfolk and humans.
"Well, this one seems interesting," murmured Nagato. "Have Gaara bring Sasuke here."
"Yes, your highness," bowed Ino before she swam out, leaving Naruto with the king and queen.
Naruto shifted nervously. He wasn't sure what to say to them. He isn't allowed to reveal who he truly is. He doesn't want to put himself into any danger. He decided to keep silent on that aspect of himself. In the back of his mind, he felt amazed to be meeting his mother's parents. He hoped he didn't cause them to become suspicious of him. He could tell the king and queen of Tsunagakure were fearsome if provoked. They seem like the type who wouldn't back down if their kingdom and people were at risk of being harmed.
"So, you think he'll suffice for Sasuke?" asked Nagato to his mate, breaking the somewhat tense silence between them.
Madara shrugged, "We'll see. I doubt it, but Sasuke can surprise us at times. Perhaps after the first impressions he may grow a fancy for him."
"Um, I'm right here you know," sighed Naruto, irritated at being talked about as if he weren't even there.
Nagato smiled, "I know. Excuse my husband, he can be a bit of a grouch sometimes."
"Watch it," warned the obsidian haired male, glaring lightly at the redhead.
While they engaged in light banter, Ino returned with the prince, "Your majesties, I brought your son."
"Good," smirked Madara, knowing it could be a hassle sometimes to bring Sasuke when they needed to speak with him or if he needed to be present for something. "Sasuke, meet your new mate. Do as you please with him."
Sasuke glanced over at the blonde, raising a brow which then turned to him licking his lips when he gained a further examination of the blonde, "Hn, interesting…."
"Hey, I'm not some piece of meat," scowled Naruto.
"Heh, he won't be boring," commented Sasuke, grabbing the blonde by the arm to tug him out of the room into the hallway.
"I didn't say you were dismissed, but I suppose so. Good luck," said the king to the two as a farewell as they departed from the throne room, chuckling lightly in a pleased manner to see they had chosen someone right for him after such a long time.
"Um, where are you taking me?" asked Naruto nervously, wary of the ravenette.
"My room,' was all the response he'd receive from Sasuke, following him to where the prince's quarters were situated.
Sasuke opened the door to his room, shoving Naruto inside. He closed the door quietly behind them. Hearing the bolt hit home, the blonde swallowed hard. He didn't know what to expect by being locked in here with him. He guessed Sasuke was going to court him or something. Naruto couldn't help feeling a bit nervous about all of this. He thought things were moving too quickly. He needed to find something to ground himself so he didn't become lost. Seeing the look Sasuke was giving him caused a shudder to rush down his spine. No one had ever given him such a gaze before. Well, that might not be entirely true. He's ignored all of the wanting looks people have given him. He didn't find any interest of people on the surface. He knew he belonged in the sea.
"Father and mother said you're my mate, correct?" asked Sasuke, his voice dropping down slightly. "So, let's see what I can persuade you to be mine."
"Wait, isn't this moving too fast?" blurted out Naruto, blushing a furious shade of crimson, confused about the feelings spurred by Sasuke's advance, falling on his back onto the bed to stare up into the prince's onyx orbs.
"No, I think this is moving just fine," smirked Sasuke, his lips mere inches apart from Naruto's. "Besides I'm not giving you a choice. They said you're my mate. There's nothing else that can help you step back from this. I smell royal blood in you as well. There's something about you I want to know more of. So, here's what we'll do. You'll stay in here with me. I'll attempt to court you. If I fail then we do things your way. Does that sound fair?"
Naruto hesitated for a moment until his resolve sharpened, "Alright…..I'll accept those terms."
A/N: Yays! Done with chappie five! I know it's short, but I want to ensure people will want to read more of this. I ahd planned giving the merfolk kingdom a different name than what I put, but then again I can use it for another plot mechanism later. I hope everyone is enjoying this so far. Hehes, yeah there will be eventual lemons. I don't know when they'll occur, but they will. I just want to give this somewhat of a slow burn in a sense. Anyways, enough of me blathering on. (Oh and the reason why the name is different is because I'm copying and pasting my stuff from ffn and/or wattpad page when I used to go by Kuro in case anyone is confused or whatever).
