A/N: Hey ya'll! It's Kuro-chan here with chappie two of the Golden Shadow! Hehes, I hope ya'll are adoring the story so far. I know I sure am, but then again I'm the one writing this lovely piece of epicness. I have stuff planned out for this. Lol, I'm so excited for ya'll to see what happens this time. I hope everyone enjoys it. Please R&R!
Chapter 2
When Naruto left the crow's nest, he felt kind of happy. He had gained a new friend. He had lost so many after both of his parent perished. He hadn't want to grow close to anyone until now. He felt as if he were at peace while being so close to the sea. He descend the stairs, going below deck until he found the door which would lead to his quarters. His stuff was already in there. He had ordered stuff to his liking earlier that day. After stripping off everything except his boxers after closing the door shut, he slipped into his bed. He turned on his side, wondering if he'd receive another dream like the ones he's been having recently. For some reason, the blonde had a strange feeling they would merely become stronger. Confusion hit him at this realization, uncertain of what to make of it as he closed his eyes. There would be a time later to contemplate on it further. Hopefully, sleep would grant him a pleasant rest.

Opening his eyes, he noticed the room had vanished. Naruto noticed he was in one of his dreams. There was the blue-green water surrounding him. Confused, he tried to hold his breath. It didn't last for long. A few bubbles slipped through his lips, but somehow he wasn't drowning. He glanced around, noticing it was one of those dreams again. The blonde wished he could understand what this meant. Moving forward against his will, he allowed the dream to lead the way. Noticing the path he was traveling, he noticed there seemed to be a sense of someone watching him. He eventually reached the outskirts of a kingdom. He saw the merfolk there. He didn't know why the pull he felt from the real world was telling him this is the place he's supposed to end up here. Shaking his head, he decided to take another few steps forward until someone stopped him.
"Oh, so you decided to come?" asked a bleach blonde haired woman, her eyes an azure blue while her tail was a mixture of dark gold scales, wearing a cloth to cover her breasts which could be seen made out of weaved seaweed.
"Um, where am I?" queried Naruto hesitantly. "This place isn't real, right? It's just a dream."
The woman crossed her arms over her chest, "I would've thought Kushina told you about this."
"What do you know about my mom?" demanded Naruto, snapping his attention to the blonde at hearing the redheaded woman's name mentioned.
"There's no time," she sighed. "You'll wake soon enough. I'm guessing it's the witch who's causing you to have these dreams. She knows you need to come here. It's where...you belong, Naruto. I know you'll be able to locate this place eventually. When you do, look fo me. I'd hate for the rulers or one of their guards to capture you."
"Wait! You didn't answer my question!" protested Naruto as he was slowly coming out of the dream.
"Just be patient for once, baka."

Snappping his eyes open, he noticed he woke up in a cold sweat. Sighing, he propped himself onto his elbows. The ship remained silent. He glanced outside of the porthole in his room to see that dawn hasn't risen yet. He doubted he'd be able to fall back asleep. Rubbing his eyes, he rolled off the bed before stretching his stiff muscles. He thought to walk back towards the upper deck. He could rejoin Kiba. Hearing the satisfying sound of the cracks and pops, he decided to take a walk. There were multiple things swarming his mind.
"Hey, Naruto?" asked Kiba as he had left his post since he was done for the moment until the captain wanted him to be on lookout duty again.
"Yeah?" replied the blonde, relieved it had been Inuzuka since he had thought to go looking for him.
"I'm glad we're friends," smiled Kiba, happy to see he had made the blonde smile too.
"I am too," he replied softly.
"Do you want to head towards the upper deck to watch the sunrise?" asked Kiba, hoping the blonde would say yes.
"Sure," blushed Naruto, following him up as Akamaru bounded towards Kiba, knocing him over.
Kiba laughed, "Hello to you too, Akamaru. Down boy."
Akamaru obedientaly moved off of him, yipping happily to see his Master, "You and he seem to have a good relationship."
"Of course," blushed Kiba. "It's a custom in my family. When each Inuzuka is born, they're given a dog as their lifelong companion. I suppose I'm like one in a way."
"How so?" Naruto asked, raising a brow at him.
"Well, we're both loyal to those we consider our friends," he shrugged.
"Gotcha," nodded Naruto as the two walked with Akamaru trotting beside them until they reached their desired location. "Wow, dawn's about to rise. I always think the sunset is beautiful, but the sunrise can be pretty too."
"True," mused Naruto, leaning against the railing, feeling the salt spray hit his face which relaxed him, noticing Kiba leaned against it as well beside him while Akamaru laid comfortably on the floor.
While they watched the sun rise, neither of them noticed another ship in the near distance heading straight for them. There was no one at the crow's nest right now. If there had been someone there then the events that were about to transpire would've been avoided. Kiba and Naruto shared the friendly moment together, enjoying each other's company. Although it wouldn't last too long. A few moments later, there was a collision between their ship and another. It caused the two men to lose their balance. Kiba managed to maintain his; especially with Akamaru biting on his shirt to ensure he didn't fall off. Unfortunately, Naruto wasn't too lucky. He managed to topple off of the boat into the brine. He plunged underneath, the distant cry of Kiba could be heard. The blonde tried to hold his breath. Eventually a few bubbles escaped through his lips while trying to breach the surface. What he hadn't noticed is how there was something causing him to be unable to return to whence he came. Struggling, he somehow managed to hit his head against something. With his vision darkening, he heard something in his mind before unconsciousness claimed him to drag him down into darkness.
You'll be mine soon enough, half-breed.
A/N: Yays! Done with chappie two! Hehes, I decided since I was done with a bit of bonding between him and Kiba I'd kick into gear some of the plot. Next time, welp you'll find out what'll happen to Naruto. *shifty eyes* What? Do you honestly think I'd give spoilers, you crazies? Uh, nopes that ain't happening. I hope ya'll loved this chappie.
