Naruto took a look at his surrounding, he had covered about twenty kilometres around the central tower and still no sign of sasuke or sakura, it was really strange, he just excused himself for a few minutes in order to take a leak.
He heard his own voice answer sasuke's riddle and then a shriek, he came out of the bushes as fast as he could so that he could laugh at the imposter (sasuke should have nailed him by now), make a joke or two and finally close with megaton punch line that would surely add salt to injury.
He had implemented his first plan, make it back to thier temporary camp but the remaining plans were hindered because the stage that should be set up in order to enact them was nowhere in sight and so he called out to them, an act that thus began the search for sasuke and Sakura.

Naruto for the hundredth time felt in to his weapons bag to make sure that the precious earth scroll was still safe, an item that made him both happy and anxious, the first feeling was because he new Sasuke and Sakura would double thier effort in looking for him because of it, while the later feeling was because if word went out that he was in possession of such an item... Lets just say he wouldn't leave the forest the same way he came in.

sakura and Ino sat opposite a sakura(Japanese cherry tree) and watched as the leaves swayed back and fort, there was something peaceful about that morning that made them just want to sit and watch the red sun rise from behind the tree.
And as faith would have it sasuke came out for some fresh air, he noticed that Sakura and ino had taken the best spot in the meadow and so he had no choice but to settle for the the next best thing, the Sakura tree.
Sakura and ino watched him and Sakura felt at peace with herself, because seeing sasuke under a tree she was named after made her imagine herself protecting him. She would break down harsh wind into soothing breeze, she would provide him with fresh fruits and draw enough sap to mend his things.

But what was this, the tree was moving on its own, it was removing its own roots, it wasn't stable, it was going to fall on... "sasuke!". She didn't have enough time to call out to him, she just stood transfixed watching as he disappeared under the weight of the tree and all at once ino said in orochimaru's voice "you think you are protecting him but what you are actually doing is gathering all his problems into on pile, so you can hit him with full force"
" no! It can't be, he might still be alive" Sakura countered
"oh yes but you wouldn't let that last now would you?" orochimaru/ino said pointing in sasuke's direction
Sakura followed her hand and found out that the tree was on fire "no!"
"no?, you don't know what you do to him, you hit him with his troubles and still you make sure he doesn't come out of it!"
"no!, you're lying, sasuke!, sasuke!!, can you hear me, sasuke!!!"
"Sakura!"
All at once everything melted into darkness and she looked up into the face of the one she thought she had lost forever" you... You... You're alive"
"of course I am but I'm not sure Naruto is"
Sakura noticing that it had all been a day mare composed herself to abate embarrassing questions "why?"
"we got separated, if that orochimaru guy didn't take him... "
"the other teams would have because he has the scroll" Sakura interrupted
"yes, and also because I've gone to all the gates and there is no sign of him there"
"what if he already has both the scrolls and is waiting for us at the tower?"
"come on Sakura its Naruto we're talking about"
"yeah, i guess you're right but still he could be looking for us there, thinking the same thing?"
"i guess, can you walk?"
"not well, i think i sprained my ankle"
"that orochimaru guy really did a number on us"
"that i can agree upon" Sakura said smiling, happy to be back in the awake world.

The members of team kurena were still in shock, watching the life of three adult looking Shinobi get snuffed without the murderers even breaking a sweat was really bad for confidence building.
Being very soft and emotional, not to mention the only female in the group, hinnata was the most self stricken. She had seen people die before but the sight had made her... Her lips started to quiver, her body shook and her eyes brimmed with tears threatening to draw out more emotion.
Kiba saw her just in time and from experience knew that if hinnata started to cry, first she wouldn't be able to stop until all her emotions have been let loose and second her voice would most definitely attract the murderers which would win them a one way ticket to the great beyond.

When kiba finished his analysis on what might happen if hinnata cried, he found out that his hands were already covering her mouth but it wasn't enough.

He needed something that could bottle up all that emotion, something like... I don't know!, a cork?, nah to small oh! Maybe a big stone?, no no no to stupid he needed something more... The answer hit him.
"look hinnata you've got to pull yourself together, don't do it for me, do it for Naruto"
She calmed down a little, he had said the magic word and masterfully if I may say so because now the only thing hinnata could think of was a particular naughty fantasy she had after Naruto ran past the hyuga household, shirtless.
The thought actually made her feel hot and wet but also made a deep red blush to creep over her cheeks, leaving kiba surprised that the name, Naruto could actually make such an impact on the hyuga heiress.

Naruto couldn't move again, his body wasn't used to not talking to someone and also not getting stuffed with delicious pork ramen.
He had a rustle and in a few seconds, he had covered the nearest bushes with kunais and throwing stars.
A little search later revealed the culprit, a fluffy white bunny. he snickered as a previous scene replayed in his head.
during a previous b rank mission, naruto had been trying to stop sasuke from hugging away all the glory, and so had attacked at the slightest foreign sound and he had almost hit a white bunny very similar to this one. Sakura had yelled at him to stop acting cool, sasuke had "pfted" and kakashi had called the bunny a snow rabbit, and that it changes its fur from white to brown during summer. Naruto's face scrunched up, he took another look at the rabbit and asked "so why does this one still have white fur?."
A kunai imbedded itself in the rabbits maw and tore the poor animal soul away from its body but at least it answered Naruto's question.
He felt something in hand and when he dared to investigate he found out that the reason for the attacks was because in absence of any other weapon he had brought out the last item in his holster, the earth scroll "uh oh"
The ninjas attacked, they were three experienced Shinobis from the village in the hidden mountains, and anywhere on the ground was thier turf.
The first went straight for naruto's face, earning him a new hole in the hand but he held his ground and in a few second had the Shinobi in a tight arm struggle.
But in a battle of three against one, the odds are not just in your favour.
The second hit him forcefully into the third who made a rock fist and literally nock some sense into Naruto.
He picked of a kunai, attached a few explosive note, threw it and made a break for it he ran about five miles before he running into the same shinobis.
The rock fist guy thought him another lesson and almost passed him out. Naruto lay on the floor, bloody and slipping away he heard the rock guy say "I want o peal the scroll from his lifeless body" and the last thing Naruto saw was the shiny edge of a kunai.
But before reaching his passed out state Naruto made a stop at kuramas cage.
"look dumb fox, I am a actually dieing and in dire need of your chakra, so cough it out or my light gets snuffed!."
"hmmm" kurama started "your body is weak with multiple bruises and broken bones, I would say there is little my chakra can do for you now"
"does that mean there's no hope for me?"
"no, there is"
"what"
"we'll have to switch bodies"
"will it hurt?"
"absolutely not, just sit back and enjoy the show"
"okay"
The rock shinobi buried the kunai into narutos chest but instead of blood, he saw steam in fact it was coming out of every single wound on Naruto body, which by the way was already healing.
Naruto looked up with red slits for pupils and sharp fangs.
With one motion of his jaws the shinobi neck was missing, the two tried to make a break for it but Naruto didn't let them.
his hand disappeared into the closest ones chest and reappeared holding his heart and finally with a hot puff, roasted the last with a katon, be didn't even know he could do that.
He searched the bodies and found the heaven scroll.
"ohh lucky me" he looked sad and then happy again "the instructor didn't actually say how many scrolls you could collect and she did say some people wouldn't make it out alive, who am i not to make sure that comes true" Naruto /kurama said bounding into the forest laughing maniacally.
