CHAPTER 1
            My name is Hiro Inuzuka. I was orphaned when the Nine Tailed Fox Demon attacked my village, The Village Hidden in the Leaves. The Fourth Hokage, Minato Namakazi, subdued the beast and trapped it inside his newborn son, Naruto Uzumaki, believing that he would be strong enough to contain it. This is the story of how we met, what I discovered about myself, and how THREE became ONE.

            “Come on Hiro! Iruka’s gunna be pissed if we’re late on the FIRST DAY!”
            “Coming Nii-chan!” I bellowed back. I snickered, Kiba hates it when I call him that!
            “DON’T CALL ME THAT” he practically roared.
            “KIDS! NO YELLING IN THE HOUSE!” Ironically, this was bellowed even louder than us.
            “Gomen Oka-chan.” We muttered. No matter how brave we felt going against each other, Oka-chan was still scary when she wanted to be. Some explanation is probably due. The Inuzuas adopted me after the attack. They had been close friends with my parents. I was born 7 months after the attack, my mother died from blood loss during childbirth. Oka-chan was there and heard my mothers’ last wish. Mother made her promise to keep me safe, no matter what.
            I just turned 12, everyone else is a year older. I skipped a grade, since I’m as smart as my friend Shikamaru Nara. But I actually apply myself. That’s why I get to be in a class with my big brother Kiba.
            The Inuzuka family has a very special kekkei-genkai. They can communicate with their chosen animal. Kiba has a puppy, Akamaru. Oka-chan’s dog looks more like a wolf, but he’s always gentle with me. Sometimes I get depressed because I don’t have any special abilities. When Akamaru senses this, he tells Kiba. I am then immediately bombarded with brotherly love, puppy licks and constant fun. Obviously, they don’t let me get depressed that often. Kiba and Oka-chan keep me busy with training, chores and teaching me to understand basic dog. I know enough to share small amounts of information.
            Umino Iruka is my academy teacher. He’s always been my teacher, but today is my first day I the older class. My brother is introducing me to his friends. Hmmm… I should probably pay attention.
            “Hey everyone! This is my little sis, Hiro. Hiro, this is Aburame Shino.” He pointed to an average kid with black hair, wearing a white trench coat and sunglasses. “His family’s kekkei-genkai is insects. He doesn’t really say much.” Kiba grinned and Shino nodded in greeting.
            “This is Hyuga Hinata and Hyuga Neji. They’re cousins and possess the Bakyugan of the Hyuga clan.” He waved to a small, blue haired girl.
‘Wow! She’s small and I’m only 5’5”! She also seems very shy!’
“Ohayuou H-hiro-ch-chan” she whispered, barely audible. Her cousin stood protectively beside her, although he could pass as her brother except for the hair. His is long and brown. Plus he frowns a lot. He gave a curt nod then looked away.
“And you know Shikamaru” we exchanged bored looks and a half smile on my part. We both have the lazy outlook on life, although his is more extreme than mine. Kiba pointed to a plump kid with orange hair, red swirls on his face and eating the biggest bag of potato chips I’ve ever seen! “That ball of fluff is Akimichi Choji. His families’ talents re the Expansion Jutsu and Food Pills.” Choji just continued to eat.
“This blonde gossip girl-“he was swiftly smacked on the back of the head by aforementioned girl “OW! Is Yamanaka Ino. Her families’ kekkei-genkai is Mind Possession.” I smiled at her. Wait… is she sizing me up?! I know I’m not much to look at but no need to be rude! Oka-chan says I’m beautiful but I disagree. I have cream colored skin, bright teal eyes, and a thin but full figure. My hair is royal blue with teal tips and highlights. Oka-chan wants me to wear it down more, but I like to keep it up in a high ponytail. I wear a black jacket with teal lining, teal gloves, black stretch shorts to my knees and regulation black ninja sandals. My belly only shows slightly. Her shirt, on the other hand, ends about an inch below her breasts. I glared at her and took pleasure in seeing her pale a bit.
“HELLO MY YOUTHFUL FRIENDS!” everyone in the vicinity groaned. A girl was coming toward us, but she was not the source of the greeting. It was a tall boy. A tall boy in a green spandex jumpsuit. That wasn’t even the worst. He has bug eyes, an unflattering bowl haircut and… and… the GOD DAMN BIGGEST EYEBROWS I’VE EVER SEEN! Seriously, are those things alive?! They look like they’re about to jump off his face and turn into butterflies for christsake!
“Oh hey guys! Hiro, this is TenTen.” I greeted the normal looking girl. She had big brown eyes and her brown hair was in bus on her head. “TenTen here is a weapons expert. She carries almost all weapons and can identify any weapon you show her.” I grinned at this. Kiba knows I love to collect weapons.
“And this is Rock Lee. He is a Taijutsu master. He can’t do Ninjutsu or Genjutsu so he became a master of Taijutsu.” This green freak is a Taijutsu master?! Oh great, my eye is starting to twitch. “This is my sister Hiro.”
“HOW WONDERFUL TO MEET YOU YOUTHFUL MAIDEN! ARE YOU PREPARED FOR A DAY OF EDUCATION AND YOUTH?!” Great, now I need new eardrums. Wait… is that FREAK trying to HUG ME?! AUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!! RUN AWAY!
“Stop trying to hug my sister Lee I don’t want her traumatized for like” Kiba chuckled while I used him as a human shield.
“INO-PIG! HAVE YOU SEEN HM?!”
Kiba sighed “And that would be the pink tornado. SAKURA! STOP TRYING TO GOUGE OUT INOS’ EYES AND COME MEET MY SISTER!!!” I sweat dropped. Don’t any of these people possess a normal voice register? Surprisingly, said pinkette obeyed and trotted over. “Hiro, this is Haruno Sakura. She is the best female student in our class and probably matches you in intelligence.” I smiled at her, pleased to meet another academically inclined female.
“Very nice to meet you Hiro, I’m sure we’ll become great friends” At least her kindness and smile are genuine. So I smile back just as brightly. Suddenly, I feel a presence behind me, staring at me. I whip around and come face-to-face with eyes as black as night.
“Hey Sasuke! You made it! This is my sister, Hiro. Hiro, this is Uchiha Sasuke. His clans’ kekkei-genkai is the Sharingan. He’s usually only a little less quiet than Shino and Neji. He’s also the academy’s hottie, most girls are members of his fan club.” I sneered at this comment, looking him up and down. His skin color was a few shades lighter than mine. His hair a dark navy blue. But the back of his hair is spiked and kid of resembles a duck butt or a cockatoo. He’s handsome, I’ll give him that, but not really my type.
“What’s so special about him? Sure, he looks ok, but is that all he’s got going for him?” I smirked (I’m not exactly known or my tact). Sasuke looks like he’s about to have a stroke, meanwhile everyone else is either laughing their asses off or have their mouths hanging open in shock. Suddenly my brother slung his arm around my shoulder.
“I think you’re the only female in the entire village who thinks that Hiro. Let alone have the guts to say it in front of his fan-girls!’ I paled at that comment. Damn… I hadn’t even thought about that mob… luckily they were still in shock so Kiba and I quickly slipped away to class. Sasuke stared at me the whole way, typical if you’ve just been insulted. What was unusual was the hint of a smile on his face… Whatever, my mind’s probably playing tricks on me. Wouldn’t be the first time.
“I wonder where that blonde, loud-mouthed hellion is. Iruka will kick his ass is he’s late one more time…” Kiba muttered.
“Who are you talking about big bro?”
“Oh, my best friend. He’s quite an interesting character, so I’ll let him introduce himself…” Uh-oh… Why does Kiba have such a mischievous look in his eyes? That never bodes well…
We arrived at the classroom door when we heard a loud crash inside. “NARUTO!!!” Wait, was that Iruka-sensei’s voice? Suddenly, the door burst open and someone ran straight into me. I wasn’t prepared so we both fell to the ground with the cause of my current headache on top of me. I opened my eyes slowly and was instantly captured in the gaze of the most beautiful eye’s I’d ever seen. They were the same color as my hair, filled with life and mischief.
“Naruto, the person you just tackled is my sister, Hiro. Hiro, this is Uzumaki Naruto. Now, Naruto… GET OFF MY SISTER BEFORE I RIP YOU TO SHREDS!!!” Oh no… Protective Big Brother Mode… Not good! I shoved Naruto off of me before he even had a chance to respond.
“O-ok, calm down Kiba, he didn’t do it on purpose. It was an accident!” crap! If I don’t get him calmed down, that boy is about to lose some very important parts of his anatomy!
Luckily, Naruto was apparently his best friend so he didn’t stay mad for long “Naruto, introduce yourself properly and apologize to the young lady.” Wait, when did Iruka-sensei join our little group?
“Gomen-nisai Hiro-chan.” He bowed deeply then shot up “I’m Uzumaki Naruto and I’m going to be Hokage one day Believe It!” I was captivated by the boy in front of me. He had spiky, sunshine blonde hair. His skin the color of light caramel. He had three whisker-like scars on each round cheek. He wore and orange and blue jumpsuit and stood casually with his hands behind his head. He was wearing a slight blush of embarrassment and a wide, honest mile. I instantly knew he had a good heart.
“T-that’s alright N-nartuo-san. It was an accident r-right?” I blushed lightly. Kiba was probably looking at me like I had grown a second head! I almost never blush and I’ve never had to struggle for words! ‘Until now’ I reprimand myself. People started walking past us into the class. We hadn’t even noticed that the bell had rung.
“Well, I guess I should start class. Come on kids!” We followed Iruka-sensei into the room. ‘This is going to be interesting’ I thought to myself.
