Food Shopping

Prompt: Write a play with one scene.

Characters: NARUTO, a five year old child

AOI, a shop worker

CAT: an ANBU

(NARUTO walks into the shop and starts looking at the shelves. AOI comes up and stops him.)

NARUTO: (Confused and angrily) What do you think you're doing?

AOI: (Sneers) What are you doing here demon? This is a shop for normal people.

NARUTO: (Frowns) I am just going to buy some food.

AOI: (Anger starts to grow) Get out of here! This is a shop for normal people and I will not sell food to demons like you!

NARUTO: (Upset and angry) What do you mean?! I am not a demon! Why does everyone keep calling me a demon for?

AOI: (Freezes and starts to sweat)

NARUTO: (Glares) Well? Are you going to tell me why you are calling me a demon for? I have not done anything to you!

AOI: (Gulps nervously) Does it matter? I have my rights and I know what they are. Get out of my shop!

NARUTO: ((Stomps foot angrily)) No! I just want to buy some food! What is so wrong with that? And why do you keep on calling me a demon for?

AOI: (Panicked and angry) I...I...I call you a demon because that is what you are! And I refuse to sell anything to a demon!

NARUTO: (Growls) But I am not a demon, I am a human! Just because I am going to be a Ninja it does not make me a demon!

AOI: (Snarls) Brat, get lost before I call the ANBU and have you kicked into prison.

NARUTO: (Shock) But I did not do anything wrong! All I wanted to do was buy some food for the week!

AOI: (Anger grows) I do not care, get lost, go some other place. Your money is worthless hear demon.

NARUTO: ((Crosses arms)) What?! We are back to the start again? Why will you not tell me the reason why you call me a demon for? What is so wrong with doing my weekly shop? I thought that doing your normal shop was something considered to be normal.

AOI: For people like myself it is but for those like you it is not.

NARUTO: (Glares) What is that supposed to mean?!

AOI: (Ignores NARUTO'S anger) Besides what sort of things do you want to buy? A live human? Blood? I bet that you eat children and-

NARUTO: ((Cuts AOI off)) I do not do any of those sorts of things! Stop making things up about me you stupid idiot!

AOI: ((Raises hand and threatens to click his fingers to summon the ANBU)) Enough, I have put up with your childish games for long enough, I am losing valuable profit because of your presence in my shop! If you do not leave right now I will summon the ANBU and have you arrested.

NARUTO: ((Mouth drops open in shock)) B-But you cannot do that to me! I have done nothing wrong! All I want to do is buy my some food! I have not even hit you or pranked you let alone raised a hand to you or even broke any rules!

AOI: (Glares) I do not care ((Clicks fingers twice)) I have had enough for you!

ANBU CAT ENTERS

CAT: ((Looks between NARUTO and AOI with a raised eyebrow)) Yes?

NARUTO: I did not do anything for once!

AOI: ((Points to NARUTO)) Get him out of my shop! He wants to buy food!

CAT: ((Turns to look at NARUTO in confusion))

NARUTO: ((Pulls out his frog wallet and shows it to CAT)) I have money! I was going to pay! I am not a thief!

CAT: (Sighs)

AOI: I want this demon out of my shop! NOW!

CAT: ((Shakes head and picks NARUTO up)) Very well, come on kid, I know of another place you can get your weekly shopping done.

AOI: (Watches smugly as CAT and NARUTO disappears in a whirlwind of leaves in front of him).
