Shino looked at his partner setting up their camp. They chose a nice and secluded place, surrounded by trees. If you were very quiet, you could hear the soft, lovely melody of a few birds. His bugs were flying around the area, checking if it really was as lovely as it seemed or if there were traps or enemies near. So far, Shino felt nothing alarming.
"It's nice out here, don't ya think Shino?''
He nodded once in respond towards his partner. Kiba grinned and started whistling a cheerful tune, while putting the last of their stuff down and making a camp fire. His giant dog, Akamaru, soon joined and whined along with the melody.
''There, all set. Now we can finally relax!'' and with that, Kiba fell flat on his back on the ground. He put his arms under his head and closed his eyes with a sigh. The flames drew moving shadows over his face and Shino caught himself watching them. The tribal markings on Kiba's face looked ancient and dangerous even, reflected like that. He looked like a fearsome opponent, ready to slice your throat with one single cut of his kunai knife. Shino secretly admired Kiba for being such a strong, powerful ninja and a true, honest friend. Suddenly Kiba's eyes shut open and Shino's thoughts about his friend were roughly interrupted by his voice: ''Were you watching my handsome face, Shino?"
Shino's eyebrow raised. ''I was not. I was waiting for my insects to give me an all clear.'' Which was not entirely true. Since they already gave an all clear about half an hour ago. Somehow, Shino did not want Kiba to know that he had been looking at him.
''Say Shino, did you ever had a crush?''
What? Shino did not know what to say. He simply raised an eyebrow again. What an unusual question to ask so suddenly.
''I mean, c'mon. We all know about Hinata's crush.. and Sakura's too. Just curious if you had one too. I know I did!" Kiba grinned and propped up on one arm, so he could look Shino in the eyes. Well, look at his glasses.
''I am not sure yours count, Kiba, since you only ever fell for looks.''
At this Kiba looked offended. ''Hey, that's not true!''
''What about that time you thought you liked Ino, because she changed her clothes for something more revealing?''
''Oh c'mon. You can't say that you didn't notice how big her boobs looked!''
"I look at faces, Kiba.''
Shino wanted to drop the subject and just go to sleep. If he let his friend talk about girls just a tad too long, something would click inside Kiba's head and he would go into details about all his flings and then Shino would have to listen to his friends sex life again and he so did not want to go there. Again. Somehow, listening to Kiba's story made something ache inside Shino. It was an unnerving feeling and Shino tried to avoid feeling it by all means.

Meanwhile, Kiba was still talking about how he really couldn't help noticing the growth in Ino's breasts, until he saw Shino wasn't listening. Damn it all. That stupid Shino. Nothing could get him aroused, no matter how hard Kiba tried. Shino had feelings for him. It had to be. He only needed to realize it himself. Because if he didn't.. Mann. Kiba had a crush on him now for ages, it seemed. He tried flirting (no response), meaningful conversations (girls love that, right?), little gifts (which were special bugs. 'Cause that made Shino surprisingly happy, Kiba found out) and what not. Now, his new approach was arousing Shino. If he was aroused, he would find out that he really was lusting after Kiba all this time and ta-da. Problem solved. So Kiba thought, but making Shino aroused.. Those two words in one sentence just didn't seem to fit.
He tried eating penis-shaped food when Shino was around. That didn't work. He tried hard to eat his banana sexy, while looking Shino innocently in the eyes. C'mon, he thought, just picture me sucking a really sexy, yellow dick. But Shino calmly ate his own banana and suddenly Kiba pictured Shino sucking and then biting in the yellow dick and that gave him horror images, 'cause no one should bite in a penis and.. Well yeah, it did not work.
Tonight was gonna be the night. Kiba felt it. He unbuttoned his jacket slowly, watching Shino if it would have any effect. Which it seemingly didn't. Well then, drastic measures were required.
