Ino/Naruto Scene
Ino was nervous. She was standing in her apartment, looking around the room as she triple checked if anything was out of place in the spotless room. She was standing at the front of a rather well furnished room, lit by a gentle golden light that spilled in through the open windows dotted about the room, gentle shadows of the potted plants sitting upon the window sills danced across the light wooden floor and cream coloured tiles. They fluttered silently upon the singular sofa and its companion chair, the glass table in front of them distorting the light as though it was passing through still water. Ino was wearing her usual gear that her 'teacher' had brought for her, a fairly tight sleeveless purple shirt under which sat a mesh guard, along with black shorts and zip up purple skirt while bandages sat around her left leg, hiding her weaponry. Her blonde hair was clipped back so that a portion fell just over the right side of her face without obscuring her view. She had lived in this apartment for a little over two months now, a little before the Chunin exams, now that she thought about it, and she had never looked back. it had been difficult at first, trying to make do with the little space that she had been given, especially once she realised how many clothes she would have to be rid of in order to fit any into her small dresser and wardrobe. But she had gotten used to it, in no small part thanks to her mentor and friend. She sighed and shook her head when she realised how silly she was being. There was no way he would care if it was messy, she thought to herself as she readjusted a pair of curtains so they were more symmetrical before catching herself and pulling her hands away. She slipped on her tight black shoes that clung tightly to her feet; making them perfect for stealth and climbing without the aid of chakra, before she slipped out of her apartment and began to make her way towards the forest were her teacher would be at this time of morning. The night-chilled air of the early morning struck her, making her shiver even as she began to jump across the rooftops, feeling the nippy air rush past her, making her ears sting lightly as her heart began to pump and she started to feel a bit more awake. She looked upwards, seeing the redness of the sky slowly fading as the sun made its way up past the horizon off to the east, blurring the line of trees that she could see with its brilliance. She dropped down before her families shop and slipped inside to find her father already setting up for the, supposedly, busy day he was about to have "To-chan" she called out as she walked into the shop, smiling at the man as he turned and grinned "Ah, Musume, welcome home" he said as he hugged her tightly. Her father was head of their rather small clan, and was also almost intensely protective of her only daughter. As such it had taken both her mother and herself, along with her teacher swearing several blood oaths, to get the man to relent and allow her to live on her own while being trained. "Has he been here yet?" Ino asked her father, trying to smother the light excitement in her voice, her father still smiled though "Yes, he's been and gone" he told her, chuckling at her put out expression. "He'll be in the forest as always Musume, there's no reason to look like that" Ino huffed. "I wanted to meet him here. Now I've got to navigate through the forest again, right after doing my hair up as well" she said, crossing her arms and huffing while her father laughed much to her ire "You know the way well enough, and you should also be able to avoid messing up your hair if you've been training, as he said" "Fine, so what he'd bring us?" Ino asked her father, looking to the counter were a few delicately wrapped packages were sitting. "Well..." the man said as he slowly unwrapped several of the packages exposing their rather expensive and delicate contents. "Wow" Ino gasped as she picked up the single black rose, ignoring the others for now. Her fingers lightly brushing the delicate petals that were dyed an impossibly dark crimson that lightened slightly at the edges, giving it a rather spectacular look "They are certainly impressive" he father agreed as he picked up two others and, almost reverently, put them into a vase filled with water "I'd never seen any of these until he brought the first in a little while back" Ino said as she stared, entranced, at the delicate but thorny flower "Neither had I, they are surprisingly hard to grow, as are most roses. But to get the colouration like that is truly the work of a master" "Kinda hard to believe that he taught me nearly everything I know about combat" "Hmm, it is rather strange" Ino passed her father the last rose before noticing a light brown powder sitting inside of a little paper bag "What's that?" she asked, not touching it, knowing that her mentor grew some rather dangerous plants along with the ordinary kinds. "That, is a very rare, and expensive herb found only in Suna, and even there it is extremely rare. This would make a small killing if sold on the market" "What are we going to do with it?" Ino asked as she sat on the wooden counter top "Sell it to the hospital, and then cut him in on maybe half" "Half?" Ino asked, sounding shocked. "To-chan, she did most of the work, he should be getting all of it is it's that hard to grow. And I don't think that he won't know how precious or rare this herb is" Ino said sternly, making her father sweat slightly under her intense gaze "Y-yes" he said, swallowing slightly "perhaps I will talk to him about it later" he said and Ino thought before nodding sternly and hopping off of the counter "I'd better go see him then" she said as she walked over to the door and stepped out "Have fun!" he father shouted after her as she vanished out of the door and headed towards the forest just outside of the villages walls. She found her teacher sitting in his 'garden', a veritable field of colours and scents that boggled the mind. From vines growing on the surrounding trees, to water lilies and raised hills of sand where strange, tiny, plants sat, bathing in the intense light provided by several focusing mirrors. A small portion of the land had been turned into a kind of swamp where some more plants were growing, all in all it was a very strange mixture of terrains and conditions that had taken him many years to get right. "Ino-chan" he called out with his back to her. He turned to look at her with a soft smile that she had come to enjoy very much when directed at her "Naruto-sensei" she greeted him, bowing slightly. She realised that he was probably the only person she really bowed to on a regular basis. Her family was rather close as so there was little need for it, and other than the Hokage no one else she saw regularly needed bowing to, even her own official sensei, despite him being the son of the Hokage. The young man in front of her motioned for her to come forwards even as he turned back to look across the large pond that sat in the centre of his garden. He was dressed, Ino could see, in a loose white shirt and black jacket along with dark trousers; he still wasn't wearing any shoes. "Still no shoes?" she asked him as she sat down next to him, blushing lightly when she realised that their bodies were touching, he didn't seem to mind "We've been through this Ino-chan" Naruto said warmly "as much as I know you want to help me pick out a pair of shoes that would suit me I don't need them. Years of walking around in a forest without them have made both my feet and hands rather tough" he told her as he smiled at her again "You're no fun" she said, pouting cutely and making him laugh as she did so, his laugh made her shiver, it was deep, like a cat purring, and surprisingly soothing to her. "Hmm, well I see your doing well, how are you after Monday?" he asked her and she paled slightly. Monday had been near torture to her, being a test set by Naruto he had hounded her all day, fighting and ambushing her until she was ready to drop from sheer exhaustion "I-I think I'm good" she said, laughing somewhat shakily as she chuckled "You did well on that, no genin would be expected to survive such an experience on their own, hence why I told you to try and make it to team sevens training area" "To see if I could make it out of enemy territory, or to a patrol area?" "Yes. See, my lessons do pay off, even if they leave you a bit sore" he said as he stood "Naruto-kun?" she suddenly asked, he looked down at her. "Um, do you. That is. What if." "Ino-chan, you aren't finishing your sentences" he said in a amused voice that made her flush in embarrassment "I know. Um..." she trailed off as he blush intensified while he sat back down and put an arm around her, pulling her close to him as she blushed "What is it?" he asked softly and she took a deep breath "Could you, um, come round my apartment after this?" she asked and Naruto blinked before smiling. No laughter, no mocking look, just a soft smile. "Of course Ino-chan" he said before standing and helping her up to her feet "but before that, I suggest we get to training, unless you don't want to?" he asked her while looking at her with a careful expression, as if analysing her response "No that's, um, fine" she said and he smiled "Okay then, let's get to it" Ino had met Naruto nearly five years ago now. He had first walked into the shop when he was twelve and she was ten, asking for some rather specific stuff and offering what he had already been able to grow himself as payment. Her father had been rather suspicious at first but had relented and since then Naruto provided them with what he grew, they sold it and passed the profits onto him which then went towards anything he needed, including more plants and tools for him to use. Since then he had visited sporadically until she was fourteen and about to go through her genin exams. He had offered to teach her what he knew about combat and the like. She had nearly laughed at him at first, until he revealed that he could beat most genin, and probably quite a few Chunin, into the ground despite apparently not being able to utilise chakra as they could, having never been taught how to use it to its fullest potential. Their relationship had grown from there until she saw him as her teacher rather than Asuma, who mostly expected their families to train them as they were all heirs to one clan or another. He had also helped her out during her first kill ad several other times when she couldn't turn to anyone but him. Even her infatuation with Sasuke had died soon after beginning to train with him, and over time she was begun to see him as the sort of boyfriend she would love to have with her. Her relationship with her old friend Sakura was still shaky, but they were getting better if only because of Naruto's continued insistence that she fix what the two of them once had. Several times he had been granted permission to go on missions with them as an 'observer', though most reports almost always mentioned him having near Chunin skills and him actively participating in the missions. He had rejected all offers to join the ninja core however, though he had never told anyone he reasons for doing that. He stood in front of her, one hand behind his back and the other held out in front of him, palm open while she crouched down slightly and readied herself "Just like always" he told her firmly, now fully in teaching mode "try and hit me, if you can" he told her as they both got ready. Naruto was watching Ino with an analytical gaze, watching ever movement, watching for any flaw in her stance or movements. He felt rather proud of her, having come from nearly nothing to a young warrior who could now her own against most of the other fighters, including Kiba and possibly even Neji if she trained hard enough. She suddenly flew into action, the strikes coming hard and fast as he allowed his body to react naturally to them and begin to either block or dodge the strikes. He watched as she began to go faster and faster, hitting her peak as her muscles loosened up further and she began to try and dance around him, just as he had taught her. He said nothing as he blocked and dodged her, his whole attention was focused on her movements and form, watching as her, admittedly, beautiful body moved from position to position as she struck out again and again, each blow flowing into the next as if she was dancing. "Stop" he suddenly said and she froze, leg outstretched, foot caught by his right hand as she halted, breathing heavily as he let her go and she walked over to a tree to catch her breath "I still can't hit you" she said after a few moments and he shrugged "Don't worry about it, you could probably fight most of your classmates to a standstill and win against most of them. After all, I wouldn't be much of a teacher if I wasn't better than you at this" he told her as she sat down, taking off his shirt and jacket as he did so, pretending not to notice either her quick glance or soft blush as she looked away from him quickly. "But its been six months since you started training me and I still can't land even one hit on you" she huffed and Naruto chuckled again, standing up he gently swatted her backside "Come on" he said, ignoring both her squeal of surprise and harsh glare, despite its effect being greatly lessened by her intense blush. He sat on a fallen log as she began to run up and down one of the tallest trees in the forest. He leant back on his hands and watched her for a few moments before deciding to talk "Listen Ino" he said, his deep voice ringing clearing through the clearing as he made sure that she could hear him. "The fact is that you'll probably never be able to beat me head on, you forget that every day you grow stronger, so do I. However your rate of improvement is far above the rest of your classmates and so you will soon be the strongest out of all of them. However you'll never win against Kiba or Neji, let alone Sasuke once he unlocks his bloodline, in a straight on fight" he said as she continued her running, sweat dripping from her as she did so, though the chilled air did wonders to help her despite the rising sun. "So you must think tactically, like your team you can't go head on with brawlers like myself, you'll all get killed, even Shikamaru won't be able to think his way out of a meeting with an S-rank missing ninja, believe me" he told her. He could see the slight frown on her face as she took all of this in and began to process it without asking questions, simply listening as a good student should. Eventually she stopped, nearly falling over as she stepped off of the tree only for him to catch her "Alright?" he asked as he sat her down and handed her a bottle of water "Yeah" she panted "how much longer?" she asked and he hummed to himself while looking up "About another twenty minutes" he told her as he stood up and took a defensive posture. Ino groaned but got up and slipped into her own stance before attacking him once again, only this time going much slower as she tried out several new moves her had taught her. Eventually the sun had fully risen as the two of them were resting for a few moments. Ino was out of breath and looked rather flushed from the intense exercise she had been undergoing for the last two hours "You ready?" Naruto asked her as he stood up, holding out his hand. She stood up with his help only to fall against him. She gasped as her face flushed and she shivered, feeling his arms wrap around her and hold her for a few moments before slowly letting go. She looked up to find him smiling and watching her warmly as he pulled away. She coughed into her hand as she tried to fight her blush before starting after him as they walked towards the town. "How have you been Naruto-kun?" Ino asked as they walked through the streets that were beginning to grow busier and busier as more and more people started out to do their shopping and the like. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
