It was snowing outside, frost was starting to creep on the windows creating that famous Christmas look. Inside the house a lone blond was working hard on a surprise for his lover. He had told the other man that he would be away for Christmas since his father had a very important contract with the government that he had to close or else lose it to another company.

To say that his lover wasn’t very understanding was an understatement. The man had even went so far as to tell him not to bother to come home. The blond had tried apologizing profusely, but his lover wouldn’t accept it. So Naruto Namikaze had come up with a brilliant idea to get his man, Sasuke Uchiha, to forgive him.

Of course when he had thought of this plan, he didn’t exactly plan out the logistics. He should have asked one of his friends for help. But he doubted that Sasuke would like the idea of someone else seeing him naked. He could only hope that what he had in mind would put him back in Sasuke’s good graces.

The blond already had his cock wrapped up nice and neat. His feet and legs were wrapped with silver wrapping paper, it had been quite a chore to get those wrapped without ripping the paper. It had taken him at least two hours to accomplish that task.

The blond looked down at his waist and sighed, he had run out of the wrapping paper and had resorted to using the Christmas ribbon that wasn’t used to decorate the apartment. But he had ran into trouble since he had somehow tangled himself up. He was under the tree, that part was accomplished, but he wasn’t wrapped all the way.

He twisted his wrists slightly to see if the ribbon would give, but it didn’t. It made the blond wonder just what Christmas ribbons were made of. It seemed ridiculous that he couldn’t tear his hands free. It should have been so easy to rip the fabric with enough force from his hands. Sighing, he gave up and plopped over. His surprise was ruined and there was nothing he could to make it better.

He was bored enough to start counting the ornaments on the Christmas tree that he could see. It was then that he noticed Sasuke had taken the ornaments that he had made off. Had he really pissed his lover off that much that he would remove the hand made items? Sasuke had loved those ornaments so much and had always placed them on the tree every year and freaked out if he couldn’t find them right away. There was an ornament for every year that they were together.

He tried not to let the missing ornaments bother him, but it was hard. They had fought hard to be together, Sasuke had defied his family and defended Naruto until they had finally accepted that their youngest son was gay. The blond had to fight his father, not because he was gay, but because he had believed that Sasuke wasn’t good enough for him and that the Uchiha would hurt him in the end.

It had been a long year when they had first gotten together and their relationship had almost failed a few times. But through determination and working through their problems, they had manage to salvage it. It took two more years for their families to come around and accept that they were in a long term relationship.

He only hoped that Sasuke would forgive him for missing most of Christmas Day. But Naruto thought that the Uchiha would understand since he took over his father’s company about three years ago. But Sasuke had always reacted opposite of what Naruto had predicted. He sometimes couldn’t see the brewing storm coming and when it would hit, it hit hard. When the blond had told Sasuke he loved him on the phone earlier that day, the other never replied.

The sound of the front door opening caught Naruto’s attention. He perked up a bit and positioned himself into what he thought would be a sexy pose, even though he was tangled. He was careful not to tear the paper.

He plastered a sexy smile on his lips as the footsteps came nearer. But the smile didn’t last long as not only Sasuke came into view, but Mikoto, Fugaku, and Itachi as well. The color left Naruto’s face, while he wasn’t exactly naked, it was an embarrassing position to be in.

Naruto smiled sheepishly, the color slowly returning to his face as his lover stepped into the living room and narrowed angry dark eyes at him. The Uchiha didn’t say anything as he ignored Naruto and moved over the kitchen, the sound of cabinets slamming filling the silent apartment.

“I must say Naruto, I’m very regretful that Sasuke got to you first.” Itachi purred as his eyes raked over the wrapped body. “When he dumps you, please feel free to call me.”

“Itachi!” Mikoto reprimanded as she smacked her son on the arm. “I’m sure that Sasuke would never be that cruel to Naruto!”

Naruto snorted as the family continued to talk about him as if he weren’t there. His arms were starting to fall asleep. He cleared his throat so that he could get some attention and found three pairs of similar dark eyes on him.

“Can I please get some help? I can’t get loose.” Naruto said, flexing his wrists in demonstration of his dilemma.

“Of course Naruto, I would love to help you.” The older Uchiha brother said as he moved to kneel beside the trapped blond. There was a crash from the kitchen, but Sasuke never came storming out. It hurt Naruto to know that Sasuke wouldn’t defend his honor.

Itachi quickly unwrapped his hands, but he had put in a few well placed gropes that had Naruto red in the face. It was evident on Mikoto’s face that she knew what her son had done. Naruto quickly thanked Itachi and found it very difficult to stand.

He looked at Itachi with big blue eyes asking for help since it seemed that Sasuke was otherwise preoccupied. The elder brother smirked as he pulled Naruto forcefully to his feet and the blond landed right in his arms. The blond tried to shimmy away from Itachi but was caught by the strong arms.

It was that moment that Sasuke walked out of the kitchen and the mood in the room fell even further into anger. Naruto could tell by the tense shoulders that his lover was not amused and so he pushed away Itachi, finally breaking free. The blond turned away and took a step towards the bedroom when a loud ripping sound filled the air.

The draft on his groin alerted Naruto to the fact that the paper around his dick had torn considerably and that more than likely everyone saw his bits. He squared his shoulders and walked to the bedroom. He had nothing to be ashamed of and it was high time that he get over his embarrassment.

He shut the door to the bedroom and angrily tore at the wrapping paper that enveloped his body. He silently cursed himself for this stupid idea. He threw the shredded paper to the floor and stalked over to the dresser, angrily pulling the drawer out. He searched the various pairs of underwear until he found his favorite boxers and yanked them out.

When he turned around he was met with the sight of Sasuke leaning on the door jamb, his arms crossed. The expression on his face was unreadable, but Naruto knew the Uchiha well enough to know that he was beyond pissed. The blond hastily slipped his boxers on and sat on the bed.

“I won’t apologize,” the blond stated as Sasuke moved from the door.

“I wouldn’t expect you too.” The Uchiha said as he sat down on the edge of the bed beside Naruto, eyeing the pieces of wrapping paper. “I was angry at you for taking the business trip when your father could have easily went instead.”

The blond sighed as he shook his head. “I’m taking over the company after the New Year. Dad wanted me to close this contract on my own so he would know that I was ready for such a step. I tried to tell you…” The blond shrugged as his sentence died, silence filling the room.

Sasuke sighed heavily. “I should have listened to you but that doesn’t mean that I’m the only one wrong Naruto. I told you that my family was coming over today and you displayed yourself like that!” He spat as he turned furious dark eyes on his lover.

“I wanted your forgiveness! Nothing else seemed to be getting through to you!” Naruto shouted as he stood. “I’m so afraid that you were gonna walk out on me for this! Fuck, if I knew that it would cause this kind of problem I never would have gone, but I thought that you would at least understand!”

“Understand what exactly?” Sasuke asked coldly. “Putting a business trip before your significant other? I never did that to you Naruto.”

The blond growled and turned furious blue eyes to Sasuke. “Oh don’t you dare play that game! Valentine’s Day 2007! You went on a business dinner instead of spending the day with me! You didn’t come home until midnight!”

“Naruto,” Sasuke started to talk but trailed off at the expression on Naruto’s face. His anger at the other man deflated as he knew the blond was right. Naruto had been miserable for months after that particular Valentine’s Day because on top of it being Valentine’s Day, it was also their anniversary. And Sasuke had forgotten about it for months. “I’m sorry.”

The blond was stunned into silence. In all their ten years together Sasuke had never apologized for anything. Naruto let a smile grace his lips as he opened his arms for his lover. “I’m not gonna stay mad at you for this. But Sasuke…why did you take my ornaments down?”

Dark eyes shifted to the side as Sasuke went into the waiting arms. “I was mad and couldn’t stand looking at them because they reminded me that you weren’t here.”

Naruto chuckled, he should have known that would have been Sasuke’s reasoning. “Just because you can’t see me, doesn’t mean I’m not always here.”

Sasuke grumbled something unintelligible into Naruto’s bare shoulder. The blond only chuckled as he tried to guess what the other had said. They stayed like that for a few more moments, both working out the rest of their anger and feeling much better than what they had been since this whole thing started.

The Uchiha was the first to pull away and he smirked at Naruto. “Let’s go put those ornaments up and then I’m going to erase that asshole’s touch from you.”

The blond laughed as he pecked Sasuke on the nose and followed the other out to the living room. He couldn’t help but think that things were perfect even if they were fighting at times. It’s what kept them together he thought, if they didn’t fight then that meant that they didn’t care enough about one another to stay together.

When he entered the living room, he smiled as he saw Sasuke pull the ornaments from under the couch, all of them nestled safely in a small cardboard box resting on a towel. The gentle smile on his lovers’ face was enough to let Naruto that he was still loved. The blond sidled up to Sasuke and kissed the other deeply as the box was held between them. Naruto knew that they would be okay and that once again their problems would work out and that was all that mattered to him.
