Because of Kazoku Ame's low rated success I am placing it on temporary hiatus for now as I have to work on the plot and maybe start re writing it. No worries! I have something to replace it and I am sure it will be enjoyed immensely; I would never let you guys down so here is another multi-chapter; au universe with our favourite characters. This will be a vampire fic and will include Uchiha-cest and if you don't like then please don't read. Pairings - Itachi/ Naruto; Sasuke/Naruto - Itachi/Naruto/Sasuke. Yes; this will be SIN. Minor pairings - only mentions of Kakashi/Naruto Enjoy the story and let me know if you like it: ----------------------------------- The all encompassing darkness was cold and brought with it the dark red that washed the walls, painted the ceiling and soaked through the carpeted floor. The smell of blood permeated the air and fear was a stifling contrast to the utter stillness that surrounded the tainted home. Sobs could be heard throughout the immense darkness. Pain, fear and distress were very clearly woven into those sounds; it was heartbreaking to hear and it also spread a foreboding through the air. "Papa! Why won't you wake up! Please Papa!" Devastating sounds spilled from the tiny form curled up against his father's body. Blue pyjamas soaked in a deep red and tears run down delicately bleeding cheeks; six deep wounds scored chubby cheeks and blood dripped down a delicate neck. Little six-year-old Naruto clung to his Papa's sleeping form; he didn't know what was going on and fear was rushing through his little body. He still remembered when Papa had covered his body with his own and protected him from the bad person that came into the house. Little Naruto was in pain and he was extremely tired; Papa was supposed to hold him and chase away the nightmares and pain but now he wasn't responding to Naruto's crying and a continuous fountain of tears filled large blue eyes; why wasn't Papa holding him and whispering that he loved him? With every breath that he took Naruto felt pain lance through his heart and the salty tears stung his cheeks immensely. Time passed and the darkness of the room began to lighten and a deep red shimmered in front of innocent blue eyes; in all that time Naruto had yet to let go of his father's clothes. His fingers were curled in the soft fabric and he promised himself that he would never let go. Blood was sticky on his cheeks but he never noticed; fighting off the sudden exhaustion that filled his body and tried so desperately to stop the tears that spilled from his eyes. Blue eyes snapped open when he heard the front door open; clinging to his father's body - afraid that the person wanted to take him away from his father. Papa had always warned him never to trust strangers. A tall man stepped into the room; he was dressed in black and looked like someone he had never seen before. Naruto frowned; watching as the dark figure walked closer to him. Long black hair falling over a pale face and the most beautiful red eyes staring at him with great concern. Naruto felt his breath hitch; no one but Papa looked at him with such eyes. When the man opened his arms and beckoned him forward Naruto forgot all about Papa's warning and rushed forward into the man's arms. It was just something in those red eyes that made him move without his consent and as if drawn to the man like a moth to a flame. "What's your name little Chibi?" Such a deep, calm voice; Naruto buried his hand in silky black hair and laid his head on the man's chest and through his sobs managed to answer the man's question. "Well, Naru-Chibi; I'm Itachi." The man said and Naruto nodded; pressing against the kneeling Itachi's chest to get closer to the scent that drifted from the man. It smelled of mint and oranges. He was suddenly overwhelmed by the kindness that he was being shown and no matter how hard Naruto tried; he just couldn't stop his desperate tears and sobs. Naruto shivered slightly when he heard a funny noise spill from Itachi's lips; squirming in the man's arms as a tongue licked at his wounds before a kiss was placed on his forehead. The pain of his wounds on his cheeks immediately faded and the stickiness of the blood was gone. Naruto stared at Itachi with big, innocent eyes as he fought off the fatigue that threatened to overcome him. "Tachi?" Naruto asked; his voice small and frightened but he was ignored; only to be picked up in strong arms as little comforting noises was made in his ear. Naruto whimpered softly; the beautiful man was taking him away from his father! Naruto cried out - arms reaching out to his father's fading form over Itachi's shoulder; desperately trying to bring Papa with him. Naruto sobbed into Itachi's warm clothes when he felt a large hand press his head into Itachi's shoulder. The dark material of his shirt, totally blinding Naruto to his father's bloody corpse. "Hush, little Naruto. I'm taking you to your Jiji-chan until your Papa becomes better." Naruto nodded stupidly; blue eyes looking into red and noticing for the first time that the red eyes had a funny pattern to them and the more Naruto looked. The more he got pulled in and when a tiny kiss was placed on the tip of his nose; blue eyes blinked tiredly. Itachi's gentle features burned into the back of his eyelids. Those eyes had such an impression on his young man that Naruto never forgot them... "Sleep my little Naruto-Chibi; we'll meet again one day and I'll make you mine." That was the last thing he could remember with those captivating eyes; they were the eyes that would eventually haunt his dreams of both nightmares and erotic escapades. ~ Blue eyes snapped open at the incessant blaring of an alarm clock; whisker like marks scrunching in annoyance as a stray foot kicked away the ringing alarm clock. Breaking the tenth one of the year. Naruto tried to burrow deeper under the covers; wanting to get some more sleep. He had a very pleasurable night and his body was lazy; only the images of his dream still haunted him. Like someone that kept tugging at his shirt to tell him to open his eyes and that something was very wrong... Naruto shuddered; foreboding building in him. After that dream he felt as if all his immense energy reserves had burned away; it had been months since he had last had that dream and Itachi's appearance only made him more edgy. Something about that man had been attractive to him even as a six year old and even now whenever he had a dream like that those eyes would pull him in and not let him go for hours on end and the things they could do to him... "Naru-chan! It's time to wake up! We have to leave in an hour." At Kakashi's voice - his on and off lover and also his partner at the police force; Naruto started a little keen spilling from his lips. The youngest ever instated detective of 21 jumped from his bed and rushed towards the bathroom; cursing up a storm that he had slipped back into his memories. To experience that dream again was an indication that dark clouds were coming. It was fifteen years later and Itachi; the strange mysterious man, who had been haunting his dreams, had yet to have a true identity. Naruto hadn't found him in records, hospital papers and the police database. It was his biggest dream to find Itachi and tank him for taking him to his grandfather's house that night. If not he may have disappeared into the social service system and would have had an even harder life. Ero-Sennin at least made things a lot easier for him. Naruto had two other ambition after that and that was to take his father's previous rank as Hokage of the Homicide Division - the highest rank possible in the force and also solving his father's fifteen year old murder; after acquiring the leadership rank and security clearance to proceed with a full investigation. Naruto sighed as he slipped under the spray of the faucet; the water was warm and brushed against his skin pleasantly. Usually when his day started off in confusion and dread; it meant that something really unexpected would happen that would either get him into trouble or would challenge him to his limits. Naruto wasn't sure which one he would prefer but he would take the latter over the former any given day. Something about the unexpected made Naruto afraid and uncomfortable. Time was rushing by him at a fast pace and for once Naruto wished that it would slow down for a bit so that he could take a breath and enjoy his mornings and not have to worry about waking up at an ungodly hour to get to work. "You really should wake up earlier; I won't always be here to wake you Naruto." His partner purred in his ear and Naruto blushed a deep red before trying to shrug it off. Grabbing a stray piece of toast before pulling on his trench coat and black boots; fingers wresting to tie his black and orange tie. Before Naruto could blink it was time to leave and with that he threw the car keys to Kakashi and followed the silver haired man towards the garage; locking the penthouse suite behind him. Silently thanking his still living grandfather for his successful range of erotic books and his generosity in giving him a great place to stay at and a car that everyone envied. It was never a good thing for Naruto to drive when he was still so tired; he realized that when he nearly killed himself in a car accident a few years ago whilst driving from a club utterly exhausted. Chuckling at the memory of his grandfather's sly face as he forced Naruto to read every one of his books whilst he was stuck in a hospital bed for a week. Naruto was desperately trying to ignore the foreboding feeling that settled across his heart; his few happy moments were gone and replaced by a cloud that hung over his head and apparently the sky as well. Naruto had a strange sense for when it would rain or snow - like the day when his father died. It had been the worst snow storm recorded in the City of Konoha and also harboured one of its darkest nights. Naruto could feel it now; the whisper across his skin that told him it was coming again... "Naruto? What's wrong?" Naruto shuddered; not even noticing when a hand rested on his thigh, all he was aware of was the dark feeling that crept over him. "Something just feels wrong." Naruto said honestly; emotionally darkened blue eyes taking in the scenery that was spread before him as the sped towards the police station. The unmarked car a mere blur as it skidded to a halt at a stop street right before the parking lot; the occupants both stopping and deviating away when an urgent call came through. Naruto shivered lightly; he didn't like the sound of that. Nothing was going well today and a murder in front of a club and an unknown male so early in the morning was not something he wanted to deal with. But Naruto sighed and put his emotions away; it was his job and prepared himself mentally for the trauma of the family that he would have to face and the dangers that would come with it. It was just something about the smell of lightning in the air and the feeling of the humidity against his skin that let Naruto know that something wasn't right. ---------------------------- The sleek black car with orange pinstripes came to a screeching stop and Naruto threw himself out of the passenger car door; leaning his hands on his knees as he tried catch his breath. "Fuck you Kakashi! I'm never letting you drive my baby!" Naruto yelled; eyes glaring at his partner who was busy laughing at him delightfully. He could still see his life flashing before his eyes; putting Kakashi behind the wheel of a fast Maserati was just asking for trouble. Naruto could see in the corner of his eye several patrol officers taping off the crime scene. "You like it though; last night I mean and you didn't fuck me I fucked you." Naruto chocked; the silver haired man could be so crude sometimes that it made him blush to the tips of his ears and grind his teeth. Naruto stood back as Kakashi walked into the crime scene; orange book already in hand as mismatched eyes took in the details. Naruto said a quick prayer before he stared up at the sky; the clouds were darkening with precipitation and a streak of blue indicated the start of a thunder storm. A single cold drop plopped on his nose; Naruto pulled his black trench coat around his body a little tighter before slipping underneath the yellow tape. Blue eyes closing for a single moment as he allowed his senses to wander; even from where he was - several metres away - he could smell the pungent scent of blood and ozone. "Naruto?! No! Stay back." Kakashi yelled just when Naruto was a few metres away from the body; frowning at his partners concerned yell. Blue eyes falling to the victim; breath staling the moment he caught a flash of distinctive white hair. The rest was a blur of red and green traditional clothes and bloody geta. Naruto's world tumbled from its axis in a single moment of pain and shock; all exploded behind blue eyes. Memories reminded him that what was before his eyes; he did not want to believe, did not want to see and yet there it was. Couldn't be ignored, couldn't be brushed away as a rude gesture. No; it was real and the sudden realization hit Naruto like a ton of bricks. His beloved Jiji-chan, laying in a pool of his own blood just like his father had several years earlier. Naruto's heart was thundering in his chest; the clouds bursting above him. All the energy, strength and mentality drained from his body and Naruto's legs gave out from under him; dragging him to the pavement below. Images of a life spent with his grandfather flashed before unseeing eyes and the rain and tears completely blinded and deafened him to the world around him. So much so that Naruto didn't even notice as Kakashi pulled him to his feet - yelling orders and managed to get Naruto out of the rain. Naruto was aware of nothing but the pain that was expanding throughout his body and his heart as a source. A single thought seemed to swirl in his mind; his last living relative was dead, murdered and gone and once again Naruto had not been able to do anything. Naruto was retreating back to a six year old mentality, reliving that horrifying night all over again; only now he could see it happen to Jiji-chan too. "First Papa, then Jiji-chan. Am I next?" Naruto mumbled; what would happen if he bled out in the bath that night. Would anyone notice? His and Kakashi's relationship balanced on the edge of love and hate, convenience, and inconvenience. Naruto was sinking in emotions that he hadn't dealt with in a very long time and it was busy tearing him apart from the inside. Something about his thoughts seemed so surreal just as his body felt so numb that he could barely move. "...ing....om...ruto..." Nothing was making sense; Naruto refused to open his eyes - afraid of what he would witness. Not even Kakashi's voice could drag him away from the state of mind that seemed to fall across him. He was moving as if he was a mere puppet of strings and fate was the puppet master. Naruto barely registered when Kakashi pushed him back into bed, gave him a cup of sweet tea and pulled the covers around him. No amount of time could erase the wound that had opened across his heart and no amount of kindness could chase away the demons that swirled in his past. ~ Kakashi felt helplessness for the second time in his life; the first time as he watched as a suspect killed his loving wife and now as Naruto - his beloved Naruto - curled in on himself and cried like a six year old. There was no doubt what Naruto was living through; no one could not know what had happened to Namikaze Minato and little Naruto and Kakashi's heart was breaking. He couldn't bear to watch as Naruto relived his past so he closed the bedroom door and stepped into the living room of the elaborate penthouse; his cell phone had been ringing since nine that morning and Kakashi finally answered one call. "Hatake." He said; his annoyance clear to notice. His frustration and feeling of helplessness pushing through his usually stoic, aloof attitude. "Kakashi; how's Naruto?!" A woman's voice yelled in his ear and Kakashi gripped the phone closer to his ear. The Godaime; current Hokage of the Homicide Division and pseudo grandmother of Naruto had a very brash attitude but even her concern could be heard. Her voice was distressed and Kakashi was sure that he could hear her biting through perfectly manicured nails. "Not good; he's unresponsive and asleep. I think he's sleeping off his grief." There was a collective silence over the phone for several moments before Kakashi heard a sigh. "I'll come by tomorrow afternoon; I'm cooped up at the office with paperwork and I have a court appearance later today. Hatake; do me a favour. Get him out of bed and take him out tonight, don't let him get drunk but get him to talk." Kakashi nodded his consent and grunting an affirmative when he realized she was on the phone. What Tsunade had said left him reeling; he was supposed to take Naruto out for the night. The night that his grandfather died and not get him drunk? What she was asking was nearly impossible. Knowing Naruto; the young detective would do anything to forget what happened. He sighed; that same feeling of helplessness settling over him. Guilt settling over him; he was afraid of what could happen and the way Naruto had become so despondent was really worrying to him. Who knew what thoughts swirled in that pretty little head of him? Kakashi didn't and that bothered him because usually Naruto was an open book but today he had seen a side of Naruto. The traumatized, despondent side that left him feeling hopeless and confused. ----------------------- Naruto hugged his trench coat closer to his body; watching as Kakashi's back became smaller and smaller. Cursing himself for the hurtful words he had said; it was cold and a light rain was still drizzling outside but Naruto didn't notice. He could also be cruel, especially if he didn't want to talk about his pain, fear and sorrows. Kakashi had pushed him a little too far and now as his breath fogged before eyes in the cold and guilt burned a hole in his gut; Naruto turned around and walked deeper into the city. It was a part he was familiar with; the haunts he and Ero-Sennin visited when they went out. Blue eyes blinking at the neon lights of the club across from him. The sign was dark and the darkness surrounding the club definitely had the mood of a gothic club; with his whisker like scars and sorrowful countenance, heavy black boots and skin tight leather pants Naruto knew he would have no trouble slipping inside. Not to mention his pierced lip and eyebrow; yup for a detective he was eccentric but for this club he fit right in. Deciding on slipping inside and getting a drink; his emotions were still too raw and if one were to look closely they would see tears swirl in the depths of emotionally darkened eyes. 'Sharingan Ice' What an odd name Naruto thought to himself; there were symbols plastered all over the entrance walls - a red and white fan and the most odd eye design that was familiar to him. It almost looked like a red eye that had three pupils and next to it was a variation of it; the three extra pupils expanded into an intricate pattern. Naruto wracked his brain, trying to remember where he had seen that before but merely shrugged as he stepped inside the club. It was warm inside the club so he took off his trench coat as he sat at the bar; ordering cold sake before running fingers through damp blonde locks. The music in the back was quiet jazz and the whisper of the saxophone was soothing to his ears; the atmosphere in the club though felt strained and he shuddered as he felt many eyes on him. Merely shrugging it off as he sipped at his sake; trying to forget what had happened earlier that day. His emotions were all over the place but after his first cup of sake Naruto began to feel the numbness in him fade as warmth spread to his cheeks. The music was so soothing that it made him want to fall asleep; gently he swayed to the music - not caring at the lust filled eyes that followed him, nor of the sudden intensity of the room as a large, burly man stepped into the room from an elaborate staircase. "Namikaze-sama?" Naruto stilled; putting down his cup of sake and turning on the bar stool. Frowning at the man that stood before him; under the dim lighting of the club he could have sworn he saw blue skin and beady black eyes. "Yes?" Naruto questioned himself almost; not really sure if he should trust this man. The man merely shrugged beckoning to follow. Naruto sighed, finished his sake and followed after the man. He wasn't afraid; he had his trusty kunai with him - a bit too traditional for the police force but he was adept at using it and very good of making it his main weapon. People hardly noticed it because it could be hidden so well... "Hmm?" Naruto asked as he realized the man had told him something as they came to stop in front of a door. "I said; Uchiha-sama wished to see you." Naruto frowned; he didn't know an Uchiha. The Uchiha's were the owners of the large multinational corporation but Naruto never met them; hell he thought they were mere myth so obscure was their public profiles. "I don't know any Uchiha." Naruto assured; tuning on his heel and ready to walk away only to be stopped by a hand curling around his arm and keeping him from leaving and before he could respond he was shoved into the door. "Bastard!" Naruto hissed loudly as the door shut behind him; blue eyes closing as he tried to compose himself before turning to the source of the presence in the room. "Look; Uchiha-sama - I must be the wrong..." Naruto trailed off; blue eyes widening at the sight that greeted him. Stumbling backward against the door as memories assaulted his mind. Kind red eyes, long black hair and a gentle pale face; Naruto raised a trembling hand to his mouth - stifling his cry of surprise. "Naru-Chibi?" That voice; it confirmed everything. Naruto's body went slack; it was too much too take in. Too much shock he was exposed to in one day; blue eyes fluttering into the back of his head as he lost control of his body. 'Tachi?' ~ The door to the large elaborate office flew open as a darkly dressed figure stormed into the room; red eyes searching but not finding what they wanted. Sasuke growled lowly in his throat as he threw open the private entrance of his brother's 'back' office or play room that wasn't in use that often. It was large with an elaborate silk covered bed and a canopy bed with silk drapes and sure enough; sharpened eyes landed on his brother's form. Itachi was leaning over someone; very tenderly brushing across the person's tanned skin and running through blonde locks. "Nii-san! What's going on! The whole club is restless; something about a human being let in. You know that cannot happen unless one of us authorizes it; so how did it happen!" Sasuke was pissed; he was hungry, upset and his brother was being an ass again. He was startled from his thoughts when he noticed his brother beckon him forward and it was then that he became aware of the sweetest, innocent smell. He was aware of his brother's taller form pressing against his back; arms coming around his waist to pull him closer to his brother's form. Shuddering when he felt his brother's pierced tongue trace his ear and neck. "Do you remember the story I told you about 'The Dark' and 'The Light'?" Sasuke frowned; he remembered but what had a children story of the Uchiha Clan have to do with this beautiful person before him? Sasuke shuddered as his brother scraped a fang across his ear; reminding him he still had a question to answer. "Yes." "Hmm; I see. His smell is different to anything you've smelt before isn't it?" Sasuke nodded; red Sharingan eyes closing as he leaned back into his brother's touch. The scent that drifted in his nose was making his mind spin and his fangs lengthen; he wanted a taste of the sweet blood... "Well; I found this little gem fifteen years ago. The embodiment of 'The Light' and he's ours now." ----------------------- That's it for now Duckies; I hope you guys enjoyed it. Drop me a review, rating or even questions. I'll try and answer as many as I can. Ja Na SSP
