Please Read Author's note first!
I couldn't not write this; not after I saw the fourth Naruto Shippuuden Movie; The Lost Tower. This is a multichapter surrounding the end of that film and if you haven't watched it then this might not make any sense. Please try and to read at least read the plot summery so that it might make sense if you decide to read this story. I am warning now; this story is heavily angst and contains a deaf Naruto. If you do not like that idea please don't read and as the warning states this story is an Incest story; meaning it is Namikaze-cest. A Minato/Naruto pairing. Lastly; the prologue is relatively short compaired to the length I want to make these chapter and they will be long which wil also mean that it will take longer to update as well. Sorry if that is an inconveniece. And now; thank you for reading this as it is important. Let's begin. Important Notes: 'Thoughts' 'flashback/memory' 'Telpathic link' "Talking" --------------------------------- Naruto felt his word spinning as pain lanced up through his entire body; he was so tired as he felt tears forming in the corner of his eyes. This man in front of him, he couldn't really be who he thought he was could he? Naruto looked deep into blue eyes and a flash of recognition sparked in him and he felt an overwhelming amount of sorrow. He wanted to curl in on himself and disappear; he was hurting and the incessant ringing in his ears didn't want to fade. His mind was spinning as he knelt before this man; heart breaking at the simple words he had said. 'If I ever have a son; Naruto, I hope that he will be just like you.' That gentle voice, calm blue eyes and smile; he knew that small smile because it was just like his when he smiled genuinely and properly. He wanted to speak but he couldn't; he couldn't even hear. The ringing in his ears had faded but now only dark and empty silence surrounded him. He was confused as he knew he should be hearing something as the screaming from the people and Yamato-tiachou was talking somewhere behind, he could see it in the corner of his eye but he couldn't hear it. He felt himself fading from this time period but he didn't want to. 'I don't want to!' His mind screamed at him. This was where Jiraiya was still alive; where he belonged. Where he wanted to be. Bewildered blue eyes looked around and he saw Yamato-tiachou's entire form nearly transparent enough as he faded back to his correct time period and Naruto felt his heart freeze; lifting transparent hands and staring at them bewildered. Minato had said that he had erased his memories from his mission but he could still remember every single detail. How he had exhausted himself in a fight against the puppet master; a Rasen-shuriken that depleted his chakra completely and how he could feel Kyuubi's heated chakra ready to take its place but Minato had saved him and taken him away from that fate. 'I can't form anymore chakra! It's impossible.' He had yelled and even then Minato had only given him a small smile. 'I can mould it for you; Naruto.' Those words made Naruto want believe every thing the older man was saying but he couldn't; not when he knew that it was impossible. 'Impossible,' he had said simply but sternly. 'The Rasengan was a technique created by the Yondaime and only Ero-sennin and I can still use it.' He said defeated but a small surge of hope filled him as he felt a warm hand settle over his gently and familiar, warm chakra flooded over his palm. 'Then I can do it too.' Minato had said softly and Naruto only stared with wide blue eyes as a perfectly formed Rasengan appeared in his hand; he had felt relief wash through him and couldn't forget the touch of Minato's chakra in his palm. Nor could he fathom the rightness he felt when Minato's own Rasengan began moulding itself together with his. The transparent palm of his right hand was still tingling from their combined, Super-Rasengan. He could feel tears build in his eyes; he didn't want to forget, he didn't want to leave. Not when he had just found the most important man in his life...His father... He became distinctly aware of a dizziness assaulting his mind and he felt ill; swaying on his feet as white blinded his eyes. He felt hopeless and afraid, just like when he was a child and the villagers had chosen to teach him a lesson. He had never told anyone about that day; it was locked away in the darkest recesses of his mind where no one would ever find it but he was hurt and right now those feelings were surfacing within him. With a last ditch effort he pitched forward and gripped onto Minato's shirt; tears shimmering in his blue eyes as it felt as if his world was tearing itself apart. He could feel Kyuubi's chakra bubbling to the surface but he forced it down; he didn't want to burn Minato or hurt him. But he wanted to bind himself to this time period so that he didn't have to go back to his pain and fear of being alone for the rest of his life. His forehead connected with Minato's as metal plates of two very different hitai-ates came into contact; a stream of chakra flowed between them as Naruto fought to ground himself. Depthless blue eyes connected with his and he formed a small smile; mouth forming words that didn't want to escape. 'Don't leave me Dad.' It was desperate and he could still not hear a thing but he saw the turmoil of his own life reflected in Minato's eyes and a hitched breath left him before his world went completely black and then white again. Pain exploded in him, around him and made his back arch as a silent scream ripped from his lips. A silent prayer whispered to any deity that would listen and not take him away from this small happiness he had found nearly twenty years in the past. 'DON'T LEAVE ME AGAIN!' ~ Minato knew something went wrong the moment Naruto grabbed a hold of his shirt and the clang of their hitai-ates sounded loud in the air. Naruto was still engulfed in a bright light but he could feel that Naruto wasn't fading as he was supposed to. It was the feeling of their chakra resonating off of one another as it flowed in a stream between them that alerted him to the small sparks of pleasure that raced up his spine. The stream of chakra connecting their foreheads was forming an unmistakable bond between the two of them; one he could not explain nor understand completely. All he knew was that unexpected pleasure raced through him and his heart was breaking at the same time as he watched those expressive blue eyes of Naruto dull in pain. 'Don't leave me Dad.' He could make out those words as they were mouthed by Naruto; heart stuttering in his chest with something warm and comforting. He had to clench his eyes shut as white light completely engulfed the blond shinobi. Minato winced slightly when he felt Naruto's body shift and tumble into his lap; unconscious, solid and nowhere near where he was supposed to be twenty years in the future. He could feel several eyes on him and he ignored them; instead he focused on Naruto now resting in his lap. He didn't know what had come over but he had this sudden craving to touch Naruto and made sure he was real. So carefully he ignored his teammates and indulged in that strange feeling. Gentle fingers brushing away a few stray blonde bangs from Naruto's hitai-ate as he really looked at Naruto, blue eyes tracing every single detail; he was fascinated by those whisker like marks. Fingers tracing them lightly; they felt too smooth to be a scar but too rough to be birthmark. They felt almost like real whiskers, it was an odd sensation but not one that disgusted him. In fact it felt nice against his fingers he frowned as he wondered what could have caused them. He was violently pulled from his musings by Kakashi's annoyed voice. "Minato-sensei? Shouldn't he have gone back?" Minato looked up and found grey eyes locked with his. "I don't know but I don't think he'll be going back. We better get moving; Sarutobi-sama is going to get worried." He said with a frown; deep down he didn't Naruto to go back to his time. Silently and with fluid movements he picked Naruto's unconscious form onto his back and took off; his teammates all following him. He shivered slightly as the change in the wind direction swirled san particles against his face; blinking furiously to try and keep the dust from settling in his eyes; maybe even regretting that he had misplaced his ANBU mask and couldn't seem to find it. He shook his head in amusement before turning his attention back to his movements; ears sensitive to any deviation in the breathing of Naruto on his back. One day, it would take them one day to reach Konoha's gates and he was determined to make it there in no more than a day; relaying his order and the urgency of Naruto's situation it was decided that only one stop would be made for the night and then they would set up camp for the evening. His teammates were behind him and for once he was glad about that as he felt a small blush blossom across his cheeks. His skin was very sensitive and Naruto rested against his back so that his head rested against his neck. Some of those blonde strands has snuck into his shirt and was tickling his neck and on top of that he could feel Naruto's small puffs fanning across his neck and scalp as it caressed the already sensitive area. "It's about time we set up camp." Minato was startled from his less than appropriate thoughts and berated himself. Just managing to keep the heavy blush from his mind. Aburame Shibi's voice had pulled his attention to the night sky; stars glittered and the moon was already out. Minato nodded to his team and signalled them to follow his lead; his feet carrying him to a clearing he knew not too far from their current location. The wind was picking up around them again and a sudden chill settled over the clearing. Minato gave a small sigh as he began unpacking his things and setting up the camp. Giving grateful nods to his subordinates that worked to set everything up whilst he tended to their newest addition. He knew Naruto carried a large scroll over his black and red cloak, it must have been a storage scroll but he didn't want to pry so instead he unrolled his own bedroll and laid the smaller blonde on the spread sheets. "Naruto." The name felt warm on his tongue and he smiled and just as he was about to turn away he caught sight of Naruto; now sprawling across the bedroll. How could such a strong Shinobi be so innocent as to let his guard down completely; he wondered. Only now did he realize he was alone with as the others went to finish different tasks. Minato found himself flushing red as he saw Naruto's jacket riding up and exposed beautifully tanned flesh of his stomach. It was smooth, unmarred with scars and looked utterly delectable. He was about to turn away when his eyes caught something now visible on smooth tanned flesh. "What is that?" He asked himself softly as he examined the intricate black swirling pattern that seemed to appear out of nowhere. He frowned as he bent over to examine image; his fingers unwittingly reaching out and following the intricate swirling pattern. Amazed as the pattern responded to his touch and swirled faster. There's no mistake, his mind supplied for him that this was one hell of a complicated seal and holding back something big. But what would be sealed in such a young body? And why the hell was it responding to his touch? He was pulled from his confused thoughts violently by Choza's hearty laugh behind him. "This is a first; the great Namikaze Minato is into boys." He flinched as if an electric shock had passed through him and he pulled away his hand from their placement on Naruto's stomach. "Oh no don't let me interrupt your molestation of this pure hearted little boy." The large man chuckled heartily. A dark blush blossoming across his cheeks as he averted his eyes and stammered out an apology. Choza merely smiled as he continued to tease the blonde haired shinobi mercilessly. --------------- It wasn't long after that events turned violent and dangerous. Minato felt several chakra's clashing and Kakashi's chakra was heading towards them in a hurry. The silver haired Kakashi came barrelling into the clearing with calculating eyes, panting breaths and looking slightly dishevelled. "Missing-nin; four and heading in this direction. Shibi-sama told me that he can't keep them at bay for long and that they already discovered our camp site." Minato took in the information calmly as he worked on a strategy; he just hoped that it would work. In situations like these; where tensions between hidden villages were high as they rested on the brink of another great war, it was best to act first and ask questions later. He stood a little straighter as he snapped orders. Taking his position close to Naruto; protecting him even though he was technically not deemed a part of his team. Four kunai resting between each of his fingers as he waited; Kakashi had began setting up various traps that would go off when needed and Choza was a few metres from him. Ready to use his specialized family jutsu. That also gave them a high advantage and the fact the chakra signatures he could pick up was no bigger than chuunin level. He couldn't explain why he had opted to protect Naruto but he felt as if it was what he needed to do; he didn't even have much information on the young shinobi but he couldn't deny the strange bond that had been developed. It wasn't long until Shibi made his way back to the clearing; two missing nin's close in his pursuit. It was good; he could see the blood coating one of Shibi's kunai that meant he had at least taken care of one or two of the enemy. However he couldn't shake the feeling of foreboding that spread through his body in a cold shiver. He was forced to move as a volley of kunai were aimed at Naruto. His movements were a blur as he deflected every single kunai before moving forward and engaging the shinobi who had launched the volley. Too late did he realize it was a ploy to get him away from Naruto so that it left the blond teen open for an attack. His attention wavered between moving back but it was taken away by the other missing nin. Sighing in relief as he saw Choza move in to protect Naruto. His attention snapped back to his opponent as he heard the unmistakable sound of a chakra enhanced Fuuma Shuriken. He was about to use his speed to get out of the way when he felt another body slam him into the ground. His heart stopped when he heard the unmistakable sound of metal sinking into flesh and the feeling of blood splattering on his face. Strangely all he was aware of in that moment was the strange scent of spring rain, must ramen and summer sunshine. It was then that his eyes focused on the face above him and the heady smell of blood invaded his senses. Minato became distinctly aware of a smaller body pinning his to the ground; blonde hair like sunshine was the first feature that registered in his mind. Blue eyes locked with his and he felt his heart stutter. They held such deep seated sadness that made him want to wipe away at the tears he saw forming in those eyes. Concern formed in the pit of his stomach as he saw blood trickling from ruby red lips and steadily onto his cheek. He could taste some of the stray drops; it was familiar and heady but urged his fear to the fore front of his mind. Minato's deepest fears were confirmed as his eyes took in the image before him; the large weapon buried in flesh and sticking out of Naruto's back. Blood soaking through Naruto's cloak and turning it a deeper red. Naruto's forehead dropped against his softly; their breaths mingling together as chakra swirled between them. In that moment nothing could interrupt the silent exchange that happened between them; he saw images flicker before his eyes but none of them made sense. Before he could ponder them; they were gone. In that single second he wanted to scream at Naruto for protecting him. Yet; deep down he knew that Naruto couldn't be blamed for his actions. The younger shinobi hadn't known about his superior speed and his special jutsu. Looking deep into those blue eyes he saw the relief and happiness reflected there and that simple fact made his fear for Naruto's life flare again. He stiffened as he felt soft lips brush against his softly. 'I'm glad I got here in time.' The words echoed through his mind and Minato froze; Naruto's lips still pressed against. It was strange, Naruto hadn't spoken and yet he heard him? What was going on... "Naruto?" Minato said weakly; blue eyes slightly dulled but shimmering with a unknown happiness he could not fathom. 'I didn't want you to see this.' It happened again and Minato felt his mind reeling; just what was going on? He knew Naruto hadn't uttered a word but he could understand his thoughts perfectly. He watched intently as blue eyes locked with his hardened in determination; eyes widening when he saw Naruto's hand reaching back and pulled the heavy metal weapon from his back. It made a soft thud as it buried itself in the bark of a nearby tree. Naruto then gracefully flipped backwards; chakra clearly aiding his movements. Minato was stunned; was Naruto really that determined that he didn't even feel the pain of that injury? He wondered how the blond could even move. Blue eyes followed Naruto's movements as he faced off with the missing nin; it seemed to be the leader of the group and the last standing shinobi. Minato was aware that all the other Konoha Shinobi had stopped to watch as Naruto took on his opponent head on. The way he moved was almost with a fox like grace and added speed; almost just as fast as Minato. So his speed was rivalled in this shinobi? He felt it then; a strange chakra flitting in the air and bringing with it a scent of fire, hatred and destruction. It was potent and heavy; and yet just as fast as it appeared it disappeared . Blue eyes focused on Naruto and noticed the enemy shinobi on the ground, covered in blood and defeated. Naruto was swaying on his feet as blood dripped from the wound on his back. ~~A mere minute earlier~~ Naruto awoke suddenly; the heady feeling of violently clashing chakras alerted him to the state of his new friends. Yet, strangely he couldn't hear a thing; that small fact sent panic lancing up his spine before he pushed to the back of his mind and focused on his surroundings. Blue eyes immediately locking onto on an unknown shinobi throwing a Fuuma Shuriken towards Minato. He didn't think; he couldn't hear and his body moved on its; he became aware of his dire situation as he felt his body slam into Minato. The older blonde shinobi was thrown to the hard ground below, just as the large shuriken buried itself in his shoulders. Pain exploded behind his eyes and he felt blood bubbling in his mouth. He had gotten there in time and that was all that mattered. His mind replayed one his most prized and cursed nights; flashing images of Iruka and Mizuki and the night he had learned the truth of what resided inside of him... He briefly wondered if this was what it felt like for Iruka-sensei when the older nin had thrown himself in danger to save a precious person from danger. He felt a small sense of satisfaction and accomplishment that he made it in time; yet through the haze of the pain and Kyuubi's chakra licking at his chakra pathways he tried to project his words to Minato. He bent forward and placed a small kiss on Minato's lips; where this sudden need for affection came from but he couldn't stop himself. Tasting his own blood on the man's lips made his heart flutter in his chest as he tried to convey the love he felt and speak words that he couldn't at the moment. 'I'm glad I got here in time.' He sent a silent thank you to Kyuubi as he felt the fox shift in his cage and start yelling at him for being stupid and still healing his wound. He smiled slightly before hardening his resolve; allowing the kitsune some free reign with his potent chakra. 'I didn't want you to see this.' Naruto thought and wished to say to Minato as he felt Kyuubi start to respond to his hatred and rage. No one should have dared to hurt a newly discovered loved one and try to lay a finger on his father; it still felt odd to think that as he could feel an attraction between him and this shinobi. Violently he pushed his emotions away; he had an enemy to deal with and he was getting ready for an attack again. Elegant fingers curled defiantly around the Fuuma Shuriken as he pulled it from his back; not even feeling the pain as Kyuubi worked to close the wound. He smiled sadly; his body felt out of tune and he felt slightly dizzy but he wasn't going to give up. Pulling the last ounces of his chakra and a bit of Kyuubi's as he moved towards his opponent as fast as possible. His movements came easily to him and his opponent wasn't much to fear so he didn't even need to bring up a Kage Bunshin to aid him with this fight. The only slightly worrying thing was that Naruto knew something was wrong; he still couldn't hear a single sound even when he knew his kunai clanged against his opponents and then scored across flesh. 'Watch me; all I've learnt since Ero-sennin died.' His words of a mere day ago echoing in his mind; the sudden influx of sorrow distracting him from his task at hand. Luckily he had managed to stop the kunai from burying itself in a vital organ; he grimaced slightly at the pain but pushed it away; allowing his protective nature to flow through him. He would do whatever it took to keep Minato safe. Blue eyes becoming red and slitted as his whisker like marks darkened; allowing Kyuubi's feral power to spurn him on. He didn't even blink as his kunai dug into flesh; ruby red blood running over his fingers. The sight and smell was heady to his taxed mind and he hissed as he pushed it aside; pushing Kyuubi's chakra deep down into the seal. He really didn't want Minato to see him in this state nor did he want to flaunt his biggest secret. He sighed as he felt his legs giving out beneath him; the wound on his back still dripping a steady stream of blood but mostly faded completely. In his dazed mind he could feel gentle hands on his shoulders; looking over his shoulder to stare into blue eyes. Heartfelt concern reflected there; it was heart warming for his taxed emotions and soothing to his confusion. He shivered slightly as he felt those hands help him to his feet; protesting when he felt fingers start pulling at his cloak. He wanted to fight Minato off and yell to say that he was fine but he couldn't; not when that stern glare was focused on him. He felt deft fingers divest him from his jacket and undershirt and wince when hands skimmed the outer edges of his wound. Naruto was aware of periodic breaths puffing against his neck and shoulders that indicated the Minato was speaking to him but he couldn't hear. He shuddered violently as fear and panic settled over his heart; it finally hit him. His breath coming in raspy pants; hyperventilating rapidly as the world shifted and imploded in on itself. He was living in a nightmare! He finally found his most important person and now he couldn't hear! He couldn't hear! He couldn't hear! His mind repeated over and over again. As if ingraining the words across his hear in a deep wound. Desperately panicked blue eyes turned to Minato; not even the great concern he saw reflected there could stop his sudden bout of panic. Nails bit into his palm as his frantically searched for answers but found none. 'I can't hear!' He screamed in his mind as he waved his arms frantically. He was losing himself to his emotions; waving at his ear and shaking his head frantically in a desperate attempt to make Minato understand. His fingers gripped blonde hair and pulled at the blond bangs; the pain not dimming the dread that had settled over him. He tried to say it but he had no way of knowing if sound even passed through his lips. He felt hands not his own grip at his wrists as they dragged his fingers from blond hair; holding them in a strong grip to prevent them from causing more damage. Unfocused blue eyes locked with dark blue; understanding shimmering there. The single nod from Minato telling him that the older nin had understood his frantic movements. It was odd, the sudden feeling of being engulfed in warmth. Minato had pulled him into an embrace and ran soothing hands through his hair as little circles were traced at the back of his neck. He wasn't used to comfort but yet; this felt so right. He melted into the comfort and allowed his emotions to overwhelm him. Shoulders shaking with the force that assaulted his senses. 'Hush, Naruto I've got you.' He frowned; he could have sworn he heard Minato's voice. It was strange but at this moment his mind was too tired to try and make sense of it. Chakra was passed between them, resonating off of one another before Naruto slumped forward. Energy completely drained from his body and making him lose his awareness of the world around him. All he knew was Minato's comforting touch against his skin as darkness swirled around him and surround him in much needed warmth. Mercifully taking him away from his distress in a warm embrace. ------------------------ Minato shifted Naruto's weight against his back; the unconscious blond had yet to wake up. He had been locked in unconsciousness since the incident mere hours ago. After Naruto had passed put in his arms; he had refused to spend the night in that clearing. The smell of Naruto's blood too much of a reminder of the suffering Naruto had suffered. He just hoped that Naruto would be able to recover from this; his fondness for the sunny shinobi had engulfed his entire body. They had travelled through the forest the entire night without stopping and now as dawn broke over Konoha he felt relief flood through him. He was finally home... "Shibi, Kakashi. Go get the Hokage and bring him to the hospital. Tell him it is a matter of utmost importance. Choza can you please fetch Inouichi-san?" Nods answered his commands; he knew they had questions that needed to be answered but they still obeyed his orders. With added speed he took to the roofs of Konoha and travelled the shortest path towards the hospital. Naruto needed medical attention and he needed it now! His sense of urgency never fading. He wasn't a trained medic-nin but he knew the signs of a coma and Naruto seemed to have fallen into one. Concerned Minato threw open the double doors and yelled for a medic-nin. He wasn't aware of the long wait as he was taken to a waiting room and told Naruto would be taken care of. He wasn't expecting the Hokage's arrival until nightfall as he knew it would take time to convince the older man to come and they had one hell of a report to fill out. He hung his head in his hands; deaf. Naruto was deaf and he didn't know what caused it. He shivered lightly as he remembered Naruto's realization of the fact. It had been heartbreaking to watch; those blue eyes cloud with panic and pain. He knew something was wrong but he didn't know what. He heard it then; the loud shout in his ear even though Naruto didn't open his mouth to speak. 'I can't hear!' It was an odd sensation that travelled through him; as if a link between them had been formed mentally. He didn't know what to do as he had watched Naruto fall apart so he did what he thought was right. Offering comfort to the distraught teen. He allowed his mind to drift through the last few days; carefully analyzing any detail that could have rendered Naruto deaf. The only conclusion he could come up with was the combined Rasengan they had formed; the shuddered as he remembered the blissful feeling of their chakra combining to form such a strong technique. He was dragged from his thought by the incessant calling of his name. "Minato-sama?" The medic-nin wasn't one he recognized but he nodded. Indicating that the man had his attention. "We did everything we could, Minato-sama. Your friend is healing unnaturally fast and he has a strange chakra source in his body but other than he will pull through. A mere day or two before he regains consciousness." Minato felt a sigh of relief leave his breaths but he knew something wasn't said as he could see the medic-nin shifting nervously in front of him. "What is it?" He asked sternly; dread filling through him. He just knew that this had to do with Naruto's hearing. "It was found that your friend will most likely never be able to hear again. I'm not sure what caused it but that connection to his brain was severed completely as well as his internal hearing." It was just as he feared. He could feel emotions bubbling to the surface; it hurt to even think about it. "Take me to him." Minato said simply, not hearing anything the medic-nin said. Right now he needed to see Naruto. The teen that had captured his heart in less than forty-eight hours. He was lead to a single room where Naruto was asleep; he could see no additional medical equipment except the medical mask across his mouth and nose. The constant fogging of the plastic a good indication that Naruto was still breathing. He could see white bandages peaking out from the white covers; at least Naruto's wounds were properly bandaged. "The damage seems irreversible Minato-sama but he'll pull through." Minato was aware of a hand on his shoulder and realized the medic-nin was trying to comfort him. He sighed and gave a nod; dismissing the man before allowing his blue eyes to rake over Naruto's form. Guilt settling through him heavily... "Inouichi-sama might be able to asses the damage in more detail Minato-sama. He might also be able to open a telepathic link between Naruto and a special person that he can trust." Minato heard the words and gave a nod; some of his pain fading at those words. It would help that Naruto wouldn't have to suffer silence the rest of his life. He gave a grateful smile. "Do you want me to contact him?" "There's no need. I already contacted him. He'll arrive with Hokage-sama in a few hours." With that the last of the medic-nin's presence faded and Minato turned back to Naruto; his hand curling in Naruto's softly. He made a silent promise to never leave Naruto's side again; eyes closing as he allowed himself a bit of rest before a long meeting was about to commence and many troubled questions from the Hokage. ~ "So you see Hokage-sama even though Naruto defeated the puppet master who absorbed the seal; he didn't go back to his own time. It's as if he is bound to this time and cannot leave." Minato said softly as he concluded his report to the Hokage; Naruto was still asleep a few metres away from them. Watched as the famed 'Professor' observed Naruto's peacefully sleeping form. The moon was high in the night sky as midnight rapidly approached. He could see the calculations and analysis running behind wizened dark eyes. "As fascinating as this is Minato-kun; I don't understand why I am here." A different voice stated and Minato turned to stare teal eyes and long sandy coloured hair reaching way down the man's back. Minato sighed as he steeled himself for the inevitable. He could see Sarutobi-sama's confused stare as well so he began his explanation. "Something made Naruto lose all of his ability to hear. I'm not sure what caused it and I need you to assess the damage and also form a telepathic link between me and him." The room was completely silent except for the continuous rush of air from the oxygen tank feeding Naruto enriched oxygen to speed up his heeling process. "Are you sure you want to take that burden upon yourself Minato?" The Hokage said seriously; he didn't look angry only thoughtful. Minato gave a serious nod; he wasn't laying. He would take Naruto and make him his own. "Very well; Inouichi-san I want you to examine him for now. We can form the telepathic link when Naruto-kun is awake and well." Sarutobi said as he puffed at his pipe; turning serious eyes towards Minato with something ain to pride shining in those depths. "I want you to take him in and look after him; train with him. Assess his strength; I want a detailed report on Naruto-kun by the end of the week so I can instate him in a proper rank." With those words the Hokage left the room with only Naruto, Inouichi, Choza, Shibi and Minato. All staring at Minato with wide eyes before moving away again. Inouichi approached the bed where the teen was fast asleep; teal eyes observing the young shinobi. Even in his sleep he could sense that Naruto was extremely powerful; maybe even stronger than the Hokage. A long and difficult take awaited those connected to this boy; he could feel it but he knew it would be worth it. "I'll do it tomorrow with the detailed examination." He said softly; fingers brushing at blonde locks. Not for the first time noticing the uncanny differences between Minato and Naruto. He smiled and left; two other people followed him out. All except Minato who quietly sat in the chair next to Naruto's bed; taking his place at the blonde's side to stay the night. --------------------------------- ------------------------------------ All rates, reviews and questions are welcome.
