Author's Note:
They say an author's best time of inspiration is when they are at their worst times in their life. So here's mine. Well, a one-shot, but if it's requested that I write more on it then I will. Otherwise it's remaining a one-shot.

I'll probably be writing more as the summer goes on. Lawls. I'm so bored right now it's pathetic. But a good time for inspiration as any is in the summer-time. Ne?

The scars on his wrists spoke the truth. He glanced down at them. Small reminders of the past, to keep with him. The pain came again, and this time he allowed it to consume him whole. He didn't care anymore if he lived or died.
He just wanted it to stop. The pain, he meant. He had forgotten what it was like to feel 'whole' with himself. He had to push himself up off the ground once more. Naruto wasn't at all surprised that he felt this defeated over something so small.
He was weak. He knew he was. Even Sasuke had said something about that earlier. "You're weak. What makes you think you could ever measure up to me?" That arrogant prick.
What did you think would happen, you idiot? If you got close to him like that? What did you think you would find? Happiness? He didn't seem happy at all. His muscles tensed up. Why such agony over one person? Was it really the bond between two friends that made it this hard?
His face. Naruto only wished to hear his voice once more, but that wouldn't happen. Not in a million years. He was gone, and he should just face facts. But his presence still lingered. He remembered the feeling of being next to Sasuke. Almost like...an older brother or something.
He didn't know what it was like to have family. To have those kind of ties like Sasuke did. But...for some reason he felt something for the other male. It was quite sad. He shivered, in the rain it seemed like the down-pour would never end, exactly like his own saddness.
Would he ever get over this dread? This...insignificant feeling of emotion towards another person that no longer existed in his life? He would put on a smile for their old friends, but it still hurt like hell to know that he was gone. To know that he'd probably never come back.
"Sasuke..."
What are you doing this moment? Are you looking at the stars the same as I am right now? Are you hurting, too? You would never admit it before, would you? That you felt pain inside. That you cared deep down. But why was that reason? We're human, aren't we?
I remember a time and place that you once stood before me...looking in my eyes with such care and affection that you were meaning to tell me something that was on your mind. But why did I care? I hated you so much that you became my rival. That -we- became rivals. Everyone was so...fond of you. I guess I was jealous, to be honest, I never really took the time to ask you about it, did I?
He was stubborn. Did everything on his own and in the end? He failed like the Foolish little knuckle-head that he was. Was he really that pathetic? To be so low of a person to not understand his best friend?
Was it just pathetic that he cared about his friend? Pathetic that he wanted the best for him and even loved the bastard for who he was without the other male realizing it? Maybe he did. Naruto wasn't sure.
Sasuke never spoke a word, but he didn't have to. His actions spoke louder than his words. Sasuke was not a man of many words of affection. Everyone knew that. Sasuke hid himself from the world except for with his fighting abilities.
The rest was plain to see on his face. He was hurting inside, but no one knew how to make him happy. No one could fix his broken heart or the broken bonds he had lost.

"No, it wasn't meaningless....Killing you now would make it even more meaningful to break that bond."

"Sasuke. Why would you do this? Why?"

....."SASUKE!"

Please...Tell me why. I can't live without you. Please.

"Get lost. Loser."

Naruto's eyes widened as he departed. Sitting up in his bed as he got up quickly, looking around his empty bedroom for any signs of Sasuke, but there were none. He was gone, and there was nothing he could do.
He curled his legs to his chest. Pulling himself together piece by piece. Sasuke was gone. Why couldn't he just move on and accept it?
