AN: Hello everyone. I am a first time writer... well this is my first time letting so many people read them and I hope we will all get along. Hah I sound a wee bit formal. Anyways I am in a bit of a predicament, seeing as this is my first fanfic as well. It is not beta tested nor is their another chapter just yet. I am also unsure if I want to end the chapter here, its weird because this is the shortest chapter I have ever written of anything.
SO! I am looking to you guys to see if this is worth writing or at least sharing. Also I'm not quite sure but I may need a beta, who may also be reeding my original stories I hope to toss on this site. Well Im talking too much. Enjoy and let me know what you all think. Because if you don't... well there is no way this is serviving. But don't worry I wont be cruel if their at least a few who want to see one more chapter. Chapter three is when I will take on my throne as evil. Ch1: The Unveiling It had been two years sense Sasuke and Sai first started living together, an arrangement spurred on by their family ties, which Sasuke would never own up to… ever. Sai being an insatiable painter had paintings covering his room, and Sasuke was quick to make it a rule that none of them leave said room for obvious reasons, the man had no tact. Lewd pictures of men and woman filled his human form obsessed portfolio, and he could not for the life of him draw a line between appropriate and pornographic, except in one case. A tan honey skinned male reclining against drapery, his eyes looking away detached in elegant thought, and his one leg rising up to support a falling hand. The leg seemed like an intentional act of the blonds to cover himself modestly, but no embarrassment showed on his face. Only blue pools swarming with emotions, too many to count, but one emotion overpowered the others, Solemnity. The piece was placed in the middle of their shared apartment smack dab in the center of a bare wall of their living room. Standing out proudly and elegantly illuminated as if a curator had come into the space on the day of its birth and planned its structure to fit that one painting. And because of this it was hard for Sasuke to ignore. The night of its unveiling Sai gazed at it lovingly standing back to admire his latest masterpiece. He gave it no title, he believed it spoke for itself, but if one asked for one he would say there were many that ran through his mind. They were thoughts that the portrait inspired rather than actual labels. Kitsune or perhaps Injured. Maybe even Wounds of a Lonely Past. Either of those fit, but only a piece of the work, there was so much more there. There was cockiness, despite the lack of said genitalia. There was a coy playfulness in the way his loose arm pulled his leg slightly, angling it for anyone facing him to get a delicious view, but his angle and detachment seemed to mock those who would never be able to see. There was even a form of joy in the swirling blue eyes, the radiant golden locks, and the cheeks wrinkled by his laughter that not too long before Sai started had rang through the air of his studio. Really there was no single way to define all the emotion in that single body and Sai thought it best not even to attempt it. He decided to just leave the piece a mystery to the viewer, well until they two were attacked by its power, the raw power of an emotional and at times idiotic and fiery kitsune. Sai dismissed himself from the piece to change from his paint and charcoal covered clothes. His roommate would erupt into a fury of satanic evil that only Sasuke Uchiha was capable of if Sai even dared to get one blackened finger print on anything outside of his room. And believe him the man was evil despite his stoic appearance; there was no way to ignore it after knowing the man for so long. Sai would never paint him, unless he wanted to scar innocent children around the world. Naked people were one thing, evil was entirely different. As soon as Sai left the room and shut his door an exhausted raven kicked open the front door as if the mindless object was responsible for his hellish day. He threw his things to the side, loosened his tie, and blindly stomped past the living room to the kitchen to set up a kettle of tea. But we would never really describe his actions so inelegantly, he was an Uchiha after all, Uchiha’s were graceful and the epiphany of perfection. So to keep with his role we would say he gracefully laid down his well kempt brief case by the table at the door, before elegantly striding to the kitchen. Where he prepped his tea with ease, before elegantly falling to the couch and turning on the midnight news. That was better, that was how he would act say if anyone was present, he was an Uchiha after all. It was only after he had gotten his tea and had finally calmed himself down that he took a moment to look at the object in the corner of his eye that his eyes swore had never been there before. And when he looked at it… well there is no possible way to give this an air of Uchiha greatness… his tea hit the ground and he shot up from his seat, nearly falling over onto the glass coffee table in front of him. Enraged he stomped off towards Sai’s room and rasped his balled up fist against the light wood frame. Sai opened the door and regretted it immediately. A furious Sasuke was burning a hole into his sole as the innocent man struggled to think of an excuse for whatever he had done. He was sure he didn’t leave any marks anywhere, not even one his Hubble telescope of a roommate could find, yet here he was on the receiving end of the notorious Uchiha glare. Why him?! “What is that?” The dark haired man hissed between clenched teeth with one arm swinging out violently to point at the blond hanging on the living room wall. “It’s called a painting Uke.” Sai deadpanned, holding his panic back so it wouldn’t show in his voice. “First of all do not use that disgusting and horribly inaccurate pet name ever again; I thought we had ‘discussed’ that? And second you know what I mean Sai. Why is you’re crap on a wall and outside of your room?” At hearing the disturbing pet name the man’s voice grew from a hiss to a livid growl and Sai really had to try not to back into his room. That would be cornering himself, and he had seen enough animal planet to know to avoid that scenario. Plastic surgery is expensive…. “By ‘discuss’ do you mean that time you karate chopped my neck and the next thing I knew I was tied up and thrown in a closet? That discussion?” “Yes Sai that ‘discussion’. I thought you had learned.” Sasuke’s hands were clenched tight and Sai wasn’t sure if his eyes were going crazy or if there really was blood trickling down his palm. And if so didn’t that mean he was in the clear for any mess he may have caused? Blood stained worse than even the reddest paint. “Um, I learned that you have a kinky way of teaching.” Sasuke was about to seriously murder the man. Today was not the best of days for Sai to decide to be witty. “But…” Sai cut in to save his slowly dieing sole. “I can’t quite recall a lesson pertaining to my beautiful blond Adonis over there. What has my precious work done to deserve such a glare. He should inspire sympathy, happiness, or lust. Not a glare, unless you are mad that he’s hiding himself, which I find completely understandable.” Sai looked at the flaming demon in front of him with amusement. The man was flustered and didn’t look as intimidating anymore. Instead he looked like a cat throne in a bath, pissed and curiously similar to a drowned rat. “Sai” Sasuke growled, losing his patience and regaining his intimidating aura. “Take it down. Now.” “No.” Sasuke’s eyes widened from the bold response, but he quickly hid his confusion. Ok he was sure he was glaring. And looming over his victim, just like his anichi did when he was mad. So why then wasn’t this working? Sai always backed down, always. So why? Had he lost his touch? No, that couldn’t be it; he had chased away more of his followers with a lesser glare earlier before leaving the office. So then why was he being challenged? “I refuse to remove that one. If not for its beauty then for the sole purpose of my other work’s revenge. I pray it will annoy you to no end.” The shorter raven stepped back to shut his door, closing it with a cold and meaningless smile and one last warning. “And Uke, if you even think of taking it down or ruining it I will call your brother.” With that the door closed and Sasuke questioned his skills as an Uchiha. ‘How dare he play the ‘big brother’ card. That bastard.’ He was so going to pay for it. Only Sai and a few friends who dared to get close enough knew how Sasuke looked up to and feared his brother. And only Sai knew how much his brother loved art, and would love the piece staring at Sasuke from down the hall. The coy pose seemed to turn into one of someone who was mocking him throughout his embarrassment, and now was looking away as if without interest to further irritate the injured male. Oh yeah, Sasuke hated the man on that wall. ......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... Naruto left the apartment just barely missing being run over by an angry and exhausted raven haired man. Naruto would have usually started something if someone ignored him like that, but he was just in too good of a mood. He wouldn’t admit that he was also a little frightened by the cold and emotionless black orbs that glared at any obstacle between the man and his apartment. And Naruto also kind of wondered at the fact that the man could barrel through yet still look elegant. If Naruto stormed off like that he wouldn’t come close to that refined air, he’d most likely look like a fuming child. The blond shook his head and the messy golden locks flew about his tanned face. ‘I can be elegant too. Sai said so himself. Well actually he said I was like a coy god tormenting the souls of my viewers. But he was probably just saying that to try and get me to show more skin, the perv.’ He smiled at the thought of his friends antics and blushed when he remembered where the piece hung. No matter how much Naruto begged the other man insisted on hanging it in the halls. None of Sai’s work was ever hung up in the hall because from what Naruto heard and saw his roommate was a controlling bastard. Yet Sai refused not to hang it. Naruto didn’t even dare to imagine what his roommate would do to Sai, and all because of that stupid portrait. Though Naruto had to admit it looked good against the white barren walls of the space. And he looked good; Sai had caught a glimpse of the real him, leaving behind Naruto’s smiling mask, and though it hurt Naruto to see it, it also made him feel good to know at least one person saw the real him and loved him for it. Sai had been his best friend sense they entered college. The colleges of art and architecture were grouped together and their buildings were close by, so they often met up, walked together, and shared ideas over lunch. And to tell the truth Naruto adored Sai, even though he was awkward, obnoxious, perverted, and at times difficult to read. Those things just made them closer because Naruto could be like that too. Yes believe it or not, Naruto could be a wee bit annoying at times. Hard to believe, he knew. Naruto looked up from his thoughts when he saw a familiar sign shining in the darkness of night like a beacon from God himself. Ichiraku Ramen Shop… Open. Naruto’s heart jumped with joy and his mouth dropped open pouring with drool. He had been in Sai’s ‘studio’ for hours and the man wouldn’t let him move, not even to get food. So now he and his froggy cohort were going to gorge till their hearts content. Well they were until he saw a familiar form from behind the curtains of the stall. Naruto’s stomach growled in agony and Naruto rubbed his tormented companion with a sympathetic frown. ‘I second that one little buddy.’ “Naruto-kuuuun!” vibrant pink peeked out from behind the curtain when the girl heard Naruto’s feet dragging a few feet away. Naruto choked back a sob when the smell of pork ramen flooded the air from the opening Sakura had made, and smiled happily at his bubble gum colored friend. “Any chance I can get a bite before you whisk me away?” Can’t say he didn’t try… “Psssh, yeah right. You are late and you are paying for it, and for the food that ruined my diet.” “Oh now that’s just messed up.” He whined as he emptied his last bit of money, the money that was supposed to feed him not her, onto the table reluctantly. The pink haired vixen chuckled at her friend’s antics. “Oh come on. I’ll feed you when we get to my store.” She assured him while grabbing the unwilling man’s arm and hauling him away into the night, where no witnesses could hear him scream. “Why? First you torture me and now you want to kill me? What have I ever done to deserve this aside from being gifted with these sinful looks?” “Ha-ha Naruto. Keep that up and you’ll be on a diet plan worse than mine.” Naruto cringed at the threat and decided to no longer resist arrest. It would be less painful to just serve his time. “Besides Naruto-chan…” she said with a sickeningly sweet voice. “You promised to help me with my new collection today.” Naruto released an exhausted sigh and succumbed to another one of his friend’s requests. “Remind me again why I’m still friends with you and Sai when all you do is use me for your ‘art’?” “Because you are such a good guy. That and you’re the only one worth modeling who isn’t smart enough to run from either of us. Honestly Naruto most of our victims would have caught on by now.” She was joking with him now. She truly appreciated Naruto. He always came through when she was in a pinch, pulling all nighters with her to finish her collections even when he had work of his own to do. That and he did have a point about his looks, jokes aside. His broad shoulders, sensuous waist, and lean muscle made the radiant blond the perfect model for her work, and if she were to give him all the credit he deserved she would say he was a god of wet dreams. But being his best friend she would never let his ego hear it; that would cause serious head trauma. Either from the cranial expansion or from the wound she would inflict to shut him up. “So how did it go with Sai anyways?” She asked, hoping to put an end to his weighing of pros and cons that could cause her to lose her most valuable tool. “Perverted as always.” Sakura chuckled at his nonchalant tone but braced herself for the coming rant. At least he had forgotten the fact he was being used as a test subject yet again. “He insisted on me posing with my legs spread open. He said it would help his anatomy lessons. And you know what; I think that bastard was genuinely surprised that I caught on. I’m not that stupid. I mean I’m in architecture for peet sake; you have to be serious about school. So why do people still think I’m a moron?!” “Naruto… your digressing again.” She steered him back onto course by reminding him that they were talking about his modeling and not his questionable intellect. He may not be dumb but he is very passionate and easily wound up. And when he got wound up… well he could easily be mistaken for being dumb, which is why many couldn’t believe the truth that he was indeed fact very smart. Architecture, at least at their school, required a 4.0 and high level courses. And it wasn’t surprising that Naruto was addicted to ramen when the architecture students struggled to survive and literally kept sleeping bags under their desks for all nighters. It was a miracle he was still sane let alone the ball of joy that was her best friend. “Oh yeah. Well aside from his attempts to capture my ‘natural splendor’ he also insisted on putting it on the wall.” “Wait he actually put it on the wall? I thought his roommate would kill him over something like that.” “That’s what I thought too, but he said it was ok as long as it was that piece. I don’t get it, but he insisted and I was running late for a very important date.” He winked at Sakura and she gave him a half hearted glare to humor his comment. “Well anyways it’s set up dead center on the wall of their living room that can be seen from the front door. There is no way anyone who enters that apartment won’t see it.” Naruto was torn between pride and fear. Would he being on that wall get him in as much trouble as the one who put him there? A shiver ran down his spine and for some reason he felt that fear might have some standing. “Damn… I will have to pay Sai a visit.” Naruto’s head whipped around so quickly that Sakura kind of wondered if had whip lash. He wasn’t moving either…. “Naruto?” “You’re just as bad as he is…. Are all artists perverted?!” Naruto was panicking theatrically, pulling his hair moaning as if aliens had planted their spawn in his brain. “Naruto you’re an artist as well. You took art history, you should know that too.” “My point!” Sakura rolled her eyes and he paused in his act to give her his signature fox like grin. “I should be an actor huh?” “I think you’re better suited for modeling.” “Why?” “Because you don’t have to talk and the only moving you have to do is walking up and down an aisle.” She smiled evilly at her stunned blond friend. “Well done. Snide comment of the night goes to… drum roll please. Sakura chan! Sakura come on down and claim you prize.” Naruto rolled his arms dramatically, pretending to be his own drum roll before flinging them open for a hug. His friend ignored him, walking past the idiotic scene to unlock her studio door. Unlike Sai her studio had its own zip code. They walked up two flights of stairs and Sakura unlocked yet another familiar door revealing her personal work space. It was littered with fabric to the point that the only light in the room came from a thin stream of moonlight from a window long lost behind her work. The floors were valleys of fabric and Naruto swore angrily when a pin stabbed through his sandals. ‘I thought finding a needle in a cloth stack was supposed to be difficult?!’ He wrenched the offending sliver of metal from his foot and grimaced at the amount of blood coating the metallic splinter and pouring from the tiny whole in his flesh. “Oh I was looking for that! Thanks Naru-chan, you sure have a knack for finding things.” she said as she happily plucked her long lost hem pin from his hand. “Yeah with my feet apparently.” He whined struggling to nurture his wound around a busily working Sakura. Sakura spared him no sympathy telling him to man up and that he would be fine. Worst case scenario he would get lock jaw and Sakura saw nothing wrong with the scenario. Offended Naruto spent the rest of the evening sulking as he was stripped and forced to model outfit after outfit to see how it looked and for alterations. By the time Sakura finally released him he was a walking coma and had long forgotten his hunger. He dragged himself home trying not to lean too heavily on his punctured foot. Small wounds always seemed to hurt more than being shot. Why was that? He finally reached his apartment on the third floor and leaned into the door pushing it open with as little effort as possible. He was going to die. He was seriously going to die. Not only was he exhausted, but he could no longer feel his stomach, he was bleeding, and he was pretty sure he could feel his jaw tightening. He wouldn’t get lock jaw, Sakura had said so. She was an ex medical student he could trust her… right? He shuttered in fear and quickly hobbled to his bathroom and poured every possible cleaner, antibiotic, and whatever other helpful looking stuff he could find in his first aid kit onto the alarmingly red and swollen dot.
