Ok so I got bored and started typing. This isn't edited or anything so there’s probably a million mistakes and i didn't have a plot while writing it. Like i said, didn't plan on writing this and have never wrote anything before so if you’re going to review don’t be to mean to me :D

A tanned orange blur ran at top speed through the streets of Konoha, desperately trying to escape the pelting rain that the brooding sky had unexpectedly decided to deposit upon the village. Naruto smiled bitter sweetly; at least he wasn't the only one that had been caught off guard by the sudden fierce storm. Trying to hide the foolish grin slowly beginning to spread across his face Naruto snuck a glance at the sombre figure running beside him.
Sasuke Uchiha's scowl was darker than normal and the amazing oxymoron that was his normally perfect untidy hair was soaking wet, his bangs mattered to his forehead and getting in his eyes which he pushed back angrily. Naruto lost control of his smile as he recalled Sasuke's irrational hate for the rain but also for getting wet in general. He snickered as he realised for the first time just how cat like his best friend really was.
As the pair lept onto the rooftops Naruto contemplated what he'd just though. Best Friend. He had always regarded Sasuke as a friend, even when he saw him as a rival but only recently had their relationship matured. Two years had passed since their fight at Valley's End in which Naruto had experienced what it felt like to have a Chidori put through his chest and during the encounter the two young shinobi had come clean about their feeling on pretty much everything regarding the other and Sasuke had confided in Naruto his feelings about his past.
"I promise Sasuke, I promise to do everything in my power to help you. Even if it means giving up everything I’ve worked for and dying here."
"Dobe......"
"Naruto?"
Naruto looked at Sasuke through the pounding rain, startled out of his memories and saw that the Uchiha was several lengths ahead of him with a look that couldn't possibly be concern on his face, and realised that he had become so caught up in the past that he had stopped moving in the present.
Naruto did smile then and placed his hands behind his head, "Sorry Sasuke. Hey why don’t you head on home, you'll get there much faster if you don’t run with me. I know how much you hate the rain." Naruto tried to sound non chalant as he gave Sasuke an escape route from his company and he hoped that the deafening rain drownd out the slight sadness in his voice that he knew was there.
The Uchiha's eyes widened indiscriminately. Even if he hadn't have caught the sadness lacing his friends voice the look in those big blue eyes of his was impossible not to recognise. It was clear to Sasuke that Naruto didn't want him to leave, that for some reason the fox didn't want to be alone.
"Are you sure dobe?" Sasuke purposely kept his voice light, not wanting to let the dobe know that he had noticed. Who knew what reaction that would bring from the emotional shinobi?
"Yeah I'm sure," another fake smile, "you head on home little kitty cat and get dry."
If at all possible Sasuke's scowl deepened, guess that was what he got for asking. "Fine, I'll see you at training tomorrow," and with a few hand signs the Uchiha was gone in a puff of smoke that was quickly eradicated by the rain relentlessly falling from the sky.
"Sure," Naruto mumbled, his smile fading, "tomorrow."

"I’m worried about Naruto," said Sasuke as he sat in Ichirakus a week later with the pink haired wonder that was Sakura.
In all honestly the young Uchiha had been content to just sit there and allow the infatuated green eyed konoichi to stare at him while he ate his dinner but then he began to think that perhaps Sakura could give him some insight into their mutual friend and teammate’s behaviour. After all, despite her unpredictable and often violent temperament the girl related to people much more easily than he himself did.
Sakura's eyes darkened and she straightened in her chair, her expression changing from one of ultimate love and devotion to one of concern, "so you noticed it to," she said chewing on her bottom lip thoughtfully and focusing on the bowl of food in front of her, "I was hoping that I was imagining it or just over reacting," she looked at Sasuke again hopefully, "so do you know what’s wrong with him?"
Sasuke shook his head as he finished off his meal, "I was thinking that maybe you knew something about it. He doesn't say anything to me when he’s upset but that doesn’t mean I don't see it, I'm not blind."
"Maybe Kakashi Sensei knows something," Sakura offered.
"No. I already asked him this morning before we started training and he said he didn't know but hes noticed it to," Sasuke's brow furrowed. If he wasn't so worried about the dobe he would have been tempted to take page out of Shikamaru's book and declare the situation to troublesome for his attention, but Naruto had done a lot for him and though he would never admit it to himself Sasuke cared about the fox much more than he let on.
Suddenly Sasuke stood and slammed his hands into the counter, "Damn it dobe what’s wrong with you!!"
Sakura looked up with startled eyes at the now furious Uchiha who was depositing money on the counter for his meal; such an outburst was unlike him. "Umm, Sasuke," She wasn't exactly sure what he was planning to do but at least wanted to make sure that it wasn't going to end up further upsetting their friend in his current fragile emotional state and history had definitely shown that the Uchiha had an undoubtable knack for doing just that, regardless of whether he meant to or not, "please whatever it is you plan to do just be careful. I know you care about Naruto-you can deny it all you want later- but please, think about what your about to do, don't go rushing in there and let his, well his Narutoness, make you say something that will only make the situation worse."
Sasuke sighed, pausing for a moment, his gaze affixed upon the opposite wall, "Thank you, Sakura."
Then the Uchiha left, disappearing into the night with only one purpose in mind. He would find the dobe and if talking rationally didn't help, then there was always the other option, regardless of what Sakura said.

Naruto groaned and let his head smack into his front door. This was just the craptastic icing on the top of the craptacular cake that had recently become his life. Honestly this was the last thing he needed right now and he was beginning to think that someone way up there had it in for him but he turned out all of his pockets for the fifth time hoping against hope but still came up with no key.
Really it shouldn't have been that big a deal, he was a ninja after all right, but recently everything just seemed like far too much effort.
After chalking up another solid defeat against that damn Sasuke during the days training, being shot down by Sakura again as she once attempted to get Sasuke to notice her, all the seats at Ichirakus being taken, having to walk home in the rain again and now realising that he'd forgotten to grab his key before he left this morning again the normally over enthusiastic happy teen was seriously having trouble keeping it together.
With his face hidden against the door of his apartment Naruto allowed his mask to slip, the ever present smile he wore fading and cracking around the edges, his electric blue eyes dimming and the scars on his face becoming more etched into his skin, seeming to just be tired old scars rather than the normal whisker like marks, tears slowly beginning to fall down his cheeks, their soft thud as they hit the floor indiscriminate from the water falling from the blonds clothes. He was glad he was alone and that no one he knew was around to see this breakdown. If he had to be honest with himself, thought Naruto as the rain began to fall harder, this wasn't the first time he had felt so utterly defeated by the world. Recently, however, it just seemed to be getting a hell of a lot worse.
Sighing heavily the tanned Jinchuuriki set to picking the lock on his door. He could have gone around and just entered through the window but was reluctant to go out into the rain once more but, knowing his luck, it would probably stop when he got inside.
"You know dobe its easier to get inside when you have a key," Naruto froze as he heard the unmistakeable voice of his friend accompanied with the jingle of keys, "I found them on my way over here."
Sasuke regarded the stoic, soaking form of the blond from a distance, not sure about how to proceed. Naruto hadn't turned to face him when he arrived to give him the normal good natured and sometimes fake smile that Sasuke had been expecting and now he was thrown. Caution be damned, the raven took a few tentative steps forward to place one hand gently on the blonds arm and offer him the missing keys to his apartment with the other.
Naruto tensed as soon as he felt Sasuke's presence behind him and moved slightly so his friend couldn't glimpse his face while he attempted to put it back together. Sasuke would just think he was weak if he saw the lingering pain in his eyes and the stupid tears that, like the rain, wouldn't stop falling. "Please Sasuke," he whispered pathetically, "just go away."
Sasuke's eyes flashed red a moment as he lost his temper with the dobe. His grip on Naruto's arm tightened and he abruptly turned the startled fox to face him. "What is wrong with you Naruto!!!" He shouted in the blonds face as he took in the pain and the tears plaguing the other shinobi's face. "Where supposed to be friends right? Naruto let me be your friend for once instead of the other way around," Sasuke shook him gently, "stop giving me those fake smiles that you think I don't recognise. Damn it Naruto let me in, let me see the real you!"
The rate of the tears flowing from the blonde's eyes had increased and he shook visibly with the effort to control his emotions, his eyes filled with terror as the Uchiha faced him, demanding that he himself face the problems that had been brewing in his life by admitting them to another. But he couldn't. Somehow saying them out loud would make them more true, saying them out loud would make it so hard to continue living in this blissful state of denial and fake smiles that he had built for himself.
"Please Naruto," Sasuke begged, realising he had scared the skittish fox and lowering his voice, "everyone can see that your hurting and their worried about you. I’m worried about you," the Uchiha paled as those words fell from his lips. Admitting his feelings to others was about as fun as being castrated but he knew that right now that was what Naruto needed to hear, he needed to know that he wasn't fooling anyone and that they all cared about him enough to worry and confront him, "so please Naruto, let me return the friendship you've so stubbornly given me. Tell me what’s wrong, let me help you."
The blonde's bottom lip wobbled as he began to break down in front of the raven, "S-so much has happened," he sobbed into his hands, "I can't even think of where to begin."
The Uchiha smirked to himself and gently moved Naruto aside to unlock the door to the apartment, "How about we start at the beginning."

Alrighty so that’s that. Sorry about the end. Truth is i don’t actually know what’s wrong with Naruto coz there isn't a plot as of yet. But anyway let me know what you think and if ppl don’t hate this entirely I’ll post another chappy.....that is once i figure out what’s wrong with the dobe. Also i haven't actually read this through so if it makes no sense I’m sorry :)
Also this fic is in direct competition with another fic that i decided to start as well. Both are SasuNaru and depending on which gets the better results from you guys means that one will be continued and one will not.
