The Boy With The Eye
of A Demon
Chapter 01
Hatake
Kakashi glared down at the scruffy looking boy, smiling sheepishly up at him. He
seemed no more than a few years younger than him, wearing a cream colored
shinobi gi top and matching colored shorts knee-length. An old horizontal scar
ran the length of his nose - indicating the boy received the scar when he was
very young from a sharp-edged weapon; as his pulled up chestnut-hair, swayed gently
in the breeze.
Most likely a student at the Ninja Academy.
Still, not in the mood for any of this, Kakashi glared balefully down at his innocent
assaulter; folding his arms over his chest in annoyance. He was late as it was,
had staying at the memorial stone longer than usual and with this added nuisance
to delay him further, from meeting up with his anbu team, was unacceptable for
an a pointed team leader as himself.
Aggravated for the hang up, Kakashi tucked the tuff of hair that got knocked loose
from the two-body collision, back underneath his forehead protector and closed his
eyes in an attempt to reign in his temper. He counted back to all the times he almost lost his
composure and if he looked at it more realistically, this was nothing compared to what Obito had put him through.
At the reminder of his former dead friend, Kakashi's heart twisted in guilt and
nothing could prevent, as his mood darkened.
After a few minutes of stony silence; on his part, Kakashi opened his eyes, more
collected and noticed that the boy was still here and staring at him with a
mixture of uneasiness and uncertainty. Sighing to himself, Kakashi awaited for the
apology that the boy was sure to give for running into him, disinterested.
Iruka's eyes were wide on his scarred face, as he sputtered out words of atonement, "I -I'm sorry. I didn't see you..."
his voice failed mid-apology, as he received a raised dubious silver brow. He made a
show of rubbing the back of his elbow, that too, wasn't left unscathed by the
incident and tried to look as apologetic as he could at the older boy that he had accidentally ran into.
Iruka noticed that half the older boy's face was covered in a mask and both his eyes were of different colors. One of blue origin and the other, red as a demon. He even had a strange
hair color. Instead of it being black like his own, it was white like freshly
fallen snow, "Um, you must
be strong if I wasn't able to knock you down when we collided..." said Iruka, in
way of conversation and to also overlook his nervousness at running into someone that
reminded him of a figure out of a folk tale by his appearance alone.
The older boy gave him a dark pointed look as he said this and Iruka cringed
inwardly. Smooth move, Iruka. Are you trying to get yourself beat up by this
mystical boy?
"Um...not that I was trying too!" he rushed in quickly, waving his hands up
frantically in front of him like it would ward off any bodily harm by his poor
choose of words.
Iruka sighed in frustration as his words were getting all
tangled up on him.
Distraught by his own negligence in phrasing his apology, Iruka looked down
at his beat up sandals. They were crusted in mud that was caked with clinging grass pieces. Indicating he traveled a lot on his feet; his only way of transportation, since his bicycle was ruined.
Even if Iruka wanted to get around in a different manner, he wouldn't be able to
afford it. After his parents were killed in the Nine-tails demon attack last
year, his entire world changed. Even, in the way people treated him.
As Iruka thought of his own misfortune that had befallen upon him, he realized
the older boy's shadow was overhanging him and that it increased the
discomfort he felt being near him.
Closing his eyes in an admittance of defeat, it was apparent regardless of his
best efforts, the striking boy in front of him would remain unresponsiveness to
his attempts.
So seeing nothing more he could do, Iruka just wanted to hurry this up and go before he made an even
bigger fool of himself, "Look, like I said before, I didn't see you.... I
really hadn't. I- " he hesitated in continuing but did regardless how corny it
sounded, "I was suppose to meet up with some of my classmates after class and
I lost track of the time. So, I thought if I ran, I might be able to reach them
before they left... that's when I bumped into you. Sorry."
If Iruka told him the
real reason he ran into him, he was sure he would of been laughed at. So he lied.
In truth, he didn't have any
friends.
When your the class clown, how can you?
Iruka glanced up and this time, the older boy wasn't even looking at him. That hurt far
worse than the boy's silence. It was like his whole existence was trash just because he didn't have
any parents like everyone else.
Angered, Iruka got up onto his feet and pushed the white haired boy aside. He purposely knocked his shoulder against the older boy's, as he strode briskly by.
Iruka didn't take any notice as the white-haired boy looked back at him with a
curious air. Somewhat puzzled and indignant by his behavior towards him.
"Look, I don't care if you're mad at me or if you give a damn. I'm leaving," huffed Iruka. More so out of a comfort to himself than targeted at the silent older boy.
Watching him go, Kakashi tilted his head as the scarred face boy stormed off,
his white brows furrowed in confusion and ire. Shrugging it off, Kakashi saw no
reason to waste anymore time on this. As he began to depart also, a thin strap appeared in his tunneled vision.
It was an Academy issued backpack.
Bending down, Kakashi scooped up the weathered backpack into his hand and searched for the name tag of the owner's, which would be located inside.
With stupid luck, there was one. It read, property of Umino Iruka.
So that's who that was, thought Kakashi, irritated by all the
disturbances of today.
Although he didn't know the boy, Kakashi still felt obligated to return the lost
property to him.
So picking up the backpack, Kakashi slung it over his shoulder and decided he
would return it to the Umino boy after he completed his mission. He'd rather not go to the
Academy, which was the obvious choice to return it, in worry of a spectacle to
occur. Instead, Kakashi will have to look in the village directory for the boy's
address, since the last name didn't ring any bell's for him.
Decided, Kakashi tidied up any tracks he might of left behind in his encounter
with the raven
haired scarred boy, and he proceeded to the meeting point where his team
was waiting patiently for him.
