Enough Waiting
A Naru/Hina one-shot fanfic. The characters are 17-18 range now. This is
my first story with a lemon, so please be gentle.

Naruto had recently returned from a mission to the River
Country. It had been a year since the final battle with Itachi, as well as
Orochimaru going into hiding once again. Akatsuki was still at large, but
severely depleted in membership with the deaths or incapacitation of Itachi,
Kisame, Kuzaku, Hidan, Sasori, and Deidera. The blond haired shinobi had given
up on Sakura as well, since when Sasuke returned from the battle with Itachi,
he had admitted his feelings for the pink-haired kunoichi. For his part in
defeating Itachi as well as Kuzaku and Kisame, Naruto was not only promoted to
Chunin for his efforts, but Tsunade made him a Jounin.

�� The mission
he was given took him out of the village for two weeks, which was a B-Rank
mission of dealing with some bandits. Due to the fact he could create several
hundred Kage Bushin, he was sent alone without a team as backup. It was fine by
him however, and he had not only defeated the bandits but had made several more
friends.

�� However,
when he passed through the gates of Konoha, he stretched, glad to be home. From
the shadows, a girl with white eyes watched him. It was Hyuga Hinata, heiress
to the Hyuga Clan. She gulped when she watched the newly promoted Jounin wave
at the Konoha Gatemen, Chunins Kotetsu and Izumo.

�� I got to
talk to him�� Hinata thought as Naruto began to walk past where she was hiding.
��I�just got to!�

�� Sakura had
been coaching the young Hyuga for weeks to be more assertive and to try to get
Naruto�s attention. It was painfully obvious to the entire population of Konoha
that the girl�s crush on Naruto had turned to love. As he walked pass�she
walked out of the shadows.

Hinata asked in the loudest voice she could muster, and Naruto stopped and
looked back.

�� Oh,
Hinata, I didn�t see you there!� Naruto said cheerfully as he turned around and
greeted the Hyuga. She smiled at him. �So want to come with me to
Tsunade-oba-chan�s office so I can be debriefed? Sakura-chan and Sasuke I guess
are still on their missions with Kakashi-sensei, right?�

be back in two days I hear�Naruto-kun,� Hinata said and Naruto grimaced.

�� Guess I�ll
hang out with you then, Hinata!� Naruto said with a grin, and Hinata�s heart
fluttered. �Sai would be too much of an emotionless ass to hang out with, and
Yamato-sensei is probably doing ANBU missions right now.�

�� so I�m
the last choice to hang out with?� Hinata asked, a little hurt in her voice.

smiled at her and held out his hand. �Well, we can�t leave Tsunade-oba-chan

Naruto grinned as he, with Hinata in tow, walked up the
stairs to his apartment. Tsunade had commended him for his first official solo
mission as a Jounin, and had given him a little extra money for the mission.
�Keep this up and you�ll be Hokage in no time, Naruto�, she had said, leaving a
big grin on his face.

�� So why did
you want to visit me at my apartment, Hinata?� Naruto asked as he put the key
to the door, and unlocked it. �We could have gone out to other places if you
wanted��

�� No�its
fine, Naruto-kun. You�you needed to drop off your money here anyway�� Hinata
said, and Naruto stopped. �Is�something wrong, Naruto-kun?�

�� You just
said everything without a stutter. It�sounded nice,� Naruto said as he rubbed
his arm. He turned around to her. �I�ll get us some ramen, or I can make you
some tea, Hinata��

�� -chan�please
call me Hinata-chan�� Hinata asked him, and he nodded.
�� Okay�so
tea or ramen?� Naruto replied with his trademark grin, and her heart fluttered.

�� Hinata sat
down on the old couch in his living room. It was surprisingly comfy even though
it was old. She looked to see he had a small, 13 inch color TV in front of the
sofa. She looked around, even though his apartment was small, it had warmth and
homely feeling that was severely lacked at her home. Even though her father had
become much more of a loving, caring person�he still acted coldly at times.

�� Here�s yours, Hinata-chan,� Naruto said cheerfully,
interrupting her thoughts. He put down a miso ramen onto the table in front of
her.

�� The two ate
and chat for a while. Naruto filled Hinata in on his training with his master,
the Toad Hermit Jiraiya, as well as the battles with Akatsuki in the recent
years. He didn�t tell her that Kyubi was sealed inside of him; he was worried
that would make her reject him.

�� So what
did you do for the two and a half years I was away?� Naruto asked as he
finished his bowl.

�� I
trained,� Hinata replied with a smile. �And thought about you�� she added with
a thought.

�� Cool, you
must be pretty strong now,� Naruto said with a grin and he thought back. �Oh
yeah, that�s right. Your team completed two A-Class Missions in a row, right?�

�� Hinata
nodded; during those missions she was more than useful. Kiba and Shino had said
she was key to completing both missions, due to her Byakugan, now impressive
taijutsu, and several water techniques that allowed them to cover their tracks
while tracking their targets. She smiled broadly and finished her bowl.

�� Naruto
looked up at the clock. �Damn, we talked this long�?� it was nearly 7:00 PM;
they had come to his apartment at nearly 4:30.

�� I don�t
mind,� Hinata said truthfully. Her father had permitted her to live out of the
Mansion when she had turned 16, so she was living in her own apartment. She�had
also talked many times with Hiashi about Naruto�

�� F-Father�c-can I ask you something?� Hinata
asked, putting down her tea.

�� Hiashi smiled and looked at his
daughter. �Of course, what do you want to ask, daughter?�

�� W-What�s your opinion on�Uzumaki
Naruto�?� Hinata replied tentatively. �A-A lot of the adults seem to hate
him�why? H-He�s been proven more to be an exceptional Shinobi��

�� Hiashi thought about her questions.
��I have nothing against Uzumaki-san. You are right, he is an exceptional
shinobi-and should be treated as such. Those in the village that don�t accept
that are blind.�

�� Hinata�s eyes widened at her father.
She was expecting an answer of hatred or contempt for Naruto from her father.
However�it looked like Hiashi was actually impressed by him.

�� Hiashi then pursed his lips. �If
Uzumaki-san wants to enter my home, he has my permission at any time. Now why
did you want to know, daughter?�

�� N-No reason�� Hinata replied
quickly and she bowed. �Please excuse me father, I have training to do��

�� Hiashi nodded and watched his
daughter walk out of the room in a hurried fashion. He smiled,
Hinata had truly become a strong person like she always wanted to be�

�� So want me
to walk you home? Unless you want to stay later,� Naruto asked, and she blushed
and shook her head.

�� I�d like
to stay here�for a while Naruto-kun,� Hinata replied with a smile. �If its�okay with you that is��

�� Sure!�
Naruto said with a grin. �If you want, you could even stay the night!� Both of
them started to blush at that. �T-The couch rolls out to a bed, you see��

�� She nodded.

�� Naruto
gulped at that, and nodded. He couldn�t believe he had invited her to stay the
night, and he couldn�t believe that she accepted. He looked at her face�and she
was smiling at him with a faint blush on her cheeks. She�looked really pretty

�� S-So want
to watch some TV and chat some more, Hinata-chan?�
Naruto asked with a gulp, and Hinata nodded.

�� They
watched the shows on the television for a little while but went back into
talking. Hinata started laughing when Naruto described the �battle of the hot
spring� when Jiraiya was caught peeking by a changing woman. Naruto laughed
along with her, it was an extremely funny memory, and he found out he really

looked at the clock; it was approaching 10:30 PM� �Hinata-chan, I think�it�s
