A/N: Just as a fair warning to all of you this story will be my first attempt at a truer third person story. Until now all of my writing has been primarily third person limited focusing around Raven. But since this is a Naruto fanfic and he�s now back from his training I�m going to include him throughout most of the story. This takes place after the time jump and from this point on the events in this story and any possible sequels will be my version of the way I would like the mangas and anime to go. I hope you all enjoy this one and as always any feedback is always appreciated.

Also I wish to apologize to anyone that read and enjoyed the ORIGINAL version of this story but to be honest I didn't really like how it had turned out and thought the whole idea of the Slayers (execpt for the Clan's Founder) and the prophecy was just too much even for a Naruto fanfic. So I'm rewriting the story and redoing it the way I had initially intended to do it before I got so far off track. I hope you enjoy this version as much as the last.

In addtion since thise story is being rewriten the events in this new version and the fact that I really didn't like to begin with lead to the deletion of 'Shadows of War and Renewal'.

{{�Kit, it�s time to wake up,�}} the nine-tail fox tells his vessel. Over the lat couple of years the demon and shinobi have come to a type of understanding the soon blossomed into a friendship of sorts.

Naruto groans as he slowly begins to leave the dream world for that of the real world. "I�m up, I�m up," the blonde shinobi tells his tenant. Sitting up in bed he stretches as a yawn escapes his lips.

�So you�re finally awake,� a voice calls from the doorway.

Turning to look at the man Naruto gives him one of his trademark goofy grins. �Hai,� he answers before getting up to dress for their return to Konoha. �So what�s for breakfast Ero-sennin?� the teen asks his mentor.

�Whatever you want to buy,� the white haired Sannin answers. �You�ve only got half an hour till we leave town so you better hurry,� the man laughs as the boy quickly scrambles to get dressed before racing out the door in search of a place to eat.

"Hai," Naruto replies, �I wonder how much everyone�s changed since the last time we saw them.�**

{{�Only one way to find out,"}}> the fox tells him before they begin to walk past the large thick doors and into the village they hadn�t seen in more then two years.

Hinata is out shopping for groceries for the dinner she is planning on cooking for Raven when she suddenly sees a face she hasn�t seen in nearly two and a half years. [i]�Naruto-kun.�[/i] As she watches the boy her heart begins to beat rapidly as she feels herself blushing brighter then she has since Raven�s proposal nearly six months ago.

She quickly ducks behind a large sign as she allows herself to take in his new appearance. The most noticeable difference is the new outfit that he is wearing. While he still wears his trademark orange it is now darker then before with black trim instead of the previous blue. His clothes like hers are also more formfitting and nowhere near as baggy as they used to wear. As she continues to eye him she also notices that he has tanned rather nicely and appears to have added more muscle then he had before. �He seems to have calmed down, even matured a little.� She also notices that he has gotten taller then he was the last time she had seen him. Over all she found that she liked this new Naruto�s appearance very much.

�Who are we watching?� a voice softly whispers in her ear.

�Naruto-kun,� she gasps turning around to find the subject of her childhood crush standing right in front of her. �Naruto-kun I- that is I�,� she begins to ramble.

�Is something wrong Hinata-chan?� a new voice asks from behind the blonde blocking her view of the new comer.

�No-nothing�s-nothing�s wrong Raven-Raven-kun,� she replies softly as she fidgets with her fingers in front of her.

Naruto turns around and comes face to half face with the man Hinata identified as Raven. His eyes narrow as he examines the man�s appearance. The twin kunai holsters on each leg and numerous weapons pouches lining his belt gives Naruto the impression that this is not someone to be taken lightly. What catches his attention the most about the man�s all black outfit are the ribbed arm, leg and chest coverings he wears.

�How can someone be so silent we didn�t even hear him walk up behind us?� he asks Kyuubi. As he begins to wonder about the bandana style hitai-ate and dark sunglasses cover the top half of the man�s head.

]{{�I don�t know kit,�}} the bijuu answers, {{�It's almost as if he just materialized out of thing air.�}}

�Raven-san,� Jiraiya calls to him as he walks over towards the teens. �It has been along time,� he adds noticing how much the older teen has changed. �I was sorry to hear about Koga-sama and your exile.�

�You know this guy Ero-sennin?� Naruto asks his mentor.

�Hai,� Jiraiya answers, �Raven-san was born into Konoha�s Hiroku clan. Until his exile several months back he was considered the pride of his clan.�
