It should
have been easy

It should�ve
been easy. Defeat Orochimaru and then the Akatsuki and then return to Konoha
with Sasuke.
The plan
was really simple and it did work.
Orochimaru
was killed by both Tsunade and Jiraiya. His assistant Kabuto was killed by
Sakura. Naruto did his part by blasting his Rasengan through Orochimaru�s chest
before the Hokage used a special medical jutsu to really kill him.
Not two
days later the Akatsuki was located and targeted. The combined power of Suna
and Konoha made it possible for a victory. And Sasuke, he was not the one to
kill his brother. It was Sakura together with Hinata that had made that strike.
Furious strength together with the Gentle Fist Style and the older son of the Uchiha
was killed.
And as soon
as Itachi was dead, the rest was a simple dance.

And all this while Sasuke was in the hospital under the care of Shizune,
the Hokage�s trusted assistant and friend. Naruto was sure that the now last remaining
Uchiha would throw a fit once he woke up and knew what had happened.

Once back
in the village � Naruto headed for the hospital to be at Sasuke�s side. He
wanted to be there for the boy , now turned man, who
had been his best friend at one time.
�And still is�� his mind whispered softly.
�And you still love him�� his heart whispered as he watched
the sleeping raven.
�Sasuke�. I�m
so sorry,� Naruto whispered as he laid down on the bed next to Sasuke, pushing
his face into the Uchiha�s warm neck. �So sorry��
A slight stir.
�Usurakontachi,
what are you talking about?� Sasuke�s slightly raspy voice echoed. �And what
the hell are you doing in my bed?!!�
�SASUKE!!�
Naruto yelled as his head shot up and he was suddenly looking down in a pair of
black eyes.
�Keep your
annoying voice down..� Sasuke groaned out.
�I�m so
glad you�re awake!!� Naruto beamed.
Sasuke
snorted and blinked as he tried to sit up in the bed, but failed. He got help
from Naruto and suddenly he had a blonde man hugging his midriff.
�Naruto�
what the fuck are
you doing?� Sasuke snarled. The hyper boy was much too close for Sasuke�s
comfort. And hell would freeze over before he would admit that he liked the
closeness.
�I�m happy
Sasuke,� Naruto mumbled as he buried his face into Sasuke�s stomach.
Blink,
blink.
�WHAT?�
�I�m so
glad that you�re ok, Sasuke�. �
Dumbfounded Uchiha.
�Ehh?�
�Sasuke�. You
were almost dead�. I�m glad you�re ok again,� Naruto said and turned his head
to look up into Sasuke�s face.
Blink,
blink�
�What happened?�
asked Sasuke as his hand moved almost by his own will to Naruto�s head and
began to stroking the blonde locks.
�When we
tried to free you, the bastard snake bit you and you got poisoned.� Naruto
explained. �And then baa-chan and the pervert frog-man killed him.�
Sasuke
raised and eyebrow at that.
�Ohh� and you should�ve seen �Sakura-chan!!! That medic-freak didn�t stand
a chance against her. Men she�s good and she�s strong you know!!!�
Sasuke gaped.
Had that strawberry girl taken on Kabuto and won?? Impossible.
�It�s the
truth� she was so good,� Naruto continued when he saw that Naruto doubted his
words.
�So Kabuto
and Orochimaru are dead?� Sasuke wanted clear answers.
�As dead as
they come man!!� Naruto stated with a large fox-grin.
Sasuke
nodded and closed his eyes. It was true that he couldn�t feel the curse mark
throb anymore like it had earlier. He tried to mold some chakra and he could
feel that it was all his own. The curse mark didn�t react to him anymore.
�But that�s
not all��
Sasuke felt
his heart clench as Naruto�s voice changed and turned serious.
�What do
you mean?� Sasuke asked.
�Itachi is
dead.�
You know
the saying of dropping a needle on the floor and it will be heard very clearly.
�Itachi�s dead?� Sasuke couldn�t believe it� he just
couldn�t be dead. Itachi was the strongest man alive and Sasuke had yet to kill
the bastard for slaughtering their family. He just couldn�t be dead.
�You lie!!�
Sasuke accused.
But Naruto just
shook his blonde head.
�No, it was
Sakura-chan and Hinata-chan that finished him off,� Naruto said as he again placed
his head against Sasuke�s stomach.
Hinata?
He didn�t know of any Hinata�
�She�s the
heir for the Hyuuga throne.� She�s really
cool! You remember her cousin Neji right? Well, she�s almost as good as him now
and she�s got this really fancy jutsu that can blow your pants off.�
Sasuke
winced when he heard Naruto talk so warmly about a couple of girls. He really didn�t
like it at all. And then these girls had taken down his bastard brother? Not a
chance in hell!
But Naruto saw
the disbelief in Sasuke�s black eyes.
�They did!
First � Sakura-chan made him stumble over moving grounds as she pushed her fist
into the earth, and then Hinata-chan used his surprise and cut off some of his
chakra-paths using the Hyuuga�s special technique.�
Sasuke
still couldn�t believe it.
�And then,
after Itachi had been slightly disabled, Sakura-chan punched his head in!�
Naruto�s
voice became exited as he described the battle between Sasuke�s hated brother
and their cherry haired team mate. Sasuke hated it.
�So� your
brother� he�s dead.� Naruto finished.
A couple of
minutes of silence and then Sasuke gave Naruto his life chock.
Sasuke
laughed. And he laughed whole heartedly.
It made
Naruto worried.
�Sasuke?�
More
laughs.
�Shit� you�re
loosing it� wait I�ll get baa-chan and she�ll help you out!!� Naruto yelled as
he was about to move away from the bed.
Sasuke
grabbed hold of him and pushed him close to his chest as his laughs turned into
tearful chuckles.
�Sasuke?�
Naruto�s muffled voice came out.
But all
Naruto got was another wave of chuckles.
�Sasuke-teme!!! What the fuck got into you?�
Sasuke sniffled a couple of times before pulling away and wiped off
a few tears from his eyes before he fake punched Naruto on the chin.
�You�re
still a source of entertainment, dobe!� Sasuke
stated.
�EHHH!??!�
�You�re
telling me that Sakura and that little timid Hyuuga who had a crush on you when
we were younger, managed to kill Itachi?�
�She had a
crush on me?�
�Dobe, you�re just trying to make fun of me aren�t you?�
�No� They
really killed the bastard!�
�Yeah right
and I will be Hokage in two days,� Sasuke snorted but you could see the humor
sparkle in his black eyes.
�TEME!!
It�s the truth!!� shouted Naruto as he straddled the raven haired young man and
pushed him back against the wall.
Sasuke just
shook his head a bit but he put his hands on those whiskered cheeks and gently
stroked them with his thumbs.
A deep
blush appeared under his touches and he could feel the other youth struggle
with his emotions.
�Teme!!�
�Dobe,� Sasuke retaliated.
�You don�t
believe me do you?�
�Not for
one bit,� Sasuke admitted.
�Too bad
because I tell you the truth!�
�Yeah, you
might believe it,� Sasuke continued feeling very pleased that he still could
touch the blonde without him pulling away. Had his skin always felt this warm
and soft?
�Bastard,
when have I ever lied to you?� Naruto snarled and shook his head to make the
Uchiha stop caressing his face.
�Never, but
you have played pranks before.�
�This is
not a prank. I would never joke about such a thing!� Naruto said as he grabbed
Sasuke�s wrists and pushed up against the wall next to Sasuke�s head.
Sasuke
remained silent.
�Bastard,
listen to what I say!�
�Dobe, I will not believe it until I see his dead body.�
�Fine� then
I�ll take you to Ibiki-san�s office.�
Sasuke just
raised an eyebrow as Naruto moved away from him and then stand on the floor.
�Well come
on bastard, I want you to see that I don�t speak lies.�
