Title: Don’t Remove My Ribbon

AN: I'm not sure on what to say. Yes, I'm going through my various oneshots that I have written and finally posting them up. A couple more then back to the mini stories.

Strolling through the park, Genma whistled as he smiled brightly. He was on his way to a meeting with his boyfriend, Naruto, an engagement ring in his pocket and spring scenting all around him. He was going to ask his lover to marry him finally, here, in this park.
Finding the blond male with a sweet face, he smiled and bounded over to him, seeing that Naruto was sitting on a park bench, waiting for him.
“Naruto,” he said softly, kneeling down before him, and pulling out the ring, “you are the most amazing man that I have ever met. I love you deeply and I want you to be my husband for the rest of our lives. Will you marry me?”
Naruto smiled brightly as he held out his left hand as he said “Yes, I will becoming your husband, Genma.”
As Genma slid the ring on with a loving gaze, his eyes took to lingering on the green ribbon that Naruto had worn every day since the day he had met him.
“Why do you wear such a thing?” he asked as he came to sit next to his fiancé.
Naruto gave him a closed looked before smiling lightly and saying “I can never take off my green ribbon, and neither must you.” Genma nodded and agreed to that.
Not long after that, during a beautiful June day, they got married and moved into Genma's newly renovated home that was in a nice neighborhood near their jobs. The older male spoiled his lover with all sorts of lovely clothes, something that he knew that Naruto hadn’t had when he was younger.
But always Naruto wore his green ribbon, Genma thinking it odd and asking why.
Naruto just gave him a shy little smile and said, “I must never take off my green ribbon.
After a few years of happiness together, they decided to use a new medical procedure to combine their genetics and have a surrogate carry their child. Genma was a proud father, bragging to all of his friends about their impending parenthood while Naruto talked with his female friends who had children.
Every night they would talk about it together, smiling and both happy.
When the time came for the child to be born, Naruto warned his lover that he might faint, not so good with anything that hurt a person. “Should I faint, Genma, you mustn’t let the doctor or nurses remove my ribbon,” he said, getting a promise that he would tell the doctors and nurses.
Once the baby was born, Genma bought his lover a silver tipped velvet rose for not fainting, getting a loving smile. “Thank you for the flowers,” he said, pressing a kiss to his cheek. “And thank you for following through with your promise.”
Genma continued to wonder just why the green ribbon was so important but decided not to ask when he was handed their child, a little boy they named Minato after Narutos father who had died before they were engaged.
Genma, Naruto and baby Minato continued to live happily together in their home for many years to come. When Minato had been such a young baby, he would reach for the ribbon around his ‘mothers’ neck, getting a soft smile as Naruto cooed at him. “No, no, sweety. Daddy can never take off his green ribbon.”
His husband was fast becoming frustrated with the ribbon. He still loved Naruto with everything he had, and loved the fact that they had a family, but he could not understand his need to wear such an old, ratty ribbon.
After many years, Minato nearly a teen, Genma finally had a thought. “Our wedding anniversary is coming up; I can always buy that one necklace that Naruto was looking at. He would have to take off that ribbon of his so he can wear it…” With that, he bought the necklace and on their anniversary took him out to a fancy restaurant that over looked Central Park, indulging in a delightful meal.
Just before dessert, he pulled out a velvet box with the simple silver necklace with Naruto's family swirl charm hanging on it. When Naruto opened it, he smiled as tears came to his eyes, stroking the charm. Standing up, Genma walked around and pulled the necklace on around his neck, starting to take off the green ribbon only to be stopped by his husband.
“I can never take off my green ribbon,” he said with a shy little smile that seemed a little sad.
Genma sat back down in his seat with a huff. He looked at his husband and huffed lightly. “I may never understand why.”
Naruto placed the necklace back into its box and closed the lid. “It is lovely, Genma, and I will always treasure it, but I can never take off my green ribbon.’
“Why?” Genma asked, the same question he had asked for many years before. Naruto just smiled sadly and shook his head, not answering him once more.
Later that night, after they had made love that was still as explosive as it had ever been, Genma laid awake in their bed, thinking. “I’ve loved Naruto for close to twenty years, but he still insists on wearing that damnable green ribbon around his neck. I think it’s about time I find out just why he does.”
Slipping out of bed, he got up and used the moonlight to walk around to his husbands side. Carefully pinching the ends of the bow on the ribbon, Genma slowly pulled on the ribbon.
The bow became smaller and smaller, the loops of the bow pulling through and only a half knot was left. Licking his lips, Genma slid his finger under the half-knot and tugged on it.
With a ZIP! the green ribbon gave way.
With a surprising POP! Naruto’s head came off, rolling to the floor and bouncing in the moonlight. A fat tear rolled from Naruto’s blue eye as he gazed up at his lover.
“I warned you!” he cried.
