A/N: I would like to thank everyone for reviewing my work. It's for you guys that I even bother posting my stuff on this website. Disclaimer: I do not claim to own Sekirei or Naruto. However, recently I have found a really cool action figure of Musubi, complete with clothes ripping action. I'm thinking about getting it, in which case I would own a Sekirei doll. Ok, now that just sounded plain creepy.
Chapter 8: Tsukuimi, The Tsundere Sekirei
XoX Musubi frowned as she tried to peer through the smoke screen that had appeared out of no where. Just as the plan called for she had been checking out all of the places in Shinto Teito that the satellite feed from the MBI satellites that Matsu hacked couldn't look at, when all of a sudden this mist had appeared around her. It was a thick, cloying mist, completely white and so thick that she could barely even see her own two hands. Musubi had to wonder if this was some kind of natural phenomena. Just then instincts set in and Musubi was forced to jump backwards as a powerful whip cracked the ground that she had been standing on. The attack was powerful, ripping out chunks of the earth and creating a small crater. Musubi was not given time to truly see how much damage had been done as she went into a series of rolls and twirls, ducking, dodging and weaving as several dozen strings bore down on her in an attempt to capture her. However, that was not an easy task, while the strings were fast, Miya was far faster and she had been training with the woman for a while now. Compared to her landlady, these things were moving in slow motion. The strings soon reversed course, going back to where they came from and a voice called out. "You'd better just give up now, girly! Our master has decided that he wants the reward for defeating you and your Ashikabi. We have you outmatched and outnumbered so just save yourself the trouble and give up!" "I can't give up!" Musubi set herself in a fighting stance. "Naruto-Sama is counting on me to do my job in helping him find the Tsundere Sekirei." Yes, Musubi had heard what Naruto had called Tsukuimi. And since she did not know what else to call the woman – she had only managed to catch the last bit and therefore was not given a name – she had decided on the title Naruto had given her. Somewhere in Shinto Teito, Tsukuimi, who had been searching for the Ashikabi she needed to kill sneezed. She then shook her fist at the sky. Oh, her Ashikabi was going to die for talking about her. "If you are determined to get in my way, then I'll just have to move you out of the way." "Ha! Big words coming from a girl whose as blind as a bat in this mist!" Several more strings came out, or perhaps into the mist. Musubi dodged the first one by pivoting to her right, allowing the string to pass by mere inches from her face. The second was done in much the same way, only she spun on the balls of her feet and moved to the right. As the third one came at her, Musubi rolled across the ground, then used her hands and arm strength to push herself into a rotating flip. She landed on her feet some distance away, and promptly back flipped in order to dodge another string. However, with her having dodged all of the strings they were now behind her, and it became clear that whoever was controlling them had been counting on her to dodge the binding attempts all along, because Musubi was now surrounding. The strings soon came in hard, with the clear intent to immobilize her via wrapping around her body and making it impossible to utilize her strength. Musubi showed that she wouldn't be finished off so easily as she used the incredible strength in her legs to jump into the air. The smoke screen must have been high up, because even when she was at the apex of her jump, she still couldn't see anything else. She landed on the ground a few seconds later and found herself being forced to dodge a whip and several strings which began lashing out at her again. 'I need to find a way to beat them,' Musubi thought to herself. Of course, the problem with this was coming up with a plan to defeat the people attacking her. She had never been one for creating plans, Musubi was an instinct fighter. She relied on her senses and her combat prowess to get her through most situations. "Your pretty good at dodging!" The voice seemed to echo all around her. "But I wonder how long you can keep it up?" As more and more attacks began coming at her, Musubi began wondering the same thing. XoX As Naruto continued strolling along, the sound of screeching filled his ears. MEEEEEOOOOOOWWWW! Looking up the blond was just in time to catch an orange cat with a white underside falling from the sky. Reacting on instinct, Naruto reached out and grabbed the critter before it could go splat on the ground. Even a cat would die from a fall that high. "Well hello there kitty," Naruto said with a chuckle. He began petting the little critter, grinning as it released a purr. "I wonder where you came from." "Hey there, kid!" Looking up Naruto blinked when he saw Seo standing on the roof in a ridiculous pose. It looked like a cross between the nice guy and the bad boy. Seo had his left foot on the lip of the roof, his left hand planted firmly on his knee. On the other side his right hand was in a thumbs up and he was offering the blond a grin. And did his teeth just sparkle? 'I must be seeing things,' Naruto thought to himself. 'At least, I hope to god I'm seeing things.' Naruto tried to get his mind back on track, and prayed to the heavens above that he had not just seen the man give something that bore a slight resemblance to the nice guy pose. Seriously, he didn't need anyone channeling there inner bushy-brow. Shaking his head, Naruto looked back at Seo and said, "What are you doing here, Seo?" "Heh, well I was chasing that little cat there." Seo began his climb down from the roof. He tossed himself over the ledge, grabbing onto the pipes that were hanging just a few inches from the lip. Seemingly judging the distance, Seo made a side leap to a small window sill that his hands managed to latch onto. After a bit of a struggle his feet found a purchase in the wall, and the lazy man looked for another place to climb down. It took a bit of trouble, and more then once Seo nearly fell, but in the end he managed to get down to the ground. The man patted the dust off of his pants a few times before breathing a sigh of relief. He then took the cat out of Naruto's hands. "This cat here is my clients. I was hired to find it for her, but the little critter proved to be more trouble then it's worth. I thought we were going to have to find a look a like and pull the old switcharoo, but you sure saved me that trouble." Naruto sighed at the man's ending comment. He was really beginning to suspect that this man had no scruples what so ever. Granted, he didn't seem bad like some of the Ashikabi he had heard about, especially the one that had tried to force Kusano into a winging. But really, switching out a cat with another one just because he was too lazy to catch the real one was petty. Fortunately, Seo wasn't a mind reader and therefore unaware of his inner thoughts. Not that it would have actually mattered if he was, the man might complain and gripe about the blond thinking so poorly of him, but he wouldn't actually do anything. Or be able to do anything if tried. However, he did surprise Naruto when he said, "you've got another Sekirei, don't you?" "Um, yeah," Naruto blinked, surprised. He looked at Seo for several seconds, peering at the man with a scrutinizing gaze. "How did you know?" "I've got a sixth sense about these things," Seo said in a smug tone. "I bet it's Matsu, isn't it?" "That's right," Naruto said, then frowned as he realized what Seo had just said. "How do you know about Matsu?" Seo smirked. "Who do you think built that secret room, kid?" Cue another blink from Naruto. "Takehito asked me to build it for him, so of course I knew who was using it." "That's right, you were Takehito's best friend, right?" "That's right." The pair continued walking once again, silence reigning for several more seconds. "I didn't think you'd bother taking another job considering the amount of money I paid you," Naruto commented as they both began walking. "Yeah, well, Hikari and Hibiki decided that they didn't trust me with the money," Seo admitted without a care. Though he did seem a tad depressed. If Naruto was reading this guy right, he was probably hoping to spend the money on boos. "They ended up stashing it away somewhere, won't tell me where, and said it was for a rainy day or something like that." "Smart girls. They obviously know you very well and are planning ahead." "What is that supposed to mean?" Naruto smiled and was about to make a comment on Seo intelligence, or lack there of, when he received a spike of anxiety and adrenaline from both Akitsu and Musubi. Seo noticed this. "Something the matter kid?" Naruto didn't answer, instead trying to discern what his Sekirei were up to. Unfortunately, he still wasn't used to reading their emotions through the bond they shared, so all he could tell was that there was something wrong. Maybe coming out here wasn't such a good idea after all. With the price on his head, it was quite possible that someone had seen his Sekirei and decided to collect the prize for his defeat. Though, why they were going after his Sekirei and not him was a mystery. Given that no one knew about his abilities, Naruto would have assumed any Ashikabi looking to collect would go after him since he would be considered easier prey. He hoped the two would be ok until he could find them. "Seo!" Naruto and Seo turned around to see Hikari and Hibiki landing a few feet away from them. Seo put on a grin as he pointed to the cat in his arms and said, "look, I found our little money maker. Now we won't have to worry about food for the next three days." Then in a near silent mutter that only Naruto could pick up with his enhanced hearing said, "of course, we wouldn't have had to worry about food at all if you had just let me keep that check." The two lightning users were not amused. They looked a tad flushed and Naruto thought he detected a hint of worry in their countenance, though what they could possibly be worried about was beyond him. "This isn't the time for that, we're being chased!" "Get the hence!" Naruto looked up and blinked to see a pair of white panties. "I said out of the way!" 'Huh. How interesting that it would be these two that led me to my sixth Sekirei.' CRASH! "Oof!" Tsukuimi, who had been chasing the villains that had dared challenge her only to run like cowards, landed smack dab on top of Naruto. It wasn't quite as painful as when Musubi hit him, but the blond figured it was because this woman did not smack into him head first like his first Sekirei had. Instead she had done so feet first and had managed to place her legs on either side of his body, essentially straddling him when she hit the ground. Of course, given that she had done that, his face had hit her panty clad mound before he fell to the ground. Kami, he was beginning to wonder if perhaps Jiraiya hadn't been able to convince Murphy that Naruto needed more women in his life so the pervert could have more material to write his books. 'How ironic is it that these the lightning twins led me to my sixth Sekirei and that we would meet in the same way I met Musubi? Huh... I can see her panties... nice...' "Loathsome monkey!" Tsuikimi cursed at him, making the blond look up and blink. "I bid the –" a gasp escaped her lips and cut her off. The moment her eyes landed on Naruto's an intense heat welled up inside of her. Falling to her knees, Tsuikimi began to breath heavily, her face flushed and sweaty. 'What does this mean? Wherefore I am brought to my knees. The heat, it grows stronger.' Naruto sniffed the air and almost chuckled at the scent of arousal emanating from the beautiful blond. He was seriously beginning to believe this entire plot about Sekireis and Ashikabis was something Jiraiya had cooked up and convinced Kami to make reality. Only a pervert of his level could possibly come up with something like this. Shaking the amusing thought off, Naruto looked at Tsukuimi, who was still on her knees, face flushed and breathing heavily. "Um... yo, you wouldn't happen to be Tsukuimi would you?" "Bastard!" Tsukuimi growled as she slowly, shakily pushed herself to her feet. Water began to swirl around her, a stream of blue liquid that took the form of a whirlpool starting at her feed and growing wider as it went up, much like a funnel. "You... are... he...!" Seeing the intense stare and the fury within those blue eyes the blond couldn't help but sweat drop. 'Oh yeah,' he chuckled internally. He would have done so out loud but figured it would just make the woman even more pissed off. 'She's mad.' Unaware of his amusement, Tsukuimi glared at him with an intense and utter hatred. "I know thou wouldst seek to defile me! Yet all I shall grant in suffering!" She pointed at him. "For thou shalt only be relieved through death!" Naruto scratched the back of his head as he stood up. "You know, you said something very similar to me in my dreams. This isn't some kind of really clumsy come on, is it?" "Die!" "Woah!" XoX She now had a plan. It had taken some time and dodging, a lot of dodging, but Musubi had a plan to defeat her attackers now. She wished her Ashikabi was here to see what she was about to do. Musubi was sure Naruto would be very proud of her for coming up with something like this on her own. Relaxing her body and remaining calm, she waited until one of them struck. It didn't particularly matter who as they both used similar weapons. Long rage weapons that were designed to bind her or cause bludgeon damage. Both were well qualified for her to do what she had in mind. Not surprisingly the one that first came towards her was the whip. This one always seemed to start things off for whatever reason. Musubi didn't know why, but she didn't think on it too much as the long weapon came in close. Making to dodge to her right, Musubi watched as it followed her path. Who ever was in control of the whip, they were not only capable of controlling it's movements, but also seemed to be able to see through the mist. Of course, this small advantage didn't matter now that she had a plan. When the whip changed course to follow her, Musubi switched directions at the last minute, sidestepping the left and moving to stand in an upright position. She raised her right arm above her head, allowing the whip to pass mere inches from her torso. Then her arm came down, and clamped onto her whip. Her forearm moved, wrapping herself further around the weapon before she grasped it with her hand. "What the hell – AAHHHH!" The shouted words ended in a scream of surprise when Musubi grounded her feet and let loose with a violent tug. A few seconds later the screaming got louder and soon enough she could see the blond girl the whip was attached too, she was coming at Musubi head first. That suit her just fine, this was exactly what she had been hoping for. Pulling her fist back, Musubi gathered her strength and waited for the right moment to strike. It came seconds later. Timing herself to be perfect, the moment the girl reached her, she launched her fist forward in a powerful punch. The results of her attack were rather impressive. First there was a powerful concussive force. A sound eerily similar to thunder booming as a ripple of intense winds blew outwards from the place where Musubi's fist had hit the girls face. The crunch of the blonds noise breaking under the fist-type's punch went almost unheard in the face of the near exploding roar that came from the attack. For a moment, it seemed as if time was standing still, with the two forces in play, Musubi's fist and the girls face. It was the perfect example of Newtons first law of motion; every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless external force is applied. In this case, the object in the state of motion was the girl with the whip, and the external force applied was Musubi's fist smashing into the girls face. Of course, like the First Law of Motion, Newtons Third Law – for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction – soon came into play. The concussive and powerful force of Musubi's punch was far too much for the girls face to take. Normally, if the person she had just hit had been a human, the power behind her fist combined with the inertia and momentum of how fast the girl she had hit had flown into it, would have been enough to make the girls entire face cave in and become nothing more then a bloody smear on Musubi's fist. However, this girl was a Sekirei and a weapons type at that. They were the second strongest types physically, after fist and foot-type Sekireis. So instead of her face caving in like mound of sad does when children step on it, the girl was launched backwards at speeds so fast her form seemed to be a blur. The mist even parted for the girl as she was thrown back. Musubi didn't manage to see where she landed, the whip user had been flying so quickly that she was soon nothing more then a dot on the horizon and then, not even that. The girl would eventually smack into a large lake, and would be the only reason she did not shut down. Silence seemed to follow this new and unprecedented turn of events for several seconds. Her enemies seemed incapable of figuring out what had happened. It was only after nearly five minutes had passed that Musubi got a response. "You bitch!" Yeah, that. Nearly three dozen strings soon came in through the mist. They came in mass, attacking all at once with the intent to hem her in and capture. An act which would likely end with unpleasant consequences. For Musubi that is. Musubi began to dodge, rolling, twirling and weaving through the hailstorm of attacks. She stayed low to the ground, not wanting to jump in the air where she would be a sitting duck for the girl that was sending out what seemed to be her entire arsenal of weapons. The girl was clearly out for revenge. Still, so many weapons were obviously hard to control all at once. While not the brightest person among her fellow Sekireis, and quite possible one of the least intelligent when it came to common sense, Musubi was still able to clearly see that none of the strings attacking her could move from their given path. It was as if the girl using them could not control their movements while using so many strings. Which could be used to her advantage. Musubi took off at a quick run, following the paths of the string as she weaved through the attacks. New ones came towards her everyone few seconds, supposedly when the girl let go of one of the strings she was using already, but with her keen eyes Musubi was able to pick them out. It wasn't long before she had burst out of the mist, appearing almost right in front of the girl attacking her. Said girls eyes widened as Musubi charged her like a bull. "Oh Shit!" Famous last words. Like with the whip user, Musubi launched a powerful attack right into the girl, a straight jab with unrelenting strength. Unlike last time, Musubi's attack hit this particular girl in the gut. The string user doubled over, coughing up blood as all of the air left her lungs. This was mere seconds before she was sent flying, soaring backwards through the air, before smacking the ground hard enough to gouge out a large trench out of the earth. She tumbled for several feet, rolling and bouncing along the earths surface, then skidded to a stop nearly forty feet from her original position. She didn't get up. The last Sekirei left, a young woman with grey hair wearing an elegant white dress that showed off the center of her breasts and stomach, decided that it would be in her best interest to get the hell out of dodge. She ran, leaving her two comrades behind. Musubi sighed as he let the girl go. "That was tough," she said, before putting her thinking cap on. This involved her adopting a slightly crooked pose, hips tilted as she placed the index finger of her left hand on her lower lip and used her right hand to hold up her left arm via placing it under her elbow. Then she scrunched up her face in a cute gesture for several seconds before blinking. "If I was attacked by these people, then that means Akitsu-chan and Naruto-Sama might be under attack as well. I should help them." A brilliant deduction. With nothing left for her to do here, Musubi sped off, leaving behind the two Sekirei she had defeated. It was a bit unfortunate that she had never been one for logical thinking, or she would have realized that even though her opponents had been beaten, they were still awake, if suffering from a severe concussion. Their Sekirei crests had not disappeared. XoX Akitsu dodged several more sword slashes, she was beginning to get used to this mans speed. He was actually much slower then Miya, whom she had watched beat up Musubi every day since they started training. On the third swing, a downward slash, she jumped back to gain some distance and launched a several dozen ice shards at him. They were deflected with ease, of course, she had expected no less from one of the first five numbers. Mutsu showed his skill in a stunning display of speed as his sword flashed out in a twirling, spinning pattern that looked as elegant as it was deadly. Each second he continued to make his sword dance, he hit several shards of ice, the crystalline fragments shattering with each movement of his blade. The fragmented shards of ice followed the flow of the mans sword, creating a beautiful pattern that seemed to glisten and sparkle in the light of the mid day sun. had Akitsu been given a moments time to actually observe the reaction, she may have found the scene quite beautiful. The shards of ice glinting in the sun, not the man making them. Akitsu didn't have time, however, as the man was bearing down on her again. She sent another round of ice shards to force him to keep his distance. She did her best to coordinate a powerful assault in the hopes of overwhelming the swordsman. Creating a large amount of shards which she used to launch a frontal assault, and several seconds after that created more shards and launched an attack from behind him. It was her hopes that Mutsu would block the ice shards in front of him, but remain unaware of the ones coming in from behind, thus allowing her to impale him in a surprise attack. It wasn't to be as the man jumped into the air, dodging both attacks with ease that way. A frown crossed Akitsu's face as she berated herself for forgetting that they were also battling in angles, not just planes. That didn't stop Akitsu from launching even more ice shards at the man, however. Not that this did any good. Unlike a fist-type who might be more or less defenseless against that kind of assault while in mid air, a weapon-type, especially one wielding a katana was far from defenseless. The man easily managed to slash out with his blade, using deft and quick strikes and slashes to destroy the incoming swarm of ice. The attack didn't stop there though, as Akitsu judged where he would be when he landed. Several ice spikes formed out of the ground in the area she was sure he would land. And he did land there, but not before twisting himself around in mid air, then using his blade as a centripetal force to swing himself in a circle. There was an explosion of power and the ice spikes were destroyed, allowing Mutsu to land on the ground safely. There was a lull in the battle as the two opponents eyed each other. Akitsu decided this would be a good time to gather what information she could. "Why are you attacking me? Is this for revenge on my Ashikabi-Sama getting the green girl before yours?" Mutsu, seeing no trouble in answering the woman's question, and in all honesty needing a moment to rest and regain his strength answered. "Not at all, while Mikogami was upset that he had lost the green girl, we had no intention of originally battling against you and yours, at least not yet. However, whether or not you are aware of it, there has been a large reward offered for anyone who manages to take you and your Ashikabi down, and my Ashikabi aims to get that reward. As we speak Sekirei eighty-eight is no doubt fighting Mitsuha and Mitsuki, the two weapon-types you defeated the other day, along with Taki." Then it was as she suspected. Akitsu had been warned that this might happen, but Naruto had plainly not expected it to happen so soon. She could only be glad that she was only fighting one opponent, however, Musubi, according to Mutsu was fighting three. That worried her slightly, but she knew her sister – which is what she had come to think of Naruto's other Sekirei as – was strong. She had faith that Musubi would either win or hold out long enough for help to arrive. But for not, Akitsu had her own battle to focus on. Already knowing that allowing Mutsu to get up close was paramount to suicide – she had barely managed to dodge his attacks up close – Akitsu began backpedaling before she reached the lip of the roof. She jumped backwards as soon as she was at the edge of the building, hopping onto the roof of an adjacent building. Mutsu made to follow but the ice user created three large cones of ice. They looked nothing like the small shards. These were pointy at the end, and grew larger the further along they went. At their base the cones held a diameter of what looked to be fifteen feet. They were, in a word, huge. And she launched them at Mutsu, all three of them. The man was forced to dodge the large ice cones instead of closing the distance between them. This was not that hard, considering that due to their size they also moved much more slowly. However, when they hit the building he was on they did cause a lot of damage, busting through the roof and causing it to cave in on itself. This caused the roof to rumble and made Mutsu lose his balance, which Akitsu capitalized on. Nearly two-hundred spears formed a ring around Mutsu in mid air, several feet above him. On Akitsu's command they all flew at him, with speed rivaling that of her ice shards. However, despite being precariously balanced the man gave as good as he got. With a roar, his sword lashed out and he unleashed a blast of energy as he spun in a circle. Because his balance was unstable, he did not destroy all of the spears, but he had gotten rid of enough that he was able to dispose of the rest with basic slashes and strikes. He then used the ledge he was balance on to launch himself into the air, just in time to dodge more ice shards. Landing on the opposite side of the hole, much farther away then Akitsu as he had been, Mutsu had a moment to ponder what he should do. The ice user had clearly learned from their last battle. So far, except for his initial surprise attack, she had done a remarkable job of keeping her distance and seemed intent on continuing to do so. That was most unfortunate, unlike Sekirei number one he did not have the ability to create powerful ranged attacks merely by shooting shock waves from his sword. Minor extensions of his power to extend the range of his weapon, yes, but not long range like the distance between him and Akitsu. This would be a tough battle. Tired of waiting Akitsu launched more ice at the man, the attacks taking on the form of much larger ice shards. They were jagged, and looked pretty wicked. No doubt they would cause a lot of damage if they hit. Mutsu dodged the first attack, he spun around the second, his sword flashing out as he cut it into five pieces. The third was split down the middle when he brought his sword down in a slash in front of his face, and the fourth was jumped over. With the attacks seeming to come to and end, he ran towards the woman in the hopes of closing the distance between them. Sadly it was not to be as Akitsu began jumping from building to building, launching ice attacks at him in an attempt to not only slow him down, but impale him with her attacks. She sent everything she could think of, ice shards of all sizes, spears, javelins, those large cones. She had even tried to be sneaky by freezing the ground underneath him and causing several ice spikes to rise from the ground. Sadly for her, while it was difficult to dodge that last attack, the most he received from it was a minor cut. Just as the two seemed to realize they were at a stalemate – Mutsu simply had too formidable of a defense for Akitsu to get through with her ranged attacks, and Akitsu was more then capable of keeping her distance – Musubi arrived on the scene. "Akitsu-chan!" The two turned to see the busty brunette Sekirei jumping from rooftop to rooftop as she closed the distance between them. Mutsu took a moment to curse inwardly. "It looks like Mitsuha, Mitsuki and Taki have failed. The situation is unfavorable." It was time for him to retreat. "Musubi-san," Akitsu said, nodding at the other Sekirei as she landed next to her. "Are you alright?" "Yeah, I'm fine!" Musubi smiled brightly. "I got attacked by some people but don't worry, I managed to win!" Akitsu nodded at the obvious statement, but didn't comment on it. There were more important things to talk about. "We need to find Ashikabi-Sama. He might be in more danger then we first thought." "Right!" Together the two Sekirei were quick to begin hopping across the buildings in search of their Ashikabi. XoX "Oh no!" Matsu eyes widened as she stared at the monitor, her fingers blazing across the keyboard as she typed at speeds never before seen. The screen showed a very detailed map of Shinto Teito in the center, red dots representing winged Sekirei, green dots were the few unwinged Sekirei and blue dots were considered ally forces; meaning Naruto, Akitsu and Musubi along with the other Sekirei that lived here. Around the screen was the live video feedback she had gotten by hacking into the MBI satellite mainframe. It showed three images so far; the first one of Musubi and her fight, which looked like it was just about finished; Akitsu and her battle with Mutsu, whom she recognized very easily; and finally Naruto. His screen was the most surprising as he dodged, flipped and spun around the water projectiles that Tsuikimi was launching at him with what looked like ease. There was even a smile on his face. Clearly, he was having a blast. However, that was not what held the center of her attention. No, that achievement went to the map, which currently showed several dozen red dots converging on Naruto's location. "Damn it, this is bad, so bad!" And worse still was she couldn't call Naruto as he was in the middle of dodging lethal water projectiles. If they managed to survive this, Matsu was going to demand that Naruto buy them some kind of long range communication device that they can stick into their ears so they can be in constant contact at all times. But for, all she could do was wait and pray that her new Ashikabi survived his confrontation with Tsukuimi. XoX Naruto nearly laughed as he ran through the streets, jumping, dodging, ducking and weaving through the hailstorm of water that was being launched his way by the Tsundere Sekirei. Tsukuimi was doing her utmost to kill him. Despite that, the blond actually found himself having a blast. It had truly been a long time since he had gone against anyone who may be capable of injuring him, and since this was not a fight to the death – despite what Tsukuimi thought – Naruto intended to enjoy this bout to the fullest. He used his acute sense of timing and lightning quick reflexes, along with the environment to dodge the worst of Tsukuimi's water attacks. When he couldn't dodge while on the ground, the blond took the walls, using the basic tree climbing technique to run along the vertical surface, much to the shock of Tsukuimi. "Come back here fiend! I will have thine head!" Naruto was oh so tempted to make a Tsundere joke. It was most unfortunate that he was trying to get this girl to join him, or he would have been teasing her something fierce. Instead he focused on dodging the girls water attacks. He did make sure to pay attention to just what she could do with water, it seemed that the woman's mastery over her element was quite refined. So far he had seen her launch things as simply as water bullets, or canon balls given their size to water dragons. All of the attacks were quite deadly too, as the poor destroyed concrete she hit could attest to. When Naruto felt he had seen enough, the blond shinobi quickly turned down an alleyway in which he would make his stand. Though he thought calling it his last stand was too harsh a word, he had no intention of fighting after all. "It appears as though thou art trapped, filthy ape!" Like a hawk descending on it's prey, Tsukuimi appeared before him from the air, landing on the ground just a few feet away. "Before thine eyes are closed, dost thou have any questions?" It would not matter if he did or not in the end, but Tsukuimi was nothing if not honorable when she killed. Even to a loathsome monkey like him. "Actually, I do." Naruto walked forward, causing Tsukuimi to tense, both in preparation to attack and because of the heat welling up in her bosom. It was an irritating feeling that she wished to be rid of. Still, she would allow him his one question before she closed his eyes to the world. However, she was not expecting Naruto to drop down onto a knee and bow his head before her. Nor was she expecting the question that came from his mouth. "Tsukuimi, will you grace me by becoming my Sekirei?" For a moment Tsukuimi's brain felt like it had been charred by a bolt of lightning. Out of all the things he could have asked it just had to be that! "Thou art must be joking!" She scoffed, ignoring the wave of heat his question caused in her. It was growing more intense with each passing second, and she knew she would have to end this soon. "I shalt never let myself be... debased in such a way by such a vile beast!" Naruto frowned. "What exactly do you have against Ashikabis?" "I wouldn't expect a monkey like you to understand," Tsukuimi huffed, looking away as the heat was beginning to get worse now that he was so close. "Try me." For a moment Tsukuimi sought to deny him his answer, he had already asked his one question after all. However, those eyes of his, eyes that challenged her; there was a fierceness to them, a hint of power and charisma that made her waver. In the end, she could not help but answer his question. "The reason for my hatred towards your lesser race is quite simple," Tsukuimi started with a glare. "You humans are loathsome creatures, always seeking to take what is not theirs by force. Your kind are baseless, without honor or shame! Fools who believe they are in the right and that their destiny is to rule over us Sekireis by degrading and disrespecting our bodies with their untoward advances!" It was essentially a long speech telling Naruto that she thought all Ashikabi were perverts. Clearly, she had never met Matsu. "Then allow me to prove you wrong," Naruto said, once more there was that charisma and determination in his eyes that Tsukuimi found hard to resist. What was it about this man that caused her feelings to waver so? Blue eyes stared into blue eyes as the blond male spoke. "It is true that we humans are terrible creatures in many ways, quite a few of us give into our base instincts and become beasts, it is as you say." Tsukuimi blinked, she had not expected him to agree with her. "However, not everyone is like that. You are putting an entire species into one category, stereotyping them because of the actions of a few. While humans are capable of great evil, and many can and have committed crimes and unspeakable atrocities. They are also capable of great compassion and kindness, they love, they laugh, there is a willingness to help others. I have seen it. And if you will allow me, I shall show you. Become my Sekirei and I shall prove to you that not all humans are as you say." To say that Tsukuimi was stunned was like saying that Matsu wasn't a pervert, it wasn't just an understatement, it was an outright lie. She was shocked beyond all belief. This human was not only challenging her beliefs, but had the audacity to try and trick her by placing a challenge in front of her as bait. Well, it would not work on her. Up on the roofs above them, Seo and his two Sekirei had caught up and managed to hear his words. "Heh, what an interesting kid," Seo muttered. "He reminds of him." "You vile, loathsome, imbecile!" Tsukuimi was shaking in rage. "Thou art not only shameless enough to ask such a thing in public, but is willing to use trickery in order to get what the wants!" "Um... I think your getting the wrong idea –" "I shalt destroy the!" Tsukuimi pointed her palm at Naruto, a torrent of water appearing around it. It began to swirl, coalescing and growing as it spun in her hand. The wind picked up, the motion of the water being so great that it caused fierce gale-like winds. "Oh shit! She's serious!" Hibiki shouted in shock and a little bit of fear. She couldn't help but feel pity for the blond man. There was no way he would survive such an attack if it hit. Naruto watched as a ball of super condensed water appear in her left hand, which she then thrust out towards him. Due to the torrent of wind and water that had been in front of her, the attack that was launched was sped to near unimaginable speeds, fast enough that it could have easily left a hole in a human should it hit. Naruto didn't flinched as the attack moved past his left, a little above his head, and blew a large hole in the wall behind him. Tsukuimi was on her hands and knees, the attack had taken a lot out of her, and she had missed. That more then anything bothered her. Looking at the blond male with a glare, she muttered, "I let my anger get the best of me and cloud my aim. I shall not be so careless with the next shot!" "If that is your decision," Naruto closed his eyes for a moment. Opening them, his impenetrable gaze pierced Tsukuimi's very soul. "I'm not moving until you listen to me!" "Ugh.." Tsukuimi's hands went to her left breast. 'Why? Why doth my chest feel like this?' In an effort to get rid of this blond and this accursed heat, Tsukuimi prepared herself for another attack. Only to be interrupted by Hikari and Hibiki. "Hey blondy! My sister and I aren't done with you yet!" "You two!" Tsukuimi looked up at them with a glare. "Didn't thou learn thy lesson last time?" "Oh please!" Hibiki scoffed. "The only one around here about to learn their lesson is you! Seo!" Seo sighed. "Yeah, yeah." Tsukuimi's eyes widened. 'That man! Is he another Ashikabi?' Seo walked up to the twins, wrapping an arm around each of them as a smirk crossed his face. "Hey kid! You may want to close your eyes, this may be too hot to handle for ya!" Naruto scoffed, not just at the kid comment but also the 'too hot to handle for ya' one. There was no one on this planet who had gotten more play then him. He had been with more women, and done far raunchier things then this man could ever cook up in his most twisted fantasy. Every single book of Icha Icha Paradise that Naruto had written was about his own sexual escapades for fucks sake! Yet this man thought something as chaste as a kiss would be, in Seo's words 'too hot for him to handle'. Clearly the fool would need to learn. But not now. Later. Hibiki grunted, annoyed by her Ashikabi's posturing. "Ugh! Would you just shut up and do it!" "What... what art thou going to do?" Tsukuimi would admit to being curious... and wary. Did they have some kind of special abilities that she did not know of? She didn't think it likely, but one never knew and those two had proven to be quite crafty. Whatever surprise she had been expecting it was not what she got. Seo kissed them. First Hibiki, then Hikari. The exchange of saliva, or the DNA located within Seo's saliva empowered the pair, causing wings flair onto their backs before fading. However, the power was still there, ready and waiting to be used. Tsukuimi was in a rage. Her face was stained a permanent red and there was a look of befuddlement, embarrassment and indignation on it that put every other expression she had ever had on her face to shame. She pointed at the twins, her finger and voice both quivering. "Wha-Wha-what on earth did that human to do thou twin strumpets!" "Oh that?" said Hibiki, smirking. "It's simple," Hikari finished for her. "He empowered us Sekireis." The twins pressed themselves together, breasts smashed together. Their left hand on each others hips while their right clasped together, fingers entwined and pointed towards the heaven. The skies darkened and the pairs yellow eyes looked at Tsukuimi with contempt. It was truly an erotic look, and Naruto wished he had his pen and notepad so he could write what he was seeing for his next book. Though he doubted he would forget this. In unison the two began to chant. "By the thunderstorm of our pact, our Ashikabis perils will be destroyed!" The sky above them had blackened by now, and bright purple lightning cracked directly above them. It spread out in a circle, rippling across the sky around them. A beautiful and potentially lethal sight. Tsuikimi couldn't help but feel fear as she realized what this was. "That's an incantation that only winged Sekireis can use." With their chant complete the two lightning-type Sekireis unclasped themselves and pointed their hands at Tsukuimi, palms facing outwards. "God's song!" A large wave of lightning ripped apart the ground in front of Tsukuimi, purple archs of pure energy that crackled and flashed as it traveled towards her, an unrelenting force of destructive power that even at her strongest she knew she could not match. In spite of herself, Tsukuimi closed her eyes in fear, expecting to feel the incredible pain of lightning as it flooded her nerves, burned her skin and seared its way into her very being. It never happened. Instead, all she felt was a soft breeze and the feeling of being lifted into the air. There was a large explosion which sounded in her ears. A terrible thunderclap that echoed across the city. Tsuikimi opened her eyes when she felt herself being set down on solid ground. They widened when she saw dark blue orbs as deep as the ocean staring at her in concern. "You ok?" asked Naruto. "Wh... why did thou save me?" she asked. She was confused, and felt she had a right to be. This was the man that she had been trying to kill, after all. Yet despite this, he had saved her, protected her. Risked his life for her. Tsuikimi looked over his shoulder to see that damage that had been done, and her eyes widened. A large trench easily ten meters wide and nearly twice as deep, still smoking from the intense heat emitted by the blast of lightning. If that attack had hit, it could have easily killed her, never mind what it would have done to a human. Naruto looked at her, tilting a head as a confused expression crossed his face. "Why did I save you?" He truly looked genuinely perplexed. "Why wouldn't I save you?" His answer got wide eyes from Tsukuimi, who was truly beginning to doubt everything she had ever thought. This man was flipping her beliefs on their heads. Standing up, Naruto turned around and placed himself directly in front of Tsukuimi, using his own body as a shield in case the twins tried to attack her again. It was an act that caused her insides to heat up again. Not turning around, the blond smiled as he said, "if you have the power to make a difference, you should put it to good use." Tsukuimi blinked. She was unsure if he was directing those words at her, or himself. "If someone has the power to protect others, then they should use it as it was meant to be used. I won't abandon someone and leave them to fend for themselves if my help can make a difference." There it was again. That act of selflessness that was causing her to question her beliefs, not to mention causing her bosom to heat up even more ferociously then before. "I can't believe he got in the way again!" Hibiki growled. "If he hadn't gotten her out of the way she would have been toast!" "I had forgotten how fast he could move," Hikari said. "That speed, it's inhuman." 'So, that's the infamous super-human speed I've heard so much about.' Seo thought to himself. The layabout had to admit hearing about it from Hikari and Hibiki, and seeing it for himself were two very different things. He had a feeling things would get very interesting with this kid around. "This battle is over," Naruto called out to the twins. They, along with Seo, raised their heads to look at him. "If you continue trying to fight her, you will have to go through me." 'This... this man... is he really willing go as far as to fight two Sekirei just to ensure my safety?' There was no way someone who was trying to force or trick her into submission would do this. No one would be willing to go so far as to pick a fight with two Sekirei just to try and convince them they were sincere. Doing what this man was doing was akin to a death sentence. "Grr! You may have gotten the drop on us the last time, Mr. hero! But it was just a fluke!" Hibiki growled. "There's no way we can be beaten now! Especially by a human!" "Are you sure of that?" Hibiki opened her mouth to retort that she was, only to pause when she saw the look on the mans face. It was a look of complete confidence, the kind of expression someone used when they knew they would win, beyond a shadow of a doubt. This man was sure of his victory over them, and as much as she hated to admit it, their last fight – if it could be called that – had not turned out in her and her sisters favor. "On top of that, are you really willing to destroy such a high source of income just to defeat a single Sekirei?" Naruto continued. His smirk widened when he noticed the look on their faces. "You do know that if you kill me, not only will that check become useless, you also won't be getting anymore of my money?" The blond breathed in deeply, exhaled, then slid into his combat stance. Feet spread wide as he presented a three-quarters view to the twins, knees bent at an sixty-five degree angle. His left arm was tucked into his side, while his right was held in front of his him, palm facing upwards in a 'come here' gesture. "And I can assure you that the only way you will be getting to her, is over my corpse." The proclamation did not just stun the twins, but also – surprisingly, or not so surprisingly – Seo, as well as Tsukuimi. Though both were for very different reasons. After a long silence, in which neither party spoke and Tsukuimi didn't even dare to breath, Seo ended up breaking it. "We're done here." "Wha – Seo?" Hibiki looked at the man, stunned. "But why?" "You heard the man, if we kill him we don't get any more money," Seo said. He had other reasons not to try and kill the blond, one of which was Miya – who would kill him if Naruto was killed – and the other being that he honestly wasn't sure the twins could pull it off. But there was no sense telling them that. Instead, he made the excuse of money. "I mean, did you remember just how many zeros that check had? We've made more money off that one payment then we have the entire time we've been together." Neither Hikari nor Hibiki could deny that. It was true, after all. "Right, well, I guess we don't have much choice then." Hibiki looked over at the blond man and frowned. "You got off lucky. Don't think we wouldn't have fried you if not for your money." Naruto closed his eyes and smirked. "I'll be sure to remember that." The two twins frowned at him before jumping off. Seo stayed only for a second to give the blond a salute and some parting words. "Kid, you've got balls of steel to stand up to those two like that. It'll be interesting to see what you do from now on." Naruto snorted, but gave the man a parting wave. When Seo had left he turned his attention back to Tsukuimi, kneeling down so that they were eye level. "Are you alright?" "I am fine." Tsukuimi turned her head away from Naruto in an effort to hide her blush. Not that it did any good as the light red tint was rather prominent on her fair skinned cheeks. "I... I thank you for protecting me. For a monkey, thou art a man of mettle." she stood up, a single, smooth motion that had Naruto following suit. A single hand went to her breast. Turning her head, she looked back at him, her own blue orbs gazing into his. "It's strange, but my heart, which had once clamored so loudly in protest, is surprisingly at peace right now. Tell me, what is thy name?" "Naruto, Uzumaki Naruto." Tsukuimi nodded. "Thank you." "You don't need to thank me," Naruto said, he scratched the back of his head, his face adopting a slightly sheepish expression. "I just did... well, I guess I just did what I thought was right." Tsukuimi raised an eyebrow. The more this human spoke the more intriguing he became. "Look, I know you don't like humans," he started, once more trying to get their conversation back on track. "And should you say no I promise to never bother you again." Ocean blue eyes gazed into their lighter counterpart. "But I will ask again, one more time, will you be my Sekirei?" Tsukuimi stared at the strange man, the strangest she had ever met. In such a short time he had turned her thoughts on their head, flipped her life upside down. He had stared her down as she had tried to kill him, unflinching. And he had protected her with his own body despite the very real possibility of death. Were there ever a man worthy of her, then it was this man. "Very well then," she intoned, her voice taking on a regal bearing to go with her Shakespearean accent. "The Sekirei, Tsukuimi, shall graciously accept thy proposal of marriage." Naruto blinked. "Um... what?" "What dost thou mean what?" Tsukuimi sent him a glare. It was loaded with annoyance. Apparently, she thought that her statement had been quite obvious, and the intentions he had made clear. "Thou has asked for thine hand in marriage, has he not?" In all honesty, Naruto had never really considered just what the bond between Sekirei and Ashikabi could mean, never had the chance to go into study the intricacies of a relationship between two people who have been joined at such a subconscious level. Where all of their emotions and feelings were sent between each other. To bond at a level where you could feel each other even when miles apart. But when he considered it from the angle Tsukuimi just proposed, he supposed it was in many ways like marriage. Actually, it was deeper then marriage, a bond far stronger then the ties between hisband and wife. "Yes, yes I guess that's exactly what this is, isn't it." "Excuse me," Tsukuimi interrupted, hands on her hips as she tapped her left foot impatiently against the pavement. "But what are blathering abou – hmmmpphhh!" Her eyes widened as her mouth was hampered from speaking by Naruto's lips. Despite her shock, and to her great surprise, rather then feeling disgust at the thought of this man kissing her, all she felt was joy. No, that was slightly inaccurate. The first thing she felt after her shock wore off was an intense heat, it built up in her chest but soon spread all throughout her body. It was, in a word, intoxicating. This heat, it seeped into the core of her being, a pleasant burning – as odd as the words pleasant and burning being combined in a sentence sounded to her – that caused her legs to nearly give out. Which only increased when one of Naruto's hands wrapped around her waist, and the other had managed to grab onto one of hers, his fingers entwining themselves with her own. She did not see them, but she could almost feel the wings as they flared out of her back. They shone in a brilliant blue as one would expect from a Sekirei of water. The wings soon faded, as did the heat. All that was left were her and Naruto. Even though the technical winging had ended, they continued to kiss. It was kept chaste, Naruto did not think she was ready to go further after hating humans for so long, and Tsukuimi was of like mind though she didn't know it. However, he kept the pressure of his lips against hers, and after a while she did return the kiss, applying pressure to his lips in return. Her hands, unsure what to do with themselves, were placed on his shoulders. This changed slightly when one of Naruto's hands came up and pushed them up and over his shoulders so that they wrapped around his neck, then his own hands set themselves on her waist, not moving an inch up or down. It was a respectful gesture and one Tsukuimi was grateful for. The kiss did end soon after that. Tsukuimi's breathing was flushed, despite the fact that it had not been a kiss of passion. However, she could not help but feel rather flustered as that had been her first kiss. Her fluster increased to new levels when Naruto pressed their foreheads together, his eyes staring into hers with such emotion that she felt as if her knees would give out any second. And when he said, "thank you," in that soft, warm tone that she had never heard before in her life, they did give out. It was only thanks to Naruto that she did not fall to the ground. Instead falling into his chest as he wrapped her up in a hug. And then she felt it. The presence within the back of her mind, one that was foreign, and she knew it belonged to Naruto. Her Ashikabi. 'What is this peace I feel?' She closed her eyes as she felt the warmth around her, both inside and outside. The blonds natural body heat matched that of the warm feelings that were encompassing her through the bond. 'To think that a man could grant me this kind of feeling. Is this... what they call love?' She would have loved to explore this feeling more, however, their moment was soon interrupted by a pair of shouts that were very familiar to Naruto. "Naruto-Sama!" "Ashikabi-Sama!" Tsukuimi blinked and looked up when two figures descended to the ground. Both of them were women, and she didn't even have time to register their words or wonder what they wanted when the brunette one hugged her new Ashikabi from behind. "Naruto-Sama, are you ok?" she asked in a worried tone. Her arms rested lightly around his neck, just above where Tsukuimi's head was resting against her fellow blond's chest. The water Sekirei glared at this new woman fiercely. How dare this wench hug her husband! How dare her husband not tell the wench to get off of him! What was going on here? "Ah ha, yeah, I'm fine." Naruto's attention was taken from Musubi when a blushing Akitsu grabbed his left arm. "I am glad you are not hurt." "Thanks." Naruto smiled before turning to a-soon-to-be-aggravated Tsukuimi. "You two are just in time, Musubi-chan, Akitsu-chan, I would like you both to meet Tsukuimi. She's decided to join us." "Ah! Hello!" Musubi greeted the blond woman with a bright smile. Akitsu merely nodded. Both of them were relieved that he had managed to succeed. As for Tsukuimi. She was angry. Scratch that. She was pissed. Her eyes were twitching and she had several prominent tic marks on her forehead. There was a violent purple aura around her body, and her hair swayed in an unseen breeze. Naruto would not have been surprised one bit if her head suddenly started spinning. "Tell me," she said in a low, agitated voice. "With me, how many Sekireis dost thou now possess?" "Um..." Naruto blinked. He looked up at the sky as he counted the number in his head. "With you that would be... five." Several more tic marks appeared on Tsuikimi's face, she was gritting her teeth and shaking violently. With a glare of anger, jealousy and rage, water burst around her and coagulated in her hand. "Water Celebration!" Which she then used to throw at Naruto. The blond promptly dodged the attack, letting it move passed him and hit the wall several feet away. A good thing too as the wall exploded rather violently. "Woah! Hey now! That could have seriously hurt me!" "Hurt you? It was meant to kill you, now die heathen!" "Uwah!" "I shall destroy the for thine trickery! Scum! Fiend! Begone!" "Ah! Woah! Wah-oh! Gah! Come on now Tsuikimi! Will you at least listen to me! Oowah!" "Silence! Thine has closed off my own ears! I shalt not listen to thou's treacherous words!" And so, Tsukuimi continued launching condensed balls of water at the blond, spewing expletives and threats that were rather colorful. Meanwhile, Naruto continued to dodge all of her attacks, while at the same time trying to calm her down. It was just another day in the life of one Uzumaki Naruto. There you have it. I did my best to show the differences, as well as the slight similarities between Naruto and Minato. Namely that, while they're both very kind, Naruto is far more determined and forward when it comes to him getting what he wants.
I saw the last manga, Madara is kicking the five Kage's ass and this just proves my point about super-human power ups. Kabuto clearly states in this chapter that Senju Hasharima is considered the strongest kage ever, period. Stronger then every other kage who has come since, and stronger then Uchiha Madara. Which means the shodai was far stronger then Sarutobi, who managed to hold off both the sho and nidaime hokage's at the same time. This is the perfect example of how every enemy that comes next in a shonen jump manga needs to be more powerful then the previous ones. That way when the main hero pulls some kind of deus ex machina super power out of his ass, it at least feels like there was an epic battle. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
