"Your little sex-toy won't be able to save you out of this one" the man's raspy voice sent daggers of anger to his heart. He used all of his strength to fight the men pinning him down. 'Fucking damnit! Not again with this bullshit!' He was tired and bloody, yet he managed to free himself one last time, but the fuckers stabbed him with something. His strength was draining like a water faucet on full power.
Three other men blocked Naruto's vision and struck him in back of the head with Beretta M9. They tossed his body inside a trunk like a piece of garbage and quickly drove off towards the opposite direction of Naruto's destination. After an hour, the exiting walls of the village soon come into view.
Thankfully the mansion was cleared out of guests, only now was it infested with cleaning servants. Sasuke paced outside the mansion, thankful of being uninterrupted. He hadn't noticed when exactly his feet started to run but when he began gasping for air outside of Deidara's door, did he realize he had been running. After catching his breath, Sasuke barged in the blond's room, the look of surprise from Deidara causing him no alarm.
Somehow Sasuke's face told him why he was there but he still waited for him to say something.
"I need your help," Sasuke simply stated.
Deidara's eyes bugged. Out of all the things he'd expected Sasuke to say, that was the last thing he'd anticipated to hear. The guy probably got himself into an even bigger mess. Deidara was completely unsure as to what to call Sasuke's face. From all the years he'd spent by Sasuke's side he had never seen this Sasuke. The closest word Deidara could find was "scared."
"Alright," Deidara nodded understandingly and dropped the clay he had been playing with.
He debated on how to approach Sasuke on the what they were doing as they were both pacing towards the garage. He'd never dealt with this frightened boy before. Should he joke to loosen the mood? Simply wait for him to talk and use soothing soft-spoken words? What the fuck? Deidara was beginning to panic.
"Sasuke?"
They both stopped, facing the direction from which the voice came from, looking like dears caught in the headlights. It was unmistakably Fugaku's voice. Instinctively they took cover behind a vehicle.
'What the ever lovin' fuck is yer dad doin' over here, nn?' Deidara wordlessly communicated with the now irritated Sasuke.
'Like I know or give a shit,' Sasuke's eyes answered.
Sasuke very quietly and slowly opened the passenger door to the car, quickly urging Deidara to crawl inside. He could see Fugaku's silhouette nearing the black suburban two slots down. Sasuke quickly followed after the blond.
"Wire it. Quickly. He's going to talk to me about earlier today, or where we're going. I don't have time, I have a bad feeling about something. Lets go."
Deidara only sighed, yanking out the wires and working them together as small sparks bounced out from the ministrations. Fugaku's footsteps only getting louder and louder with each flicker.
Fugaku's steps stopped as did the troubling shadow that was coming their way. Deidara not wanting to find the reason for it, finally brought the engine to life. Sasuke looked back but saw no sign of his father as they drove out of their garage and towards the Uchiha's infamous tunnels. Sasuke wondered what could have stopped his father, but like to the concern, he turned his back to it and faced forward.
Sasuke had ordered Deidara to take the secluded route to Naruto's apartment. Knowing by the lack of city noise from the phone call that Naruto took the long way home. He had no idea what exactly he would find down this path, but there was one thing he was certain of; there would be no Naruto.
He had been level headed at first but the deeper they became encompassed by the darkness of the road, the stronger the fire in him ignited. Like that anger he felt when he'd found Yukio in Naruto's apartment, it was breaking down his rationality and polluting his veins with black malice.
Deidara took a turn and both men noticed lights in the near distance, which seemed to be unmoving. Sasuke nails dug in his knees as Deidara sped up to the scene. Sasuke practically flew out of the car before the vehicle reached a complete halt.
There in the middle of the crossroads was the black police charger Sasuke knew Naruto drove. Doors open, lights blinking, and no Naruto. Deidara felt a chill of cold wind brush through the tall cheers surrounding them, it was silly but he believed that it came from Sasuke himself.
Sasuke crouched down looking at the tire tracks in the dirt road. One came from Naruto's left which obviously cut him off and by the tracks behind him, he knew he had been followed as well. He circled the center of the scene, dirt tussled, and blood stains scattered around. Naruto had fought God knows how many men.
"Hey check this out," Deidara's voice came from inside of Naruto's vehicle. Holding Naruto's note with gloves, knowing that the police would be searching this area, Deidara held it out for Sasuke.
"Where did you find this?" Sasuke quickly took the small paper in his hands.
"It was hidden in the creak of the seat, not completely though, since ya know... I managed to see it."
Sasuke looked down at the sloppy writing that said "baldy." Sasuke knew it had been that piece of shit who was behind this, but a little confirmation from Naruto was nice. He wouldn't be wasting his time chasing after the wrong man.
Sasuke harshly crumpled the paper in his hand, Naruto had known what was coming. Why hadn't he told Sasuke sooner? Or yet, why hadn't he called for back-up? Sasuke severely hopped it had nothing to do with him or himself getting jeopardized by the police in catching Yukio. He doubted it, but why hadn't Naruto taken initiative? By the rushed writing, Sasuke was aware that Naruto did this as fast as he could but why not just yell this information out? He had been on the phone with him. What was Naruto trying to tell him?
"Kiba?" Shikamaru heard light panting on the other side of the phone call, he didn't want to know what the other man had been doing before he interrupted.
"Shh," Kiba put his finger over his lips. "Yeah Shika, what's going on?"
"We have a problem," Shikamaru got straight to the point.
"Now?" Voice high with disappointment, Kiba looked down in defeat.
"Sai and I found Hinata and Naruto's patrol car down the secluded roads next to the plant. I'm guessing you're with Hinata now, I hope you are," he added honestly, "so it was obviously Naruto driving it. Anyway, the car is sitting here in the middle of the street and Naruto is no where to be found."
Kiba immediately stood up as the information unfolded. He pinched the bridge of his nose, this was bad. He had a really awful feeling about this.
"You think something happened to him? Is the car in good condition? Maybe he ran out of gas or something?"
"Sai is checking that now, the car seems fine though, there's just a lot of tracks in the dirt. He might've gotten mugged or something but," he made a noise Kiba could recognize and answer with a sound similar to it. Naruto was a good fighter, getting mugged by some brainless delinquents was very unlikely. This didn't look good at all. "Meet me at the station."
"We have to go to the station, now." Kiba gave Hinata a kiss and pulled her out of the couch. "I'll explain everything on the way." He squeezed her hand, the information she was about to receive was something Kiba wished he wouldn't be the one to tell her. They had all talked about this, Naruto was a great guy, and he was starting to attract attention due to his advances with the police force.
With popularity came enemies.
"Sasuke?" Deidara questioned behind the young Uchiha as he paced back and forth, probably wracking his brains over the useless note. Quite frankly, Deidara couldn't find a reason for it either. Perhaps it had been there before this whole thing happened, and it wasn't really meant for Sasuke.
"It's that fucker Yukio, let's go."
"Wait Sasuke, lets call Itachi."
"There's no time."
"You know we could use him to find Yukio and there's also another thing... he's going to kill you if you go on with this on your own."
"Fine. Whatever. Call him."
Deidara sighed. He knew Sasuke was scared to call Itachi, mainly because he wasn't suppose to be seeing Naruto in the first place. Frankly, Deidara was a little scared to tell him as well.
Sasuke was pacing back and forth again. 'Should I tell his friends? The more help the better, right? No, I'll take care of this myself.'
He wanted the glory of meeting Yukio's eyes before he shot him dead. Even so, however, it seemed wrong not letting Naruto's friends know of the situation. If he did bring the bunch know also meant that Sasuke would be accepting it as a problem he couldn't handle fast and all on his own.
"Itachi wanted me to tell you that you're a fucking idiot and for us to meet him at this place 3 blocks from here. Your parents have to go to some trip again in the morning, so they most likely won't notice both of you gone for the night."
If Deidara hadn't mentioned his parents Sasuke would've forgotten he ever had any, nonetheless, he was glad there wouldn't be a problem with them... Not yet, at least.
There was light again. He winced when the brightness pierced his eyes. There was rough hands grabbing his limbs. He tried to fight them and push them away but his body seemed to be ignoring his wishes. Naruto felt his legs dragging across the rocky pavement. His head bobbed backwards and he slowly opened the lids of his eyes. The yellow hue of the sky told him it was morning. He looked to his side, fighting his eyesight to become clearer much faster. There was planes, jets, and vehicles.
"W-where... where... the hell..." his words were raspy and sloppy. "-Are you... fuckers... taking me?"
Ignoring the half conscious Naruto, Yukio directed his command to any of the men pacing behind him. "Before we leave, we must give Sasuke a little headstart," Yukio demanded a phone.
'Sasuke...'
Sasuke met Itachi's condescending eyes. He was doing a great job of keeping his gaze steady and unmoving until his nostrils twitched and his mouth opened big. Itachi rolled his eyes when Sasuke sneezed loud and quite embarrassingly. Sasuke's eyes darted back to Itachi, he was expecting some kind of 10 minute pep talk before they could do anything else, but Itachi seemed to be ignoring him. He was speaking to Deidara, quietly enough for Sasuke not to be able to hear him. The younger Uchiha wanted to demand he be part of the loop but was afraid Itachi would kick him in the stones.
Behind Itachi was his hoard of men, it seemed like a few but they were probably Itachi's best.
"How in the world does this cockroach get away with all this?" Kakashi blurted, honestly still finding the situation real.
Before more conversation could continue, their was a sound that made the world go silent. Everyone's eyes turned to the ringing phone in Sasuke's hand.
'Like a virgin...'
Sasuke grit his teeth so hard they nearly cracked out of his mouth. He snatched the device and shut it up immediately. 'I'm killing Naruto when I get him back. When the hell did he change my ringer anyway? That bastard.'
"Yeah?" Sasuke answered irritably.
He heard a deep, raspy laughter on the other side of the line. It was a sound that made Sasuke's fingers curl with fury and madness, turning his world deep crimson and distorted.
Everyone within reach of Sasuke noticed the extreme change in level of malevolence emitting from the Uchiha, but only Itachi caught a glimpse of the transforming eye color. Sasuke's hair fell over his eyes shielding it down to his cheekbones. A smirk sighed out of him and everything around him went silent. All eyes on Sasuke.
"I'm going to have so much fun killing you."
Deidara gulped, Kakashi eyed Itachi, who only narrowed his eyes at his brother. To any new comer, Sasuke's tone was steady and collected, but they all knew how much blood curling malice was poured into the devious response.
"You're a funny guy, Sasuke." Yukio stopped laughing and cleared his throat. "I just wanted to let you know that we're about to board a plane, so you can stop wasting your time in Konoha like a dumbass."
If Sasuke's grip on the device got any tighter, the phone would crack into pieces. His heart was loud in his ears, and his fingers were itching to destroy.
'He's leaving. He's taking Naruto. He's leaving.. He's leaving.. He's leaving.. He's leaving..'
The sound of water dripping made Sasuke squint his eyes open. He didn't know where he was. He looked around but there was only a sea of red liquid in a dark building. He found the facet with the leaking pipe. Slowly the red drops fell, causing ripples on the crimson body of liquid. The smell was strong of iron and flesh. Sasuke picked up his hand, rising it from the fluid, it was shaking and it held a picture frame where his phone had been minutes ago. The picture was the same one as the one he first found in Naruto's living room. His jaw clenched, his grip tightened, and through the reflection of the glass frame he saw himself. Blood was dripping from his eyes. He couldn't quite see his eyes, which were shaded, but the pupils were shinning red. It should have scared him, but instead it made him sneer. He knew he was looking straight at the devil.
"Sasuke... Sasuke... ! Sasuke!"
He squeezed his eyes shut and when he opened them again, he was back with Itachi and the others. He looked up at Itachi who was looking down at him with what Sasuke could only categorize as distress. Sasuke blinked a few times before realizing that he still had the phone in his hand. He quickly put it to his ear.
"Hello? Sasuke? I'll give you, Naruto."
"What?" Was he still hallucinating?
"You just have to meet me. ...Alone."
"Where?"
"Otogakure."
"Why not here? Now?"
"I'm not as stupid as you think I am, you brat. Now, if you want you can come to Otagakure for your pile of trash. Unless you know, he's not worth it. Which I wouldn't blame you. He's so weak, Sasuke. He can't even defend himself." Yukio chuckled. "Okay, we might be a little at fault, but this kid is pathetic. I'm surprised he was able to get under that bratty, self-centered, skin of yours. Hm... or he might just be that good of a fucker?"
Sasuke's breathing was slow but heavy.
Itachi snatched the phone away but the call had ended. "Track it," he tossed it to Kakashi. He grabbed his little brother's shoulders. Sasuke was being weird again. Frankly, it was freaking him the hell out. Before Sasuke snapped back into reality minutes ago, he'd been.. chuckling, if that was even the word to describe what he was doing. He was quivering, his skin was hot, and Itachi knew that he wasn't imagining Sasuke pupil color. What the fuck was going on? This might be something too big to handle on his own. If Sasuke's wellbeing was in danger, then he'd take all the repercussions that would come when his father found out.
"Otogakure." The word came out low and foreign. It was hard to believe it came out of Sasuke himself.
"Lets go," Itachi ordered his men. "Bring me the medic, he will ride with us."
Naruto lost count of how many times he opened his eyes to a new location feeling distorted, pained, and lost. It was getting really fucking annoying and ridiculous. It all started when Sasuke came into his life. Just one thing after another. If he hadn't gone out with Sasuke, he wouldn't have been there in the first place. He was messing with Sasuke's life and safety. It didn't take a genius to know that Sasuke was breaking down doors looking for him. He felt weak and pathetic for being kidnapped. He was angry he was in the situation, and in a way Sasuke was to blame, but would he hold it against the Uchiha? Would he regret ever meeting him? Regret not letting go? Never. The main thing concerning him was that this little stunt could get Sasuke killed. And that would be a reason to resent coming into Sasuke's life. He'd take it all back if it meant Sasuke's safety.
But it wasn't the time for that. What was done, was done. He needed to fight his way out of the situation. If he looked at the bright side of being abducted and surrounded by thugs on their way to who-knows-where, this was a great opportunity. His job was to be a protector, to put an end to this lifestyle that endangered the villagers. Yes, he was the one in danger but running was never an option. He'd fight, fight until his very last breath, and to take the fuckers down with him if that was the last thing he ever did.
"What do you plan on doing if the Uchiha doesn't show up?" The blond heard voices behind him.
"Kill him. Or better yet, make some money off of him."
"Tsk" Naruto turned away from the talking men. 'I forgot how fucked up the world is..'
A herd of men made their way to the top of the Uchiha edifice where a private plane awaited.
Sasuke was nearly leaping, back to his sane mind, but leaping. At the vehicle, after holding the stone cold Sasuke down, he was injected with haloperidol. Sasuke slept for the entire drive to their home and to the departure location. Whatever it was, Sasuke's body accepted the treatment and had recovered because his senses were intact.
When Itachi woke his little brother, he was expecting the absolute worst, but Sasuke seemed fine. As fine as Sasuke could seem in such situation anyway. Itachi hesitantly requested they take more of that drug with them on this trip.
Once inside the plane, Sasuke sat aside from Itachi while his brother made calls. Kakashi and Deidara were also making reservations and their own type of investigations behind him. He couldn't help feeling like a child having everything done for him. As if Itachi read right through him, "call the maid you constantly like to fuck with. Tell her to cover for us and make sure father doesn't notice we are not there. He will eventually find out about this, but for now we can't afford to have any more complications." Itachi eyed him and returned to his call.
Sasuke sighed and let his head fall back against the seat. His inner turmoil was eating away at him. So much pain, anger, and anxiety was intoxicating him. When he opened his eyes, however, it was as if something had numbed this emotions. But guilt was still prickling at his chest. He closed his eyes and breathed in, he knew he couldn't waste time on that. All of this was on him, but he needed to think straight now more than ever. The thought of not knowing how long it would take him to have Naruto back to safety was what was now sending his sanity to the brink of destruction.
'Naruto...'
Kiba and Hinata paced inside the station and immediately spotted their other team mates in Jiraiya's office. They rushed in the office and slammed the door behind them. The air was thick and serious in the room and Jiraiya's expression was rather rigid. Shikamaru wasted no time and began as Hinata and Kiba seated themselves.
The chief took in all the information Shikamaru had to offer. Who could be after Naruto? He was almost sure Fugaku wasn't behind this. What would be his purpose? Earlier today he mentioned how he was somewhat thrilled to soon be working with such young chief of police. Faguku was definitely out of the list, but who else could it be? Sure being a cop meant making enemies, but to go this far? And not to mention, however it was have had to have some kind of group to help and make sure the abduction happened. This was all very out of the ordinary. The only thing his mind could come up with was someone who was against Naruto taking over his position.
"Um.." Hinata shyly but without hesitation tried to talk over the conversation. "Excuse me, chief. Shikimaru and I have been tracking the man named Yukio. The last place he was spotted was near Naruto-kun's apartment. All of us in this room know that he is involved with the dark side of this village. His intentions in kidnapping Naruto are a little vague at the moment but we do have one suspect now."
Three heads turned to Hinata and nodded in agreement.
Jiraiya followed suit. He rubbed his chin before giving the team their very detailed instructions. "I need you three to listen to me very carefully," he started.
Sasuke reluctantly turned to face Deidara and Kakashi who were both sitting behind Itachi and himself. Both seemed very in tune into what they were doing and Sasuke hated the very fact that he needed help with this as well.
He cleared his throat. "U-um, Deidara?" His voice was almost sheepish.
"Yeah, boss?" Deidara answered without nonchalantly without removing his sight from the laptop screen.
"What-uh, what's the maid's name? You know the one with that pink ha-?"
"Sakura." He answered before letting Sasuke finish.
"Thanks," Sasuke turned back to a glaring Itachi. Sasuke countered by giving him an annoyed expression.
Right. Like he knew the entire household staff's names too.
"Fuck off, Itachi." Sasuke adjusted himself back in his seat and pulled out his cell before dialing.
It rang twice before someone in a high pitch tone answered welcomely, "Uchiha Residence."
Without announcing himself, "The servant girl, Sakura, put her on the line."
"Of course, Mr. Uchiha, right away."
Sasuke heard a tap from the other end and small footsteps scurry away. He wondered if the staff was afraid of him or something. He had never bothered to think about it but when the woman realized it was him, her voice changed from happy and sweet to shaky and anxious. Before his mind could further into more useless thoughts, the shuffling from the phone rouse and an exhausted voice offered a weak greeting. "This is Haruno, how can I help you?"
Sasuke was going to ask what was wrong but honestly did not care, so proceeded after awkwardly clearing his throat. "Sakura? Can I ask you for a favor?"
Sasuke heard a faint gasp before she quickly switched moods. "Uchiha-sama? A-anything for you! Whatever it is, I'll do it."
With a hint of pity for this spineless girl and shame for his wretched self, he proceeded with his request. "Make sure my father doesn't notice we're gone when he leaves this morning. If he does make something up. Make it believable, Sakura." Sasuke almost yelped when Sasuke elbowed him in the ribs.
"What the fuck?!" His eyes jabbed at Itachi.
"Uh, um, how can I do that?" Sakura sounded nervous and unsure.
"Be nice you hairless asshole." Itachi warned.
"What the fuck? Why? She's going to do whatever I say anyway?"
While Sasuke and Itachi wordlessly argued, Sakura awkwardly wondered if Sasuke was still there. "Uchiha-sama?"
Sasuke rolled his eyes so hard, they were borderline rolling right off his head. "Call me Sasuke." If his hearing was intact, he could swear he heard and muffled squeal. "Please, Sakura, I know you're a smart girl."
Sakura furiously pinched her arm to make sure this was reality before finding composure and replying in her calmest of tones, "I'm sure I can find a way.."
"Thank you, Sakura, he must not realize we're not in the Village."
"Oh," Itachi tapped Sasuke's arm, interrupting him.
"What?" Sasuke bit out loud.
"Sasuke-kun, there is someone in the other line... Should I..?"
"Hn" Sasuke responded, his attention to Itachi.
"Tell her that if we get any calls from the police department, any investigators, or the prosecutor, to send them to my cell. The police are bound to find the car and start their own investigation. They'll want to speak to father so just tell her to transfer everyone over to me." He waved him off.
"Yeah and why do you keep saying her name?" Deidara quickly interjected.
"I don't know. Don't females turn strange and heated when you repeat their names?"
"Jesus christ, Sasuke."
"Hn. Hello?" Sasuke ignored the blond and returned to his call. "Haruno?"
oOo
"Yes, Uchiha residence."
"Hello, this is Jiraiya from the police department, may I please speak to Fugaku."
"Oh yes of-" Sakura paused. Something was definitely off with Sasuke. Not only was he being polite, he seemed to be a little anxious. The police department calling now seemed a little strange. Besides, if he really wanted to contact Fugaku wouldn't he reach him on his personal line? "I'm sorry, Jiraiya-sama, let me check to see if he's in the premises."
oOo
"Hello Sasuke-kun."
"What? Where were you?" Sasuke quickly answered a little annoyed at how much she enjoyed saying his name out loud.
"I got a call from the chief police, they're requesting to speak to your father."
Sasuke slapped his hand against his face, already expecting the worst, "-and?"
"…I told them I'd have to see if he was still in. They're still on hold."
Sasuke exhaled, he could kiss Sakura's -….hand- right now.
"Tell them my father is not available at the moment and transfer the call over to Itachi. Itachi here," he slaped itachi at his mention, "-will take care of it. We will taking off soon so be quick. If any other calls come through from the village officials, take a number. After an hour goes by simply transfer them over to Itachi's line. Don't do anything else but that. Inform the other girls to let you handle those calls if they do come."
Itachi took the phone from Sasuke's hand. "We appreciate everything…" he turned behind him with a questioning expression.
"Sakura" Kakashi answered unconcerned.
"-Sakura," Itachi finished. "My brother will indubitably thank you for all of this when we get back in any way you see fit." He ended the call and tossed the phone over to an enraged Sasuke. "What the fuck, since when do you care about showing or voicing appreciation, you jackass?
"I don't."
"Ya'll are some giant ass 12 year olds," Deidara munched on his lolipop before noticing two sets of glaring eyes. "Ha.. I might've accidentally said that out loud..."
Naruto opened his eyes again, he should feel ashamed of how much sleeping he had been doing lately, but what the hell else was he to do when he had a rag over his face all the damn time, and was completely immovable. If he wanted to fight his way he needed to be patient and well rested.
"We're here sleeping beauty." A deep voice announced before pulling Naruto up on his feet by his arm.
This was it, he wasn't sure what was going to happen next but.. this was it. His heart was beating fast with excitement and adrenaline. His blood was pumping and his muscles were throbbing for the fight. He was going to battle his way out. He had to think of something and fast. Although, he needed to see first what the hell was going on first.
'Okay, Uzumaki, alright...' Naruto warmed himself up.
Upon hearing car doors being closed and footsteps coming all around him, he was pushed from his back. "Walk."
Naruto intentionally traveled slower than a snail.
"If you don't walk faster, you're going to get your ass pummeled to the ground."
And he did.
Fists, elbows, knees, and feet all came crashing down, bruising limps and cutting skin. Naruto kept getting up to his knees or feet even and fighting off as much as he could blind and with joint writs tied up in front of him. It worked for him as good as the circumstances offered but the scene was soon interrupted by a low, raspy voice that made the world go mute.
"Enough. Take him in."
Naruto's blindfold was removed and he noticed it was night again. 'CHRIST!' Had they literally traveled an entire day? 'What the fuck!'
He was shoved behind and alley. Yukio knocked on a rusted brown door which caused a abnormally tall man to step out and greet them. He motioned his bald head for them to go inside.
Naruto internally winced at the fact that he'd probably have to fight this giant on his way out. They were lead into a bar, through the intoxicated roudy men and the drugged dancing women. Naruto counted three other doors that they went through before finally reaching their destination. He was angry at how deep they had traveled in this shitty building.
This would be a lot harder than the had thought.
Spontaneously Naruto was jabbed with a weapon in the kidney and forced down to his knees.
"Kakuzu-sama" Yukio knelt. "Using this man, we will, without a doubt, bring Uchiha Sasuke to you soon."
