New beginnings?
Lee sat slumped in his plastic chair (No metal, no sharp edges anywhere) with his head down and his arms crossed, trying hard to convey with his body language the message "Fuck off!!" and apparently not succeeding. The psychiatrist was looking at him expectantly.
"Well, Lee, will you please tell us why you feel the need to self-injure?" Lee hated these daily group sessions even more than he hated the one on one sessions. He mumbled something unintelligible, which usually got him off the hook. "I'm sorry, Lee, but you've ben here for 2 weeks and that's just not going to cut it anymore. Either you can tell us your trigger or we can sit here all day." Lee huffed and gave up. "I SAID my boyfriend of a year left me for two other men, and my sensei had to go on a stupid mission and it took forever and I didn't want to feel the hurt anymore and cutting makes it go away and I fucking HATE THIS PLACE!" The psychiatrist didn't even blink. "Now that wasn't so hard, was it? Don't you feel better?" Lee grudgingly nodded. He kind of did. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Later on in his room (everything bolted to the floor, no glass or metal, no way to plug the sink and no bathtub) Lee pondered his position. He had been resisting therapy the entire time he had been there, they had to hold him down to get him to take his medication, and he refused all visitors. Maybe if he cooperated they would let him out and he could have a long talk with Gai sensei. He couldn't have meant that he actually loved him, could he? Lee had idolized the man since he had been assigned to his team at 13, had crushed on him since realizing he was gay at 17, and had fallen in love with him when they began sleeping together when he was 18, before he began seeing Neji. He was so deep in thought that he placidly opened his mouth for his pills and held his hand out for the cup of water to take them with. "Nurse? Would you please tell the doctor that I'm looking forward to talking to him during our session today?" The nurse looked at him in shocked amazement and just nodded. Lee smiled. He finally had a reason to want to leave the hospital.
