Aftermath
Disclaimer: I don’t own any of the Naruto characters, I just like to imagine them in my own little world (which is totally of my making). No profits are made from this story, just gratuitous pleasure.
Summary: It was more than just a kiss. One minute he had been glaring into the eyes of his nemesis, Uchiha Sasuke, the next minute his lips were pressed firmly against those of that emotionless boy.

A/N: I must apologize, my last note made me sound like a sulky, petulant child. I think the actual lack of interest lies in me, the author, not in my readers. I am finding it hard to motivate myself to write any more at this point in time. This story was never intended to go on for so long, it was meant to be at best one or two chapters long. I am really struggling to keep it with the actual story line of the anime/manga. I still think it is able to stand on it’s own as it is, and perhaps at a later date, I will write the companion piece that follows Naruto’s quest to bring back Sasuke. Again, I would like to give my thanks to every one who had read it and left me comments. Comments are what makes a writer’s world go round. You all have made mine spin for a time and I appreciate each and every one of you. You are all wonderful people. Thank you for reading.

Bookworm51485: I am sorry that you were disappointed in the way they ended up. Believe me, it was a complete surprise to me to. All the way up until the actual moment, it was all Sasuke, then at the last moment, Naruto took over, or Sasuke let him take over. Actually, Sasuke was still being the dominant person, even if he was technically bottom for this encounter. Whenever I finally get to the companion piece, believe me, it will be all about Sasuke being in charge. Thank you for your comment, and your support.

I really wanted their first time to be believable, and first times usually aren’t the greatest. As for Itachi, I think I may have plans for him when I get to doing the sequel.

Aftermath
Naruto awoke fairly early the next morning, still feeling a bit of the afterglow of his lovemaking with Sasuke.
Ah, Sasuke, thought Naruto, and he reached out a hand, hoping to find a warm body still lying in the bed next to him. He wasn’t surprised to find himself alone, though. Guess he really didn’t want anyone seeing him leaving here. Too many nosy people that would ask questions or spread gossip, I guess.
Naruto smiled and jumped out of bed, gathering clean clothes before heading for the bathroom. A long, hot shower and he was ready to face the day.
“Guess I’ll go over to Sasuke’s place,” he said aloud to himself. “After all, he all but came out and said that I could. Maybe he’ll want to go get ramen with me.”
The thought made the blonde grin. His two favourite things: ramen and Sasuke (thought not necessarily in that order). He headed out the door to go in search of his errant lover.
Lover, he thought. I like that. I hope he enjoyed it as much as I did, though I was a bit surprised that he let me be on top. I always thought that when we finally did it, he’d be the one on top. Oh, well, you just never know with Sasuke. Guess that’s why I love him so much. He’s so unpredictable, it’s never dull.
Naruto’s silent musings were soon interrupted by a rather distraught Sakura heading in his direction, tears running down her face.
Now what? Naruto thought. I wonder what’s happened. Sasuke is usually the only one who can bring her to tears. God! I hope she didn’t see him leaving my place this morning. That would be a disaster!
He waited as she stopped in front of him, trying to control her tears.
Well, she hasn’t hit me yet, so it can’t be anything that I did, Naruto thought thankfully.
“Sakura, what’s wrong?” Naruto asked her finally. “Did Sasuke do something or say something to make you cry again?”
“Sasuke… Sasuke-kun…” the pink haired girl finally managed to get out, but nothing else that she said was coherent.
“What did Sasuke do?” Naruto demanded. “I’m on my way to see him. I’ll make him apologize for what ever it was that he did. Just tell me.”
“He’s… he’s gone,” Sakura sobbed, and then she collapsed into Naruto’s arms.
“Gone? What do you mean, ‘gone’? Gone where?” Naruto demanded, shaking the crying girl a bit, trying to get answers from her.
Wide eyed, with tears running down her face, Sakura finally related what had passed between herself and the Uchiha in the small hours of the night.
“Gone,” said Naruto, finally comprehending what she was telling him. “Gone.”
He stood quite still for a moment, letting it sink in, then dropped his arms from around Sakura and pushed her away gently.
“I have to get him back,” Naruto muttered, mostly to himself.
“Oh, please,” begged Sakura. “You have to go after him. You have to bring him back for me.”
“Don’t worry,” said Naruto as he walked away from the tearful girl. “I’ll bring him back.”
He left Sakura standing alone in the middle of the street and walked silently to the gate. He stood quietly for sometime, looking down the road that Sasuke surely must have taken, going who knows where, hell bent on his revenge.
“I’m going to bring you back, Sasuke,” the blonde vowed. “No matter where you have gone, no matter what happens, I’m going to find you and bring you home. You belong to me now, and I’m never going to let you go.”
Then he turned away. He knew that it wasn’t going to be easy, but somehow he would find Sasuke and bring him home. With that resolution, Naruto squared his shoulders and prepared to keep his vow.
