A/N: I was reading some of the comments from the last two chapter and i'm glad people like the story and are interested in the story that they jumped the gun of the story. For reference i've moved the Uchiha massacre a year later than what is in the anime and manga.

Chapter 8: Border Skirmishes
South West Border of the Land of Fire
Naruto was only aware of the darkness surrounding him. He couldn’t smell, couldn’t feel, couldn’t see, and couldn’t hear anything at all but the images and words that repeatedly speed through his consciousness.
‘Where am I, what’s going on?’ he thought trying to peer into the pitch black darkness that surrounded him.
“Kurama where are you?” He screamed as the panic of being abandoned began to take hold.
“Naruto is that you?” a female voice he recognised came from what seemed like a world away.
“Hinata where are you? Can you see anything?”
“I don’t know I can’t see anything.”
“Can you move towards my voice?”
“Sorry Naruto I can’t move at all.”
“Me neither.” Naruto said disappointed that neither of them could move while the images and words continued to storm through their minds.

Naruto slowly opened his eyes as a bright light was beating down on his face. With blurry vision he tried to turn his head to look around but couldn’t.
“Where am I?” He asked his voice dry and croaky.
“You’re in the camp infirmary.” A mysterious female voice said.
“Where is Hinata is she ok?”
“I’m right here Naruto I’m ok.” Hinata answered her hand squeezing his own. He hadn’t noticed that he could feel that someone was pressed up against him.
“What’s going on? What happened?”
“Why don’t you tell us Naruto?” Hayate asked as he stepped into Naruto’s clearing field of vision.
“I can’t remember everything but I’ll try. Naruto said as he began to tell what he remembered.
Just as Naruto started to tell of the hypnotic suggestion that was causing Hinata immense pain both physical and mental and the strange scent he had picked up he was interrupted by Hayate.
“Wait, wait you’re saying that somebody put a hypnotic suggestion into Hinata that was triggered by your touch?” Hayate asked.
“Yes, I used the Nine Tails chakra to enter her mindscape and confront the corruption. All I remember is winning a fight and cutting Hinata free then nothing.” Naruto replied a look of confusion on his face.
“You both have been unconscious for almost three days and we weren’t even able to separate you without causing you both considerable pain.” Hayate replied looking between the two Genin lying before him. “Alright that’s enough why don’t you two rest.” He said dismissing the attendants before leaving himself.
Alone the two rolled on to their sides facing each other and began to whisper to each other.
“You remember everything don’t you?” Hinata whispered in Naruto’s ear.
“Yes I remember everything.” Naruto rasped trying to whisper.
“Then why didn’t you tell them that Sasuke was the culprit?”
“Because they wouldn’t believe me, they want his clan’s power, they want the Sharingan.” Naruto muttered angrily. “Hinata did you see anything when I cut you free?” he whispered nervous of how she would answer.
“Yes.”
“My memories?”
“Yes.”
“My Hate?”
“Yes.”
“My pain?”
“Yes.”
“I saw yours as well.” He said as he searched her eyes.
“My shame?”
“Yes.”
“My pain?”
“Yes.”
“My hope?”
“Yes and your love.” He answered wiping away the tears that had started to fall from her full moon like eyes. With his right hand on her cheek he leaned forward and brushed his lips against hers. She answered by hungrily kissing him back with the assurance that he hadn’t rejected her, that he didn’t hate or despise her, didn’t think that she was weak, that even under his cold hate filled heart just maybe he might learn to love her as much as she loved him.

They had been in the infirmary for three days even though it had felt like a week. Both Naruto and Hinata had received visits from their team mates, all except Sasuke. Today, today was different none of their team mates had come to see them and they couldn’t hear anything from the rest of the camp and the only remaining medical ninja wouldn’t tell them anything.
“I wonder what’s going on.” Hinata said as she entered the room after getting fully dressed.
“Yeah it’s a little too quite.” Naruto replied buckling on his sword and crescent daggers.
They walked out of the infirmary hand in hand and headed for the campsite of Squad Eight. As they passed the other campsites they noticed that some were completely deserted and emptied while others still had stashed gear. As they neared Squad Eight’s camp they could see it was completely deserted except for Hinata’s gear.
“Let’s try Squad Seven’s campsite.” Naruto said looking around and not seeing anybody.
Haku watched as Naruto and Hinata walked over to her as she tended to Squad Seven’s campsite.
“Hey Haku, what’s going on? Where is everybody?” Naruto asked as Haku hugged him.
“Gone, they’re gone off to set an ambush for those Stone shinobi to the northwest.” She replied taking Naruto’s hand and leading him over to the rest of his gear.
“How many people are here?” he asked as he checked his gear.
“Ten guards, the medical ninja in the infirmary and us three.” Haku said just as an explosion rocked the ground and a massive fireball lit up the sky to their right. They watched as some of the perimeter guards came running past towards the sound of battle that Naruto’s sensitive hearing could easily hear.
“Should we help?” Naruto asked the two girls. They nodded and sighing Naruto lead the way towards the battle.
The seven Leaf shinobi that were alive and fighting were completely outnumbered as they approached the battlefield. As they closed in Hinata had her Byakugan activated and was reporting everything to Naruto.
“Stop, wait.” Hinata shouted just as a large rock spike exploded from the ground and barely missed impaling Naruto.
The three stopped just past the rock spike. Standing in front of them were ten Hidden Stone ninja. From the centre of the line walked out a massive mountain of a man.
“Well, well it’s our lucky day boys. We’ve found us some fun for the night and one’s a Hyuga to boot.” The giant grinned looking over his shoulders at his companions.
Naruto stepped forward a low animalistic growl emanating from his throat as his negative emotions allowed Kurama’s chakra to seep out and form a single tailed Chakra Cloak around Naruto. “They are mine. You even try to touch them and I will kill you.” Naruto growled as he stood in front of Haku and Hinata.
“Such an impudent little boy, you should leave before I crush the life from you.” The giant replied walking towards Naruto his arm shifting from flesh and blood to a large rock cudgel. The giant raised his arm above his head and brought it crashing down on where the blonde’s head should have been smashing through to the ground beneath causing an earthquake and massive dust cloud to erupt into the air.
As the dust cleared Naruto was nowhere to be seen just a giant crater where he had been standing.
“That was easy. What is the Leaf Village doing sending boys to do a man’s job.” The giant laughed his men following suit. Still laughing he turned his attention to the calm Haku and Hinata.
“Why so calm ladies? Your boy is nothing but dust ah you have already resigned yourselves to being our playthings huh?” the giant laughed stepping towards the two girls his hand returning to normal.
“No he’s not and no we have not.” Haku said calmly a smile coming to her lips as she watched Naruto drop onto the giant.
Naruto had easily dodged the blow and using the cover of the dust cloud had manoeuvred high in to the closest tree to his right. He watched and waited as the giant gloated before falling onto the giant. As he landed on the giant ninja’s shoulders he thrust with the hidden blade of his right gauntlet at the giant’s neck. The blade shattered as it made contact with the giants neck which was as hard as rock.
The stone ninja roared in anger and plucked a surprised Naruto off of his shoulders and tossed him away like a child flings a rag doll. Naruto crashed into a tree breaking a few ribs and fell heavily to the ground. He struggled to get up as it was hard for him to breathe with his broken ribs. He watched almost helplessly as the other nine Stone ninjas moved to encircle Hinata and Haku as they fell into a back to back defensive posture.
Hinata leapt at the two closest Stone ninjas scattering them as they tried to avoid getting hit with her Gentle Fist. Using the gap that Hinata had made Haku slipped out of the circle. She was already weaving signs as she created and threw and endless supply of ice shuriken at the chasing ninja.
From Hinata’s blind spot the giant stone ninja grabbed Hinata and lifted her off of her feet. Hinata screamed in agony as the ninja’s massive hands crushed her breasts against her sternum. The ninja spun around and tossed Hinata towards the majority of his team. Hinata’s shirt and jumper tore from where his hands had been grasping her breasts. She was caught by two stone ninja where one proceeded to hit her on the head stunning her as the other facing Naruto roughly fondled her breasts.
Naruto’s rage hit an all new high and he was quickly overwhelmed by Kurama’s chakra forcing him into a two tailed chakra cloak state his right eye turning crimson like a blood red moon, matching his left eye. His ribs rapidly healed and before anyone could react he was in front of the two ninjas holding Hinata. He grabbed Hinata with his two hands as his two tails shot forward and pierced the two ninja’s hearts. Before their bodies hit the ground Naruto was beside Haku placing Hinata on her feet. Turning back to the eight remaining Stone ninja he pulled a few special kunai from the holster on his left leg. He tossed them at the farthest ninja and quickly weaved a few hand signs and instantly disappeared.
“Where is that little punk?” The giant Stone ninja yelled looking around.
Haku and Hinata watched in amazement as Naruto suddenly appeared in front of the farthest ninja and quickly decapitated him with a single swipe of his right chakra cloaked hand before disappearing again. The other two ninja whom Naruto had thrown his special kunai at ducked below the weakly thrown kunai. Naruto appeared over one as the kunai passed over his head and crushed the ninja with a two handed hammer fist to the top of his head. The ninja crumpled to the ground every bone in his body broken and shattered. Naruto again disappeared as he hit the ground and emerged behind the last of his original three targets and using his chakra cloak tails to stab through the lungs of his victim, picking him up and throwing him back down on his head shattering his skull and spine.
The remaining five Stone ninja looked at Naruto in shock. “That’s the Fourth’s Jutsu.” The leader of the Stone ninja said a slight look of terror on his face.
“Uh boss he does look like the Fourth.” One of the few surviving ninja remarked fear written all over his face.
“So the Fourth had a brat. Well, well looks like we have a perfect chance to get revenge for the defeat at Kannabi Bridge. Go return to the others and bring back up I will hold them here.”
“Really you think you can take the three of us on?” Haku asked questioningly taking all of the attention off of Naruto who was quick to act.
Naruto burst forward in an orange flash and was behind the closest two Stone ninja. In a series of slashes with his chakra cloak claws had torn apart their brown ballistic vests and had torn open their chests, blood spurting all over his face.
The giant Stone ninja roared in outrage and charged at Naruto who sidestepped the charging ninja using his tails to trip the giant. The giant crashed to the ground and Naruto jumped on his back and with his left fist punched down onto the back of the ninja’s head smashing it into the ground, creating a crater and dust cloud. With his right hand he thrust down piercing the back of the ninja’s neck piercing through the rock like skin the ninja had. Naruto grasped his victim’s spine and yanked with all his chakra cloak enhanced strength and tore the ninja’s spine out throwing his head and howling in triumphant rage.
The two remaining Stone ninja looked at each other before turning tail and running for dear life. They just signed their death warrant as they triggered Naruto’s enhanced animalistic abilities. Naruto turned and in an orange flash was overtaking the fleeing Stone shinobi. He stopped in front of them and wrapped his arm around the neck of the nearest ninja and snapped his neck. As the second ninja turned to avoid the devastating blonde killing machine, he tripped and fell face first to the ground. He turned and watched as Naruto walked over to him his crimson eyes flaring with killer intent.
Naruto stood above the fallen, fearful ninja and without mercy rained down punch after punch into the ninja’s chest, left, right, left, right until there was nothing left but a pair of legs and a large blood stain inside a large crater.
Naruto paced backwards and forwards looking for a target for his rage. Slowly his rage died with no new fuel to feed it. As he calmed down first one chakra cloak tail disappeared then the other until finally the cloak just dissipated. Exhausted he crumpled to the ground his breathing haggard as he tried to regain his strength.
Haku and Hinata raced over to him, soon by his side helping to support him in his drained state. They dragged Naruto away from the crater he had just destroyed a ninja inside. They dragged him towards the closest tree that was about ten steps behind them. They propped Naruto up against the tree as his knees gave out and he slid down into a sitting position. They each sat down beside him Haku sitting to his left Hinata his right, both pressing themselves against him letting him know that they were there for him.
Naruto was soon asleep as his body started to recharge. The girls beside him lightly giggling as he shifted against them, rubbing his body against theirs and what sounded like a purr come from his chest.
A few minutes later Hana and her team found them like that both Haku and Hinata with her breasts still exposed standing guard over the soundly sleeping Naruto who in his sleep began to fret when he no longer felt their physical presence.
“You guys alright what happened here?” Hana asked as her three dog companions began sniffing around the battlefield.
“Nothing much just finished crushing these dead Stone ninja in a little skirmish.” Haku replied nonchalantly this was after all Naruto’s victory.
Hana turned to one of growling hounds as he looked at Naruto.
“I’d say Naruto did the crushing yes?” Hana asked with a laugh. She was a little shocked as she saw the looks of fear and worry on the faces of her team mates. “Come on let’s get sleeping beauty back to camp.”

Most of the teams had returned to camp with only one casualty, which had been one of the Chunins. They entered the camp with one of Hana’s hounds carrying the sleeping Naruto. Hana dismissed her team and followed Haku as she led them to Squad Seven’s camp. Hana, Hinata and Haku together were able to pull Naruto off of the dog and lie him down next to his gear.
“Well I have to report to Hayate so I’ll leave him here with you two. Oh Hinata you might want to get a change of clothes, every guy has been starring at your ‘assets’ ever since we arrived.” Hana laughed as Hinata blushed and quickly covered her exposed breasts with her hands.
“Here you can use this, it’s not like you haven’t already.” Haku joked as she rummaged through Naruto’s gear and pulled out a spare jumper. She laughed even louder as she watched Hinata’s blush deepen.
“What’s this, what are you talking about?” Hana asked curious about what Haku was saying.
“Come back later and I’ll tell you all about it.” Haku said a large grin forming on her face.
“I’ll hold you to that but now I must really go and report to Hayate.” Hana replied chuckling at the feisty ice user’s mischievous grin.
“You’re not really going to tell her are you?” Hinata asked the grinning ice user as Hana walked away still chuckling.
“Only if Naruto tells me not to otherwise who knows.” Haku grinned teasing her.

Naruto slowly awoke from his exhausted sleep. It was twilight and he looked around the campsite and watched Haku, Hana and Hinata who were the only people in the camp besides him, talking next to a fire. He quietly slipped away from the camp and snuck his way to Hayate’s command tent.
As Naruto walked up to the entrance he was challenged by one of the two ninja’s standing guard at the entrance to the large tent. “What is your business here Naruto?” one of the guards asked.
“I’m here to talk with Hayate sensei. Is he in the tent?” Naruto replied trying to peek into the tent.
“Let him in.” Hayate’s voice said from inside the tent.
Naruto walked past the guards and entered the tent to see Hayate and Kakashi looking over a map of the border region.
“What can I do for you Naruto?” Hayate asked not even turning around to face the blonde who stood behind them.
“I wanted to talk about the incident with Hinata. I told you that I didn’t remember anything about who was behind it. It was Sasuke I fought in Hinata’s mind. I know you probably don’t believe me.” Naruto said as he turned to leave but was stopped by Hayate as he grabbed the blonde’s shoulder and turned him around to face him and Kakashi.
“No I believe you. Ever since the incident I’ve gone over every ninja clan with the skills and abilities that can influence someone’s mind.” Hayate replied looking at Kakashi to continue.
“In the Hidden Leaf there are few clans that can manipulate the mind. At the moment I can only think of three or four. They are the Yamanaka who can look into and takeover someone’s mind, the Uchiha with the Sharingan, The Kurama who are genjutsu specialists and the Rinha who are medical ninjutsu specialists that can use herbs to alter the mind. And there are only two of those clans here.” Kakashi said as he ticked off each clan with his fingers.
“What I don’t get is though why a member of your squad would try to have you killed?” Hayate said looking between Naruto and Kakashi.
“And IF it was Sasuke how long has Sasuke’s Sharingan been activated?” Kakashi asked looking suspiciously at Naruto.
“Or maybe it was someone else with a Sharingan planting an illusion of Sasuke inside Hinata’s mind.” Naruto replied catching the suspicious look and emphasized if from Kakashi. “Look I know nobody would believe me that’s why I didn’t tell you. I know the village wants the Sharingan of the last Uchiha. Fuck I’m surprised they haven’t started throwing women at him to get pregnant.” Naruto continued turning around and walking out the tent.
“Kakashi what was that about? He was obviously telling the truth. Now tell me what you know about this Sasuke Uchiha.” Hayate ordered the silver haired Jonin.
“What do you want to know?”
“When did Sasuke awaken his Sharingan?”
“Some time during his academy days, whether before or after the massacre I don’t know. But he had awakened it before I took command of Squad Seven. Only in the last few weeks has it fully awakened”

It was midday and the Leaf shinobi were lying in wait high in the trees for the oncoming Hidden Stone shinobi. They were organized by rank with the Jonin up front with the Chunin behind them and the Genin taking up the rear.
Naruto stood in-between Squad’s Seven and Eight. On his left were Haku and Squad Seven. On his right were Hinata and Squad Eight. He watched as the signal for enemy spotted was relayed back through the ranks.
Soon Naruto could smell the enemy as the Leaf shinobi were down wind of the approaching Hidden Stone shinobi. “They’re coming.” He said to himself readying himself for the fight against overwhelming odds to come.
An explosion rocked the forest as the Stone ninja triggered the first line of the traps. Out of the smoke ran two staggered lines of ten shinobi. Naruto watched as they triggered more of the traps.
“What the fuck are they doing? They are just running blind into deadly traps.” Naruto said aloud astonished that these ninjas were running straight to their deaths.
Hana who was standing in front of and to Naruto’s right, in front of her younger brother answered. “It is the way of many in the Hidden Stone they use Genin and lower class Chunin as fodder for traps and as bait for stronger ninja to attack and leave themselves open. It is a technique they tried to use against your father.”
“What are you talking about?” Naruto asked keeping the fact he knew who his parents were secret.
“What you don’t know? Your father was the Fourth Hokage, you are the spitting image of him.” she replied looking back at him in confusion.
“Nobody’s ever told me who my parents were.” Naruto replied lowering his head so nobody could see his face.
“Sis are you serious that loser is the son of the Fourth Hokage?” Kiba asked looking between Naruto and his sister.
“What you never realised he looked almost exactly like the Fourth’s image on the Hokage Mountain.” Hana replied looking at her brother like he was blind, deaf and dumb.
Another explosion rocked the trees cutting off further conversation as the Stone’s fodder continued to trigger the multiple traps the Konoha ninja had set up. Out from the smoke emerged over one hundred ninja in red shirts covered by brown ballistic vests. As the front ranks moved forward they triggered the last of the traps and explosions and lines of kunai and shuriken cut through the first three ranks of Stone shinobi. The back ranks were protected as large mud and stone walls erupted from the ground to protect the fourth row and behind from the danger.
As the walls came down Hayate launched the next phase of traps and the front row of Konoha Jonin launched a devastating rain of long distance ninjutsu. Fireballs, lightning bolts, large balls of solid rock and jagged rocks flew at the now vulnerable ranks of Stone ninja. As the multiple ninjutsu flew Naruto summoned two hundred clones. The multiple ninjutsu struck the defenceless Stone shinobi. This was Naruto’s moment; the two hundred clones drew their katana and attacked. They sped from their starting positions and as the smoke cleared from the ninjutsu strikes the clones crashed into the stunned ninja. The front row of Stone ninja died to a man as almost a hundred swords came slashing down upon them.
From the back rows of the Stone shinobi came their counterattack. Jagged spikes of stone were flying at the front one hundred clones of Naruto. Half instantly burst into smoke as they were struck by the flying spears of stone.
Naruto produced another two hundred clones and let them charge into the swirling smoke which had started to dissipate. Again the clones crashed into the front rows of the Stone line. This time as the Naruto clones crashed into the Stone ninja like a wave against a cliff, the Leaf Jonin behind the clones launched another volley of ninjutsu at the Stone ninja.
Naruto screamed in pain as all of his clones were instantly and violently dismissed. He slipped from the branch he was standing on and began to fall towards the ground below. He slammed into something cold and slid down the icy slide that Haku had created to catch Naruto. His feet hit the ground and he fell forward onto his hands and knees.
As the battle was joined and both sides fought around him he took no notice of it as he desperately tried to breathe. He took no notice of the dead body that fell in front of his face or the three people around him trying to protect him from the storm of battle.
The pained screams of Haku and Hinata shocked him into seeing and hearing the battle that waged around him. He could see Haku holding a hand to her bleeding thighs from a sword cut. He could see Hinata pulling a bloody kunai from her arm as she lay on the ground her lips split and bleeding.
“Kurama give me your power.” Naruto shouted to the fox spirit. He staggered to his feet and threw his head back and screamed in rage as his body was flooded with Kurama’s power.
At Naruto’s rage filled scream many of the Leaf and Stone shinobi turned to watch as the blonde Genin was enveloped by an orange chakra aura. The bubbling aura began to take shape as Naruto’s body began to undergo changes. His hands and nails became razor sharp claws, his canine fangs elongated, his whisker makers became darker and more pronounced, his hair became more wild and messy and tellingly his left eye turned cerulean blue like his right both with cat-like irises. The chakra cloak became more defined with two long ears and three long tails.
Naruto looked at the two injured girls. He lay on of the tails on Haku’s injured legs, the other he laid atop Hinata’s injured arm. He poured Kurama’s chakra into the wounds and removed his tails. The wounds were completely healed.
Behind Hinata readying to throw more kunai at her was Naruto’s first target and in an orange flash he was standing behind the ninja with his two crescent daggers in hand he slashed through the back of the Stone ninja’s neck severing his spine. And so it went Naruto was nothing but an orange flash going from one enemy to another as he cut his way through almost a quarter of the enemies forces that had tried to attack either him or the two he cared about.

Not far away he saw Sasuke and Kakashi fighting back to back. Sasuke had his Sharingan activated and Naruto could see it was fully formed with three tomoe. Kakashi had also pushed up his head band and was also using his Sharingan.
Naruto saw that Hayate was being overwhelmed as he fought against four Stone shinobi two of his three team members lay dead at his feet the third was being choked by a large Stone ninja and was soon about to join them. Naruto grabbed one of his special Hiraishin formula infused kunai, ‘let’s hope this works at this distance.’ He thought throwing the kunai at the ninja choking Hayate’s team mate. The ninja seeing the flying kunai dropped the ninja he was choking and caught the kunai.
“Perfect.” Naruto said as he disappeared and reappeared in front of the Stone ninja and with a cross slash of his crescent daggers cut the throat of the large Stone ninja. Sheathing his two daggers and the kunai he took from the dead ninja’s hand, he drew his katana and created two shadow clones. He and the clones attacked the Stone ninja that was circling behind the distracted Hayate.
“Hidden Leaf style: Dance of the Crescent Moon,” Naruto whispered as he and his clones attacked the distracted ninja. The two clones scored a hit on each side of the ninja’s torso as Naruto came down from above and slashed through flesh and bone to cleave the ninja from left shoulder to right hip.
Naruto and Hayate moved into a defensive posture back to back as the clones came around the sides of Hayate to attack the two Stone ninja trying to circle behind him. The clone to Hayate’s right moved back away from the fighting ninja allowing him to further circle behind Hayate only for the original Naruto to rush from behind Hayate and skewer the ninja through the stomach. Naruto reversed his grip into an underhand grip and pulled up cutting through flesh and bone to cut through the ninja’s heart and lung and emerge from the crease between shoulder and neck.
This space gave Naruto the oppotunity to tear loose and he rushed at the remaining two Stone ninja. He jumped at the closest one kicking him in the face and sent him flying to crash into a tree ten metres away. As the other ninja turned to face Naruto while back tracking away from Naruto’s other clone and Hayate, Naruto just jumped at him and using his chakra tails grabbed the ninja’s weapon hand and a leg before he wrapped his third tail around the ninja’s neck and snapped his neck like a twig. The clone slowly walked past the original Naruto over to the ninja who had crashed into the tree. The ninja’s left arm was dangling from his side it was obviously dislocated. As he struggled to get to his feet the clone thrust his katana through the ninja’s heart killing him instantly and painlessly.
“Retreat, Retreat all of you fall back we’re done here.” The leader of the Stone shinobi called as she glared daggers at the blonde monster that had wiped out almost half her force by himself.
The Leaf shinobi watched as the enemy fled from the battlefield. Naruto dismissed his two clones and Kurama stopped supplying his chakra to Naruto who wobbled slightly as his body began to revert back to normal his left eye going back to its crimson red and his claws returning to normal hands.
“Are you ok Hayate sensei?” Naruto asked the man as he began to cough.
“Yeah been a while since I have been in such a fight. Oh by the way that Dance of the Crescent Moon was perfect.” Hayate congratulated the blonde. “Tell me Naruto do you have full control over the Nine Tails power?”
