The rest of the night was somewhat subdued, the three of them affected by what had happened. There was no doubt that the training was a success, but something else had happened, too. Something emotional that they didn't quite have a word for - or, at least, a word they wanted to use. They'd stepped into the shower together to clean up and it, too, had devolved quickly.
They managed to get to the bed in time for her to have them fill her all over again. Yamato took her from behind after she straddled Kakashi and they taught her how to move, how to control it herself. And sometime much later, they lay together in the quiet, their thoughts occupied with each other and the upcoming mission.
The next morning, they checked out as late as they could manage and headed back to town. Before they made it all the way to the gates, Sakura stopped and turned to the other two. " I want to thank you." When they glanced at each other and just raised an eyebrow at her, she swallowed. "That was…" she shrugged and smiled, "indescribable. Thank you, for the training, for all that you've given me from it, for taking care of me." She stepped up to them and kissed each of them softly. "Thank you for you."
She started to turn, but they wouldn't quite let her. "Thank you. For trusting us with it." They each kissed her again and it was her turn to need a minute to breathe.
As they passed through the gates to Konoha, Genma stepped out from behind the desk of the guard house. "Hello, you three. Tsunade said you'd be coming back today."
They glanced at each other, a little uncomfortable. They weren't sure how much they wanted their Hokage to know about the last several days. Kakashi cleared his throat. "Is there something you need?"
"Yeah, Tsunade asked me to let you know that she needs to see you. All of you."
They traded looks among themselves, thanked Genma and headed up to Hokage tower, none of them looking forward to what was ahead.
Tsunade considered the two groups of ninja in front of her. She didn't miss the way the men stood close to the women in their group or the subtly protective body language they displayed. She wouldn't have thought to suggest that they take to the training the way they did, with both senior members of their teams contributing, but it seemed to have worked out very well. And would serve them well when things got ugly on this mission. And Tsunade had a sinking feeling it would. She'd won money in yesterday's lotto.
She cleared her throat and took a deep breath. "You are both aware of the nature of the mission you're about to undertake. I'll give you another chance to say no, if you want to." Her voice was quiet as she looked over the two women. She paused and waited, but both women kept their mouths firmly shut. "Very well, I had a feeling. Thank you. That said, you'll be leaving early tomorrow and heading to Port City. Sakura, do you remember Boss Jirocho?"
Sakura nodded. "Head of the Wasabi family?"
Tsunade smiled. "That's him. He's turned Degarashi Port over to Idate and moved down to Port City. He's friends with the manager of the Neko Club portion of Jigoku and has already secured you jobs as dancers. Meet with him first and he'll get you introduced and started."
She paused and looked at Sakura's group. Kakashi and Yamato were both holding on to their patience very carefully. Good. If anything happened to Sakura, she could count on them to tear the place down since she couldn't very well go do it herself. "You four guys will follow them in two weeks, once they've had an opportunity to get established in the club. It would be too suspicious if you appeared at the same time. Furthermore, you'll make contact at the club itself, and Sakura and Tenten can leave instructions with Boss Jirocho as to how. Report in regularly, but expect it to take a while to break this open. Questions?"
No one spoke at first, even Gai and Lee, normally the most over exuberant pair in the village, had kept quiet. Then the older one asked, "do we have to leave anything to identify if they get hurt?"
"Hell, no. Just give me something to fight the daimyo with." That eased the tension a bit. "This is going to be a hard mission and Konoha is in your debt for taking it. Please be careful," she said to Sakura and Tenten. "We have a vested interest in you returning unharmed." Both women nodded. Tsunade stared at them another minute, wanting to say more, but not sure how to word it. Instead, she simply said, "Dismissed!"
At the bottom of the stairs, Tenten turned to Sakura. "How about seven tomorrow morning at the South gates?"
Sakura nodded. "That sounds good. See you then." She waved and turned toward her apartment. It took her a few steps to realize that both Yamato and Kakashi were still with her. "Is...there something you need?"
They glanced at each other, then looked back at her. Yamato cleared his throat. "I - we - wondered if you might want to have dinner together before you leave tomorrow."
"You...both?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.
They nodded and she blinked at them. She wasn't sure what she'd expected when it was over. She, herself, was still trying to figure it all out, wondering how she would manage to sleep through the night without them next to her after nearly a week together. Nothing had come to her yet. "Okay, but...how about you annoy me while I pack, we get some take out, and just stay in?"
That was met with hearty approval and an hour later, she was stepping over them as she gathered her things. They'd managed, somehow, to take over her tiny bedroom, even though they only sat in one corner each. Every time she passed one or the other, they felt the need to reach out and touch some part of her. After the third or fourth pass, she was finding it extremely difficult to concentrate on the task at hand instead of the feelings rioting through her body.
"Okay, out." She spun on her heel and sent a glare at each of them.
"What?" Kakashi asked with feigned innocence.
"You know what. I have to pack and you're doing more than just annoying me, you're making me downright insane. So, get out. Go sit on the couch, fetch the take out or whatever. Just go."
"I didn't know we were doing anything," Yamato started, but she turned her glare on him.
"I'm going to give you both ten seconds to vacate the room or I will pull my gloves out." Before the words were completely out of her mouth, both men poofed into thin air. She sighed.
With them out of the way, she managed to get the rest of her stuff packed without incident. She was cramming the last of her things into her bag and pulling it closed when she heard the knock on the door.
She dragged her pack to the living room and left it by the door as she opened it. Both of the guys were there, Kakashi holding a large bag of takeout food in one hand and...they'd changed out of their uniforms. Simple dark pants, snug sweaters on both of them and Sakura paused to force the drool back.
"Are you finished?" Kakashi looked chagrined.
"We promise not to get in your way." Yamato smiled sheepishly.
"I'm done." She stepped back and couldn't stop the stare as they walked past her. As snug as the ninja uniforms were, they were nothing compared to this. She'd spent the last several days seeing those two butts naked, but somehow in those pants, they were even sexier.
"Sakura?" Kakashi asked politely and she shook her head to clear it, closing and locking the door behind her.
As soon as it was, his mask came down and they approached her. "What?"
"It's been a long day." Kakashi said.
"A very long day." Yamato added.
She looked from one to the other and then they pounced. She didn't know, at first, whose lips were on hers or who's hands were running down her back. She just knew it was them and that she needed to feel it. But when they broke apart a few seconds later, Sakura's stomach growled.
She blushed bright red and mumbled, "sorry."
"Well, none of us ate lunch. It wouldn't be a bad idea to get some fuel first, anyway." Kakashi said with a smile as he set the bag of food on the coffee table and headed into her tiny kitchen to start water for tea. After a brief dazed moment, she joined Yamato on the couch and started pulling the containers of food out.
Naruto's mind was firmly on his next bowl of ramen. He'd been training again, trying to work on a new technique and was hungry. But as he turned the corner toward Ichiraku's Ramen stand, he saw that Sakura's light was on.
Momentarily derailed, he leapt lightly from one roof to the next until he landed on the tiny ledge outside her living room window. And stopped dead. Yamato was sitting on Sakura's couch, wearing normal clothes, his headband missing. And Sakura was sitting in his lap. Straddling his lap, to be more accurate. She had a box of takeout open and was currently feeding him.
As a very shocked Naruto watched, she missed his mouth with a piece and , laughing, leaned forward, and licked the bit of sauce off of his face. Yamato turned his head and even as thick as Naruto could be, he understood the look of love that passed between them. And then before he knew it, Sakura and Yamato were kissing. Not just kissing, but kissing. She had her hands threaded through his hair, his arms were wrapped around her and their lips were practically fused together.
But Naruto wasn't done being surprised. A moment later, Kakashi walked into the living room, carrying a small tray with three cups and a teapot on it. Ha! Now they'll get it! Naruto thought, but instead, Kakashi set the tray down and sat on the couch next to Yamato. Sakura offered him a piece of the food and he opened his mouth. She fed it to him, then leaned over and, after he'd finished swallowing, proceeded to start kissing him like she had been kissing Yamato only a second ago.
Naruto's brain had seen enough. The shock was just a bit too much for his system and he lost his balance and crashed the three stories to the ground, hitting his head on each subsequent ledge along the way.
"What was that?" Kakashi stood up and headed to the window.
Sakura untangled herself from Yamato and the three of them leaned out the window to see Naruto on the ground below. They hurried out the door and down the stairs to see what was going on.
Sakura leaned over him and slapped him awake. "NARUTO!"
"Huh? Sakura-chan?" He looked from one face to the next. "Kakashi-sensei? Yamato-taichou?"
"Naruto, are you okay?" Sakura asked, wishing she had stopped to grab her medical flashlight.
"I just had the weirdest vision," he said as he sat up. "I thought I saw the three of you in Sakura-chan's apartment. And you were kissing." He shook his head. "I mean, you, Kakashi-sensei and you, Yamato-taichou weren't kissing each other, but you were both kissing Sakura-chan. That was weird."
He stopped as he noticed them pass a look between them. "That wasn't a vision, Naruto. What were you doing at my window?"
"I saw your light on and was...wait, it wasn't a vision?" His eyes got big and he stared from one to the next.
"No, but that's none of your business." She stepped back and, satisfied that he wasn't hurt despite the damage he'd made on his way down, started back up the steps.
"What's going on here?" She heard him ask.
"Let's not talk about this out here, okay?" Kakashi said and he and Yamato turned to follow Sakura. With no other choice, Naruto fell in behind them.
Back in her apartment, Sakura sat back on the couch and Yamato and Kakashi took their spots on either side of her. Naruto went to the only other chair in the room - an old beat-up armchair and sat down. "Okay, so, what's going on here?'
"We were having dinner with Sakura before she leaves for a mission tomorrow." Kakashi explained. His mask was back in place and he wondered if it would sink in to Naruto that he had just glimpsed his face.
"She's going on a mission? Without us?"
Sakura nodded. "Yes, Naruto. Without you. Without Kakashi, Yamato or Sai, either. It's just me and Tenten."
"Why?"
She glanced at Kakashi, then at Yamato and sighed. "I'm going undercover."
"Undercover?"
She nodded, then proceeded to explain what was going on. When she finished, he jumped up. "I should just go down there! I'll smash that place to the ground!"
Kakashi sighed and Yamato shook his head. "Think, Naruto. By the time you finished destroying the place, how do you think we'd find the missing-nin that's running it? We want to finish this operation, not just get it moved."
"Oh." He sat back down. "That still doesn't explain what I saw." He peered from one to the other.
Sakura swallowed. "I'm sure you noticed I haven't been home for a while." When he nodded, she sighed. "I was training for the mission."
"Training? What kind of training?"
Sakura had about reached her limit. This was bad enough without a thorough explanation. She buried her very red face in her hands. "Naruto, she's posing as an exotic dancer in the club. And the dancers in the club do more than just dance." Even Kakashi's voice had an edge to it.
There was a very pregnant pause as he absorbed the implications of that. "Oh."
"Yes, 'oh.'" Yamato piped in, striving for his own patience.
"So, were...you training her?"
"He finally gets it," Sakura said through her hands.
"Are you still training her then?"
This time, no one said anything. They weren't, not by a long shot, but they hadn't exactly made a conscious decision to form the bond that they did. They had no name for it, didn't fully understand it themselves, so how could they explain it to him?
It was Sakura who dropped her hands and looked up at him. "No, Naruto, they weren't still training me. We finished my training this morning."
"Wait, so you were just..." he blinked as the pieces clicked into place. "Oh. Do...Kakashi-sensei, Yamato-taichou...do you...love...Sakura-chan?"
Sakura lost the fight with her blush and buried her face in her hands again. "Don't. Don't say anything. You don't have to answer that." She said through them.
What she didn't see was Kakashi and Yamato look at each other over her head. "Yes, Naruto..." Kakashi said.
"We do," Yamato finished for him.
Sakura couldn't have been any more shocked if someone had dropped a full bucket of ice cold water over her head that moment. She turned first to Kakashi, then to Yamato. They were both staring at her, Naruto having been momentarily forgotten. "You...do?"
They nodded slowly. "I..." she paused to clear her throat, take a deep breath. "I do, too." Her voice was just barely over a whisper. "I...didn't mean for this..." she shook her head and tried very hard to fight tears. What had she done?
She didn't realize she'd spoken the last bit out loud. "You didn't do anything, Sakura-chan!"
They looked over at Naruto. "What?"
"I said, you didn't do anything. They don't look like they don't want to be here, do you?" He asked the other two.
"Of course we want to be here." Kakashi lifted her face up to him. "No one plans something like this. We've both been through this before with a kunoichi. How could we expect it to turn out this way?"
"I certainly didn't. But I don't regret it, Sakura." Yamato ran his finger down her cheek, tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear. "It makes tomorrow - and the next two weeks - very difficult, but...if there's one thing we've learned, it's how to deal with the difficult."
She swallowed hard. "Well, hell." She closed her eyes, and all three of them saw the struggle for her to pull herself together. She took a deep breath. "I don't know what to say."
"Don't say anything," Kakashi said. "We don't have to talk about it now. There'll be time for that after the mission."
She nodded and sighed. "You're right." She turned back to Naruto. "Well, this was certainly not on the list of plans for the night. Anyway, I leave tomorrow, I'll be gone for a while. And now, if you don't mind, I'd like to continue my interrupted evening."
Naruto blushed. "Right, um, sorry. I'll leave in just a minute." He looked first at Kakashi, then at Yamato. "Don't ever hurt her. If you do, you'll answer to me."
Both of them swallowed at that, glancing at each other quickly and shook their heads. Kakashi paused, "you're...not mad?"
"Mad? Naw, I'm not mad. But I'm the closest thing Sakura has to a brother and I will hurt you if you hurt her."
"Don't worry about that." Yamato said, holding his hands up. "Really."
Naruto considered the two men for another minute, then seemed to remember something. "Hey, Sakura-chan, how come you didn't ask me to train you?"
She just knew it couldn't have ended there. "Naruto, have you ever done that kind of training?"
"Oh, right, no." He cleared his throat. "Well, um, I think I'll go get that ramen now. Night." And with that, he made his escape.
The three of them sat in awkward silence for a minute. "That is not how I thought this evening would go." Sakura said, quietly, staring at the pattern of the frayed fabric of her couch. Her heart was pounding, she could feel it in her throat. She tried to swallow around it, but couldn't seem to manage it.
Kakashi's hand came into view and he lifted her chin to look up at him. He leaned forward and captured her lips with his own. She felt Yamato's lips on her neck and shoulder and after a few minutes, the fears faded and all she knew was being with them. They touched her, kissed her, and reminded her how they got there in the first place.
She knew their texture, knew that Yamato would suck in a breath when she nibbled on the base of his neck, that Kakashi liked it when she traced his ear with her tongue. She knew that Yamato's favorite thing was tasting her sex and Kakashi never could quite get enough of her breasts. And she knew that, later, when they'd both entered her, they knew how to work together to bring her to orgasm over and over again until she didn't know her own name, couldn't remember a damned thing.
She could only feel their lips on her, their touch. She could only smell them, knowing the slight differences between the earthy scent that was Yamato and the misty scent that was Kakashi. She could hear them as they both whispered into her ears the words she never thought she'd hear as they emptied themselves into her. The only thing she could say was to whisper the same words to them to try to show them, just a little, how she felt, too.
When it was all over, they lay silently, unwilling to let go of it for the last few hours they had together. Kakashi got up long enough to get a blanket and a couple of pillows, then they tucked her between them and allowed themselves to sleep.
