"We won't be able to stop the arrangement.
So why are we here at all?" The blond boy
asked angrily. Every one in the room looked
at him blankly. "I don't want Hinata to have
to go through with this either, but what
can we do? We've been meeting here every
other night to talk about this."
Kiba grumbled to himself while Akumaru emitted
a low growl towards Naruto.
Ino spoke, "It might seem pointless to
gather together to talk about this time and
again. And we can never find a way to help
her. But she doesn't deserve such a thing."
She stared hard into her cup of tea
Neji looked at Ino, "Though Hinata rarely
speaks of Sasuke, I know she is still
troubled about what goes on. But it is
the Uchiha that she is going to marry, not
some run of the mill man. And he is just
as dangerous as his brother or Orochimaru.
What Ino says is true. Hinata does not
deserve such fate."
"What else can we do? Just wait around for
Sasuke to hurt her and then make sure that
it is proveable to desolve the arrangment?"
"Hm." came from Shino's throat
Kiba shifted his eyes toward the guy with the
dark shades,"You got a better idea?"
"Look" Shino spoke calmly, "The most difficult
thing is that the Fifth agreed to the match
herself"
"hmm Mmm Hmm!" Naruto agreed by nodding
"The only other thing i can think of is that
we find a better match for her. Thus convincing
her father to end the arrangement with Sasuke."
Ino said with some hope in her defeated voice
Neji grudgingly shook his head and every released
a sad sigh. It was hopeless. The only thing
the group could hope for was that Sasuke never
became evil. His ivory eyes scanned over the
faces of Hinata's friends. They didn't know
what to do anymore and only he and Ino were
the ones that wounldn't give up.
"I must be going." Neji said as he stood. "Thank
you Naruto for tea." and with that he excused himself
Ino stood and followed him down the stairs
in silence. She felt bad that everone was giving
up. She also felt bad that she couldn't leave
the situation alone.
"Thank you Ino."
The blonde girl looked up in surprise,"Huh?"
"I'm happy knowing that I am not the only one
that has given up." Neji said without even turning
to face her
Ino smiled to herself.
They reached the first floor again in silence until
Ino spoke out, "Neji-kun"
"Hm"
"Tonight you and Hinata stay with Sasuke, correct?"
The long-haired man froze, it was the subject he
had tried so hard to avoid, "yes"
"Please take care of her."
Neji turned to give Ino a small smile, "Hm."

Hinata sat in the hot bath trying her best
to relax her nerves. All that day she felt sick
to her stomach. She wasn't too sure how Sasuke
would behave. But her true worries were about
Neji. She sincerly hoped Sasuke would not say
anything to offend her cousin. She did not want
anything to happen to Neji, and she knew well that
Sasuke was capable of harming him.
Her fingers reached out and toyed with the
plumblossom petals that floated about in the bath.
She closed her eyes and released a long breath.
It was going to be a night she could survive, she
thought confidantly to herself.
She stood letting the bath water cascade down her
pale skin, several petals sticking to her. She
smiled, there were very few times she felt pretty,
but amazingly enough tonight was one of those times.
She went to her room and readied herself. Dressing
herself comfortably and brushing out her hair.
Lastly she gathered her sleeping things together
being very sure she took her long robe. Then came
a light tapping on the door. "Enter" she called
with her gentle voice.
One of the older servant women entered and bowed,
"Hinata-sama, Neji-sama awaits you."
The lavander-eyed girl took a deep breath and
went out to her cousin.

Sasuke greeted Hinata and Neji, "Hello Hinata. Neji."
He smiled kindly to Hinata, but smirked rudely to
the long-haired jounin. "I will show you were your
sleeping chambers will be so that you may put down
your things and then we will have dinner."
Hinata looked at him in surprise, he seemed to be
acting differently, but she smiled and nodded in
agreement.
Sasuke and Hinata began to speak about the beautiful
weather that morning and walked ahead of Neji. And
he watched them, not in anger, but a sense of needing
to protect Hinata.
The Uchiha showed Hinata her room first; allowing her
to be sure she had everything she needed while he
then showed Neji where he was to stay, which was the
room right next to hers.
Neji stepped inside of the nice, but plain room and
began to organize his things while Sasuke stood in
the doorway watching. When the Hyuga was done he looked
to the Uchiha who then smirked at him.
"Well Neji-san This should make for an interesting
evening."
