Chapter 7-The New Ways
“Oh, Tenten… You are so funny when you wan’t…” Sakura smiled brightly while finishing her blood test on Tenten. “What do you mean Sakura, I feel ALL the possible symptoms…” Tenten replied with a cracked face. “It was your anxiety, the fact that you missed out on your periods once and also the fact that you had unprotected sex made you believe in those things.” she explained calmly. “Then, all of this was only my body reacting to stress?” she asked. “Indeed it was, seriously, after your urine test and your blood test, there is nothing wrong with you, well, I noticed an ulcer in your stomach, but other then that, if you take medication properly, you can heal it.” Sakura answered. Tenten’s face was all red, why did she believed after all these weeks that she could have been pregnant? It was true that a stressful life like hers could have lead to all these mysterious symptoms. “Tenten, these days, having kids is not as easy as it was before. I don’t know why, but most of the female ninjas I met up to now were feeling like you. There might be something wrong with our generation, I don’t know, but lady Tsunade and I have made our research on it and still haven’t found any answers to it. On my tought, I think it is a sign that something wrong is going to happen soon, but that is just me.” Sakura whispered as if this secret should be never told. All Tenten could do was nod her head silently and agree to what Sakura was telling her. It was kinda strange after all. Even with her past stories with Neji, how come she never became pregnant because of him? She stood on her two feet and gave a hand shake to Sakura while thanking her for her patience and her treatments. If what Sakura was saying true, then what kind of bad omen could be menacing Konoha again? And why would only the female ninja be affected? It was just too weird to think about it, and too weird to understand it now. *** “Neji-ni-saaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!!” screamed a blushing Hinata. Neji hadn’t noticed that his cousin was running after them for a while. He turned around and waved at her while she blushed even more. Hinata was always shy, always blushing. “What is it dearest cousin?” he asked. Hinata stopped in front of her cousin and tried to breath two seconds before fiddleling with her fingers a bit and looking at Neji. “Uncle… I mean, my father wanted to talk to you over a cup of tea and supper tonight, and I… was… wondering if you wanted to come…” she smiled nervously. “Well, you can tell uncle Hiashi that I will be there.” he answered. Hinata blushed a bit and her face became bright and happy. It had been a while since they had some kind of family reunion at the Hyuugas. The only time they really were together was during festivals and such. Hinata bowed and waved good bye to her cousin. After their battle together, she had trained so hard to try again, but had failed because of health problems. The tournament battle had decided her faith even before she could have done something. The other ninjas tought that she might have held a grudge against her cousin for depriving her of her thirst to become a shinobi, but at their surprise, she had never been angry at him, only to herself for beeing weak that day. Neji’s head looked at the ground, he still felt a bit of guilt in what he had done several years ago, but remembered what Hinata told him that day… +Flashback+ “It’s not your fault Neji, I am the only one to blame for being so weak…” Hinata cried. She was lying down in her bed, gripping her pillow tightly as the tears fell over her blushing cheeks. The visit of his cousin for an apology was so strange coming from him as he was a heartless human to everyone’s eyes. Neji sat next to his cousin and touched her shoulder. “I ruined your shinobi life, aren’t you going to be angry after me?” he asked anxious. “No… Because I am not that kind of person, I forgive others even if what they did was wrong…” was all she replied before crying again for a good ten minutes… +Backflash+ “Hinata… you are so… baka…” Neji pouted while kicking a small pebble on the ground. *** Tenten twisted the door nob and entered the appartement. Her discovery of today was making her light, and feeling more free. She would not have to face Lee, and maybe instead of keeping a love relationship with Lee they could stick to be friends… Would Lee be able to understand why she wants it that way? Was she feeling something for Neji this time… or was it just a trial to make her doubt? Why was everything so UNCLEAR. “ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRG” scream Tenten. Lee jumped off the couch and panicked as she seen Tenten who had just come in. Neji was not home yet, but would soon be, luckily he hadn’t experience this deadly ear hurting scream. “Wha-What’s wrong Tenten?” Lee asked. “Did I do something?”she replied while pointing to her chin. “No-nothing…” Lee shivered almost dying on the couch. Neji came in a second after and took off his shoes. A silent was floating in the air and he decided to break it just for the fun of it. Maybe Lee was meditating or something cause he looked stone cold on the couch. (What a weirdo, oh well, here goes nothing) “I AM HOMEEEEEEEEEE!” screamed Neji. Lee jumped off the couch for a second time and stood up straight like a wooden bar in the middle of nowhere. He was scared shit outta him, and it was not right. “What is your problem buddy?” Neji asked. “You-you guys just scared the shit TWICE outta me…” Lee replied. “Oh, did we?” Neji stared handsomely at Tenten who all could do was blush and turn her head away. Lee noticed the scheme coming from Neji and approached Tenten. He was standing now between him and her as if to say “Backoff Neji”. Tenten walked to her room and dropped her purse on the floor in the hallway. She dropped dead on her bed and her face plopped on the sweet Lee smelling pillow. “What a nice perfum.” she tought. Pushing her face more in the pillow, she fell asleep comfortably in the scent of a nice Lee. Actually, both of the male were still standing in front of the door. “Are you going to let me in, Lee?” he asked. “S-sorry…” Lee moved. Why was Neji acting strangely like that with Tenten? And why was she all tired up from her day??? Lee was full of questions, Tenten was the same and Neji was too. Maybe the good days were about to break over…
