~*~*~*~*Chapter 6~*~*~*~*
(Rescue) He had returned to Konoha. Of course he would return, he had promised his student that he would, he had promised the boy he would be back to continue training him, to continue to help him in his quest to become Hokage. The village seemed a lot less bright, he noted as he stepped through the entrance. People walked along the streets, shopping, and working, children stuck close to their mothers and fathers, fearing to be lost within the crowd, everything seemed normal. But he could see the difference, people had that look, as if someone well known in the village had died, someone whom the villagers had respected, someone whom would always brighten everyone's gloomy days. That was when it dawned on him, he could not feel Naruto's chakra signals, he could not sense the boy anywhere near Konoha. He could not even sense a small lingering within the village of the boy. Naruto was gone, and by the looks of it, he had been gone for a long time. He felt his heart begin to crush under the pressure, his mind desperately trying to come up with some kind of excuse, maybe Naruto was just on a mission? A very long mission and would be back shortly? Maybe the boy had taken vacation time to go to Suna? He knew the boy had harboured special feelings for the Kazekage there, he knew Naruto would leave for Suna, if given the chance to stay with Gaara for any length of time. He soon found himself power walking towards the Hokage tower, his wooden sandals clicking against the stone road of Konoha, his eyes widened in terror and concern. He prayed his wild excuses were right, he prayed the boy was okay, healthy, safe. But he knew better, at the back of his mind he could hear the small voice telling him Naruto was gone, he was gone, never to be seen again. How he hated that voice, that voice that was always right! How it was right about Minato Namikaze's death, how it had been right about the fate of the small baby forced to vessel the Kyuubi, how it had been right about every bad thing that ever happened in his god damn life! His black eyes caught sight of the brown hair, pulled into a high pony tail, then those chocolate brown eyes. If anyone knew where Naruto was, it was his adoptive 'mother', so he stepped towards the academy teacher, as he got closer, he noted the broken look within those once bright brown eyes. Why was Iruka not in class teaching his students? Why was he seated outside the Hokage's office? Was he waiting for someone? Or news of someone? “Iruka-sensei...” Their eyes met, and he felt his heart finally break, that look confirmed his worst fears. Something had happened to Naruto, something terrible had happened to the teen he had spent years bonding with! He never got to keep his promise to the boy! He promised to come back, to continue to train him! To continue to help him reach his goal! “Where is he?! Where is Naruto!?” Iruka's pained wince forced tears to his eyes, he would not cry, he was a sage for god sake's! He was a man! He would not cry “I.... He... He's gone-” He felt his mental state snap, he stormed past the brunette, storming inside the building, ignoring the feminine voices that shouted at him to 'wait', or to 'hold on a second' he stepped up the stairs, his eyes narrowing towards the wooden door. The slamming of the wood against the wall forced Tsunade to awaken from her slumber, her honey brown eyes narrowed towards the teacher before she sat herself upright trying to compose herself “Why didn't you inform me!? Send me a message of some kind! I had a right to know! I should have been told Naruto was.... Was” He allowed his voice to crack in front of the woman, she was the only one who could understand his feelings, she was the only one he could really open himself up to “Would you care to explain exactly what you think happened to Naruto” He felt his body drop to the chair in front of her desk, his eyes stared towards the ground draining of life, he had lost two of his most precious students, two of his most precious people. What had he left? “He's dead” “Wrong... Idiot, Naruto is NOT dead...” His eyes turned up towards the woman, confusion and hope filling his eyes, Naruto was not dead, he was alive, he was... “He's not dead?... Where is he then!?” Tsunade allowed her breath to escape her lips, her head turning away from the man before her “You are right... I should have summoned for you the moment it happened... We need help in locating him...” “What happened?” “The details are still vague.... But we are sure Sasuke and Orochimaru have something to do with it... Naruto has been missing for two months” He felt his body tense, his fingers gripped at his knee's tightly, Naruto was missing, and most likely a prisoner of sound, that was not good, that was very, VERY bad “We need help... Jiraiya... Will you help us locate, and return Naruto to Konoha?” ---- He stared towards the compound, his eyes narrowing dangerously thin, as he began to calculate every advantage, and disadvantage to finding the fortress, on the up side, more then enough servants left the safety of the gated fortress to collect water, and food. But on the down side there was more then enough guards surrounding the place to make even twenty of Konoha's finest nin shy away, not to mention the traitorous Uchiha, and Orochimaru awaiting within the compound walls. The bad out weighed the good in this situation, he felt his body shrug in defeat, he would not give up so easily, but he couldn't just rush in like a moronic hot head, he had to plan his moves carefully, he had to plan everything out perfectly. He had to get Naruto out of there. Suddenly it was as if his prayers were answered, someone up there had been watching him, and had felt guilty for allowing this situation to occur, he watched as Orochimaru's body darted from the gates of the compound, heading into the forest across from the tree he'd perched himself in, his eyes narrowed slightly turning back towards the compound. Now he just needed a disguise to get in, and whisk the blonde to safety. Again, what ever god was looking down on him obviously had a heart for the blonde, or at least wanted nothing more then to see Jiraiya smile. He watched as the elderly servant walked from the gates closest to him, heading towards the river to collect water Jiraiya assumed. A small smirk pulled at his lips as he silently followed the man, and doing his best not to kill him, he knocked him out, bounded him, and took his clothes. His genjutsu seemed to have worked, as he entered the gates of the compound, passing the five guards posted outside without incident, and soon he found himself inside the mansion's large foyer. It was huge, and every turn confused him more then the last, he soon sound himself lost. Very lost. And he leaned himself against the wall, his eyes searching up and down the hall, staring at the beige walls, and the dark brown wooden doors. It was then he saw him, the black haired man that had betrayed his village, the little bastard that was a suspect in the abduction of Konoha's very own Naruto. He watched as the man leaned against the door, his mouth moving as he mumbled something towards the door before locking it and stepping away, his eyes followed the man as he stepped past. He felt his body stiffen slightly as Sasuke stopped mid step, and turned towards him. He hadn't done a good job trying to mimic the elder's chakra, he'd assumed no one would notice a difference such as this in such a frail old man, and a servant no less. He watched as those black eyes travelled along him, an elegant black brow rose slightly upon the younger man's head “You there, why are you wasting time leaning around!? My prisoner needs clean sheets, and food!” He felt his body relax slightly, Sasuke hadn't noticed anything, of course he wouldn't, why would the Uchiha lower himself to care about anyone but himself? He probably had no idea the elderly man even existed. He took the key from Sasuke's extended hand, watching the slight hesitance in the man's eye, it confused Jiraiya, why was Sasuke so hesitant to leave Naruto in someone else hands? Did the man know in some way the blonde would never be seen again? That Naruto was so close to escaping “And make sure no one touches him... I will be back with Orochimaru by sun down tomorrow” he watched as Sasuke turned and left him, alone in the hall, with Naruto's freedom placed in his hands, he had twenty-four hours to free Naruto, and get as far away from this place as possible. He thanked his lucky stars Sasuke was not on his 'game' today, in fact, the Uchiha seemed really out of it. He stepped towards the room, unlocking the door, he stepped inside allowing the door to shut and lock behind him, he turned his attention towards the other being in the room. He felt his heart sink as he stared towards the broken blonde laying upon the floor, his nagajuban opened slightly, revealing his tone, yet hairless chest, his eyes ran along the boys exposed legs, and thighs. Was Naruto even wearing anything underneath? He stepped closer to the blonde, never once seeing those blue eyes watch him, he assumed the blonde was asleep, or passed out. Naruto weakly crawled his body towards the futon in the corner, so Naruto was awake, and he was aware someone else was in the room. He was still too shock, and overjoyed to say anything to the boy, he began to pull his disguise off of himself, releasing his genjutsu, he stepped towards the futon, his hand reaching towards the blonde. His quick actions halted the assault from the blonde, he held the thin wrist in his hand, his free hand prying the mirror shard from the boy's grip. He saw them, those broken, lifeless orbs fill with tears, fill with terror. He could see what happened to the boy, the outfit, the room, the look, the hickeys and bruises that had now become visible told the story Jiraiya really didn't want to hear. It wasn't uncommon for nin to use their bodies to get what they wanted, male and female nin all did it at some point. But Naruto had been rapped, and no matter how strong willed one person is, once that act is forced upon you, a part of you dies. He pulled the boy close to his chest, trying to stop the hysterical screams and sobs escaping the boy's mouth “Naruto! Calm down! Please...” his hands began running through the silky golden locks of hair, soothing the boy's body, allowing the teen to relax within his hold “J-Jiraiya...” “Yea.. Its me kid... I've come to take you home... Back to Konoha” He held the shaking body within his arms, willing him to calm down further “Lets go kiddo” He pulled himself onto his feet, still holding onto the blonde's frail body. How much did Naruto weigh? The thought was terrifying! The boy was so light, and his wrists felt like nothing more then skin and bone, no fat, no muscles, was the kid starved by these cruel bastards?! “W-wait! Kakashi!” “Kakashi?” “Pakkun... S-said Kakashi was here!... They came to save me...” He worried for the boy's mental health too, was Naruto loosing his mind? Imagining things? Hearing voices in his head?. It wouldn't surprise Jiraiya, being a prisoner for so long did things to one's mind, did things to one's sanity. It was then he heard the weak scratching on the other side of the door “Yo! Kid its me!” Naruto was out of Jiraiya's arms in a flash, he knelt by the door his fingers pushing underneath trying to touch the small pug “Pakkun!” He stepped towards the door, and gracefully lifted Naruto away before unlocking and opening the door, he watched as the pug's eyes widened seeing the sage-nin standing before him, holding the smaller blond in his arm as if Naruto were nothing more then a paper weight “W-where is Kakashi?” Naruto's voice shook, all of this happening to him, him finally being free was too much, he couldn't control his legs, or his arms, much less his voice, he watched as the dog's eyes turned to a pleading look “He's dealing with that Kabuto brat, he told me to bring you to safety!” “Then lets go” Jiraiya said calmly, lowering Naruto to his feet, he watched the blonde, still holding onto his arm, as if fearing to release the boy and have him topple over. The moment the boy's arm was released, Naruto was gone, running down the hall towards the sound of fighting, and the smell of his teacher “Damn it Naruto!” He heard the sage grumble as he rushed down the halls, he had to find Kakashi, he wasn't going to leave anyone here, he wasn't going to let anyone else go through the same torture he had gone through! Everyone was going to go home together, everyone was going to return to Konoha together! He turned the corner and stared eye wide at his teacher, the silver haired copy-nin, bleeding from his right hand, crouched low to the ground, his uninjured left hand resting upon his head band, he was going to use the Sharingan, Naruto's eyes turned towards the small table beside Kabuto. And without a thought he grabbed the violet and red flower printed vase, smashing it over the enemy nin's head. His eyes starred down towards the unconscious body of Kabuto, his body shaking slightly “N-Naruto” He looked towards the copy-nin, he didn't have time to register what was happening, all he felt was the man's arms wrap around him, and his face bury into the man's chest. He was free, he was safe, and he was finally going home, back home to Konoha, he felt the tears rushing down his cheeks, he felt himself silently sob into his 'fathers' chest, he felt the man easily lift him up, holding him within his arms, and he allowed himself to finally give in, to finally sleep. He was safe, he knew neither Kakashi nor Jiraiya would allow anymore harm to come to him. He trusted them.
