Itachi:What are you screeching about?

T.W.:(grabs Itachi's face and gives him a kiss then does the same to Sai)Whoot! Go Sasuke!

Itachi:(vein pops, wipes off kiss and takes out kunai)

Sai:(stops Itachi from killing T.W.)She must have a reason so don't kill her.

T.W.:Oh you're damn right I have a reason(jumps up and down like a crazy person)Sasuke's attacking Orochimaru! He's gonna try to kill snake slime!(grins like a maniac and glomps a random person) Oh I'm soooo happy, I knew that Sasuke wouldn't really let snake boy take over his body.(melts into puddle of happiness)

Itachi and Sai:(sweatdrops)

T.W.:(resolidfies)Oh yeah! I have to reply to an anonymous reviewer. I guess I'll reply to nette again: Oh you know Sasuke's proud of it. Being as I'm a big fan of KakaIru I couldn't not have it in my first multichaptered fic.

Chapter 7 Bad Mission, Good Night

'Three hours my ass! Stupid woman.' To say that Naruto was pissed would be woefully understating the situation. What they had been told was a C-rank mission should have been classified as an A-rank mission. 'Stupid cheap-ass nobles.' Lady Shijimi had been targeted by a group of Rain ninja, who had attacked their group halfway through the mission. They had defeated the enemy shinobi quickly, but Kakashi and Sasuke had been badly injured. Sakura had healed the wounds as much as she could without the hospital's amineties, enough to allow them to continue with the mission, but the injuries had slowed them down so much that it had taken six hours to get Lady Shijimi to her sister's house. On the way back, another group of Rain ninja had ambushed them seeking revenge for their comrades. This time Team Kakashi had been ready for them and had taken the Rain ninja out without anymore injuries.

By the time they had gotten to the missions desk it was ful dark. After submitting the report and having Kakashi and Sasuke's wounds healed completely, Naruto went to one of the training fields to take his anger out on some logs.

Naruto felt a subtle chakra signature behind him and glanced over his shoulder, "What is it Shikamaru?"

The lazy chunin raised an eyebrow, "Che you're so troublesome. Sakura asked me to check and make sure you were okay."

Naruto turned to face Shikamaru. He was slouched against one of the trees as if standing on his own would take too much energy.

"I'm fine. I was just a little pissed off."

Shikamaru took in the splintered logs and Naruto's sawdust covered form, "Obviously. You know Sakura told us about how only the Ichiraku serves you unspoiled food. Why didn't you ever tell us?"

"It's always been like that. I didn't see any point in telling anyone or in making a fuss."

"You should have told us. We would have helped despite the huge pain it would have been."

Naruto grinned, "Everything's a huge pain to you Shikamaru. I know you and the others would have helped out but, well I have my pride ya know."

"And that is why you're so troublesome. By the way, what happened to the orange jumpsuit?"

Naruto chuckled, "Sasuke burned it," then he disappeared; leaving Shikamaru muttering yet another 'troublesome' as he walked towards Konoha.

After cleaning up at the onsen, Naruto entered his apartment and blocked the punch Sasuke threw at him.

"What are you doing here Sasuke? You should be resting at home."

Sasuke scowled at Naruto, "Where were you dobe?"

"I was at the training grounds."

"Hn."

Sasuke walked to one of the milk crates and sat down, staring at Naruto.

"Eh? Why are you staring at me like that?"

"Just now you blocked my punch and, now that I think about it, when we were ambushed you didn't falter even once. When and how did you get that good?"

Naruto winced, "Uh maybe it was a fluke?"

"Tell me the truth Naruto."

Naruto dropped his confused act and sat on the opposite milk crate, "Well the first year after we brought you back, when you were under house arrest, I was training with ero-sennin. During that time I sort of grew out of my clumsiness."

"Then why do you still act like a clumsy idiot?"

"Because that's what everyone has always expected from me."

"How much of your antics are an act?"

"Just the clumsiness and the more outrageous acts of stupidity. I really am pretty naive, a prankster, and hyper a lot of the time. There are times when I'm calm and serious though; usually when I'm talking to Iruka-sensei or after sparring with you."

Sasuke moved to kneel in front of Naruto, cupping the blond's face in his hands. He locked gazes with Naruto, who blinked in surprise at the gentle, tender look that shone out of the glittering onyx eyes.

"Naruto don't hide yourself anymore, not from me. I want to see the parts of you that you keep locked away. I want to share in your joy and your sorrow. I want to protect your dreams from those who would destroy them, and I want to protect you from your nightmares and fears. I need to be by your side, facing any obstacle that might try and crush us. Even when I was traped in the darkest part of my soul, all I could truly see of the future was you. Let me see all of you, please."
By the time Sasuke finished, Naruto had silent tears running down his face.

Sasuke tugged Naruto's head down, kissing him gently, then he pulled Naruto off the milk crate into his lap. He ran his tongue between Naruto's lips and the blond opened his mouth, granting Sasuke free access. Sasuke broke the kiss to nibble at Naruto's throat while he slid his hands under the blond's shirt to play with his nipples. Naruto hissed in surprise and pleasure, and slid his own hands under Sasuke's shirt, stroking the skin of the Uchiha's back. Sasuke slipped Naruto's shirt over his head before taking off his own shirt. He ran his tongue down Naruto's chest, tracing the outline of his pectoral muscles, then moving to a pert nipple and lightly flicking the tip of his tongue over it, making Naruto mewl. Sasuke teased Naruto with the light flicks until he was squirming, then the Uchiha covered the nipple with his mouth and began to suck and rake his teeth over it. He ground his hips against Naruto's, leaving the blond gasping.

"S-Sasuke."

"Hn?"

"I want to touch you."

Sasuke raised his head and leaned back, giving Naruto access to his naked torso. At first Naruto just looked at him, then he slowly, lightly ran his fingertips from Sasuke's collarbone to the waistband of his pants. Naruto gently ran his callused palms back up Sasuke's torso, savoring the texture of the pale skin. When he reached Sasuke's nipples, he traced a fingertip around each one, noticing how they hardened under his touch. Then he leaned down and ran the very tip of his tongue around the avenger's navel, before using the flat of his tongue to slowly lick his way up to one of the nipples, where he gently bit then sucked on it, causing Sasuke to release a low moan. As Naruto sucked, he ran one hand all over Sasuke's upper body, tracing scars and stroking the more sensitive areas. The other hand traced, flicked, and lightly pinched the nipple that wasn't in Naruto's mouth.

After a few moments Sasuke growled, grabbed Naruto's head, and kissed the breath out of him. When they broke apart, Naruto tucked his face into the crook of Sasuke's neck, while the Uchiha wrapped his arms around Naruto, resting his chin on top of the blond mop of hair.

"Naruto."

"Mmm?"

"When are we going to tell Sakura that I gave you that hickie?"

"Tomorrow, I guess."

"So you don't mind her knowing that we're...what exactly are we anyway?"

"We're trying a relationship, dating is the term I believe, and no I don't mind if Sakura-chan knows or anyone else either."

Sasuke was silent for a minute. 'Dating huh, I guess that's enough for now.'

"So we'll tell her tomorrow," silence greeted his statement, "Naruto?"

Sasuke looked down at Naruto to see that he'd fallen asleep. A rare smile graced the Uchiha's lips as he got up and carried Naruto to his sleeping bag. He tucked Naruto in, kissed his forehead, and got up saying, "Sleep well usuratonkachi."

Then Sasuke exited the apartment and went to his house.
