Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
A/N: Alright, ok I’ll be frank, I’m kinda pissed that I only
got two reviews last chapter. Now I
really don’t care if you flame,
constructively criticize, or just praise, but I do appreciate reviews. The more I get the faster I tend to write,
and as you can see (from three or four weeks of no updating) with only two
reviews, I have little motivation.
HOWEVER!: Reviews or no reviews, I
will finish the story.
Ok now on with the story!
Ch 6: The New Life
It was a
short two day’s journey to the kaisune village, and they passed
uneventfully. Naruto and Yokiori
occasionally exchanged some casual dialogue, but every time Naruto would end up
mad at his brother, for Yokiori would eventually call him ‘sama’ and that
angered Naruto. Sibling shouldn’t call
their own blood ‘sama’ it just wasn’t right!
Finally Naruto confronted his brother on it, but Yokiori’s answer was
simple and didn’t alleviate Naruto’s mood.
“You are the Kayhaku” was all that his brother would say.
When the
duo finally made it to the village, Naruto was shocked. The dense trees and forest provided perfect
cover for the village. As they walked
through the gate, a city larger than Kohona enveloped them. Naruto’s jaw didn’t close the whole time that
they walked until his brother caught him on it.
As the hyper red-head admired the village, he was flabbergast
at the sheer size and number of the buildings in the city. Naruto noticed that the streets were in an
exact grid, the hill that the village sat on making the village a defensive
fortress. The tilted accent also made
transportation by rooftop extremely easy, and apparently even the ‘civilian'
kaisune appreciated the ease of the elevated transport, Naruto noticed as a few
raced passed going the same direction.
However one building towered above the rest.
As Naruto
and Yokiori cleared the hill that the city sat on, a large mansion sat in the
valley below. Naruto gasped as the
largest building, that he assumed was his new house, that he had ever seen appeared
in his vision. And apparently the whole
population of the kaisune village had shown up as well as a sea of hundreds of
thousands of people stood below him.
Both in fox form and human, one by one, they bowed, and spread apart,
clearing an aisle directly to the door of the mansion. Looking to his right where Yokiori had been
standing, Naruto blushed when he noticed that his brother was bowing as
well. Looking down to his sibling
nervously, he asked, “What are they waiting for?”
Yokiori
laughed slightly, not rising from his bowed position. With a voice that held an air of experience,
he said, “Command them to rise Naruto and make your
way to the door of the mansion.” Looking
out over the mass of demons, Naruto gulped, and in a clear, loud and albeit
uncertain voice, Naruto commanded the population to rise. When all were
standing, Naruto, Yokiori by his side, started to walk down the makeshift
aisle. As the siblings walked towards
the door, a howl came from one of the foxes behind them. Naruto jumped slightly, but was relieved when
Yokiori put his hand on his back. “Relax, it’s a sign of trust.
Just keep walking”.
Naruto did
as he was told, and continued to walk down the aisle of foxes, every row he
passed started to howl, and by the time he had reached the door, every fox
before him was howling. The choir of
howls was melodic and soothing to Naruto, and without thinking, he let his
instinct take over and lent his own howl to the choir, his brother doing the
same. As the last of his howl faded
away, the deathly silence returned.
Naruto looked across the sea of faces, and with one swift hand movement,
transported himself inside of the mansion.
Puffing
from nervous adrenaline, Naruto jumped when he felt a hand on his
shoulder. Turning, Naruto relaxed when
he saw the familiar face of Yokiori.
Still catching his breath from the exhilarating experience, Naruto
asked, “What was that Yokiori?”
The demon
cocked his head, staring at Naruto quizzically.
“Yokiori isn’t here right now… who are you?” he asked. Naruto just stared at the demon in shock, he
looked exactly like Yokiori. As a saving
grace, said demon chose that moment to join the two. “Ahh Naruto-nii-san, I see that you’ve met my
twin, your other brother.”
The second
fox bowed. “Ahh, I thought you looked
familiar, you have our blood in you.
It’s nice to meet you Kayhaku-sama.
I’m Maoki.” A gasp escaped
Naruto’s mouth as a single tear rolled down his face. He had family here, he actually had
family. He was home.

Sasuke Uchiha, one of the most promising ninja that Kohona
had ever seen, was knocked from his feet one again, more of his blood staining
the brick wall. Orochimaru struck his
newest pupil over and over, his eyes matching his grin. It had been like this ever since they had arrived
at the snake’s lair. The snake would
train him, exhausting him to the point of death, before beating him even closer
to the brink. The beatings were not part
of the training, but as the snake would repeatedly shout, were revenge for
Kabuto’s death. And every time, Sasuke would
allow himself to be beat senseless, the snakes preaching of being powerless and
worthless seeping into his soul.
Sasuke knew
that his master was right. He was weak,
that’s why Itachi killed his family, that’s why he couldn’t keep Kohona safe…
That’s why Naruto didn’t come for him.
Orochimaru
grinned as he knocked his successor to the ground once more. When the young Uchiha didn’t rise, orochimaru
looked over to one of the sound nin who were guarding
the exit.
“Cuff him.” The snake ordered, leaving the cell without
looking back.
***
When Sasuke came through, he cringed as a bolt of pain
racked his body. A single tear slid down
his face. It was like this for many
days. And the beatings seemed to be getting easier… Until
that one day… when his whole world was shattered.

Maoki led Naruto
though the mansion, Naruto in awe the whole time. Gaping at the size of the mansion, Naruto was
sure that the whole of the Uchiha estates could fit in the large area two or
three times over. The halls could fit
ten people shoulder to shoulder easily, and looked to be twice as high, and the
red, orange, and gold colors making the walls seem higher.
Rounding a
corner, Naruto’s jaw dropped. The hall
that stood before him was a sudden change from the red and orange, to black and
gold, the walls adorned with many pictures of kaisune. Maoki grinned at his brother’s reaction.
“You like?” he asked.
“Very much! But what is so special about this hallway?” Naruto
said, walking through the hall, admiring the elaborate paintings.
Maoki grinned “It leads to your
room.” Naruto froze. Turning, he looked
at his brother disbelievingly.
“Mine?”
Maoki just nodded. Naruto
looked around slowly. Walking through
the hall, Naruto eventually came to a crossroads, where two other hallways met
as well, making six passages in separate directions. Naruto looked around in awe. At a touch on his arm, Naruto came back to
reality from his musings.
“Come there’s more.” His brother said, leading him down the
forward most hall.
Following his
brother down the hall, Naruto soon found himself in front of two large ornate
doors, each one adorned with a golden fox, six tails blazing behind each
one. Maoki pushed the doors open, Naruto
followed his brother inside.
For the umpteenth
time that day, Naruto was speechless, for at that moment, Naruto was standing
in the largest bedroom that he’d ever seen.
Looking around, Naruto spotted a staircase, a private bathroom, and a hot
spring was barley visible around a corner. Naruto also noticed a desk in a
separate room that was apart of the large bedroom until a door was pulled shut,
and then was transformed into a private study, the staircase in the back of the
study. On the desk Naruto noticed
several blank sheets of parchment, as well as scrolls, and an assortment of
quill pens.
Naruto followed
Maoki up the stairs on the side of the room, and was lead into one of the
largest libraries that he had ever seen.
The walls were nearly a hundred paces long, but still only half the size
of the bedroom. Naruto walked over and
was about to pick one up, but Maoki placed his hand on his brother’s shoulder. “Not now, we still have a celebration to
attend.” Leading his brother back to the
first level of the bedroom, Maoki turned to leave.
“I shall return in four hours. You shall find proper dress in the dresser
next to the bed.” And with that the fox demon left the room closing the door
behind him.
Sighing, Naruto
set his pack on the bed, and unpacking his birthday kimono, laid it on his
bed. Stripping down, Naruto slipped into
the hot spring, moaning as the hot water enveloped his body. Tonight he officially became the Kayhaku, and
most likely lost most of his free time, he would take any time he got. Soon, he would take up this birth right. Naruto sighed again. Gods life was
complicated.

Itachi Uchiha
smirked as he followed a certain red haired demon holder. “Soon… soon, all of them will be together and
then… My plan will commence.”
