Chapter 7
It was Noon, and they were already one third of the way there and were now resting for the fifth time. Every time they started to walk Gaara would pick Sakura back up Bridal style. By nighttime they will only be half way there at the rate that they are going. She was fine with as long as the boys don't go teasing her again.
"Gaara, stop Babying Sakura!"
"Bakabakashi, leave him alone. Sakura isn't strong enough to...."
"Bakayarou, he doesn't even give her a chance to walk." Gaara smirked at seeing Naruto getting upset. Gaara drew her closer to him and to his relief she didn't fuse.
"Sakura...... Sakura? Great she's already asleep." Gaara rose sand to cover her in a flexible cocoon. Gaara was leaning against a tree and had Sakura sitting on his lap. Even Shino Started to worry about Sakura.
"Gaara I think you might be draining Sakura dry."
"Nope... She does that...*stick breaking in the distant*" All of the guys went on guard but relaxed when they saw it was only the girls (Hinata, Ino, Temari, Kin, Anko and Tenten) Naruto said
"Ino what are you doing here?"
"Mission... You?" Sasuke replied
"Bringing Sakura home!" Hinata said
"You can't she better off where..."
"She was with us the whole time... and we already know." Temari shot
"Bull shit...... how?" Gaara grunted and looked down at the sleeping Sakura who nudged closer to him as Sasuke said,
"She told us... she flipped out the other day and told us. We were planning to kill him but she begged us not to..." Hinata then asked
"So s...s...she t...t...told y...you ab...about her dad selling her off?" They all gave Hinata a strange look as Neji said
"Ah.... no she seemed to have left that out..."Sasuke asked
"He didn't sell her to any one named Itachi did he?"
"Um....Yeah I think so.... Why?"
Sasuke and Naruto looked at each other really pissed.
"You guys take care of Sakura we have..." Gaara block the way with sand
"No because if you kill him you will kill her." Temari looked strangely at Gaara
"And why.... my little brother, would you care about what happens to her?" Kankaru smirk evilly say,
"Little brother has a soft spot for her... You should see it. Earlier he was cuddling up with her and everything. He even locked her on his lap and has been putting sand barriers over her." Gaara sent a sand spike towards Kankaru. "See!"
"You mean our little Panda bear has a crush?" The two started to laugh until sand cage went around them. However it soon fell apart causing them to look at Gaara, who was now sleeping himself. Temari, Kin and Anko giggled as Gaara held Sakura tighter and the other girls awed at how cute that, that looked.
Ino tapped on Sakura's head seeing how the rest of her was covered in sand and whispered
"Sakura... Sakura... Hey Sakura, how are ya feeling?" Sakura tried to sit up but found Gaara was holding her down to him
"I would feel better if I could move....... Thank you Gaara-kun?" Ino Smiled at her sleepy friend and said
"Are you sure you want to go home?"
"Yeah Gaara-kun and Kankaru-san will be with me so..."
"Yeah but what if he... Sakura remember the last time someone tried to stop him?" Sakura froze. Gaara at Sensing her sudden stillness pull her closer to him and tighten the sand around her just enough to soothe her.
Sakura slowly grew calm they looked at her in shock as she slowly drifted of into sleep.
"Gaara loosen up you smoth... huh... she feel asleep... what the fuck?"
"She found a bit of peace during the time he wrapped her up in sand... Whenever she grows tense. He uses the sand to form a protective barrier to calm her down." Sasuke swung at Sakura and at once sand flew up as though it had a mind of it's own. "See? That is why we have him to stay there."
"And why is Kankaru staying?"
" … to make sure Gaara doesn't kill the man in front of Sakura. If he touches or looks at her the wrong way we have her permission to kill him."
"Sakura is that true?" Sakura dozily looked up and said
"Is what true?"
"That you gave them permission to kill him?"
"only if his...wrong..."
"Wake up Sakura I'm asking you a serious question?" Sakura sat up straight waking Gaara's unpleasant disappointment.
"Huh? What question?"
"I already asked you!"
"Oh...ah.. yeah..." Sasuke said
"Gaara...Let her wake up she's going to walk on her own for a bit." Grumbling Gaara pulled back the Sand and allowed her to be pulled up by Sasuke. Only she fell back down onto Gaara's lap and fell bake to sleep.
"You need to stop comforting her so much."
"I haven't...well not initially... Sakura it's time to wake up or Sasuke and Naruto will tickle you again." At that Sakura shot up and went behind Ino who was just laughing at what she just saw. Sasuke and Naruto just smirked.
It had taken two days for them to finally get to the village, but they finally did it. Naruto had to carry a sleeping Sakura for over three hours because he wouldn't let Gaara carry her anymore. Now that she had gotten back most of her strength and was awake and walking next to Sasuke and Naruto with Gaara trailing not far behind her. The other guys next to him. The first place they went was to the house that the three of them (Kakashi, Naruto, Sasuke,) had bought and lived at. They had a few extra rooms set up for her in hopes that she would have moved in with them and join the team again.
