Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto, nor any of the characters from it. This story was written for my own entertainment. I did not make any money from writing this. |
A/N: Thus, we have reached the end of yet another Halloween project. Contrary to popular belief, I am not addicted to using one character for everything, but most of my commissions tend to feature the same staff. I do occasionally get questions why I use character X over Y, and the answer is simple. I've almost only written commissioned stories for the past two years xD
Just wanted to address that real quickly, so without further ado, do enjoy the story o/

Epilogue
A soft wheeze reverberated through the nearby area of a downtown company building as a set of glass sliding doors slid aside, releasing the final group of men and women from the tight confines of a corporate lifestyle. The sun, once a gleaming sphere of warmth, had begun its descent into the horizon, dampening the unnaturally scorching heatwave that had plagued the city streets. High above their heads, as some went one way and others moved down the street towards their cars, the heavens themselves spelled out the shifting seasons, alight with hues of orange and red on one side, while the vestiges of blue, cloudless skies fought back from the other side of the world.
Sauntering down along a sidewalk with a brisk pace, one of the employees of a particular company shook his head, joined by one of his colleagues in their lament. By whatever jurisdiction, their manager had made an agreement with a separate company, offering localized tech support while assigning a few of her subordinates as permanent IT managers for said company. The deal itself was great from a business standpoint alone, but it had come as suddenly as Sasuke Uchiha’s promotion into the managerial staff.
Waving his hand off when the ones he walked home with took off down another alleyway, the raven haired, onyx eyed man shook his head somberly.
In the aftermath of last year’s Halloween, the police force had been assaulted by proclamations of incompetence by the various media channels throughout the district, followed by a dwindling interest when more and more of their cases seemingly ceased to exist. A heavy fog had engulfed the streets the year before, bringing with it apparitions and paranormal sightings, while a handful of people went missing. Granted, after a few weeks or so, when those people showed up to work, the cases were dropped and the media retracted their complaints.
That year, the chief of police had been strict about which members of their task force were allowed to go out, keeping a watchful eye on the city as a whole, ever vigilant, ever prepared to strike at a moment’s notice…
… only for nothing to happen. It was as if the year before had been the event of a millennia, leaving every subsequent event to its normalcy. Through Sasuke’s own connection to the police chief, he had learned that the only true complaints that reached their ears were in relation to excessive noise and public indecency.
Veering off down along the main street, Sasuke rolled his shoulders until a handful of cracks echoed forth, heaving out a sigh as his furrowed eyebrows at long last relaxed. While his partnership with Tsunade had evolved, her modesty in regards to workload had devolved. From the Legendary Sucker of the gambling and oral world to the ballbuster of their company, the Senju heiress was said to be searching for a way back into her original profession; a nugget of information provided by a certain pink haired friend of his while the woman in question bounced upon his lap.
Heavy, sullen steps carried his body up along the flight of stairs that would eventually connect to his apartment door; an automatic journey from his workplace back home, one that could be done without thought. The metallic clang of his feet atop the steps revitalized what little remained of his burnt out spirit, and when at long last he stood before it, the vague recollection of a book he had bought came to mind. A monster hunting novel, featuring humanoid entities beyond human comprehension, set in a time long since forgotten. After far too many restless evenings, he had finally drawn close to its actual ending, the journey beyond the world of light.
Retracting a key from the left pocket of his jeans, Sasuke slid the key into its rightful hole, unlocking the reinforced door to his humble abode while gently easing the door aside, fully prepared to shower, eat and then relax.
“Welcome home, love~” Of course, after a woman materialized herself into a human form and proclaimed herself to be his girlfriend and roommate, things never did go according to plan.
Staring straight ahead, unblinking, Sasuke’s mind short circuited where he stood, unable to so much as think. Hinata Hyuga, the woman that had clawed her way out from his TV a year beforehand, leapt up onto her feet with a bright, bubbly look upon her face; her jiggling breasts presenting themselves before her lover. What took his breath away the most however, was the fact that, the moment Hinata’s cheerful voice rang forth, a dozen sets of pale, moonlit eyes zeroed in upon his form, all of which were as naked as the woman bouncing up and down on her feet before his ebony eyes.
One stood by his fridge, rummaging around it alongside another that directed her towards what looked to be whiskey. Three were within his bedroom, one upon the bed while the other two perused their way through his clothing drawers, lifting up a handful of short sleeved shirts to hold up for one another to try. Without so much as peering around the edge that was his doorframe, the former bachelor could practically see another set of naked breasts, as pale as a sheet and perfectly rounded, defying gravity in ways beyond human comprehension. Yet, what boggled his mind the most was undoubtedly the sight of his TV; a white snowstorm of static noise, accompanied by a pale, petite woman dolphin diving through the screen to crash down upon the carpeted floor within.
With his ever unblinking expression, and with his girlfriend’s family making their presence known within the tight confines of his apartment, Sasuke Uchiha slowly stepped back, closing the door gently while once again inserting his key to lock it tightly. His phone, in his hand faster than the eye could see, dialed up the number of his older brother, aiming to crash there for however long it would take before the armada of naked spirits within his humble abode sought him out.
