"Ah Kai, right on time." Tsunade said. "This is Shikamaru Nara. He's one of our top strategic minds. I informed him of your skillset. You see we have a problem." She continued.
"There is a group of shinobi after the nine Bijuu. So far we have identified four of the members of this group. Itachi Uchiha, Kisame Hoshigaki, Sasori of the red sand, and Dedara the mad bomber." Shikamaru explained.
"We have encountered them a few times. The last confrontation was yesterday, when the Kazekage was abducted by the akatsuki in order to extract his demon." He continued.
"So why am I here?" Kai asked.
"Your jutsu Continuation and Corruption could be used to either kill or capture these terrorists." Tsunade informed. Kai rubbed his chin.
"It could work. No one has escaped my jutsu as of yet. Are any of the four proficient at Genjutsu?" Kai asked.
"Itachi has the sharingan, giving him a large advantage over genjutsy." Shikamaru informed. Kai nodded.
"I've never tested my jutsu on someone who has great skill with Genjutsu." Kai explained. Tsunade rubbed her temples.
"Very well. Kai, report to Kurenai Yuhi, she is the Genjutsu mistress of Konoha. If anyone could break out of the jutsu, it would be her." Tsunade dictated. "Shikamaru, send a messenger hawk to Kurenai informing her of the situation." Shikamaru nodded before leaving the room. "Your dismissed."
Once they were gone, Tsunade sighed and thought about wanting to pass along the job to someone else. "If I had a kid, then it would be easier to pass on the job." She thought aloud. "But who could I get to be the father?"
"Are you Kai?" A red haired beauty asked. Why are the all women in Konoha super hot? Kai thought.
"Indeed. It's nice to meet someone else who appreciates the art of illusions." Kai said with a smile. Kurenai returned the smile.
"Not many appreciate the art. So you need to test your illusions on someone who I skilled in Genjutsu. Correct?" She asked.
"Uh, yes. The Hokage has informed me of the threat of Akatsuki, and decided that my jutsu may be strong enough to incapacitate them long enough to either kill or capture them. The only problem as of right now is Itachi Uchiha." Kai summarized. Kurenai nodded.
"May I ask what your jutsu do?" She asked.
"I have two that could potentially be used. Corrupt, or corruption. And continuation. Corrupt stops the targets train of everything, attacks, thought, even their sense of time is muddled. Continuation puts them in an illusion of whatever the current situation is, so if I were to be fighting an opponent, he would see us continuting the fight, while the real me goes in for the kill." Kai explained.
"Those are quite impressive Kai. Your a special Jonin, correct?" Kurenai asked.
"Yeah. I specialize in Genjutsu." He explained. Kurenai nodded.
"Shall we start the tests?" She asked. Kai nodded before going through handsigns and placing her under continuation. Instead of releasing it, he waited to see if she would. After about seven minutes, she blinked a few times. "How long was that?" She asked.
"About seven minutes. You are the first person to have escaped that jutsu." He explained. Kurenai nodded.
"Itachi was able to trap me in a genjutsu when I had him in a genjutsu." Kurenai explained. "But in the heat of battle, he would take a longer time to realize he was trapped. I would say maybe two minutes."
"That would be enough time to kill him." Kai said.
"If your lucky. But Akatsuki travel in pairs. His partner would have to be kept busy." Kurenai explained. Kai nodded. "Lets test your other one." Kurenai said.
"Corrupt." Kai said, placing the Genjutsu mistress under. "Kurenai, you will want to train with me more, as I am one of the only genjutsu users around." He said. Then he waited. And waited. And waited until half an hour passed. "Release." He said freeing the beautiful woman.
"What happened?" She asked.
"What do you mean?" Kai asked.
"Why did you pull me out?" Kurenai asked. Kai looked at her strangely. Then he remembered Tsunade's reaction about time.
"Kurenai, how long do you think you were under?" Kai asked.
"It's only been about thirty seconds." Kurenai said in complete seriousness.
"Interesting." Kai said to himself.
"What?" Kurenai asked.
"One minute out here is essentially one second in the jutsu." Kai said alarming Kurenai.
"I was under for a half hour?!" She yelled.
"It's a good Jutsu." Kai shrugged.
"Kai, you have a quite the skill for Genjutsu. We should train together more. But for now, go tell our results to Lady Tsunade." Kurenai said before jumping off.
"So you can trap a person in your jutsu for potentely hours, and to them only only few minutes would pass?" Tsunade exclaimed.
"According to our findings, yes. But as we don't have a sharingan on hand, we can only speculate what someone with one would be able to do. For continuation, Kurenai escaped in roughly seven minutes. We speculated only a few minutes could keep Itachi. As for Corrupt, here's no telling how long, as Kurenai didn't escape, I release her after half an hour." Kai explained.
"These are fantastic results. Next time Akatsuki appears you are going on duty to try and capture them." Tsunade said. Kai nodded before exiting the office. "Kai might do well as a father." Tsunade thought.
