Chapter 6: Fire Shadow
'It’s been a while…’ Sasuke thought as he looked at his former village. It was still mostly in ruins, but he could see that the reconstructions taking placing. So far the only thing that had been rebuilt were the Hokage tower, a few important clan compounds like the Hyuuga’s and a few other houses. He had some doubts about what to do with Konoha initially. Part of him wanted to destroy in return for all the pain they had caused the great Uchiha clan. In the end he settled with a compromise, he would reshape Konoha into the village he wanted with the Uchiha clan as the highest power. Itachi wanted peace, so having control of most of the women, especially the high ranking women in other villages was a great way to ensure that. He would be fulfilling Itachi’s dream of peace, as well as his own to dream to restore the Uchiha clan at the same time.
As he approached the gates, the (permanent) gate guards Izumo and Kotetsu noticed team Taka, as well as Konan and Temari, they alerted the ANBU which appeared before Sasuke just as they entered the gates.
"Sasuke Uchiha, what are you doing in Konoha?" Asked the leader of squad, who wasn’t sure whether to talk first or just take him down.

The ANBU was taken aback by the Uchiha’s claim. In the end he nodded and motioned to the rest of his squad to lead the way to the Hokage tower. He silently wondered how Tsunade would react, it had been two weeks since she woke from her coma, and Danzo, who was supposed to be the sixth Hokage, disappeared suddenly when he was on the way to the Fire daimyo’s capital. Thankfully, the ANBU were eternally loyal to Tsunade, so they weren’t too upset about that.

As expected, Tsunade then turned to the ANBU, "Leave us, I will handle this privately."

Tsunade paused to think of an argument, what he said was true he hadn’t done any crimes against the village itself, in fact he had gotten rid of three big threats, Orochimaru and Itachi, as well as the true leader of Akatsuki, according to Sasuke.
"You have a point, but I will still demand something in return for all the trouble you’ve caused.” She said stubbornly. In truth she could see the benefits of his return, most of the civilians will be ecstatic the great Uchiha returning, regardless of his status as a missing nin.
