Author's notes: This chapter is a bit shorter then the previous one, but it felt completed and seemed like a good place to end it. I hope none of the readers are to upset. I promise to try to make the next chapter longer. Thank you everyone that left a review, favorited the story, or favorited me. It feels good to know people will still give my stories a chance even though it has been so long since I posted anything.^_^

Passing Notes 6
-----------------------
Iruka sat alone in the teachers lounge, eating his lunch and slowly grading a stack of papers lying in front of him. There was a nice fall breeze coming in an opened window and it helped him to relax some. It had been a very difficult morning and he was ready to go home even though he still had four more hours of work. He had arrived thirty minutes late to the academy and knowing that it was nearly impossible the trouble makers in his class had tried to prank him at the very start of class. It hadn't worked of course, and they had all got detention for several days. Then during a lesson on making simple poisons and adding it to a weapon, a brazen boy had poisoned himself as he tried to show off to two giggling girls, twins from the akamichi clan. Iruka had to carry the unconscious, foaming at the mouth boy to the academy nurse for treatment.
After getting assurance the boy would be fine, he had returned to his class to find it in shambles. The trouble makers had been at it again, and several of his more quiet students had been dyed purple. Having had enough, Iruka sent the trouble makers home with notes for parent teacher conferences. They were not to return to the academy until after the meetings took place. The dyed students were sent home as well to get cleaned up and they could return the following day. The rest of the students were dismissed for lunch and were not to return for an hour. Iruka had been happy to find the teacher's lounge empty and was happily enjoying the very peaceful quiet.
The chunin stood up and walked over to the water fountain where he refilled a large orange cup Naruto had given him. When he returned to his seat, there lying on top the stack of papers was a neatly folded note. It was a day earlier then what was expected, but he wasn't going to complain. He was very happy to be receiving another note before the three day wait was over. He opened the paper quickly and read the single line of neat calligraphy.
Saying goodbye is the hardest part of this job.
Iruka felt his heart stop in his chest, as did his breathing. It didn't take a genius to figure out this note. His secret admirer was going away on a mission, one that the person might not come back from. Also with all such missions there was no time frame, meaning that he didn't know when or even if he would ever receive another note again. Iruka crossed his arms on the table and laid his head on them as he stared out the nearby open window. He felt his eyes slowly fill with tears, emotionally hurting for the person behind the notes. He hadn't realized he had grown so attached to someone that he had never met until that very moment. He sent up a small prayer to the gods that his secret admirer would make it back to Konaha safely.
Though he was currently hurting from the note, Iruka was still glad he had received it. He would rather know of the dangerous mission his secret admirer was on, then to never get another note and always wonder what had happened. Despite the sad little sentence, there was still a clue held within and Iruka easily picked up on it. His secret admirer was a shinobi that had the high skills needed for such a dangerous mission, most likely a tokubetsu jonin rank or higher. With that knowledge, Iruka wiped all chunin off his mental list of possible people. There was still many people his secret admirer could be, but the numbers were very slowly getting whittled down.
With a very heavy sigh, Iruka sat up and tucked the note into his weapons pouch. It was no use to just sit and worry about something he couldn't control. Besides he had a class to teach and he didn't want to be upset in front of them. Later when he returned home, he would put the note on his dresser with all the others and hope that someday soon he would receive another little piece of white paper. Until then he would live on and cherish the six notes that had been given to him, hoping that somehow his secret admirer would live on as well.
