Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
A/N: The Aeon Flux thing mentioned in this chapter really happens at this venue. It’s hilarious to me. This chapter contains mild violence, but not until the very end. In my opinion it is very very mild violence. The kind of thing you might see in a PG movie…
Review Responses:
Dragon: Yay more love. I love love. Love makes me want to love. (K. Just a little out of it today, apologies).
Charmpit: I agree IC Sasuke I would probably have had to kill off somewhere in the story. I haven’t yet… but who knows. I mean, some bad mojo is in Sasuke’s future.
CHAPPY 6
Naruto laughed and sighed. He glanced at the pool clock and stretched. “We need to head over to 1st Avenue. You want to come? I mean, you drove all the way down here.”
Obito smiled and nodded. “Can I come, too? I’ve never actually been to a punk show.” He smirked at me as I cocked on eyebrow. I knew he’d been to plenty of punk shows. He’d even gone with me to a few at 1st Avenue before.
We went to the show with the band on their bus. I smirked as I saw the line forming outside the club all ready. There were a lot of fan girls circling the bus as it stopped. Ten-Ten stepped off the bus first and smirked at a pretty dark haired girl. The crowd didn’t really go wild until Naruto stepped off the bus. He was instantly surrounded by pretty girls and I felt an intense stab of jealousy. I’m not sure what made me do it, but I stepped off the bus radiating cockiness and sex appeal. “Hey sexy,” I said loudly enough for the girls to hear before I fisted the front of his shirt and pulled his lips tightly to mine. Naruto’s arms snaked around my neck and waist as quickly as he realized I was kissing him.
There was a squeal of disappointment from some of the fans and a sick sense of interest from the yaoi fan girls. Naruto pulled away from me and turned a sappy smile at his fans, “Sorry girls, I’m taken.” A girl pushed her way through the crowd and smacked my ass. I was about to give her the family glare, but Naruto had all ready turned toward her. “Mine, bitch.” I thought he was going to hit her, but instead he grabbed my hand and dragged me through the black painted corridors of backstage.
I kissed Naruto’s cheek and whispered in his ear, “I think Obito and I are going to hit the bar. I want to watch you from the front anyway.” Naruto nodded and put two all access passes around my neck. I kissed him passionately, wanting more desperately, but knowing it wasn’t possible just yet. People would be allowed inside shortly and the place would be packed. The other band playing, that I knew of, was The Matches. I’d listened to their music when their first album came out, but had no desire to listen after hearing Decomposer. I didn’t even give A Band in Hope a chance. Still, it would be fun to see them again.
I grabbed Obito’s hand and led him to the stairs that would allow us access to the bar on the upper level. The normal security guard wasn’t in place yet. We made it to the bar and I smiled at the guy working. My sex appeal could work on both sexes. “Can I get a red headed slut and a mojito?”
The guy eyed me suspiciously, but then saw the pass around my neck. “ID?” I pulled out my license and he smiled. “Which band are you with?” He turned around to start mixing our drinks.
I smiled. “Any Time the Fly.” I couldn’t help the smirk in my voice. “You like working as a bartender here?”
He was facing me again, mixing my drink. “Yeah.” He handed me Obito’s drink. “It’s a really good job. I get to meet a bunch of famous people, see free shows, and meet good looking guys.” He was leering at me, but I was reveling in it. I was a bit of a sadist who enjoyed seeing people lust after things they had no chance of obtaining. I gave him my best fake flirty smile. “Here ya go.” I pulled out my wallet and he waved his hand. “House rules, all access means no pay.”
I smiled again. “Thanks for the drinks then. I’ll give you your tip later tonight. My uncle and I might get stinking drunk if the drinks are free.” He smirked as I walked to the table that Obito was sitting at and slid him his drink.
I tilted mine back in one go, letting the drink slide down my throat. “Oh damn that’s good. I really needed that one.” I sighed and put my face in my hands. I looked up to see my uncle watching me with a degree of concern. I sighed again, “This is going to get messy, isn’t it?”
Obito nodded. “Let’s not worry about it tonight though. You, Itachi, and I will always be in touch after you return and I’ll have some of my people tracking your band while they tour. We won’t let your father have his way.”
I smiled as I heard the sounds of the door opening. There was music playing from the speakers, some metal that I didn’t know, while the screen was lowered to play Aeon Flux, the cartoon version. I laughed at a show that was crazy enough with the words, but absolutely insane with no sound. I had fun trying to create dialogue to the show with Obito. The bartender brought us new drinks, without my asking, and joined in for a few moments. I laughed, but smiled as the show was turned off and the screen began to rise.
A band I’d never heard of before started playing. I watched in fascination. There weren’t many African-Americans into punk music, but I was watching one now. The band was called Whole Wheat Bread. I smiled, tapping my foot. This was music I really enjoyed. Obito seemed to enjoy it as well. They only played about 40 minutes before their set was done. The show started at 6 now that Minneapolis had a curfew to enforce. I remembered coming to shows before the curfew was enacted, and they lasted longer and started later, but I didn’t complain.
Obito got us both Long Island Teas and we started dancing against the railing next to our table. I don’t know if it was the icy look I sent the first person who tried to sit at our table while we were standing or the way Obito tried seducing the second, but no one even attempted to take the table after that. I felt familiar hands wrap around my waist and I ground back into the familiar hips, twisting my head so that I could kiss those delectable lips. My tongue danced with Naruto’s. As the song ended, Naruto pulled me back to the table. “Sas, how drunk are you?” he laughed at the smell of alcohol on my breath and the slight slur to my speech.
“Fine, jus’ fine.” I smiled. “You get free drins with this thins, didja know?” I pressed up against his chest, pulling his shirt up and smirking as I traced the tattoo I had given him. “Looks good, baby.”
Naruto laughed and motioned the bartender. “Coffee or water for a while, k?” The bartender nodded. “I just came up to get water for the band. I’ll see you afterwards.” He kissed me again and headed toward the bar to grab the water. I saw a few looks of people wondering if he was actually Uzumaki Naruto and laughed. I waved as he headed back down the stairs.
I took the water the bartender brought over and smiled. “He’s terrific, huh?” I smirked and nodded toward the direction Naruto had taken.
The bartender smiled, “Are you dating?” He knew the answer. He just wanted me to tell him. I knew how this worked. I nodded subtly and put my finger to my lips. He made a zipper motion across his lips with his own fingers. “Mum’s the word.”
I smirked as The Matches took the stage. They played my favorite song and I had to think Naruto had said something to them. I’d never heard them play Eryn Smith in concert before. I sang along with them to that song belting out my favorite line, “With a ‘zine in between her bohemian jeans half sober. She’s a dog in heat and proud of that cliché ok-ok-ok-ok. She’s a can of mixed nuts with a damn nice butt. It’s over.” Obito gave me a strange look but turned his attention back to the stage. I know he was questioning whether or not I was still drunk at that point, and I probably was.
By the time Naruto took the stage I was pretty much sober. I wanted to dance with Naruto, but I was thrilled by getting a chance to watch a live performance. I wanted to cry as he sang ‘Drug Lord Property’. Now I knew the reason behind it. I watched the pain in his eyes as he performed.
I smirked at Obito. “They’re ready for the encore. I want to go down to the front of the stage for it.” Obito nodded and we made our way down to the dance floor. The floor was packed, but I pushed or glared my through until I was standing at the front of the stage. When Naruto came back on, he saw me and smirked.
Naruto licked the mic sensually. “Anyone want to hear a new song?” He raised his hands into the air trying to get the crowd to scream. “You’ll have to do better than that!” He yelled. The crowd went insane. “Okay, this one is for my boyfriend.” I’d never heard the song that he sang. He must have written it sometime in the last two days. I was impressed. It made me feel special.
When that song was done, I made my way to the side of the stage where I could get backstage after getting past security. “Hey,” I said to the security guard, holding up my pass. He waved me through. I climbed up to the side of the stage and sat down to watch, mostly invisible to the crowd. Obito joined me. When Naruto came off the stage, I smirked and tackled him to the ground. The house lights were up, but I didn’t care. I ground down into him hard. “Great show, baby.”
Naruto laughed. “Do you think we could take this off the edge of the stage?” He pushed me up and stood back up, offering a hand to help me. I smiled, taking his hand. He wrapped his arms around my shoulders and kissed my temple. “So, enjoyed yourself?”
I nodded. “Yeah, I wish I didn’t have to go back though.” I sighed. “I know it’s only Sunday, and I did tell my professors I probably wouldn’t be there this week, but I feel like I have to go back. I need to show my father that I’m not afraid of him.”
Naruto frowned, but only for a second. His eyes lit up. “Well we’re staying here tonight and then heading on. If your teachers all ready know that you’re not going to be there, then stay tonight and take off in the morning. That way you won’t be driving late at night and I can hold you for a few minutes longer.”
I smiled. “I guess you twisted my arm enough to talk me into that. Plus, though I’m mostly sober, I’ve still been drinking quite a bit tonight.” I glanced at the bar. “Shit, I’ll be back in a second. I forgot to tip that bartender.” I jogged across the club and up toward the bar. The bouncer that was there either remembered me or saw the pass and didn’t make a commotion. I don’t really care which.
I got to the top of the stairs and saw the guy getting orders for people who were old enough to stick around with no worry about curfew. I smiled and said, “I almost forgot your tip.”
He shrugged his shoulders. “Wouldn’t be the first time, but I’m glad that you came back. I like getting tipped.”
I nodded and took a $50 out of my wallet. “Here and no fussing. It’s nothing compared to what I would have been tipping if I were back home. I just don’t want to tap out my cash here. So take it.” The bartender took the offered bill and stared at it like maybe it was a fake.
He looked up at me and smiled. “You’re a trust fund baby aren’t you?”
I nodded. “I haven’t been using it lately though. I’m just finishing art school. Have a good evening; I’ve got a horny boyfriend to get back to.”
I smirked and headed back down the stairs. I heard a random ‘fucking fag’ from somewhere behind me, but tonight I decided not to pay it attention. I had a beautiful blond waiting for me, and I wasn’t going to let myself get drawn into a fight. I sighed and went back stage where Naruto was waiting for me. I smiled when I saw the way his blue eyes lit up for me. “Hey, Naru, Obito, ready to get out of here?”
Naruto nodded. “Is your uncle going to crash in the other bed in my room?”
I blushed a little. “Well that depends. Obito you don’t mind if I make Naruto scream my name while you’re in there do you?”
Naruto gasped, “Sasuke that’s not. I mean I didn’t. That’s disturbing.” He sighed. “I guess we’ll just have to behave tonight.”
I smiled. I really didn’t care about the sex. Did I like it? Yah, of course. I could live without it though. I would much rather have Naruto in my arms and know that he was safe than just get a quick lay out of the deal.
Obito shook his head. “Doesn’t matter guys. I’ll be going back to my house once we get back to the motel. I have some things to take care of tonight yet.”
I smiled and grabbed both of their wrists, dragging them toward the bus. Obito and I boarded the bus while we let Naruto talk to some of his fans that were waiting outside. He took pictures and signed autographs. Finally I wanted to get back to the motel. I pulled my window down and hung out of the bus. “Baby, come on. Time to go home.” I smirked and glared at the few girls who were feeling brave enough to touch my Naruto. They immediately regretted it.
Naruto sighed and shook his head. “You heard my man. He’s cranky since he hasn’t gotten the chance to get some lovin’ in the last day. It’s hard being a horny guy, you know.” He waved goodbye as he climbed into the bus.
I pushed the window closed and sat back down looking innocent. Naruto gave me a glare. I could tell it was fake. “What?” I asked as if I hadn’t just pulled him away from his fans. “It’s not like they didn’t know you were gay.”
He smiled at me. “Yeah, but I think they were shocked to see such an attractive little punk with me. Either that or they couldn’t believe you’d actually hang out of a window to get my attention.”
The bus pulled into the parking lot of the motel and the band went inside right away. I stood in the parking lot by Obito’s car. He sighed. “Be careful, Sas,” he gave me a hug. “Madara is bad news. He doesn’t care about anyone other than himself. I meant it when I said don’t be alone. I know Itachi’s moving in this weekend, but make sure at least one of your friends is over every night. It’s best if they don’t really know the reason though.”
I pulled away. “I know, Uncle. Will I see you tomorrow before I leave?”
Obito shook his head. He handed me two color portraits. “Give these to the band. These are the people I’ll have tailing them. It’s just a little built in safety. I have to take care of the things that matter to the people who matter to me.”
I smiled and shook my head. “Thanks again, Obito.” I hugged him before heading inside to the room I was sharing with Naruto.
I handed him the two portraits. “My uncle is going to have these two following the band. Their names are Kisame and Anko; at least that’s what the pictures say. They’re supposed to keep you four safe. Obito wanted me to remind you not to be alone.”
Naruto smirked and pulled his shirt off. “Well that won’t be a problem tonight, huh?” He grabbed my arm and pulled me close to his body. I gasped when I felt the bulge in his pants poking against my thigh. I hungrily moved my lips against his neck. I gently nipped and sucked at the skin that was exposed as Naruto moved his head to the side. The moans he let go of were delicious. I knew several of them were coming from me as well.
Naruto moaned and rubbed his body against mine. “You’re far too clothed.” He pulled my tank top over my head. “Mm, that’s better,” he growled while tossing it across the room. “Something’s still missing though.” He sighed and stood back, pretending to contemplate what the problem was. “Ah,” he exclaimed and glared angrily at my jeans. “Those don’t seem to go with your wardrobe.”
I suppressed the laughter inside that would have ruined the mood. “Well then fix it,” I commanded. Naruto wasted no time in striping me of my jeans and boxers. I stood there in front of him in all my glory, “Come here, baby.” I indicated with my index finger to come to me.
Naruto smirked and pressed himself even closer to my body. I unbuttoned his pants and slid them down, along with his boxers. I growled as his erection pressed up against mine. I tangled my hand in his hair and pressed my lips hungrily to his. “Mm, Naruto, please,” I moaned against his lips.
Naruto smiled against my lips. “You take me this time. I like it both ways.” I groaned as I made my way back to the bed, pushing Naruto along in front of me. When his knees hit the bed, I pushed just a bit harder to force his body down. “Mm, Sasuke,” he moaned out as I slid my hand from his neck to his knee, ghosting my fingers over his skin.
I was just getting my second finger inside Naruto’s blessed heat when there was a knock on the door. I growled, intent on ignoring it, but whoever was there was insistent. I sighed and dropped my head to the mattress. “I’ll go check it.”
I was irritated that I had to leave a gorgeous man offering himself up to me so willingly. I sighed softly and peeked through the peephole only to turn around instantly, fear scrawled across my face. I motioned Naruto to shut up and get in the bathroom. I closed the door quietly behind us and hopped in the shower. When I turned the water off I kissed Naruto hard. I pulled him close and whispered in his ear. “It’s him. The guy my father promised me to. No matter what you hear do not come out of this room.” I pulled back and gave him a look that said ‘test me and find out what happens’. “Don’t move; don’t breathe; don’t do anything. Just sit in here and stay safe.”
I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around my waist. I shut the door behind me as I went out to the main room. “Yeah, yeah. Keep your shorts on, I’m coming.” I hollered. I wasn’t scared for myself. I could take care of the situation, but I was nervous he would hurt Naruto. The door burst open at the sound of my voice and the red head stood there smirking.
He looked me up and down again. “Looking good, Sasuke.” I was getting irritated again. I sighed and narrowed my eyes. He laughed. “Mmm, I can’t wait to find out how you taste. I wonder if you’ll taste as cold as you look.”
I scoffed and straightened up. “What the fuck do you want? I suggest you get moving quickly. I’ve got some bodyguards coming.”
He moved closer to me. “Your empty threats don’t scare me, Sasuke.” He moved his hand to touch my cheek, but I slapped it away. “A fighter. It’ll just make it all the sweeter when I finally get my way with you.” He grabbed my arm and pulled me close. I could feel his breath on me, but I wasn’t scared. I was looking for the right opportunity.
I was shocked when the fist landed against my face, but it gave me an opportunity to fight without thinking about the consequences. I smirked and kicked his legs out from underneath him. I was surprised how strong he was when he got me down as well. “Fuck you, you son of a bitch,” I spat at him. He’d managed to pin my arms down, but I back-flipped and got myself free. I punched him twice, his nose and eye bleeding badly.
He glanced down the hall and suddenly straightened up. “I’ll get you yet, Sasuke. If I’ve got to force myself upon you it’s just better for me. I don’t care if you ever want me. I’m going to take what I want as often as I want.” He spit out some blood before he laughed. “It’ll be even more fun tearing down everyone around you.” He ran out the door and I looked where he had been looking. They weren’t Naruto’s guards, but they were burly enough to look like guards.
I sighed and closed the door. I slumped against it as Naruto came out. “Shit, Sasuke, are you all right?” He kneeled down beside me and tenderly touched the area I could feel a bruise forming. I flinched just a bit. “Oh God, Sasuke, what happened?”
I shook my head and pulled him closer. I felt myself relaxing as he slipped his arms around me. I closed my eyes and my head started spinning. “Shit, my head’s killing me.” I sighed. “Help me back to the bathroom?” I asked as un-pathetically as I could manage.
Naruto nodded. He stood up and slid his arm under mine and around my back. “Let’s get you cleaned up, and then I want you to tell me what just happened.”
I nodded and winced as I stood. I must have hurt my back some when he pulled me to the ground. I sighed when I saw my reflection in the mirror. He’d gotten my cheek and I had a really bad black eye forming. It was swelling, which explained why my vision was starting to get worse.
Naruto went out to the room and grabbed the ice bucket. He dumped it into one of the hand towels and pressed it softly to my skin. I winced anyway, though if anyone asked me, I was strong. “I’m sorry about this, Naruto. I hate my family so much.”
Naruto helped me slide into some pj pants and he slid into some of his own. He helped me onto the bed. “Take the ice off after 8 more minutes. I’ll be back in a second. I’m going to get some ibuprofen from Kiba.” I grabbed Naruto’s hand. I didn’t want him to go and I didn’t want to be alone. “All right, Sasuke. All right,” Naruto whispered as he sat on the edge of the bed. He picked up the phone and dialed Kiba’s room. “Kiba, Ten-Ten, and Hinata need to come too. You guys can’t be alone. I need you to bring over some ibuprofen for Sasuke.”
Naruto had just taken the pack of ice from me when my phone rang. Kiba found it and looked at the caller ID. “It’s Obito. You want me to answer?” I nodded. Kiba flipped the phone, “It’s Kiba, Sasuke’s kind of incapacitated at the moment. What’s up?”
I watched as Kiba frowned before putting the phone on speaker. I heard Obito’s worried voice. “What happened, Sasuke?”
I sighed. “It was Pein. He punched me and messed up my back a little. I’m fine other than a few aches and pains. He must have had me trailed though.”
There was a pause I recognized as Obito’s anger and his attempt to get it under control. “Kisame is on his way over now.” I heard the sound of a kiss and a quiet ‘watch yourself’.
I laughed. “Uncle, are you sending me your boyfriend as a bodyguard?” I saw Naruto’s eyes widen when Obito mumbled something that sounded like a maybe.
Obito sighed. “Sasuke, get a good night’s sleep. You’ll be safe enough for the night. Tomorrow I’ll take you home personally. Good bye, Sas. You guys in the band, just be sure you verify that it’s Kisame before you open the door. Compare him with the picture then ask for the code word. It’s also written on the picture.”
The line went dead as Obito hung up. I apologized to the band again. “Look, guys, I think it’s best if we all crash in here together,” I sighed. “I don’t want you to be hurt because of me.”
Kiba smirked before laughing. “Trust me, if getting hurt were what we worried about, Naruto would never have been brought into the band. We worry about people we like and take care of them when they need us.” He smiled and grabbed Ten-Ten’s hand. “Let’s get some more ice. I think Sasuke’s going to need it.”
I smiled and closed my eyes, trying to shut out the pounding in my head. I felt a cool hand combing through my hair and leaned up into the touch. “Thank you for taking care of me. I feel like such a fucking baby.”
Naruto snorted. “So what? You kept me safe at the cost of your own health. The least I can do is take care of you. Next time I’m not listening to you though.”
I smiled and felt myself starting to drift off as the ibuprofen took effect. My head wasn’t pounding the same way anymore. I opened my eyes and sat up just a bit as Ten-Ten and Kiba came back. Naruto made another ice pack to press against my eye. He kissed my temple and stroked my hair.
When I woke, Naruto was sleeping against my head. I smiled. My head didn’t hurt anymore, but I knew I was going to have a hell of a shiner when I finally made it to the bathroom. I shifted a little and saw movement out of the corner of my eye. “Who’s there?” I asked quietly.
I saw a man with light blue skin and dark hair move from the corner. He smiled at me, “I’m Obito’s friend, Kisame. Anko is waiting to bring Obito here shortly. How are you feeling?”
I shook my head. “Better now. Can you help me up, please?” I hated asking for help, but I didn’t think I could get up without waking Naruto.
Kisame gently moved Naruto’s head and then positioned him comfortably on the bed. He didn’t wake and I was thankful for that. Kisame helped me stand. “I think I’m okay, now. Thank you.” My back was a little sore, but I could tolerate it. I went in the bathroom and groaned at the site of my eye.
I took a shower and got dressed. Still none of the band had woken. Obito was sitting in the room. I sighed. “Time to go, isn’t it?” He nodded. I dropped down on the bed next to Naruto and gave his cheek a soft kiss.
I wrote him a note and headed out the door with Obito. I paid for the band’s rooms and took off. I fell asleep as Obito drove toward my home. Thoughts of Naruto occupied my mind and I prayed that Kisame would protect my blondie with his life.
A/N: Seriously, check out WHOLE WHEAT BREAD if you haven’t heard of them. They were awesome in concert. THE MATCHES are also worth looking into … at least their first album E. Von Dahl Killed the Locals. Even if their newer albums do suck compared to the first one, they are still awesome in concert.
I love 1st Avenue. It’s my favorite Minneapolis venue. I also loved the Ascot Room in the Quest, but sadly it is no more. (by the way, if you hadn’t figured it out, I live in boringsville (North Dakota) and love my escapes to Minneapolis. If you ever find yourself there you should check out Bryant Lake Bowl. I loved the food.)
