Ok, so I know that I kneed an actual disclaimer so here it
is:� I do not own Naruto or any of its
characters, yadda yadda, grumble grumble.�

Now that that is over with, a short A/N: I�m sorry for the
long delay but this chapter was a bitch to write!� I honestly had no idea how to make it work exactly how I wanted it to but
whatever!� Also the Chunin exams did
happen, but sound�s rebellion did not.�
Sasuke was left with team seven as a gennin.

A big thank you to all of my reviewers, and now on with the
show!

Chapter 5: The battle of fate

�� A pale fork
tongued man smiled as he watched his plan unveil.� His smile grew as flames started to spread,
bathing the night in a golden light.�
�Excellent�� he whispered, watching as a ring of leaf jonin spread
through the city, now alerted to the sound nin who had invaded their
borders.� Everything was going according
to plan.� Soon the Uchiha brat�s younger
brother would be his, and with that, the legendary Sharingan.�
�� And so,
Orochimaru waited, and watched, the smile never leaving his face as the battles
grew more and more intense.� A group of
purple clad ninja that he recognized as his sound nin
were thrown back, all of them dead.�
Orochimaru�s smile grew as he saw the blond hair and silver hair of his
past teammates joining the fray.�
�� But the
mass death of his subordinates did not phase him, for he knew that the two sannin �were looking
for him, and he also knew that they wouldn�t find him, so he sat content as the
battles raged on throughout the night.�
The jonin line didn�t weaken and by the next day, were still fighting as
fiercely as before, trading out with the ANBU regularly.�
�� At mid day,
Orochimaru decided that he had waited long enough.� Hopping down from the top of the hokage
monument, he formed the hand seals for his favorite pet.� The giant snake breaking
his fall.� As the duo raced
towards their target, the snake took out any of the leaf nin
that stood in his way.�
�� Jiraiya,
noticing the commotion turned, just managing to jump out of the way when the
giant snake struck, its head striking the building
behind him, making it collapse.� Tsunade
and Sasuke were not far behind the toad sage, fighting off the sound nin, by unspoken consent as Jiraiya summoned his own
giant.�
�� The hokage,
and the last of the Uchiha fought fiercely, but the sheer numbers of the sound nin were overwhelming them both.� The fight continued for nearly another hour
before the tide finally turned to Kohona�s favor.�

�� When Naruto
awoke, he found himself back in his apartment, in his bedroom.� Sitting up, Naruto felt as if in a haze, the
events of the last day hazy at best.�
Thinking about how he could�ve gotten back into his apartment.� That�s when it all came back, hitting Naruto
like a ton of bricks.� Jumping out of
bed, Naruto was relieved to find that he had slept through the whole night,
meaning that he was back to being a hanyou.�
The first day of his heat was over.�
Dipping into the well of power he felt once again, he relaxed, but
something in the back of his mind told him to stay on guard.�
�� Then
another thought crossed his mind, a frown covering his face.
�I missed the first night of celebration with Sasuke!�� And before his internal ally could reply, his
apartment shook violently.� At that
moment, Yokiori ran in.� Naruto was happy
to see that his hanyou form had returned as well, but the look on his face made
Naruto steel himself.�
�Hurry Naruto, your village is under attack!�� Shouted the younger
Uzimaki.� Naruto didn�t need to be
told twice.� Throwing on a black outfit
that would allow him to move freely, but was still somewhat protective, he
strapped on his weapons pouch and kunai holster and ran out, Yoki right on his
heels.�
�� Before they
reached the street, Naruto was about to form the seals for his henge before his
brother stopped him.� �You�ll need all of
your strength, no hiding, this is serious.��
Naruto knew that his brother knew the importance of hiding from the
villagers and the other ninja, so for him to tell Naruto to forsake such hiding
was a sign of how desperate Kohona was.�
�� Naruto
nodded, heading out into the streets, heedless of his ears and the tree tails
twitching behind him.� Following his
brother out of his apartment, Naruto narrowly dodged a kunai that was thrown at
him.� Looking up at the rooftop from
where the kunai had come from, Naruto saw Yokiori jump up onto the roof,
startling the sound nin who were most likely there to
ambush whoever they saw.�
�� With a
speed that nearly matched Naruto�s, Yoki ran up to the two first ninja, tearing
out their still beating hearts, and before the other two could react, their
throats were slit, all four falling dead before they were able to utter a
word.�
�� Naruto gave
a fox grin to his brother who returned it before motioning towards the center
of Kohona, and the hokage tower.� Naruto, never one who liked to be told twice, raced off, a feeling
of dread pooling in his stomach as he felled ninja after ninja who had gotten
his way, even the most advanced sound jonin falling before him.�
�� When the
hokage tower had finally come into view, Naruto skidded to a halt.� Sniffing the air, his acute senses picked up
the smell of snake, and of blood.� Tsunade�s, Jiraiya�s and Sasuke�s blood.� That was all Naruto needed.� Speeding off in that
direction, Naruto raced as fast as he could.� He would not
let the snake bastard take Sasuke.

�� Uchiha
Sasuke fought for his life, the enemy nin pushing him
towards the center of Kohona.� The
sharingan was flaring as he took down sound nin after
sound nin, showing none of them mercy.�
But Sasuke didn�t fight for himself, he fought
for Naruto, and for his village.� Like
hell he would let them ruin his Naruto�s life and village.� He would die before that happened, and
apparently so would the jonin who he found dead as he was pushed back.�
�� Once he was
pushed to the Hokage tower, he noticed the sannin that Naruto called
�ero-sannin� and Tsunade.� Taking out an
attacker that would�ve killed the hokage, Sasuke joined the fray.� It had appeared that they were winning until
a giant snake lunged in, the rider Sasuke�s worst nightmare.� The cursed man who had
placed the curse seal on his neck during the Chunin exams.� Orochimaru.� As the snake master glared at Sasuke from the
top of his pet, the curse seal flaring Sasuke dropped to his knees.� The seal was burning terribly, and he
would�ve died there if Jiraiya hadn�t pulled him out of the way at the last
moment of the snake�s strike.�
�� Soon it had
become a summons battle between Jiraiya and Orochimaru, the strongest summons
wins.� The sharingan combined with the
curse seal sapping his strength, Sasuke gave into his memories, and fell into
oblivion.�

You can have power
Sasuke.

All the power you
could ever want.

The power to defeat
Itachi

The power to finally
be strong enough to protect those you love.

�� As Naruto
cleared the hokage tower, he arrived just in time to see Sasuke collapse.
Pushing the feeling of dread that pooled in his stomach as he felt his
�addiction� collapse, but it was soon replaced by a new feeling.� Anger, and Naruto
knew exactly what he was going to do to the person who had caused his Sasuke so
much pain.� Jumping onto the back of
Jiraiya�s summon, Naruto relaxed some when he realized that the sannin didn�t
recognize him.� �It�s me Ero-sannin!�
Naruto said, and apparently the toad sage believed him, for he lowered his
guard.� Walking over to him, Naruto
whispered his plan into the sannin�s ear.�
Jiraiya looked skeptical at first, but when the snake charged again, he
agreed, willing to protect the Uchiha.
�� Jumping off
of the frog, Naruto made his own symbols, fanning his palm out,
he landed on his own summons.� Everyone
backed away at what they saw, but it didn�t phase Orochimaru, for under the
kitsune, was none other than Aynara, her six tails flaring behind her.�
�� With a loud
roar, she announced her presence to the world.�
�It feels good to be back!� She said to Naruto threw their mental
link.� Looking over at the snake, Aynara
let out a low growl, taunting the beast into another attack. And attack it did,
the snake�s ultra fast lunge seemed to be in slow motion to Naruto and his
sister.� Pushing out of the snake�s path,
Aynara skidded around, an open strike possible, and she took it, not wanting to
prolong the battle longer than was necessary.�
�� Jumping in
for the strike, her powerful jaws wrapped around the snake�s neck before coming
together with a sickening �click� the snake�s
decapitated head falling to the ground.� The body collapsing in a pool of its own blood.
�� With his
summon killed, Orochimaru tried to flee, but Naruto wouldn�t let that
happen.� This man had hurt his dearest
person, and he would pay with his life.�
As the snake tried to flee, Naruto used his true speed to project
himself in front of the monster sannin, and with a quick flip of his wrist,
Orochimaru fell dead, a kunai buried into his throat before he could
react.�

�We need to leave now� Said Yokiori, grabbing Naruto�s
arm.� The bastard was dead, and they both
could smell that Sasuke was no longer in the village.� Naruto didn�t know why, but he did need to
leave.� With one last solemn look, he
took to the trees with Yokiori, the village forgotten.�
�� Naruto
didn�t look back as Yokiori ushered him out of the village.� Naruto knew that his brother spoke the
truth.� Now that his secret was out, his
life was at stake, as was his honor as well as the honor as anyone who would
protect him.� No, Naruto had to go to his
true home and gain the life that he truly deserved for all of his life�s
stress.�
�� As the two
sprinted into the forest, Naruto knew that now his life was now with his
brother and family, not with his friends in Kohona.� For now, he was the Kayhaku of the hidden
kitsune village.�

�� Back in
Kohona, Tsunade watched as her successor left, knowing that his dream of
becoming Hokage was now forever out of his reach.� Naruto Uzimaki was now a
s-rank missing nin of Kohona.� Turning
back to her fallen teammate, her expression turned sour as she watched the
shimmering form of �Orochimaru� disappear.�
A dead Kabuto in the wake once the genjutsu faded.�
�Thought so.�� She muttered, reporting the news to Jiraiya who
just nodded.
�� So
Orochimaru got what he wanted.� He
escaped, and by the report from an ANBU, had taken the Uchiha with him.� Kohona was in ruins, and now the two greatest
ninja were gone.� Kohona was at its
weakest and now vulnerable to attack.�
Tsunade sighed, this is just what the snake Nin
wanted.� For now they were hardly a
threat to anybody.

Kohona was more than likely doomed.�

Naruto: *growls*� not if you want to live.

KK: *shrugs* whatever.�
