Sasuke ran a hand through his hair, pushing his long bangs back over his head before releasing the strands and letting them fall back in his face. His forehead was slightly dotted with sweat, but he didn’t bother wiping it away. The sun beat down on his exposed white limbs, and yet, it was still quite pleasant to be outside. He closed his eyes and lifted his face to the sky.
“If you start sparkling, I swear I will dismember you and leave you somewhere, several somewheres, to be exact.”
Sasuke smirked but kept his position, merely opening his senses to feel his kinsman move toward him. “If I start sparkling, I allow you to do so.” Sasuke opened his eyes and sought out his companion as the other body sat next to him, their sides brushing together as they breathed. Neji gathered his long hair and swept it over one shoulder before leaning back on his elbows to mimic Sasuke’s position on top of the picnic table in the quad.
“I thought I’d warn you that those girls are heading your way. I don’t know what they want, but they have that look in their eyes that reminds me of Kiba tracking his prey.” Sasuke’s smirk widened as he pictured the almost manic look in Kiba’s eyes whenever he came across the scent of blood. It was such a different reaction than either his or Neji’s reaction to blood; sometimes it fascinated Sasuke, and sometimes it sickened him.
“Sasuke!”
The high pitched screech of his name made both he and Neji flinch, and they quickly sat up from their leaned back positions to face the coming nuisances. Sasuke’s eyes narrowed as he pinpointed the two girls coming toward them. He couldn’t stand them and sometimes wished they weren’t human; if they weren’t human, he’d be free to threaten them in a way that would ensure they’d never come near him again. As it was, he couldn’t stand to be near them long enough try to persuade them to leave him alone.
“Sasuke, we’ve been looking everywhere for you!” Sakura was the one of the two that annoyed him the most. Both he and Neji agreed that if she were to ever find out their secret, she would willingly sacrifice herself if it meant being near him. Ino at least seemed to have a bit more sense. It also helped that the blonde was close to Shikamaru, who was good friends with Neji’s cousin and his kinsman, Hinata.
“And it looks like you’ve finally found me,” he replied, the smirk he’d sported for Neji nowhere to be seen now.
“We were wondering what costume you’d be wearing to the party so we could coordinate,” Ino said, flipping her long blonde ponytail over her shoulder as she and Sakura eagerly awaited his answer.
Sasuke was at a loss, though he made sure it didn’t show on his face. He had no idea what they were talking about, but like hell he’d encourage them to inform him. He really didn’t care what they were talking about. Neji, however, didn’t seem content not to know. Sasuke clicked his tongue slightly. Even the mere mention of a social gathering had the other damn near salivating.
“To what party are you referring?” Neji asked them, his voice low and sultry, just a little incentive that would ensure the girls answered to his liking. Sasuke wanted to roll his eyes but refrained. He also refrained from recoiling at the thick smell of their arousal in the air before him. Uninterested in the answer, he turned his attention to the milling people in the background, trying to keep their rising and rushing blood from pulling at him.
“You mean you haven’t heard?” Sakura asked, momentarily diverting her attention to Neji before continuing her intent staring Sasuke’s way. “What about you, Sasuke?”
Sasuke didn’t answer. He had no interest in whatever party it turned out to be. Almost enough seconds had passed between her question and his answer that Sakura began to open her mouth to ask again, maybe thinking that despite how close she was standing to him, he hadn’t heard, but Neji gained her attention again.
“I’m afraid neither of us has heard of a party,” he said, hinting heavily that he wanted to be told.
“Oh, I’m going to kill him,” Ino breathed. “I can’t believe Naruto didn’t tell you. He’s throwing a Halloween party and invited a lot of people. We assumed he’d also invited the two most popular boys on campus.”
Sasuke stilled, forgetting to even breathe. That name rolled over his body like a shiver, making the blood in his veins both freeze and boil. He was the only earthly thing that could snare Sasuke’s interest, though only Neji and Itachi, his brother, knew that. Sasuke kept his eyes turned away, as if uninterested, but he listened intently to the information that the girls continued to give Neji.
“His dad got permission to hold the party in the grand ballroom at the Parliament building. We figured you’d know about it, Sasuke, since both your dad and brother work there.”
Sasuke’s brow ticked momentarily, and he made a mental note to kick Itachi’s ass later. He quickly pasted on a small smile and turned to the girls. “I haven’t heard about this party, but I would love to attend. But I need Naruto to invite me. And Neji, as well.”
They looked confused for a moment, and then Ino snorted as she fussed with her hair again. “Please. Like you need to ask Naruto’s permission. It’d be alright to just show up.”
Sasuke heard Neji chuckle, so low a human couldn’t hear it, and his smile widened in response. They both rose from the table with such sultry, fluid motions that caused the girls to blush. They moved in close, Neji going as far as brushing his lips against Ino’s neck.
“But a gentleman always asks permission,” Neji purred. “Please, lead us to the host.” The girls nodded frantically and spun around, quickly striding across the quad toward the outdoor basketball court.
A small crowd had gathered, watching the game. Sasuke could see a head of flashing blond hair flying across the court over the heads of the audience. Naruto had always been a tall child, but now he practically towered over his classmates and friends, a healthy six feet three inches that he inherited from his Japanese-American father. As Sasuke drew nearer, he could practically feel that strong blood flowing through the blond’s veins, causing an almost crippling wave of hunger to wash over him. Neji steadied him with a hand at his elbow.
He and Neji pushed their way to the front of the crowd, Sakura and Ino following close behind. Sasuke quickly noted everyone else on the court, catching Kiba’s quick wink and grin, before riveting his eyes to Naruto, watching his every movement. The blond obviously outmatched his opponents, outmatched his teammates, and it was a speedy victory for him. The crowd cheered and applauded, called out various amusing things to the winning team, and steadily drifted away until only a few remained.
Sasuke caught Kiba’s eye again and subtly indicated the blond and the girls behind him. Kiba gave a slight nod of understanding, and Sasuke and Neji shared a slight smile between them. It probably wouldn’t be easy to get Naruto’s invitation, but it would certainly prove entertaining.
“Naruto, heads up. I think there are some girls here who need to talk to you,” Kiba said, trying to get Naruto’s attention as the blond used his T-shirt to wipe away the sweat on his face, giving Sasuke an unobstructed view of the man’s chiseled and bronzed abs. Neji knocked his elbow into Sasuke’s side, indicating to him that his eyes were flashing.
Naruto lifted his head and turned his gorgeous blue eyes their way, lighting first on the girls, but narrowing when he recognized Sasuke and Neji. He let his shirt drop and walked toward them.
“Hey, Sakura, Ino. What can I do for you?” He smiled at them, but Sasuke could tell it was forced, most likely due to his and Neji’s presence.
“Don’t ‘what can I do for you’ us! How come you didn’t invite Neji and Sasuke to the party?” Sakura asked angrily.
Naruto’s eyes narrowed angrily at Sasuke for a second before looking back at Sakura. “I can choose not to invite certain people.”
“Well, if Sasuke and Neji don’t go, we won’t go, either, Naruto,” Ino said, her haughty smile enough to insinuate the she thought Naruto couldn’t bear for them not to attend his party. It was a smart play, since as far back as Sasuke could remember, Naruto had always chased after Sakura.
Naruto momentarily looked as if he didn’t like that prospect, but quickly hardened his visage. “Come or don’t; I don’t care. But these two are not invited.” Naruto’s voice held a certain bite on the word ‘not’ that caused a twinge of… something in Sasuke. He couldn’t quite name it, but it was very close to unease.
Neji cleared his throat and caught Naruto’s eye. “Can you tell us why we are not invited?”
Naruto’s eyes clouded slightly, the bright blue dulling a bit, but he tore his eyes away and shifted back a few steps. “I just don’t like you,” he answered, and turned from them, bending to grab his light jacket from the court sidelines, and then striding off. Sakura and Ino sputtered in his wake, begging Sasuke and Neji’s forgiveness as they ran after the blond. Sasuke and Neji were left behind, both a bit dazed by the blond’s resistance and blunt answer. Kiba joined them, chuckling under his breath.
“He really has it out for you two.”
“Shut up, Kiba,” Neji spat. Sasuke almost felt bad for him. His powers of persuasion were second to none, merely because Sasuke and Itachi did not feel inclined to flatter their prey any more than necessary. To be put off by a human must chafe.
“He must suspect us of something, to be so on guard,” Sasuke mused. Then he looked at Kiba. “Though he seems to get along well enough with you.”
“Yes, well, I may be a beast, but at least I’m of the living.” Kiba’s fangs glinted in the sun as he grinned at his own joke.
Neji hated that joke and showed it by wrapping his hand around the weredog’s throat with preternatural speed. “We are not dead.”
Kiba shook his head frantically, trying to pry Neji’s hand from his throat. “Of course you aren’t. I was only joking!” Neji finally let go, pushing Kiba back a bit. Kiba panted for breath, glaring at Neji as he hacked and coughed. “You’re so sensitive. You don’t see Sasuke getting his panties in a twist.”
Well, Sasuke hated the joke, too, but Neji had been closer. He glared Kiba’s way to show his own appreciation for the mangy dog’s sense of humor.
“God, you both suck.” Kiba chuckled at his own words. Sasuke and Neji glowered more. “Man, you two need to get laid more.”
“I get laid plenty, thank you very much,” Neji said. “It’s Sasuke who’s the little priss about sex.” It was Sasuke’s turn to elbow Neji in the side, though he did it much harder than Neji had.
“What are you talking about?” Kiba looked confused. “Don’t y’all score every time you feed?”
Neji rolled his eyes. “When we feed, it’s only our prey that feels pleasure. Our hunger is merely sated. For us to feel pleasure, we need someone to feed from us.”
“Oh, that’s gross,” Kiba said, gagging as he held his stomach. “But aren’t y’all the top of the food chain? What feeds on y’all?”
Sasuke smirked. “We do.”
Kiba looked back and forth between Sasuke and Neji. He paled beneath his tanned skin. “Oh, man, that is sick! You two…!”
Neji pushed Kiba again. “Sasuke and I have never done such a thing. And he’s sadly lacking in the explanation. Others of our kind are the ideal bed partners, but by no means the only choice. The way we have sex involves a certain level of trust that we, unfortunately, do not feel for a great many creatures on this earth. But if that trust is there, we can receive pleasure from any of them. And I, at least, do on a regular basis.”
Neji and Kiba looked at Sasuke.
“Shut up,” he growled before stalking away from them. He always had to put up with Neji’s innuendo, and now he had to deal with Kiba. Well, Kiba he could just kill.
Trust.
Yes, Sasuke had issues with trust. And, of course, his sex life lacked because of it. But trust or no, Naruto was someone he would bed in a heartbeat. And that party was a prime opportunity. He had to speak to Itachi. After kicking his ass.
~*~
Itachi wasn’t one to ever show an imperfect image to the public, but behind closed doors he was a different person altogether. Leaning on his elbow as he flipped heedlessly through one the room’s many archaic tomes, Itachi half listened to the conversation between his father and Minato and half thought about his next meal… or bed partner, whichever crossed him first.
A loud noise jostled him from his thoughts. He looked up and caught Minato staring at him as Fugaku talked on and on about the next election. The look in those bright blue eyes was almost hungry, and the smile on his face was momentarily, what looked to Itachi, predatory. It was only a moment, and then the source of the noise drew his attention. He saw Naruto barge into the private library and stop at a chair across from him. He slung his messenger bag on top of the table and roughly jerked a chair out, plopping down in it and crossing his arms on his chest.
Itachi smiled at him. “Rough day, kiddo?”
Naruto glared at him. “All thanks to your brother.”
Itachi’s brow rose. “And what, may I ask, did he do?”
“Naruto,” Minato called as he approached them. “Is everything ready for your party tonight? The Prime Minister’s son is very excited to attend.”
“Yeah, everything’s fine.” Naruto’s continuous scowl begged to differ.
Minato turned his attention to Itachi. “And what are you and Sasuke dressing as this evening?”
Itachi watched as Naruto’s glower increased in intensity, and his smile widened. “I will attend tonight’s festivities as a devilishly good looking bachelor looking for the perfect draught.” Fugaku coughed over by the room’s large fireplace, and Itachi watched as that amused and predatory smile flitted across Minato’s face again. Itachi paused a moment, perplexed by the look he’d never seen on the elder blond’s face before. The smile was gone almost as quickly as it had come, and Itachi shrugged it off, continuing, “I don’t know how Sasuke will dress.”
Naruto fidgeted in his chair. Minato put one arm around Naruto’s shoulders and squeezed, what looked to be rather hard to Itachi.
“Well, a little birdie told me that Sasuke hasn’t yet been invited,” Minato said, applying more pressure to Naruto’s shoulders.
Naruto grunted. “Would that little birdie happen to be Sasuke?”
Itachi chuckled under his breath. Minato let go of Naruto’s shoulders and sat beside him. “Why didn’t you invite the little Uchiha? And Hyuuga for that matter.” Naruto grunted again in response. “Naruto,” Minato said, a clear warning in his voice.
“I just don’t like them,” Naruto said begrudgingly after a short but strained silence. Itachi shared a look with his father, who looked unconcerned.
“Why not?” Minato sounded surprised. “You practically grew up with them.” Naruto remained silent. “Naruto?”
Naruto exhaled. “I don’t know. They weird me out. They feel… off. Like they aren’t the same as other people. I always thought it was because of their prissy lifestyles, but lately… I don’t know!” Naruto huffed in frustration.
Itachi froze. In the stillness that followed, Itachi felt Sasuke slip into the library and hide within the shadows after noticing Naruto’s presence. He could also feel Sasuke’s shock at Naruto’s outburst. There was no way Naruto could sense their… ‘otherness.’ And yet, he’d always been the slightest bit uneasy visiting the Uchiha mansion as a child. Maybe he had the ‘sense.’ If that were the case, it would be easier to sense Sasuke and Neji, as they had yet the years needed to completely hide themselves from those who could identify them.
“What nonsense is that, Naruto?” Minato asked. The tension seemed to diffuse at his words. “They’re the same they’ve always been. What’s caused you to feel like this all of a sudden?”
“Maybe he’s beginning to take notice of Sasuke’s delicate physique and feminine qualities. Maybe he’s got a little crush,” Itachi suggested, trying to settle the heightened nerves. It didn’t hurt that it filled him with a malicious glee as he felt Sasuke’s anger wash over him. Itachi couldn’t pass up the opportunity to embarrass both Naruto and Sasuke.
“As if, grugsnok,” Naruto practically growled. Itachi’s eyes widened in shock. He didn’t know what the word was, but it certainly wasn’t a human word, nor was the guttural utterance of the word. Fugaku looked just as shocked, but Minato merely slapped the boy on the back of his head and whispered something in his ear, so low not even Itachi’s preternatural hearing could pick up.
Minato finally stopped whispering in Naruto’s ear and leaned back in his chair. Naruto said nothing. “Naruto!” Minato barked.
“Fine!” Naruto returned, slamming his hands down on the table loudly as he rose, the chair he sat on tumbling backwards with a clamorous bang against the marble floor. He grabbed his bag and slung it over his shoulder, stomping his way to the still open door. “Sasuke, you and Neji can come to the fucking party,” he snarled as he stormed through the door.
Minato laughed as he stood up. “Well, that settles that. Sasuke, be sure to let Neji know what time the party starts. Oh, and be sure not to make Naruto too angry that night. Unless you want to, that is.” He turned away, moving toward the door, but quickly turned back around to face Itachi, continuing to walk to the door backward, his hands shoved into the pockets of his dress pants. “And, Itachi, tonight I’ll help you find that draught.” That smile that had flashed Itachi’s way twice before did so again, leaving Itachi more than a little dumbfounded as Minato spun on his heel and disappeared out of the library door.
“How did they know I was here?” Sasuke asked as he stepped out of the shadows.
Itachi pulled himself away from thoughts of Minato’s mysterious smile, and looked at Sasuke. “I wonder more about that strange word Naruto used. I’m not sure of its origin, but I think it’s one of the high demonic languages.”
Fugaku coughed again, gaining his sons’ attention. “I hope I don’t have to warn you of the consequences awaiting you should you misbehave tonight, the both of you.” He eyed Itachi as he said the last. Itachi only smirked in return. “The Emperor’s attaché and son are throwing this party, and it would not do for the sons of a member of Parliament, one of them a member himself, to gain any bad publicity that would reflect poorly on the Emperor. And…,” he paused, coughing loudly, looking the least bit awkward to Itachi as he tried to find the right words to say something. “Just… just know, Itachi, I wholeheartedly disagreed to this, okay?”
Fugaku left them, and Sasuke picked up the chair Naruto had toppled, sitting down in it once it was upright. He crossed his arms over his chest, mimicking Naruto’s earlier pose. Itachi finally closed the book he’d been half-heartedly reading earlier and looked at Sasuke.
“What the hell was that about?” Sasuke asked. Itachi wasn’t sure. Their father seemed to dislike something that only he knew about, but didn’t feel the need to tell either of them the details. But that was normal. Their father knew a plethora of things that he didn’t tell them. Besides, he was far more interested in the little scene with Naruto and Minato.
“Why do you think Naruto dislikes you so, little brother?”
“Who knows?” Sasuke was silent a moment. “But he did say something earlier today that made me a little… uneasy, I guess.”
Itachi lifted an eyebrow in curiosity. “And what would that be?”
Sasuke shrugged. “When Sakura and Ino asked him to invite Neji and me to the party, he bitingly told them he would not invite us. Us specifically, Itachi. It felt like, I don’t know, like he knew we couldn’t attend if we weren’t invited.”
After a momentary pause, Itachi cleared his throat. “Nonsense. We’re reading far too much into this. He simply doesn’t like you, even though you’d practically throw yourself at him should he show the slightest inclination of changing his mind.”
Sasuke glared at him. “Shut up, Itachi. My sex life is none of your business.”
“Especially since you don’t have one.”
Sasuke was gone in the blink of an eye, the candelabra that had been on the table now embedded in the wall behind Itachi. Itachi blinked before smiling to himself. He stood up and took a deep breath. He was suddenly assailed by a delectable scent in the air that entered his body and coursed through his blood. His breath quickened, and the urge to feed and be fed upon in return nearly drowned out his reason and control. It was lust like he’d never felt before, and it took all he had to reel it in before one of the innocent humans milling about in the rooms beyond became his next prey.
“Yes, I’ll stay away from your sex life, little brother,” he said to himself as he straightened his clothes. “I need to focus more on my own.”
~*~
The ballroom was packed with people. Bodies pressed and brushed against each other, either dancing or just trying to get by. Naruto smiled. A lot of people he didn’t even know, let alone invite, had shown up, pushing the boundaries of the maximum capacity. Even his father was somewhere in the crowd, hopefully not chatting up girls young enough to be Naruto’s younger sister.
His eye caught on something pink. Sakura milled about talking and drinking, dancing and yelling at Ino. He was glad they both showed up. He even entertained the idea of asking one of them to dance, when a wave of something cold that turned hot rushed over him. It had been happening more and more often as Halloween had drawn closer, and it had him worried. He knew what it was. He’d first experienced it when he’d turned eighteen, and that year and each year after, he’d successfully been able to ignore it and handle the worst of it by himself. But somehow he could feel that this time was different, that he wouldn’t be able to ignore it or handle it himself. He was starting to think this party was a bad idea.
“Dude, what are you doing over here?” Kiba walked up to him, open beer bottle in hand. He was dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow, and it made Naruto laugh.
“Wouldn’t you prefer a bottle of rum?” he asked.
“Can’t get my hands on it at your politically correct party, now can I?”
Naruto snorted. “Look, the last thing my dad needs is the media going crazy with drunken hooligans destroying Parliament stories. Deal with the beer until the party’s over, then you and me can get as smashed as we want in the privacy of one of our rooms.”
“Deal.” Kiba grinned wickedly, flashing his sharp teeth and leaving Naruto with the feeling he’d snuck something in under the long coat of his costume. He brought the bottle of beer to his lips and took a drink, squinting his eyes as he took in Naruto. “Dude, what are you wearing?”
Naruto looked down at himself. He saw nothing wrong with the Victorian tuxedo, the dark navy almost black in the dim light of the party. It had the coattails and everything, complete with a matching navy suede mask that hid the better part of his face except for his mouth and chin. There was a top hat that also went with it, but Naruto had gotten annoyed with it and thrown it somewhere.
“What’s wrong with this outfit?”
“You look like a vampire wannabe. That’s so played out. Vampires are lame, dude.” Kiba made a disgusted face as he spoke the words, as if they were offensive. Then his eyes widened, and he looked around almost fearfully. His wig and hat slipped as he frantically looked around the ballroom. His eyes riveted at one spot, and Naruto followed where he glanced, catching sight of two figures standing at the entrance of the ballroom. Naruto almost snarled at the sight of Neji and Sasuke standing together, their costumes black and inconspicuous, yet garnering them much attention nonetheless.
Naruto jumped down from the table he’d been perched on and pressed through the crowd. As he moved between the bodies, none of them touched him, minutely parting before him as he proceeded to the front of the venue. He could feel as well as see that Sasuke’s eyes were on him, following his progress. He soon stood in front of his new guests, arms crossed angrily over his chest, unhappy at having them there even if he’d promised his father that they could come.
“Thank you for inviting us to the party, Naruto,” Neji said, bowing at the waist, his long hair falling over his shoulder. As he stood straight, he threw it back over his shoulder with a quick movement of his hand.
“Yes, thank you,” Sasuke echoed, his smirk implying that he knew Naruto hadn’t done it of his own free will. Of course, Sasuke had been there, hiding for whatever reason while Naruto’s dad had practically forced him to invite the two. He would think Sasuke had gone crying to daddy for an invite, except Naruto’s dad would never do anything because others asked him. Not without getting something of equal or greater, usually greater, value in return. No, Naruto’s dad told Naruto to invite them for a reason of his own.
As Naruto glared at Sasuke, and Sasuke returned the heated look with a haughtiness that only heightened Naruto’s irritation, another wave of the cold/hot sensation rushed over him. His breath sped up slightly, but he kept his composure. Though, he might as well not have for all the good it did him. Kiba stepped away from him, his eyes averted to the people behind them who were subtly glancing at their group. Sasuke must have perceived something as well, though from the fleeting look of confusion on his face, he didn’t really know what was going on with Naruto.
Naruto could feel two people come up behind him, though he didn’t look away from the men in front of him. Sakura and Ino joined them, ecstatic that Sasuke and Neji had shown up, not knowing Naruto had invited them. While just five minutes ago he’d entertained the idea of spending some time with either one of them, now they scraped at his nerves as they went on and on about the two men before him. His blood began to rush through his veins, his breathing becoming noticeably heavy. He saw Sasuke make some sign to Neji, who nodded and moved his fingers in a beckoning motion. He felt another person join them, surprised to see Hinata appear in his peripheral.
“Sakura, what an amazing costume,” Hinata said, linking arms with Sakura and drawing her off in one direction, while Neji asked for the honor of Ino’s hand for a dance and drew her off in another. Naruto ignored them, still gazing at Sasuke. He was unable to look away, and he wasn’t exactly sure why, though he knew his options. A – he was that upset by Sasuke being there that he was blind to everyone else at the moment, or B – he wanted Sasuke alone and naked on any horizontal or vertical surface that presented itself. Given his current condition, he was leaning more toward the latter, but there was enough anger that his hand had been forced that his reason and control remained intact.
“Is something wrong, Naruto?” Naruto’s eyes snapped up, suddenly aware at the sound of Sasuke’s voice that his gaze had wandered much lower than Sasuke’s face. The man wasn’t wearing anything that could be described as a costume, since the slim black pants and tight black turtle neck sweater were almost normal attire for him. Sasuke wasn’t built, per se, but the sweater did hug the slight curve of muscle that Sasuke had, the biceps, pectorals, the abs… it all looked… delicious.
“What are you supposed to be?” he asked, trying to distract both himself and Sasuke from where his eyes had been.
“Hm?” Sasuke looked down at himself, as if he’d never given clothes a single thought before, and shrugged. “I don’t do costumes. But…,” he trailed off, walking forward, closer to Naruto, to whisper, “If I have to be something, I guess I could be… a creature of the night.” Sasuke pulled away from him, a mysterious smile on his face. The smile just ticked Naruto off more.
“Just be happy you got an invite at all! Just because you whined about it to your dad.”
Sasuke snorted. “I didn’t say anything to my father.” He was quiet a second, giving Naruto a narrow look. “I was going to, but your dad made you invite me before I could. Which reminds me, how did you know I was there?”
“I could smell you,” Naruto answered without thinking. “Your cologne isn’t uncommon, but when it mixes with your natural body chemicals, it creates a unique scent.” His mother had taught him about that when his senses had begun to develop. When he’d first met Sasuke, he’d instantly been riveted by the scent the other carried, which had first set off Naruto’s dislike of the man. He’d hated the way his attention had always been snared by Sasuke. His attention was still snared by Sasuke. He hadn’t been lying when he’d said that Sasuke and Neji freak him out. They did feel off, almost inhuman sometimes, but he was more scared by how much Sasuke occupied his thoughts. It made him angry sometimes, like now, when, even though the shocked look on Sasuke’s face that clearly said he didn’t think Naruto smart enough to understand chemical changes should have pissed him off, he still had to consciously fight the urge to run his eyes over Sasuke’s body and imagine what he’d look like naked.
The cold/hot rush became a warm feeling that suffused his whole body, amplifying as his irritation turned to anger and made his blood roar in his ears. The noise of the party disappeared, as did the mingling smells of sweat, makeup, and alcohol. All he could discern were the sound of his heart thumping and the smell of Sasuke surrounding him.
“Are you all right, Naruto?” Sasuke asked. His hand came to rest on Naruto’s shoulder, and he realized he was almost bent double, hugging his arms tightly to his chest. There was a touch of concern in Sasuke’s voice that would have helped calm Naruto down if Sasuke hadn’t moved closer as well, letting Naruto feel the other’s body heat.
“Air,” he gasped out. He needed air, needed to wash his body in the cold night air and dispel the heat and the smell of Sasuke.
“What? Air?” Sasuke asked. His hand clenched on Naruto’s shoulder, the other coming up to Naruto’s chest, trying to stand him upright and support his weight at the same time. His skin burned where Sasuke touched. “Where, Naruto?”
“Take him to the East Library. There’s a balcony there where he can get some air.” Naruto could feel his father’s approach, the heat that always radiated from the man washing over his back and, instead of making the atmosphere more stifling, helped Naruto rein in some of the lust he felt. Sasuke murmured a quiet affirmative and steered Naruto out the door they’d never moved from. Minato’s voice followed after them. “Don’t fight it, Naruto.”
Don’t fight it. Naruto grunted in annoyance. His father knew exactly what would happen if he didn’t fight it, and who it would happen with. His cock had swollen with blood long ago, but the thought of ‘not fighting it’ with Sasuke made it twinge with anticipation. It made it hard to walk, and Sasuke had to grab him tighter to maneuver him to the library. And despite Naruto’s obvious mixed feelings about what would transpire, he also couldn’t deny that he was anticipating it as well.
~*~
“Don’t fight what?” Itachi asked as he came up to Minato. He’d seen the strange scene between Naruto and Sasuke and had been walking their way when Minato had given his strange warning.
“Hm?” Minato turned around to face him, a guileless smile on his face. “Oh, just his attraction to your brother. If he tries to hold out, it would be painful and end up in more of a bloody mess than if he just gives in.”
Itachi blinked. “Are you saying Naruto is about to have sex with Sasuke?”
“Hm?” Minato’s attention had been taken away from their conversation, but he came right back into it. “Oh, yes. That’s why I said to take him to the East Library, which is for the private use of the Emperor’s attaché.”
“And you don’t care that your son is about to have sex with a man?” Itachi asked. No! That wasn’t the point. If Sasuke had sex with Naruto, their secret would be found out! Itachi turned to follow after them, but Minato stopped him by wrapping his fingers around Itachi’s left elbow and tugging Itachi into his chest.
“Now, now, Itachi. Don’t worry about little Sasuke. He’ll be fine.” Minato smiled that predatory grin Itachi had seen days ago. “I’d say more than fine. He’ll be quite satisfied, too. Besides,” Minato moved his face right up to Itachi’s, his hot breath fanning over Itachi’s lips, “I promised to help you find that draught.”
Itachi tried to pull his arm free. “No, I’m sorry, sir, but you don’t understand. Sasuke is… he’s… we’re… Naruto might be in danger.”
“Nonsense,” Minato said, his mouth still dangerously close, his lips brushing the slightest bit against Itachi’s. Itachi almost leaned into it. His lust had been left unsatisfied for a while, by choice to focus on other things, but it wasn’t a good thing to let it suffer with their kind. He took a deep breath to regain control and was assaulted by the same scent he had in the library days ago. The library he’d just been told belonged to Minato, exclusively.
“You, it’s your scent,” he said breathlessly. It wrapped around him, making his blood surged in his veins. His fangs elongated and his saliva built up in his mouth.
“Mm, yes. It took you long enough.” Minato pushed his lips fully against Itachi’s, and Itachi didn’t stop him. Instead, he shoved his tongue in Minato’s mouth and tasted the man, nearly growling at how much the taste and the smell were similar and how much they turned him on. It took a minute for him to remember that he was a member of Parliament and the man he was kissing in front of everyone was the Emperor’s attaché. He pulled away, Minato’s grip finally loosening on his elbow.
“Sir—”
“Minato,” he purred in reply.
“Minato,” Itachi said, surprised at the warmth that suffused him at the utterance, “You can’t let Sasuke and Naruto—”
Minato clicked his tongue. “Look, Sasuke and Naruto are adults. They’ll be fine. Sasuke can feed off Naruto, and Naruto can satisfy his heat. It’s win-win.” Minato shrugged, and while Itachi tried to wrap his head around the fact that Minato seemed to know their secret, Minato shoved him out the door and down the corridor. Itachi was pushed into another room, one he’d never been in before, but Minato obviously had, as his spicy and addictive scent was everywhere. “Now, how about that draught?”
“How can you stand there and ignore my warning? How do you know that Sasuke and Naruto will be fine? What do you mean by Naruto being in heat?” Itachi whirled around to face Minato, his face deadly serious and conveying they’d go no further until he got his answers.
Minato sighed. He clasped his hands behind his back and began to walk around the room, calmly glancing at everything in it except Itachi. “Naruto’s mother was a very powerful demon, a nine-tailed fox, to be exact.”
Itachi felt his heart thump in surprise. Demons were not creatures of the night. Though they were still creatures of the underworld, they were in a completely different class of supernatural phenomenon than vampires and werewolves, among others. But as young as Naruto was, Itachi would have been able to sense such a thing in his blood. There were no markings of such either. With fox demons, there should at least have been shadow whiskers or something. He said as much to Minato.
“True, but because Naruto is half demon and half me, he has the power to hide things like that.”
“And you are?”
Minato was quiet a moment, staring intently at a globe. Then he lifted his eyes to Itachi. “I’m an angel.”
“Angel!?” Itachi stepped back, aghast. He was so thoroughly attracted to one of God’s messengers?
“Well, I was an angel, though, frankly speaking, I don’t think I’ve stopped being one.” The look on Itachi’s face must have been comical, because Minato began to chuckle. “I know it’s shocking. But when I met Kushina, I couldn’t just let her go. I’ve been told I committed a sin that God’s elite couldn’t forgive.”
“You’re a fallen angel.”
“They’re not uncommon. But I guess you could say my case is special. I’m not just a fallen angel; I’m the first.”
It took Itachi a minute to fully understand what he was being told. When it hit him, he nearly fell down from the impact. “You’re…”
“The lord of the underworld, the devil, Lucifer, Mephistopheles, Beelzebub, Satan, and a myriad of other names, yes. In other words, your master.” Itachi’s knees felt weak. “And your master is calling on you to serve, Itachi. I have an itch that only you can scratch.” Minato advanced on him, and Itachi couldn’t move. He wrapped his arms around his neck, pressed his groin against Itachi’s, and ran his lips sensuously over Itachi’s chin and neck. “I want you,” he whispered, and Itachi was lost.

Naruto’s skin was hot to the touch, and Sasuke was slightly worried that the blond was sick. He’d looked fine when Sasuke and Neji had first shown up, but he’d noticed Naruto’s breath speed up and could feel the blood surging inside him. He’d given Neji a sign to get rid of the girls, hoping to have some time alone with Naruto. But if the blond was really sick, tonight might be a no-go.
“Hold on, Naruto,” he said, and he could feel Naruto shiver in his arms at the feel of his breath on the overheated skin. He opened the door to the East Library with his free hand and pulled Naruto through the door. He spotted the balcony door across the room and started that way, but Naruto’s knees suddenly buckled and took them both to the floor. Sasuke ending up underneath Naruto, his stomach pressing into the floor and something hard pressing into his lower back. Naruto lifted himself up from Sasuke, but kept Sasuke pinned with his hands grasping Sasuke’s wrists and his knees immobilizing one of Sasuke’s legs. Sasuke was suddenly engulfed in the scent of arousal, and he turned his head to the side, eyes searching for Naruto.
His face was different. Deep shadow whiskers streaked across his cheeks, and his canines were elongated the slightest bit. His eyes were no longer that beautiful blue, but a fiery red that sent a spike of fear down Sasuke’s spine. “Fox demon,” he whispered in awe. He’d never seen a demon before, but looking into Naruto’s eyes, he knew they deserved every whispered and fear-filled story to their name.
“Vampire,” Naruto replied, his voice low and gravelly. “I knew you were different, but I could never pinpoint why. Now I can smell it, the scent of blood that is not your own and the miasma of near-death.” One of Naruto’s hands lifted from Sasuke’s wrist, brushing aside the hair at the nape of Sasuke’s neck. He leaned in and licked Sasuke’s neck, making Sasuke shiver. “How about I give you death, vampire? The little death?”
Naruto’s arousal was growing thicker, quickening Sasuke’s heartbeat as he constantly breathed it in. He’d spent months desiring Naruto’s body, and he was being offered it. He’d be an idiot to pass it up. Using his strength and speed that he took pains to hide from humans, he threw Naruto off of him and stood. Naruto was standing as if nothing had happened, not a hair out of place, but a feral grin stretched his lips and a predatory glint lit his eyes.
Naruto reached up and ripped the navy blue mask from his face. “So?” he asked.
Sasuke smirked and licked his lips, a silent go-ahead. They rushed at each other, clawed fingers ripping into cloth as their lips clashed almost violently. Their fangs scraped against each other, and Naruto’s tongue plunged deep into Sasuke’s mouth, probing every corner. It touched one of his fangs, and the taste of blood flooded Sasuke’s mouth. Sasuke immediately began to suck on the muscle, savoring the warm blood as it slid down his throat. He hadn’t fed before the party, knowing he would have his pick of prey if Naruto didn’t pan out, and now he was grateful he hadn’t.
Naruto ripped his mouth away from Sasuke’s, licking his lips and smearing the remaining bit of blood on them before the wound healed before Sasuke’s eyes. Then Naruto’s hands were down at Sasuke’s waist, his sharp nails lightly scratching his skin as they dipped under the band of his pants. His whole right hand slipped into Sasuke’s pants, the warm palm pressing against his flaccid cock.
“Ah, I’d heard that vampires couldn’t get hard, but to find out it’s true is kinda funny.”
“Shut up,” Sasuke growled as he pushed his cock roughly into Naruto’s hand. He wasn’t erect, but he could still feel the pleasure of being touched. “Vampires carry the curse of our originator, who could not sire children, until they dispel it.” He threw his head back as Naruto’s rough tongue slid over his neck. He gasped as his pleasure heightened at the thought of Naruto piercing the thin skin of his neck.
“And what does dispelling it entail?” Naruto asked, letting go of Sasuke’s cock to lower his pants to the floor. They caught on the boots that Sasuke still wore, but Naruto ignored that, sliding his hand back up Sasuke’s leg and over his ass, lightly trailing a finger over the crack, but not forcing the cheeks apart. Sasuke shivered in his arms, arching his ass back the slightest bit, silently asking for it.
“We have to experience-ah!” Naruto’s hands had slipped up under his sweater, burning paths across his skin and running his claws over his nipples until they hardened. Naruto’s mouth returned to his neck and sucked at the skin, bringing blood to the surface but not piercing the skin. It almost frustrated Sasuke.
Naruto chuckled darkly as his hands moved lower again, softly caressing Sasuke’s whole body. “You have to experience what?” He pulled away from Sasuke, allowing him to catch his breath.
“We have to experience an overwhelming lust that can break the curse and allow our reproductive system to operate normally. It usually happens when a vampire has been around a few centuries. I expect Itachi to break his curse soon, a century or so early.” He’d heard his father talking about it once with their mother.
“Well,” Naruto said, bringing Sasuke close again. “I guess we’ll just have to make sure you outdo him by a few centuries, huh?”
“Naruto,” Sasuke breathed, meeting Naruto’s lips again for another passionate kiss. He wanted to pierce Naruto’s tongue again and taste that wonderful potion that made him almost giddy. Naruto pulled away again, and Sasuke wanted to scream his frustration, but it was only to pull Sasuke’s sweater over his head, leaving Sasuke almost completely naked. He narrowed his eyes when he saw Naruto still fully dressed, and he moved his hands to begin disrobing him. He quickly tore off the jacket, fiddled with the cravat, and was so impatient by the time he reached the shirt, he used his strength and just ripped it from the blond’s body.
“Hey! That costume was expensive, you know!”
“Shut up!” Sasuke grabbed Naruto’s shoulders, his claws digging into the blond’s skin, and brought him forward for another kiss. His hands moved down to Naruto’s hips and brought them into his, grinding against the blond’s hard dick and anticipating the moment when he could impale himself on it.
Naruto bit his lip in retaliation for the command, startling Sasuke with the sharp nip of pain. The other leaned forward and swiped his tongue over the little welling of blood. Sasuke’s knees almost buckled as lust and pleasure swept over him.
“Let’s move on,” Naruto purred. He pushed his body into Sasuke’s and maneuvered them backwards, until the cold end of a table hit just below his ass. He was forced to sit down on it, and then to lay backward. Naruto pulled Sasuke’s boots and pants off, then slipped out of his own pants and moved between Sasuke’s legs. His hot, hard dick pressed against Sasuke’s ass, and he rubbed it up and down slowly, teasing him and making him arch his back and moan at the heat.
“Oh, please, Naruto, just get on with it.” In answer, Naruto chuckled again and pressed his fingers to Sasuke’s lips, asking entrance. Sasuke opened his mouth and quickly sucked them in, wetting them quickly and eagerly, knowing their next destination. Then Naruto pulled them out and reached between Sasuke’s legs, pushing between Sasuke’s cheeks and rubbing over his anus. Naruto caught Sasuke’s eye and stuck out his tongue, deliberately sliced it open on his own fang, and leaned forward to shove it in Sasuke’s mouth the same instant he shoved a finger inside his body.
Sasuke wanted to cry out in pleasure, but that would mean letting go of Naruto’s tongue that he hungrily sucked at. He merely pushed himself onto Naruto’s finger, silently begging for the other ones. Naruto quickly answered, stretching Sasuke efficiently while still feeding him. But he soon pulled away, his hands coming to hold Sasuke’s hips as he lined his cock up to thrust inside. Sasuke welcomed the intrusion, calling out Naruto’s name as he was filled.
“Ah, you’re surprisingly warm inside,” Naruto said, leaning over Sasuke and kissing him breathless.
“I’m not dead, you idiot,” he said peevishly when he’d finally been released from Naruto’s kiss. He hit him on the shoulder. “Now, move!”
“Roger!” Naruto then began to pound into him ruthlessly, jarring the table and knocking down the candelabras on top of it. Sasuke gasped with each inward thrust, clawing at Naruto’s back, driven crazy by the scent of blood flowing from the scratches. Then Naruto angled his thrusts just right, hitting Sasuke’s prostate repeatedly, turning Sasuke’s gasps into cries of pleasure. He locked his ankles around Naruto’s legs, pulling the man closer, wanting him deeper. The intense pleasure made him hungry, and he pulled himself up, aiming for Naruto’s neck.
His fangs pierced Naruto’s skin, and blood rushed into his mouth, faster and thicker than the small trickle he’d gotten from Naruto’s tongue. He moaned loudly, fastening his lips tighter around the wound, sucking voraciously. Naruto only growled, but he couldn’t thrust inside Sasuke at that angle. His cock was harder than it had been, though, bigger, and the sensation was almost enough to make Sasuke release his hold on the other’s neck.
He was finally forced to when, with what sounded loud enough to Sasuke to be a roar, Naruto jostled him off his neck and picked him up from the table enough to slip Sasuke off, falling back into a chair. Naruto immediately started to fuck Sasuke again, and Sasuke wrapped his arms around Naruto’s neck to stay on top of him. Over and over Naruto’s cock pleasured him, but since he had yet to break his curse, he couldn’t come in the traditional way. The only way he could feel that ultimate pleasure was for Naruto to—
“AH!”
Naruto had bitten Sasuke’s neck, digging his fangs deep within his flesh. Sasuke was overloaded with pleasure, and his body convulsed in Naruto’s arms, the dry orgasm tearing through him almost viciously. His ass constricted around Naruto’s cock. Naruto growled again and dug his fangs in deeper. Sasuke felt the blond’s cock twitch inside him, could almost feel the warmth of his cum, and he willingly received it, Naruto’s mark, just as Naruto pulled more blood from him.
By the time Naruto released Sasuke’s neck, Sasuke was boneless in his arms, completely sated in every way. Naruto’s blood thrummed deep and warm in his veins, and his ass was sticky with Naruto’s cum. His own scent had been drowned by Naruto’s, and even in his current state, he could understand that by consummating this lust with a demon, he had been claimed. When he could move properly, he looked at Naruto, noticing the shadow whiskers had disappeared, and his eyes were once again blue.
He ran his hand through Naruto’s sweaty hair. “You’ve never had sex during your heat?”
Naruto shook his head, smiling tiredly. “Wasn’t really interested. But then I met you, and your scent drove me crazy.” He brought his hand up and brushed it along Sasuke’s neck, where his bite marks were already healed. “I can’t believe you’re a vampire. You don’t seem like one.”
Sasuke raised an eyebrow. “You’re the one that doesn’t seem like what he is. I can’t believe you’re a demon.”
“Half demon,” Naruto corrected absentmindedly. He shifted his hips, and his cock slipped out of Sasuke’s ass, along with most of his semen. Naruto looked down as it spilled on his thigh, and a blush spread along his cheeks and the bridge of his nose. He looked up at Sasuke and smiled sheepishly. “Ah, I guess, maybe we shouldn’t have done this. I think you and I just, um, mated.”
Sasuke smirked. “I know.”
Naruto blinked. “You’re not mad?”
“Hm, your blood is rather delicious. It wouldn’t be so bad to drink it for the rest of my life.” He leaned forward, his lips hovering over Naruto’s. “And that’s a very, very long period of time, Naruto.”
“Well, I guess that’s okay. I guess Dad wanted me to have a partner that would be able to keep up with me when I take over.” Naruto smiled as he patted Sasuke’s ass.
“Take over what?”
“The underworld. Dad can’t rule it forever.” With a smile and another pat to Sasuke’s ass, Naruto gentle stood Sasuke up and followed. He gave Sasuke a light peck on the lips, leaving behind the slightest taste of blood, before walking over to his discarded clothes. Sasuke was still replaying the last bit of the conversation over in his head.
“The… underworld?”
“Yep,” Naruto agreed easily.
“Your dad is…?”
“The devil.”
“And you are his son.”
Naruto hummed in agreement as he used his shredded shirt to wipe off his cum. Sasuke stared at him as he slipped on his pants and picked up his mask and jacket from the floor. Even in the moonlight, his blond hair and blue eyes, gold skin and sunny smile shone brilliantly, and Sasuke couldn’t possibly equate him with the King of Hell. But even more unbelievable was that one day this chipper idiot would be his lord and master.
Naruto turned around to look at Sasuke, who still stood motionless and naked by the chair. The moonlight glinted off his muscular body and visions of what had just transpired flitted through Sasuke’s head. He imagined what it would be like centuries from now, when his curse would be broken and Naruto would have the dark powers and appetites that came with maturity. He felt his blood surge with anticipation.
“Are you okay, Sasuke?”
“Oh, yes, Naruto,” he answered with a smirk and moved forward to take his pants that Naruto held out to him. “Never better.”
