Chapter 6, The Fifth
hand of Kyuubi
It was dark outside; at least that was what Naruto believed
it to be. He had been stuck down there for ten years now, and if he looked like
a ghost before, now he was almost dead. Normally a human would be unable to
move as just skin and bones, but Naruto had other ways to get around. Sitting
in a corner, Naruto knew that it was not long before they dispose of him. He
had heard talks about an ‘extraction’ and a new ‘specimen’. All of this was
just speculation, but it seemed much more serious than he had originally
thought.
He stood up from where he was. The restraints could no
longer hold him since his arms slipped right out of the handle since they were
so thin. He walked over towards the door; it was the only source of light in
the room. He peered under the door; trying to see the outside… unfortunately
all he saw was a darkened walkway, the only way out. ‘Soon they’ll come for
me… that is when I’ll kill them.’
He knew that lately the Akatsuki had been recruiting new
members. At the beginning only one person came to feed him. That one was found
out to be Sasori of the red sands. In time, they began to recruit younger and
less dangerous men, just to beef up security. Normally this would be bad, but
Naruto knew he could take down any of the soldiers besides the top nine…
Two years ago, a new person joined the ranks of the
Akatsuki. Naruto had been told that his name was Uchiha Itachi. They told him
only the names of the people that he could not kill even if he tried just out
of spite. Naruto saw that about that time there was someone who left the
organization. He knew him briefly, a snake by the name of Orochimaru. He also
knew that he left something behind… or rather someone.
To tell the truth, she was still the reason he was still
holding on. He would have died long ago if it were not for that one person… the
one person that acknowledged him. He didn’t care for her, but … he was going to
prove it to her… that he existed, just so she could never forget him. He leaned
up against the side of the wall as he heard someone approach, he was weary… but
he was ready also.
“Naruto-kun?”
‘Shit!’
The lights turned on as one of the nine stepped in the room.
He could not abandon his plan this far into it. As the person stepped forward,
it was seen to be Deidra. The stone nin looked around, trying to find the
person that he was currently looking for, and was ready to give him his food.
“Gone?” he muttered to himself, and dropped the food in his hand. “T-That’s
impossible, how could he have escaped?”
His eyes widened as the door slammed shut behind him. He
turned around in a flash to see Naruto standing between him and the way out. He
was now trapped… in his domain. “N-Naruto-kun…” he said softly, taking a
step back, but reaching into his back pocket to mold some clay.
“This is the end… I won’t be used anymore.”
His head was down since his neck could hardly support his
four-pound skull. His hair was filthy to say the least, and was very, very
long. His eyes showed signs of wear as he struggled to even stay standing.
Deidra probably wouldn’t be so scared if he didn’t already know about how
strong Naruto really was. He finished molding a clay crane and sent it towards
Naruto, but only having it blow up five feet in front of him. “What?”
As Deidra looked on he saw that the air around Naruto was
‘moving’ in a way. He grunted and reached behind him again, but had a feeling
it wouldn’t help anything. “An absolute defense, how did you develop that
without having us notice?”
“You human fools are so gullible, I’ve had it up all along,
and you’ve never even noticed…”
“Damn you!” Deidra sent another clay crane towards Naruto,
only to have the same effect. One could say that he was the worse possible
match up for Naruto. “I guess you want revenge right, why else would you trap
me in here like this?”
“You didn’t do anything to me… I want the man in the lead
and that flytrap freak,” Naruto said. His voice was absolute and he spoke with
only one emotion… anger. Deidra was slightly satisfied that he was not after
his skin, but still he could not just take him to the leader, he would still be
killed.
“I can’t take you there…”
“Wrong answer,” Naruto said. In an instant, four hands of
red chakra wrapped themselves around Deidra’s arms and legs. He was a bit scared,
but he remembered that four was his limit. Even though the holds were tight, he
knew he could not get any tighter, and should he move, he would be able to get
free. “I’m sure you think you know everything about me,” Naruto said coldly,
“even now I bet you’ve seen all I can do.”
Deidra’s eyes became saucers as a fifth hand of red chakra
came towards his chest. He tried to struggle, tried to get free, but the hand
imbedded itself in Deidra’s chest, teasing to explode his heart. In his last
instants on earth, Deidra saw the most bewitching, evil thing… a smile on
Naruto’s face. It widened every passing millisecond, and as the hand ripped him
in half, the last image imprinted into his brain was that grin, a grin that
followed him to death.
“I guess I’ll just worry about getting out, and then my
revenge…” Naruto said as he dropped Deidra’s corpse on the ground and turned
around to walk out of the complex.

“Hey why don’t you let me out? Orochimaru left me here two
years ago dammit!”
Zetsu looked over towards his prisoner. She was sitting in a
cage on the far side of his room since she was in his custody. “Listen girlie,
you better thank me, because should I have not saved you, you would be doing
the same thing you did with Orochimaru with some guy like Sasori, is that what
you want?” Anko thought about it for a second, but then got shivers as she thought
about it.
“I guess you’re right… but why do you have me wearing this?”
Zetsu looked down and growled slightly as he saw that she was still in the
black two-piece swimsuit that he found in the last town he went to.
“Hey it was short notice and I needed to conserve my money
so before I joined the Akatsuki I bought that for my girlf… Never mind!” He
added the end harshly as if he had let something miss. Sighing he leaned back
over towards the desk and sighed, closing the flytrap over his head. “Just leave
me alone and get some sleep, it’s already past midnight.” He added roughly as
he tried to go to sleep.
Anko sat back towards the edge of the wall. She was not used
to being confined, especially in such a small cage. She always wanted someone
to talk to, since when she was trying to think her mind wandered into just what
had been happening to her over the past few years. No doubt she had been
branded as a missing nin for being gone for so long, Even though she could
predict that the Hokage gave them hell to keep them from doing it.
“Hokage-sama… I wish I could tell you where I was…” she
muttered softly.
She dragged her finger across the cave floor. Unlike
Orochimaru’s room, this one was only furnished with the essentials, a desk, and
a bathroom. This member of Akatsuki was rather plain and uninteresting; besides
the new fact about how he acquired the bathing suit she was wearing currently.
It had been ten years… everyone had always raved about how
quickly time passes, well not for her. It felt like an eternity since she had
seen the outside world, and truth be told, she didn’t like it one bit. Her skin
had started to become pale; she would need to get to the sun soon.
More often than that though, her thought’s drifted to a
young little boy. She had met him ten years ago, chased after him when he left,
and now… got captured and sharing punishment with him. ‘What kind of person
has he become?’ She wasn’t sure if he was even still alive, but thinking of
him somehow gave her strength. She looked around to see Zetsu was already
snoring, but she couldn’t just break out…
There were sounds in the distance. She couldn’t really make
out what it was, but something was definitely happening. It wounded like the
walls were being hit by something, but she couldn’t be sure. All of the sounds
started to get louder, as cracks started to form around the corners and edges.
She looked over to Zetsu, who was still currently sleeping and unaffected by
the noises, and smirked. The banging got louder, and so did the cracks, since
the cage she was in was also attached to the wall, it was just a matter of time
before she could get out… all she had to do was hope that the bashing
continued, and that Zetsu stayed asleep.
The bashing didn’t get louder, but the impacts got more
brutal. The cracks reached the metal of the cage bar and started to work on it.
Anko smiled as she realized that she might just be able to get out and be free.
It came to the point where the metal was actually bending and twisting from the
impact. What was surprising was that the lock actually forced itself open,
making Anko smile widely.
After checking to make sure that Zetsu was not watching,
Anko bolted out of the room and opened the door, closing it tightly behind her.
“Heheheh….”
Zetsu’s flytrap opened up soon afterwards. He was smirking
at the door, and twirling a small vial in his hand. “Wherever you go, I’ll find
you.”

“Uaaaah!”
Naruto slaughtered another Akatsuki guard. Around him was
the corpses of many lower ranked Akatsuki members, each killed in a brutal sort
of way. He had smashed a couple on the wall, the ceiling, hell even a few he
cut completely in half. “These fools don’t realizing a thing…” he started
walking forward, all he could hope was that he didn’t run into one of the nine
main members. Hopefully he could get out of the place with minimal trouble.
“Hold it!” Two more guards stood in front of Naruto; both
had a number of kunai into their hands and tossed them at Naruto. He grunted in
annoyance and watched as the kunai bounced off of his shield with no trouble at
all. Their eyes widened in shock and horror but Naruto didn’t even give them
time to run as he jumped forward and landed shakily between the two guards,
extending his psychic barrier and crushing them against the wall.
More guards swarmed around him, taking turns throwing
projectiles at him. Each hit was making him even more annoyed as they bounced
off without doing any damage. “When will you learn that those won’t work!”
Naruto swiped his hand behind him, launching a field of red chakra horizontally
parallel to the ground. The field cut the guards at their waists, making them
fall forward and letting Naruto send another wave of red chakra to cut the rest
of them to pieces.
“A-A Monster!”
They tried to run but Naruto just smiled as he formed
javelins of red chakra and sent them barreling towards the guards, each one
stabbed the guard through the heart, making them cry out in pain before falling
to the ground as a corpse. “Too easy…”
His luck had been unusually good, as he hadn’t had an
encounter with the nine major members outside the one he just killed. Naruto
continued walking, his bare feet picking up the blood of the fallen, creating
bloody footprints as he walked along the corridor. “This is just a taste,” he
said, smiling widely as he continued walking along, ready for the next person
to kill.
He rounded a corner as soon as a door opened up and stopped
in his tracks. He looked up as best he could to see a purple haired woman
wearing a… bathing suit? He blinked for a minute to make sure he was actually
seeing what he was really seeing, and sure enough… it was the very same person
that he had been thinking about, and surviving for. He narrowed his eyes and
stood still for a moment as she started to look over to him.
Her eyes widened as she saw the sorry state that he was in.
All skin and bones, wearing just a small pair of shorts that could only be
described as ‘large boxers’ and a raggy tank top that was torn in various
places. His skin dirty, his stomach howling, and his hair oily and long. He
looked like he was ready to die, and she knew exactly who to blame for it. ‘W-What
have they done to him?’
“It’s you, isn’t it?”
“W-What?”
“You’re the one that I remember…from ten years ago,” Naruto
said.
“You’re really Naruto… aren’t you?” Anko replied. In
addition to his awful state of being, she could only imagine how his
personality had changed… but she convinced herself that it could be worse… he
could be dead after all.
“You are the only one.”
“What?” Anko asked.
“The only one… that I won’t kill,” Naruto replied coldly.
Before she could speak again, a hand made of red chakra sped
past her face, going ever so close to cutting her. She looked back to see that
it was inside a guard’s chest, and after it pulled back, the guard fell to the
ground dead. “N-Naruto-kun…”
“I’ll never be used… again.”
He turned around and went back to the main corridor. Anko
knew that he was now her only way out, and she couldn’t very well leave him
alone right? She started to run and catch up with him. She wanted to get out,
but she was also fairly happy that Naruto was still alive… she could worry
about the details another time.
The two made it all the way to the exit, and forced it open.
Even with Naruto’s psychic powers, the giant boulder blocking the exit was hard
to remove, and with the seal it didn’t make it any easier. After the boulder
was removed, the two walked out and felt the cool night air on their faces…
something that they had not felt in such a long time. “I will come back for revenge…”
“Revenge will only destroy you Naruto-kun.”
“I don’t care,” Naruto said.
She looked over to him, convinced that this couldn’t be the
same Naruto that she had tried to be friends with. He was something evil…
something that was turned and warped by unforgivable measures… just for that,
she could forgive him. “I… need to rest.”
“Huh?”
Before he answered, she got her answer. He fell forward; the
strain from the escape had gotten to him. She grasped him in her arms and put
him over her back. She was weak as well, but only in the two years, before she
was able to train fairly well. She jumped off of the mountainside, ready to get
out of there as quickly as possible. But one thing was still bothering her, she
was sure the Akatsuki could have stopped them, so it didn’t make much sense
that they didn’t meet up with any main members at the exit.
“How many dead?” the leader asked, looking out of the edge
of the mountain.
“The only ones still alive are us, Deidra was killed by the
Kyuubi,” Sasori spoke up. He was sitting on a rock near the leader, looking
over the side of the mountain, ready to go after them if the leader instructed
it.
“Why aren’t you ordering us to fetch him?” another voice
asked. The two looked back to see Uchiha Itachi, their new member, walk up
towards them. He was still a young member, and did not understand what he was
thinking in letting them go.
“Itachi, you know nothing about me… I want to face the
Kyuubi when he is at full power, ten years of torture let him have the utmost
hatred towards me… somewhat like what you did to little Sasuke… we want the
same thing, and one day… he will get it,” the leader said with a grin.
“I see…”

Anko wasn’t exactly sure what direction she was going.
Currently she was moving fast and in the opposite direction of where she
escaped. The woods started to get smaller and smaller as minutes passed. The
thicker part of the forest was gone, and she was starting to get in clearer
woodlands. “I can’t believe this, ten years gone and I just find Naruto again.”
She was secretly excited, but what Naruto said troubled her… a lot.
She stopped in the middle of an oasis. Water was around a
small little island. She lightly set Naruto down on the bank and got some water
in her hands. She quickly went back over to Naruto’s open mouth and poured it
in, trying to get something in his system. His stomach grumbled from the
sustenance, but wanted more. She repeated the process as best she could but
that wasn’t enough, she needed something more… food.
Looking around, she could probably find something in these
woods, at least for her and Naruto. She stood up and turned around but a kunai
imbedded itself in front of her. ‘Shit did they follow us all the way here?’
She grabbed the kunai out of the ground and got into a fighting stance, ready
to take on anyone she saw. She certainly heard some ruffling but nothing that
seemed to dangerous… but then again something did throw that kunai.
“Who the hell are you?”
Anko turned around quickly. In the treetops was a boy about
Naruto’s age. He had silver, spiky hair going up and to the right, and then
downward on the end of his head. He wore a simple black body suit that
contoured to his body perfectly. A mask covered his lower face, and around the
right side of his waist a katana hung loosely. “Are you a enemy?” It was then
that she noticed the hidden cloud symbol on the belt of his outfit.
“A hidden cloud ninja?”
“Yeah, I assume you are a ninja as well right?”
Anko narrowed her eyes and held up the kunai. He blinked a
few times before bursting out laughing. “What are you going to do with that?
Try to hurt me?” She narrowed her eyes and tossed the kunai at the ninja. She
started to become a bit nervous when the ninja did nothing to defend himself,
but her eyes widened after the kunai bounced off of a hidden shield around him
like nothing. “W-What?”
“It’s an absolute defense I have…”
She knew that this guy was more than he looked like,
something about him reminded her of Naruto… but who was he?
