Naruto walked along the rows and rows of dog kennels, dogs of all sizes and breeds came out to greet him, he smiled softly kneeling down in front of one cage and smiled petting a small white puppy, he giggled when the puppy nipped at his fingers, he hoped all the dogs would find good homes and families to go home to, but if they didn’t, Kiba’s rescue was probably the best place for them, the dogs had their own homes they had small yards to themselves, some had pen mates they stayed with if they got lonely, they had endless amounts of attention from volunteers, and workers, and of course Kiba would always spend as much time with the dogs as possible, Naruto smiled walking off again, he smiled seeing one of the kennels littered with signs ‘beware dog’ ‘do not enter’ ‘authorized personal only’ Naruto smiled shaking his head opening the cage, Kakashi snarled darting out from the house barking and snapping his teeth, he stopped seeing the blonde and sat down frowning, the only person in the world who didn’t fear him, deep down he actually missed the kid, he missed the pets, but he would never let anyone else touch him
“Hey ‘kashi, ready to get outta here?” Kakashi shifted walking over to the blonde sniffing him, he smelt different, the same but, not as happy, not as carefree, he smelt of a depression, Kakashi pawed at the boy’s leg before chewing on the fabric of the boy’s pants, his ears perked up hearing the faint giggle fro the boy, Kakashi’s tail twitched in happiness before lowering, he would not allow himself to be happy for a human, Naruto smiled clipping the leash onto Kakashi’s choke chain collar
“Holy shit Naruto.,… You said it could be done but.. I totally thought it was bullshit…” Naruto smiled at Kiba and chuckled petting Kakashi behind the ear
“He’s really not a mean dog… He’s just misunderstood” Kiba smiled sadly watching the blonde
“Its like two peas in a pod then right?” Naruto blinked then smiled standing up and holding the leash close
“Yea… Now step back I dun want him biting you while we get outta here” Kiba nodded and opened the gate standing behind it, he was still terrified of the silver demon dog, but the fence gate made him feel a bit better, Naruto walked towards his car with Kakashi, the dog got in and laid on the seat, he looked out the window and shifted wondering where he was going, he watched the blonde get in the driver side and start the car, the drive was silent, Kakashi looked at the blonde and then out the window
“Here we are…” Naruto pulled up to the large house and parked the car, he leaned in the seat closing his eyes
“Sasuke took Iruka today, so you can get to know the house before we gotta lock ya In your new room” Kakashi’s ear twitched as he listened to the blonde, but he just stared at the house, it was huge! Three stories tall had to have at least five maybe six bedrooms! Large white house with black trim and a fire place, Naruto got out of the car and walked over to the other side, he grabbed Kakashi’s leash and helped him out of the car, Kakashi let out a soft growl and stalked away from the blonde, he did not need help getting down, his injuries were healed, the two walked inside the house, Kakashi took in his surroundings, the house was a light brown color, with a set of stairs to the left of the entrance, the hall beside the stairs lead into the living room, two studies, and the kitchen, Naruto removed his shoes and smiled letting Kakashi go explore the house, as the silver dog ran up the stairs Naruto relaxed placing a hand on his head, he felt dizzy, and sick to his stomach, he’d eaten a huge breakfast and puked most of it back up, he rubbed his eyes sighing, he really didn’t want to go to the doctors but he’d have to soon, because if Sasuke caught him being sick, Naruto would be dragged to a hospital kicking and screaming.
Naruto stood and walked away from his door, cursing softly when he hear the small knocking, he looked at the stairs and relaxed, seemed Kakashi didn’t hear the knocks, Naruto opened the door, his eyes darkening a bit
“What do you want?”
“Don’t be like that Naruto, we’re friends… Let me in” Naruto glared pushing the silver haired man back
“Kabuto, I told you to stay the fuck away from me after last time, you took advantage of me” Kabuto glared grabbing the blondes arm
“Naruto, you came on to me” He shoved the door open pushing the blonde in
“G-get out! I’ll get Iruka!” Kabuto laughed slamming the door shut behind him, he stalked towards the fearful blonde
“I KNOW Sasuke took Iruka, I saw Iruka at the shelter when I passed by” Naruto tensed his eyes going wide, everything slipped from his mind, except the memory of the attacks from his father, he stepped back tripping over the small step from the entrance to the hall, he fell on his back eyes going wider feeling the older man crawl over top of him, Naruto closed his eyes praying for it all to be over soon
Kakashi stepped out from the seventh bedroom his eyes wide, this place was huge! It was the biggest kennel he’d ever seen! And it smelt of dogs, but there was none! Kakashi picked up a chew toy and walked off hiding it under a bed, a small smirk formed on his lips, whoever the other dog was, he was going to have fun messing with its head
“G-get out! I’ll get Iruka” Kakashi frowned, that was the blondes voice, he was scared of something, Kakashi frowned walking to the door of the room, listening to the other voice mumble to the blonde, Kakashi frowned hearing the thump of the body hit the floor, he stalked out of the room peeking down the stairs, he rolled his eyes, the blonde had a lover, the silver haired man reeked of a heat, with plans to mate with the blonde, Kakashi turned to leave, and stopped, he smelt salt water, fear, shame, and he heard a sob, Kakashi growled turning around he jumped down the stairs landing a foot fro the blondes head, he snarled his eyes narrowing, Kakashi may not have liked people, but this blonde saved him, this human gave him the only good attention ever, this boy was not scared! Kakashi liked him not being scared, Kakashi snapped his teeth his back fur going up, the silver haired man slowly looked up on shock, his eyes going wide, he jumped to his feet running to the door, but Kakashi was faster, in a second the dogs teeth were tearing at the man’s leg, Kakashi continued to growl as he shook his head deepening the wounds on the man’s leg, the man kicked Kakashi sending the dog flying before making another escape to the door, Kakashi arose from his spot with the help of the blonde, Naruto had tears in his eyes
“Thank you Kakashi” He said softly, Kakashi felt his pink nose turn red, he shifted looking away from the blonde glaring at the silver haired man, right before Kabuto grabbed the door, it swung open, the raven haired man looked at the scene in front of him and glared, Kabuto was one of Naruto’s many friends who’s taken advantage of the blonde, and hadn’t taken ‘no’ for an answer another time, Sasuke’s eyes darkened, he grabbed the silver haired man pulling him out of the house, Kakashi’s eyes went wide seeing the brown husky run into the house and towards Naruto licking the boy’s face, Kakashi was stiff as a board, his eyes never leaving the brown dog
He was the most beautiful creature Kakashi had EVER seen

Author notes: Wow was really gonna give up on this fic.. didn't realize how many people actually liked it lol! heres an update for you guys :)
