Thanks for all my faithful reviewers, old and new. I really appreciate all those who review and rate this story and I'm glad you guys are enjoying it. I have a new chapter for you guys and I'm glad you guys enjoyed my pen sketch; I'll try and get some more ones out. For now thought it's the question answer section. I'll answer as many as I can but if I didn't answer your question in this chapter I’ll definitely do it in the next chapter. Questions: Why didn't he kill Naruto when he had the occasion? - That memory that Naruto experienced is the truth of what happened and the reason why he didn't kill Naruto - whoever it was - is because Naruto didn't have enough power yet and Minato cast a barrier the moment Naruto looked up; he couldn't get to little Naruto. Can one absorb the Kyuubi's chakra after his death or is it just to eliminate the competition? - Good question; but no. The Kyuubi no Kitsune line had complete control over all five elements and killing one is like showing that you are stronger than all of the Deities. It's like a trophy for merciless demons; that's what they and why they are hunted. Because of rarity and powers, they can easily be made sex slaves if you manage to seal their will of fire. Gaara? - The mention of Gaara is just as a human; he's not a part of the Deities but he is a good friend of Naruto. Could Minato and Fugaku become mates like Sasuke and Naruto if Minato hadn't met Kushina? - Yes, they are in fact mates but the reason why they never claimed each other is because Jiraiya had to flee to the Human Realm to escape danger and took his son who was about fifteen at the time and Madara (Fugaku's father in the story) forbade any formal contract of marriage between them. Yes, they were very close; lovers in fact but they had to separate. Maybe I'll include a little more about their relationship in the next chapter. How can Sasuke handle all the pain going on in that house, especially with Naruto's pain and condition? - Sasuke is a bit stoic and broody; he can easily lock his emotions away when the time comes. Since Naruto is unconscious and probably will not be able to speak about what happened any time soon, will Sasuke be able to go into his mind and relay what happened to the others? - He doesn't need to Naruto is a fast healer and wakes up soon. Plus he does talk but yes, if he knows he would not tell until he gets Naruto's permission. --------------- Wow, all done. For now though; let's enjoy the new chapter. --------------------------- Naruto was surrounded in a cocoon of warmth; a small keen spilling from parted lips when Naruto shifted, nose nuzzling the soft pillow where he was resting his head. It felt so nice that he didn't want to move and even as he slowly came into consciousness again Naruto was distinctly aware of gentle fingers carding through his hair and the intense scent of cinnamon and sugar. Was his father making sweet pancakes again? He burrowed further into the warmth that spread around him; it was so warm, so calm and definitely the sweetest smell he had smelled in a long time. "Ngh." Naruto whimpered when his pillow shifted only to startle when his nose pressed against smooth flesh and the smell of brown sugar and cinnamon completely overwhelmed him; without knowing why Naruto pressed closer. Pink tongue peeking out to taste the silky flesh before him; blue eyes lidded behind thick, black lashes. Something in Naruto's stomach stirred as his tongue touched flesh and the scent and the taste on his tongue completely overwhelmed him. Naruto managed to get to his hands and knees, leaning over the person as blue eyes took in the sight but it still wasn't registering in his mind exactly what was happening as he leaned over; tongue tracing across a strong jaw line before he settled his lips against another pair. "Hmm." Naruto keened softly; they were soft, sweet and warm. Warmth curled in his belly and when Naruto opened his eyes and really looked at the person before him he didn't think he had ever seen anyone so beautiful before. The darkest of lashes, the palest of skin and deepest of black hair that is shimmered blue and the deepest of red eyes were staring at him with a smirk... "NANI!" A loud yell spilled from the breath Naruto had just pulled into his lungs. Pulling back violently as if he had been burned; Naruto managed to get several feet away from the person before a hand clamped around his ankle and the person pulled him back to the futon. The overwhelming scent still drifting in his nose and the delicious presence hovering above him. Naruto was trembling softly; fear assaulted his senses only to reel when strong arms pulled him against a chest and fingers buried in his blonde locks. Naruto was bewildered; there was a stranger in his bed and he had just done something unspeakable to someone he didn't even know. Wait why was there someone in his bed in the first place?! Why was he...? "Calm down Naruto; I'm not going to hurt you." That voice, Naruto had heard it before but his mind was so slow to process the information that he couldn't remember exactly who it belonged to and where he had heard it but as the person continued to whisper sweet nothings in his ear, Naruto unconsciously relaxed in warm arms and his heart beat slowed down enough that his mind was able to take in exactly what had occurred over the last few days. He remembered; images dancing in front of his eyes of his father with nine fox tails and ears and turquoise light; then Sasuke. Uchiha Sasuke; sure enough he could feel cat ears twitching against his cheek. And blue eyes watched over Sasuke's shoulder as a cat tail swished behind Sasuke and the sound of a bell invaded his hearing. "Sa-su-ke?" Naruto whispered uncertainly; pulling away from the embrace. Sure enough his eyes were not deceiving him and he could see cat ears twitching on Sasuke's head and the tail that swished behind him. Naruto's mind was spinning; those stories that his father used to tell him as a child with fantastical creatures of human and Deity origins were real. Naruto clenched his eyes shut. No; he was losing his mind. It couldn't be real; but Tou-chan was one too... "Naruto! Look at me!" Naruto started; blue eyes snapping up. Flinching back when Sasuke came to close. His heart lodged in his throat as his breathing picked up; he was panicking and he knew it was affecting him badly. He could hardly take a single breath without pain lancing up his spine; everything was too overwhelming. Too much. What his father told him all these years he thought was fantasy was real and he... If Tou-Chan was a Kitsune Deity; then what did it make him? What was going on? Naruto couldn't breathe, the walls were closing in around him and a hand of ice encircled his heart. What he had dreamed to be as a child was real? Naruto felt a new sense of fear and confusion spill across him. His vision was swimming in and out of focus but as he lifted his hand to see if Sasuke was an illusion; his fingers made contact with a solid chest; proving to him that this was no longer a dream and utterly, completely real. "NARUTO!" Naruto snapped up at the loud yell; blinking as Sasuke beckoned him forward. The sound of the bell's constant ringing was hypnotizing to him and when Naruto's eyes locked with distinctive red eyes; he saw distinctive three tamoes spinning hypnotizing revolution after hypnotizing revolution; drawing him in and making his sudden fear and distress fade completely. "Take deep breaths Naruto and calm down; I know this is hard to take in so let's take this somewhere a little less distracting." Naruto nodded; blue watching fascinated as Sasuke's eyes changed to a completely different star like pattern of black on red and then the click of a finger and Naruto found everything changed around him... ~ The place Naruto found himself in was completely different from the world he knew; it was night and the silver moon illuminated a hill he was sitting on. Sasuke was sitting next to him and a breeze flitted across his skin; it smelled sweet. Like Sasuke; heady and calming. Naruto's body moved by itself as he leaned against the shoulder he was being offered. His mind finally felt calm and logical thought was slowly but surely returning to him but with it came the darkness that enclosed his heart and the sorrow that he finally remembered what had happened. "You calm yet Dobe?" Sasuke voice purred and Naruto opened blue eyes; tears dripping down his cheeks as cried silently but calmly. "Where are we?" "I pulled you into my mindscape before you had a panic attack and started screaming. I didn't want to wake your grandfather; he needs his rest. He just found out his son is dead and you were there to witness it and..." "I remember." Naruto said to Sasuke; the weight pressing on his chest becoming unbearable. He needed to tell someone before it was going to kill him. Those words Sasuke said; they were hard to hear and still slightly confusing to him but it also made him remember what he saw. Causing him to whimper softly; fingers fisting into a dark blue yukata. Simply wanting to forget everything he saw but Naruto also had this strange urge tell Sasuke what he saw. The only question was could he trust Sasuke? Tou-chan had always told him to trust the Uchiha's; they may be bastards and have big egos but they would never let their charges down no matter the situation. "You remember what Naruto?" Naruto was dragged from his turmoiled thoughts when Sasuke's gentle voice invaded his hearing. Slowly coaxing him to spill even his deepest secrets; Naruto whined softly. Trying to hold back his distress but the comforting purrs that Sasuke made, made Naruto relent; trusting Sasuke with his secrets and in turn also trusting what his father told him. The gentle breeze was swirling around them in a comforting pattern and it was suddenly cold against his skin; Naruto shivered before pressing closer to Sasuke's intoxicating warmth. Something in that moment changed Naruto's heart and he felt at ease with himself and in the presence of this other worldly being. Naruto couldn't explain it but he needed the reassurance that he wasn't alone anymore and that someone was willing to be with him whilst he dwelled in the darkness of his heart and sorrow of his soul. ~ To say Sasuke was surprised when he was woken by Naruto in such an intimate manner was an understatement. He had to bite back several moans of pleasure as his limits to his self control was tested; never had he expected to get a taste of soft lips and a pink tongue so soon. Naruto's reaction to his action had been amusing; he never knew Naruto could look so cute with flushed cheeks, big eyes and parted pink lips as he yelled his surprise. Sasuke could still remember the beauty of that expression but as he looked at Naruto's sleeping form now; stroking through blonde hair softly. He felt his heart reach out for the little blond Kitsune; what he had just heard had his mind reeling. He had been correct in assuming that Naruto had witnessed his father's death but to the gruesome details he described, Sasuke felt that he needed to get Naruto out of the Human Realm as quickly as possible. "I don't know what to do." Sasuke admitted softly; fingers running through his black bangs as Mangekyou Sharingan eyes took in Naruto's form curled up to his. The wind in his mindscape was getting more persistent and Sasuke knew that it was a premonition of foreboding; to Naruto the wind would have felt normal but to Sasuke he could hear the whisper of several lost souls as they begged for help. His ears twitched in annoyance; he could no longer hide his own distress. Little Naruto, how much did his master have to live through before he was able to see a single ray of light? Sasuke wasn't stupid; Naruto was still distressed. To such a traumatized state that he struggled to focus on reality around him - instead reliving the night where cruelty` and murder stained his pure soul. Yet, to Sasuke Naruto's soul was pure, his scent was strong and his chakra was warm and loving; there was no hate only deep love. The light outshined the sorrow that Naruto lived through and that alone was an indication to Sasuke just how strong Naruto's will was and that given time; he would be back to himself. It would take patience, unconditional love and understanding. Understanding that Sasuke could offer; his mother had also been killed and that was the bonding point for them but Sasuke knew he had to get Naruto out of the Human Realm. It was too dangerous for him here and the Heavenly Realm could protect him better; as much as he hated to admit it. Sasuke knew he was going to need Itachi's gentle soul for Naruto's healing as well. There were just some things that his warrior soul could not understand well and that was sympathy and empathy and he might end up hurting his Dobe; Itachi on the other hand. He was much more experienced with the human psyche and even understood how grief affected different personality types and looking at his Dobe; Sasuke knew that his personality was completely opposite to Naruto's. "Naruto; wake up." Sasuke said softly; it was time they returned to the reality. He could feel the strong chakra of Jiraiya not far away from his consciousness and he knew that Naruto also needed family to be with him. Sharingan eyes watching as blue eyes opened blearily; they were the colour of azure skies on a cloudless day and within the depths of the pupils, Sasuke could see an ocean of turmoiled emotions. Placing a kiss on a tanned forehead he released his technique; the sun streamed in from the open window and the brightness of it made Sasuke wince. Clenching his eyes shut as he dispelled his Sharingan; using Mangekyou Sharingan in the Human Realm had nearly drained him of all his chakra and his vision was swimming in and out of focus. "Sasuke?" Black eyes blinked open to stare into concerned blue; giving a smirk and watching as petal pink lips formed a pout and arms crossed haughtily over a pyjama clad chest. A deep chuckle spilled from his throat; Naruto wasn't even aware of how cute he was and nor was he aware of the effects it was having on Sasuke. "Teme." Oh no; Naruto had not just said that. He was surprised at how fast Naruto had calmed around his presence but then again he was a Kyuubi Deity and may have felt comfortable around other Deities. Being used to his father's and grandfather's presence that always were a part of his heritage. Now though he could see the legendary rivalry already beginning. The Namikaze - Uchiha rivalry; wait that combination sounded nice. Namikaze - Uchiha Naruto; Sasuke was deep in a day dream. Only with another smirk Sasuke had decided that he would make Naruto his. With his tail swaying behind him; he also crossed his arms over his chest and loomed over Naruto's smaller frame. "Very original; Do-be." Sasuke dragged out; smirking as Naruto's face coloured red in his anger and delicate hands fisted against his side. "Shut up! Teme! Who are you calling dead last?!" "Obviously you, Usuratonkachi. Do I need to spell out for you?" Sasuke asked, not really surprised when Naruto's fingers fisted in his shirt and pulled him forward; obviously overcompensating his strength and causing them to collide - lips meshed together in an accidental kiss. Both froze at the intimate contact; electricity passing between them. Sasuke nearly chocked; the sudden spark in arousal shooting up his spine as he watched Naruto submit to him. A growl resounded deep in his throat; he tilted his head - black eyes lidded behind long black eyelashes as Naruto responded to his touch. The sensual slide of soft lips against each other; heat building between them slowly... "Naruto! No kissing the Neko Deity in front of your grandfather!" A voice sing songed as the shoji door slid open and a light hearted presence stepped inside the room. ---------------------------- "Naruto you can stop blushing now; it's only natural for a Namikaze and Uchiha to kiss on their first meeting." Jiraiya said dismissively; waving his hand as he laughed internally at the expression that Naruto made. He hadn't seen a Namikaze turn so red in a long time; Naruto looked adorable flushed and flustered. When he had opened the shoji door he had been surprised to catch the Uchiha and Naruto in a passionate kiss - so caught up in their kiss that they had barely noticed his presence. He chuckled now; a memory flashing before his eyes. "I can still remember when Minato came running to me in tears when Fugaku stole his first kiss and nearly marked him as his mate." Jiraiya's voice was nostalgic and Naruto looked up to his grandfather's openly smiling features. Deep in those dark eyes Naruto could see the immense pain swirling in their depths. He felt cold and unstable since Sasuke had left to prepare breakfast with Uncle Kashi; leaving just him and Jiji-chan. Those dark eyes were a reflection of his own turmoiled soul. Did Jiji-chan know what he saw that night? Naruto shook his head; clearing his turmoiled thoughts as he recalled what his grandfather had just told him. A chuckle spilling from his lips; he couldn't imagine Tou-chan crying because he was kissed by a boy... "Fugaku?" Naruto asked eventually; intrigued at the name. He could have sworn he had heard it somewhere before. Blue eyes blinked owlishly; observing quietly when Jiji-chan started laughing heartily; tears of sorrow and mirth forming in the corner of his eyes. In that single moment Naruto knew something in the air had changed. Light-hearted laughter was replaced by solemn silence. Reflection, remorse and regret stained the air. Their emotions were resonating between them; it was the spark that ignited their mutual sorrow. A flame of grief passed between them and a mutual understanding silence. How long they stayed like that; gauging each other's reactions was nerve wrecking for Naruto but it was his grandfather that finally broke the tension. "Sasuke's father." His grandfather finally answered the question he had asked nearly ten minutes ago. Jiji-chan's voice was uncommonly gentle and also filled with a tangible pain. How such a simple conversation could turn so painful so fast Naruto would never know but the shared sorrow made the weight on his heart lessen a bit. Tears built steadily in the corner of his eyes and when his grandfather opened his arms in an invitation for an embrace. Naruto launched himself forward without second thought; allowing Jiji-chan's scent to spread around him and offer him the comfort he craved from his second father figure. The smell of tobacco smoke, autumn winds and wild herbs invaded his lungs and brought with it memories of happier times, warm afternoons and time spent in the summer sun. Sharing ice cream and laughing as Naruto took the blame for his grandfather's perverted behaviour. Well that was more of Jiji-chan's laughter than his... "There's a lot we need to discuss Naru-chan and we also need to release your seal and get you away from here; it’s dangerous. Your seal is leaking and it may have been what attracted your father's murderers." Naruto was utterly bewildered by those words but what his grandfather had just said sounded a lot like he had caused his father's murder. Naruto pushed that piece of information into the back of his mind; filing it away for his bout of self-blame later. It was a reference he could use; straight from his grandfather's mouth. "Jiji-chan what are you talking about?" Naruto questioned; he didn't like what Ero-Sennin was saying either. Confusion washed through him as fear encircled his heart in a fist of ice. Something about the emotional understanding between them snapped as guilt descended on Naruto's heart. Making it difficult for him to understand and comprehend just what Jiji-chan was trying to say. "Naruto; have you read your father's book Heavenly Realm?" Naruto nodded; of course he had it was his favourite book. It should be obvious to Ero-Sennin; he was the one who gave it to him for his sixth birthday and Tou-chan then read it to him every night until he went to sleep. He had begged his father to read it to him over and over again; desperate to hear the wonderful fantasy story of a realm where magic and shinobi mixed. ~ "Are you ready for a story Naruto? Jiji-chan gave it to you today and I wrote it for you when you were still in Kaa-chan's stomach." Six-year-old Naruto clung to his father's hand; steam spilling from the bathroom. Kaa-chan had given him a warm bath before telling him to go say goodnight to his Tou-chan who was going to read him a story. Jiji-chan had come to spend the day with him and said his tanjo-bi was special and that the big book he had given him was very important. "Tou-chan?" "Hmm?" "Where why didn't Jiji-chan stay?" Naruto asked innocently before bursting into giggles when his father tickled him before pulling the covers over his body. "Jiji-chan loves us very much but he had some things to do. Let's forget about Jiji-chan for the moment. How about I read you a good story?" Naruto nodded enthusiastically; he liked it when Tou-chan read him stories and even when Gaara said he was acting like a child but he didn't care. Tou-chan always read him good stories. "Let's see: The Human Realm begun with the darkness of hell's black fires and will end so one day. It was the flames of rebirth; sweeping across the Heavenly Realm's planes and with it brought peace upon the five warring countries of Fire, Earth, Wind, Water and Lighting. One Deity wanted to create a world of light, love and peace; a place where souls could roam free and understand one another." "He was known as the Rikudo Sennin (1*); the leader of the deities and he also possessed the wings of a hawk. Rikudo Sennin only trusted two Deity Clan's to assist him in creating this new world; they were the Doujutsu (2*) users of the east - possessing the all powerful Sharingan and fanned the flames of hell with their Katon jutsu. The second was the Kyuubi Kitsune Clan from the northern wind country. Possessing nine fox tails - the tails an indication of the power they possessed. With the wave of a single tail: they could destroy mountains, create hurricanes and spread fierce thunder storms. The Kitsune clan was known as the Fuinjutsu sage masters of the Heavenly Realm and possessed something they referred to as the Will of Fire - the immense power to never give up, passed down from generation to generation ..." ~ "Well; everything is real. Chakra manipulation, Genjitsu, taijitsu, ninjitsu and fuinjitsu. The Uchiha's and most importantly Naruto; you are a part of the Kyuubi no Kitsune blood line. A distinguished clan that was once the founders of Konoha and the protection system of looking after the humans who dwell there; several shrines are dedicated to us and..." "Jiji-Chan? Do you have nine tails too?" Naruto asked suddenly; a detail from his memory of both his father's death and the story he wrote sticking in his mind. Naruto was having trouble paying attention to what his grandfather was telling him; it was too much information given to him at once. He was still trying to deal with the information that was overwhelming his mind. "I can see you are just like your father;" Jiraiya's chuckle brought Naruto to himself. Frowning at his grandfather's smug expression. "You need a physical demonstration before you can believe something or do it. I do have nine tails. Watch carefully; you are going to need to remember the hand seals." Naruto nodded; blue eyes watching as his grandfather's hand flashed through a series of complicated seals and a wave of warmth surrounded him and a blast of wind and smoke invaded his senses. The sudden appearance of smoke and wind brought a bout of fear to Naruto's stomach; it reminded him of the warmth of the fire technique that had been directed at his father... "NARUTO!" A familiar voice yelled as the shoji door slammed against the door frame; Naruto started when Sasuke jumped in front of him; katana drawn and kneeling in an offensive position. Ready for attack and black eyes observing the puff of smoke surrounding Jiji-chan. When the smoke started to clear Naruto shuddered heavily as Sasuke pulled him against a strong chest; shielded him completely from view. A low growl spilling from pale lips and his tail was puffed out in anger. Blue eyes noting the dome of dark blue light surrounding him and Sasuke from whatever it was that Sasuke deemed he be shielded from. "What the hell Teme! Jiji-chan was going to show me his tails!" Naruto shouted after a long tense silence; he had no idea what was going on. Watching with fascination as Sasuke's cheeks coloured a pale pink; so the ice bastard could blush? Dark eyes were averted to the floor as embarrassment rolled off the Uchiha in waves. The aura surrounding him was dark, possessive and made something in Naruto's stomach tighten as his breath hitched in his chest. "Sorry; I felt a surge of chakra and I thought you were in trouble." Naruto nodded softly; frowning. "I still don't understand." Naruto said; this situation was still too complicated for him. He bit his lip is frustration; his mind still reeling from all the information. "Anyways Usuratonkachi; don't just stand by as a person waves hand seals at you. It could be dangerous and cost you your life." "I agree with Sasuke." Jiraiya said and Naruto finally looked up; the smoke had finally cleared and before him stood his grandfather. Nine white fox tails swaying behind him and white fox ears atop of white hair. The tension in the room was heightened when Sasuke and Jiji-chan seemed to have a conversation without saying anything. Dark eyes locked together in contemplation and a completely different form of communication. "Sit; both of you. It's going to be a long morning." Both teens nodded; Naruto unconsciously creeping closer to Sasuke. Seeking the warmth and protection he felt from Sasuke's mere presence. ---------------------------------- 1* Rikudo Sennin - Sage of Six Paths 2* Doujutsu - Eye Techniques Thanks for reading; I hope you enjoyed the story I certainly enjoyed writing it.
