Minato started awake; a silent scream ripping from his lips. Dying before it could wake up those gathered around the camp. He shuddered; feeling cold and disorientated. Mind spinning with emotions and even fear. The dream he had just experienced was so painful, heartbreaking and made him want to purge the contents of his stomach. Such was the cruelty of that hatred; carefully and dazedly he managed to get to his feet. Stumbling slightly; a headache like none he had ever felt before burst behind his eyes. A small groan spilling from his lips as he tried to find his equilibrium again. Dazed blue eyes immediately searching for another blonde head; fear spiking through him. Naruto wasn't there.

'I'm going to check the perimeter.' Words of a mere hour ago invaded his mind. At least Naruto had told him where he had gone but Minato couldn't feel Naruto anywhere close to the perimeter in fact he began to panic the moment he felt Naruto nearly a kilometre away. Without second thought Minato took to the trees; his feet carrying him towards the small flash of chakra that Naruto gave off. He would not lose Naruto again; he needed to see his son again. He flickered through the trees; breath coming in pants as Naruto's presence became closer. Blood rushed in his ears as he pushed his body harder; a broken chuckle spilled from his lips. Naruto always seemed to push him to his limits; even if it was a simple chase in the forest.

'Naruto?' He send over their link. The come back was silent and Minato shivered; images from his dream flashing in front of his eyes. Blood; hatred, unnatural power and lightning and fire. A potent mix; emotions that ran high as a fight broke out that layered the biggest betrayal. Minato knew somehow that he had experienced Naruto's memory of the day he had fought his best friend; Sasuke. When he thought Naruto was torn up about it Minato didn't think he would be torn up too. His heart was heavy with the emotions Naruto shared with him. He struggled to keep himself from slipping in his emotional state.

The distinct sound of a waterfall caught his ears; he knew where he needed to be and carefully he jumped the last distance with a boost of chakra. His landing causing ripples to travel through the still lake. Blue eyes immediately finding Naruto; without stopping he moved. Water soaking through his pants as he kneeled beside Naruto. The blonde shinobi was soaked and balancing himself on the water as if it was solid ground with not a care in the world if he got soaked through.

'Naruto!' Minato yelled; fingers resting above Naruto's scar. The faint beat of a heart told him Naruto was still alive and the gentle rise and fall of his chest also attested to his breathing. There was still no response and Minato was beginning to panic; that was until he felt the whisper of calm across their link. Blue eyes dipped in a glaze of emotions captured calm golden and red rimmed eyes. He saw a small smile form on Naruto's lips; curving only slightly but it was enough to assure him that Naruto was still alright.

'Minato? What?' Those words sounded so confused and out of focus. But it was a response and for Minato that was all that mattered. Minato breathed a sigh of relief; leaning forward so that their hitai-ates rested against each other. Minato laid his hands on Naruto's cheeks; fingers gliding over the whisker like marks. His heart skipped a beat when Naruto leaned into the touch; golden eyes closing behind red eyelids.

'You had me worried; I thought you had disappeared back to your time period.' Minato for first time ever admitted his fears that burned through him every time he looked at Naruto; afraid that he would be taken away again. Gentle golden shot open; fear dancing in their depths. Petal pink lips opened in a strangled gasp; fingers fisting in his jounin vest. Desperately gripping the material; Minato toppled forward. He just managed to catch himself on his hands before he collided with Naruto painfully. Blue eyes widened as he saw those golden eyes shimmer in tears; emotions resonating between them openly.

'P-please don't ever think that. Please.' A desperate plea and Minato nodded; his heartbeat had heightened as he now balanced himself over Naruto. Completely aware of the intimate position that they were in but for the love of Kami he couldn't seem to care. Before he knew what was happening; Naruto leaned upwards. Their lips brushed against each others gently; emotions jumping between them in sparks of understanding and vulnerability. Moonlight bathed them in a silver light; the water was calm and serene. Adding to the perfect moment shared between them. Minato traced the seam of Naruto's lips with a gentle tongue and moaned at the small sound Naruto made. It was perfect; between a gasp and a growl. He didn't have much time to think as Naruto parted his mouth; a shy and inexperienced tongue gently and unsurely meeting his. Minato found Naruto's innocence endearing and gentle.

'Naruto?' Minato thought concerned; Naruto had just made a desperate little sound in the back of his throat. Naruto shifted; arms winding around Minato's neck and pulling him closer. Minato shivered as Naruto tilted his head; the change of the angle was causing sparks to alight behind his closed eyelids.

'F-feels. G-good.' Minato gave his response to that by pressing closer to Naruto; water now rippling around them as Minato pushed Naruto back onto the surface of the water. Carefully controlled chakra balancing his hands on the surface so that he did not loose his purchase. Naruto's tongue got more assured and bold and soon a fight for dominance sparked between them. Naruto was relentless and didn't give up; that he had definitely inherited from Minato. Minato chuckled lightly and promptly felt his thought fly out of his head as Naruto tugged at his hair and twined their tongues together in a sensual dance. Minato refused to submit though; there was no way he was going to give up. Unwittingly; one hand lifted from its purchase on the water and laid on Naruto's bare chest. He felt Naruto arch into the touch and smirked into the heated kiss. Tongues still battling for control but Minato shuddered; chakra coated fingertips trailed down Naruto's chest and came to rest against Naruto's belly button. The next thing that happened left them both reeling; simultaneous cries of pleasure echoing through two mindscapes.

'Fuck!' Both thought at the same time; breaking their heated kiss so that they could arch into the pleasure that coursed through their bodies. Light red dusted both whiskered and smooth cheeks alike; breaths mingling together. Foreheads resting together as Naruto and Minato struggled to regain their breaths and still wildly beating hearts. When their eyes finally opened it was to similar swirling emotions in two identical blue eyes. Minato chuckled; he had caused Naruto to loose control of his Sennin Chakra.

'S-s-orry.' Minato merely gave a smile and stroked Naruto's whiskered cheeks. A cheeky smile spreading across his lips.

'Don't be sorry; that was certainly interisting. Makes me wonder what other hot spots you have that can resonate so much pleasure.' Minato watched as Naruto's blush darkened and turned his head to the side; eyes half lidded as panting breaths sprang forth from parted lips. With a chuckle Minato laid forward; his forehead still resting against Naruto's as he covered his body over Naruto's. Warmth radiating between the two of them before he lifted his hand and twined it together with Naruto's.

The air was chilly and crisp and Naruto was getting tired; blue eyes closing slightly as he felt calm wash over him. Warmth was easily traded between him and Minato but the cold water was making him shiver. So with a squeeze to Minato's hand Naruto sat up; finding his balance on carefully controlled chakra he jumped to the rock where the rest of his clothes was and his scroll were. Minato was mere milliseconds behind him; blue eyes watching his every move as Naruto dressed. When he secured the scroll over his back he turned to face Minato but was stopped by arms imprisoning him from behind.

'We should get back Naruto.' Naruto nodded; turning in those arms as he placed a kiss on Minato's lips.

'Yup; Dattebayo. Let's get going before Fugaku decides to come look for us.' (Somewhere in the bushes not far from the Valley of The End resonated a sneeze.) Naruto frowned when he saw Minato look to the direction of the trees.

'What?'

'Nothing. I just thought I heard something.' Minato merely shrugged and Naruto nodded. Within seconds the two Namikaze's made their way towards the camp. Each jump they made from the tree to tree caused their hands to brush against each other's. When they moved only two yellow blurs could be seen and it didn't take them long until they reached the campsite. Two sets of feet landing mere centimetres away from each other; Naruto stumbled and winced when the ground came rushing towards him. Only to blink owlishly as arms wound around his waist and dragged him upwards. Saving him from an embarrassing fall.

'You okay?' Naruto gave a nod; leaning back against Minato's chest. A long breath leaving his lungs.

'Yup; just a bit dizzy.' Naruto wanted to protest but before he could he found himself in Minato's arms again; carried as if he was a bride. A blush decorating his nose; with the many times he had blushed in the last few minutes Naruto believed that he should have been passed out with all the blood that rushed to his head. Instead he found himself pressed onto Minato's bedroll with the elder Namikaze's weight settling over him. Concerned blue eyes swirled with several emotions that made Naruto's heart swelled. Never before had he seen someone show so much concern and love for him; the hated Jinchuuriki that deserved everything he got in the eyes of Konoha.

'Naruto; sleep. I'll be right here if you need me.' Naruto nodded; curling around the pillow as he rested his head in Minato's lap. He shifted to get comfortable; he didn't feel like getting up and removing his scroll so instead he managed to find a position that was comfortable for him and kept him close to Minato. Fingers carded through his hair as Minato kept petting him softly.

'I'll share the burdens you have taken upon yourself; Naru-chan. We'll come through this together, closer and more connected than ever before.' Those soft words whispering in his mind left him feeling warm and happy. He smiled sincerely, genuinely and mirrored the exact same expression as Minato. It would be their secret.

'Together then; Dattebayo.'

'Yes; together. Dattebayo.' Naruto chuckled but merely nuzzled his nose into Minato's thigh as he allowed calm and love to wash over him. Who thought that a simple 'Dattebayo' from Minato could light such dark emotions and burn them away? Only Naruto frowned when a brief flash of his memory of before raced before his eyes. He parted his mouth; a shaky breath spilling from him in a rush. Clenching his eyes shut so that tears formed at the corner of his eyes; he didn't want to think of the pain in that memory. Sasuke had meant so much to him only to have their lives tilt and turn upside down by a simple mistake...

'Naruto; please. Don't think about that. I saw everything; I know what happened. But you're no longer there; you're with me. Where I need you with me. Keep me grounded and I'll keep you grounded; we cannot be separated. Not again, never again.' A shaky sob and a single tear wiped away by the pad of a thumb left Naruto locking away those memories for a time when both of them had the strength to face them. He nodded against Minato's hand; causing fingers to slide over his whisker like marks, a small spark lilting between cheek and fingers. Naruto smiled; purring slightly as he nuzzled that hand. His eyelids were heavy and his mind smoky with exhaustion; Naruto knew it wouldn't take that long for him to fall into the oblivion of his dreams but he wanted a final kiss.

'Go to sleep Naruto.' Minato's voice echoed in Naruto's mind before a gentle kiss was placed on his forehead and moved to dust butterfly kisses on his closed eyelids and finally a lingering kiss on his lips. His heart fluttered in his chest pleasantly as Naruto felt his body heavy with sleep drift into the land where dreams were often filled with pain and hatred but for once it was blissfully empty and devoid of any dreams. Only a warmth that settled over him and curled around his stomach and seal blissfully. Leaving behind a feeling of completeness.

-----Earlier with Fugaku-----

The Uchiha heir brushed long bangs from his eyes; scowling. Watch duty was such a pain; he would rather have wanted to watch Naruto and Minato as they slept at camp; he just knew that the two of them would crawl into the same bedroll. Cute and vulnerable Naruto would curl next to gentle and strong Minato; chest to chest and forehead against forehead.

Fugaku cooed; that would have been just adorable. He shifted on his perch in a large tree; frowning when he felt Naruto's chakra signature move away from the camp. That could not be good; carefully masking his chakra he followed Naruto's chakra. It was bright, warm and at the same time tinged with sorrow and remorse. Such a potent mix of emotions that it made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up and he was about half a kilometre away from the youngest Namikaze. Naruto moved fast and Fugaku struggled to keep up and hide his presence at the same time. Finally Naruto seemed to come to a stop and Fugaku found spot in the bushes at the edge of body of water. Sharingan eyes following the sound of a waterfall; two large carved statues came into view. Following Naruto's line of sight Fugaku frowned when he saw the hate and sorrow filled glare directed at the statue of Uchiha Madara.

"What are you up to?" Fugaku asked softly to no one particular. Eyes widening when Naruto stepped over to a lone rock and laid his scroll on the surface before stripping to his bare chest. Tamoes spun faster; taking in the sight. It was so yummy; who knew such a delicate frame could look so strong and edible at the same time. He sucked in a breath; Sharingan eyes finding the large starburst scar on Naruto's chest. Damn; that was one hell of a scar. He wondered what could have caused it; the slight shimmer he saw there told him it was definitely caused by chakra but such a dark and cold chakra. It made him shudder; whoever had given cute Naruto that scar should not be alive. It must have hurt like hell.

A splash of water turned Fugaku's attention back to the present; he shifted. Naruto had just let go of his chakra control and fell in the lake. The moon casted enough light for Fugaku to see Naruto was not fighting the water and merely allowed it to surround him and drift over him. How long he observed Naruto as he stayed underwater Fugaku didn't know but just as he was about to leap forward and pull Naruto from the water; the younger Namikaze got onto the surface of the water again and merely laid down. He just stared at the beautiful sight before him; was it just him or was his pants getting slightly uncomfortable? He sighed; moving to the side as he felt Minato's chakra racing towards the same destination.

It seemed that the elder Namikaze had finally realized that his brother had been missing.

'This could be interisting.' Fugaku thought to himself. Sharingan eyes never leaving the sight before him. The slightly darker blonde hair of Minato shimmered in the moonlight as the Yellow Flash landed on the lake; causing small ripples to cascade over the water's surface. The waterfall's noise never stopping as Fugaku watched the scene unfolding before him. A silent conversation seemed to be exchanged and a look like none he had ever seen flitted across Minato's face. His breath hitched as the two Namikaze's leaned closer; blonde hair shimmering in the moonlight. He caught it; the perfect scene as a heated kiss was shared.

'Oh; fuck. Something as sexy as that had got to be illegal.' Fugaku moaned; adjusting his pants. The heat seemed to radiate off of the two Namikaze's as the kiss's intensity built. He had known that there was something between the two brothers but the sight was so tender and hot that gave him a straining erection and caused tears to build in his eyes. Minato was quite bold; his light blue chakra fingertips tracing Naruto's chest. Stopping at Naruto's navel; Fugaku sighed in pleasure as dark markings appeared on Naruto's stomach. Fugaku whined in disappointment as they pulled apart but what happened next had him nearly losing his balance and coming in his pants.

'Fuck; that was hot.' He could trace the rapture across both faces and both Namikaze's arched back; Minato's back bending and Naruto reaching upwards as a spark of something went through them. It was almost like watching a simultaneous orgasm that they shared and he felt his own face flush; he had never seen something more erotic than that. When he finally drifted from his erotic daydream of having the two brothers in his bed a loud sneeze ripped from him. At that he shifted; finding some difficulty in moving he leapt away with chakra aided movements. He couldn't be discovered; Minato would kill him and Fugaku didn't doubt Naruto would watch or even help eagerly if he was discovered.

"What the hell happened to you?!" Minato shouted as Fugaku finally came into the clearing; leaves and twigs haphazardly stuck in raven hair. His clothes were ruffled and crumpled; not to mention the little scrapes and bruises across pale skin. Minato frowned when he stared at the small suspicious spot of white on the Uchiha's pants. Choosing to ignore it; Minato shifted slightly and when Naruto whined he continued his petting of Naruto's golden hair.

"Well; you see I was sitting in this tree when there was a black cat and when it passed, the branch broke and took me with it..." Minato snorted.

"Yeah right Uchiha; I'll believe the day that you swear celibacy. Get some sleep; I've got the next watch." Minato watched wearily as Fugaku stumbled towards his bedroll; ironically next to his nephew's and fell asleep. He shook his head; Fugaku had definitely done something he wasn't supposed to do. A blush dusting his cheeks; he just hoped that Fugaku had caught sight of him and Naruto. If he had then that would explain the small stain he saw on Fugaku's pants.

'FUCK!' Minato yelled in his mind and started when he felt Naruto flinch and sit up; bleary blue eyes blinking rapidly to clear the bleariness of sleep.

'What Dattebayo?!' Naruto yelled back. He had been startled bad enough by Minato's shout that his heart had yet to still in his chest. Wiping at his eyes furiously to clear the sleepiness that gathered there.

'I'm sorry Naruto; I didn't mean to wake you.' Minato said guilty and Naruto shook his head to clear the fogginess that had settled across him mind. Fingers brushed against Minato's hand as he made himself comfortable again. Blue eyes closing again.

'What is it?' Naruto asked.

'I-I-I t-think Fugaku might have seen us.' Naruto stilled; blue eyes opening before narrowing dangerously. Blue eyes shimmered red; whisker marks deepening and red eyes slitted.

'He did, did he? Well; Kyuubi said he has dibs on the Uchiha's accursed eyes. Dattebayo' Minato gave a nervous chuckle and nodded but they would save their revenge for later. Minato leaned forward; kissing Naruto softly.

'Sleep Naruto; you're exhausted.' Naruto nodded; blue eyes slipping in behind creamy eyelids.

'You also need sleep Minato; lei next to me. I'm a light sleeper and I can sense chakras easily. I'll wake up if there is a disturbance at the perimeter.' Minato wanted to protest but before he could Naruto had moved; pulling his shoulders down and pushing him onto the bedroll. Curling up to his chest; a blonde head now resting on his chest.

'Sleep. Dattebayo!' Naruto said frustrated and Minato closed his eyes. He could not for the life of him understand why he couldn't deny that request...

Naruto shifted in his sleep; a presence lingering at the edge of his consciousness. When a rush of unfamiliar chakra washed over Naruto he sucked in a surprised breath. It wasn't anyone he knew and now it sent a spike of fear through him; he remembered the last time someone had sent a spike of chakra over him that he didn't know and it was one of his worst memories; coming a close third to Sasuke's betrayal. He shuddered; chakra coiling and rushing through his chakra pathways.

His hand shot out and in a single move of impressive frog-fu Naruto tumbled and pined the person to the ground next to his and Minato's bedroll. One of Minato's kunai resting against the neck of his attacker. Panic was the first emotions that registered in Naruto's mind and his heart was already beating erratically; adrenalin pumping through his veins. Blue eyes struggled to gain clarity and just as he was about let the kunai slip into the flesh of the person's neck he stopped; blue eyes finally focusing on the target. Black eyes behind orange goggles stared at him with absolute terror. Naruto drew back as if he had been burned. That fear; he was used to hate and cold eyes but fear, utter terror he had never seen. Those black eyes had held so much fear. It stung him harshly; his breath leaving him in a rush.

'Minato?!' Naruto's first thought was about his father; whose comfort he needed now but there was no response.

Blue eyes glinting in fear as he leapt away; feet carrying him away in a flash. Kyuubi was once again rearing his head and Naruto struggled to keep the fox from leaking too much chakra. Fear lanced through him; his feet carrying him towards a destination he had no idea of. He had killed Obito; fuck! What had possessed him to do that? Naruto never noticed the bright orange of his hair or the purple streaks that ran through his usually sunny blonde locks. All he knew was that he had to run; get away from the camp before something worse happened. Without knowing it Naruto's heart called for Minato in loud shrieks of fear and pain again and again. Clutching at his heart; it was beating too fast and he was hurting. Tumbling; Naruto crashed to the forest floor. Hands taking the brunt of the impact; several stone cutting into his hands but he barely noticed. Something in his body snapped and Naruto let it come; something strange washed through him. Pulling an immense amount of chakra to the surface Naruto allowed this new part of his mind to take over.

Hands flashing through several seals; where he got the combination he didn't know but as he backed up against a tree he felt a circle of chakra enclose him. Several spiked chains ripped through the tree and shot out from the ground; enclosing the space with an extra barrier. He was in the middle of the chakra barrier; head buried on his knees as he tried to calm himself from the raging panic that flitted through his soul.

'What did I do? I killed him.' It was a continuous stream of repetitive words; he killed an innocent hadn't he? Why was there blood over his hands and why did feel as if he hadn't stopped himself at the last minute? It didn't matter now; nothing mattered. Guilt burned through him; Minato was going to hate him for the rest of his life. Fear, hate and dismissal from Konoha he could handle but if there was one thing that would kill him it would be that Minato rejected and hated him.

He found love, someone who was willing to give him love and devotion but now it was all ruined just because he had done something stupid. Like not registering his surrounding faster. The chakra barrier around him strengthened in his fear and uncontrolled emotions. Before Naruto could ponder the reason for the barrier he was harshly tugged into his mindscape.

'Naruto? Come here.' Naruto obeyed; Kyuubi sounded worried. If Kyuubi was worried then something was definitely wrong. Tentative footsteps carried him towards the large cage; cold water splashing all around him and wetting his pants. It was already all the way to his calves; it was cold and something about it felt heavy around him. Scared blue eyes locked with slitted red.

'You did not kill the Uchiha; Naruto. Feel for his chakra.' Naruto frowned; he could have sworn he did. He even remembered the blood that coated his fingers and hands. Naruto was panicked but immediately calmed as a warm tail brushed against him. His senses expanded and Naruto felt for the bright, warm and arrogant spark that was Obito's chakra. It was still there; strong and steady.

'How?'

'Kit; you've been through hell and back these last few days. Hell; I'm surprised you haven't snapped sooner. What you saw was just your imagination; you need rest. You're emotionally drained and the fear of loosing your hearing has not left you yet. Take it slow kit; one day at a time with Minato at your side. Don't rush things.' Naruto nodded numbly; he was getting ready to leave again. No matter how long he wanted to stay with Kyuubi he needed to be by himself; too many emotions were sparking through him and none of them were positive.

'Kit; leave up that barrier for as long as you need. Try to sort through your emotions. I'll try and contact Yondaime.' Naruto wanted to open his mouth to speak but no sound sprang forth; tears instead formed in his eyes and to his surprise the water that was swirling at his feet seemed to creep up to his cheeks and gathered the droplets that fell.

'W-what?'

'Kit; this water is all the tears you have ever cried. It accumulates here in your sorrow; you know.' Naruto frowned but instead of more questions spilling forth Naruto merely nodded; accepting the explanation. With a nod to Kyuubi Naruto returned to reality.

Naruto felt haggard and afraid, curling together more tightly into himself Naruto for the first time allowed his fears, sorrow, anger and disappointment in loosing his hearing to explode. He knew he must have been screaming and making a lot of noise but Naruto never heard it; no he couldn't hear anymore. It finally caught up to him. The facts he had been hiding from himself; what he was afraid to show Minato and what even he didn't want to face.

Obito felt a small whimper escape his lips; the small cut in his neck stinging. Minato-sensei had warned him that Naruto would easily be able to kill him and he hadn't listened. Even if his jutsu worked and coloured blonde hair orange and purple it still woke Naruto up; he had never been so afraid before. Those blue eyes were dead; they didn't see him. No they had seen something else; something much more terrifying that him. The fear he had seen swirling in blue depth made even his breath stop. Now Obito merely stared at the yellow flash as Naruto disappeared into the forest; Minato-sensei was going to kill him...

"Minato-sensei?" He shook the older Namikaze's shoulder; luckily Minato-sensei wasn't a heavy sleeper. Blue eyes focused on his and Obito saw a frown furrowing blonde eyebrows.

"Obito? W-what?" Black eyes glanced away guilty.

"What did you do?" Minato's voice sounded tired and exasperated. He watched as blue eyes shifted in fear as they did not find Naruto. Minato moved so fast that Obito almost did not see it; kneeling beside the large scroll Naruto-sensei always wore. He saw panic in those blue eyes and he cringed; knowing that this was his fault.

"I-I'm s-s-sorry." Obito said as he hung his head.

"Obito; please tell me you didn't prank Naruto." At Obito's nod of ascent; Minato nearly exploded. Loosing reign of his temper. Taking a deep breath Minato turned to his troublesome student.

"What happened?" His voice was deadly quiet; he had known something had gone wrong as Naruto never left anywhere without his scroll. Hell he even slept with it close to him. The panic was slowly in rising but the constant tug at his and Naruto's link told him something was definitely very wrong.

"I just finished my jutsu when he woke up; he nearly sunk a kunai into my neck. B-but he stopped and Naruto-sensei just fled." Obito's voice was shaky with fear and something akin to regret. Minato sighed; fists clenching at his side in anger and fear. Naruto could be in serious trouble now and in a very delicate state of mind. Knowing the younger Namikaze; Naruto probably thought he had killed Obito. Without waiting for anything else to be said Minato hoisted the large scroll on his back - Naruto would want it the moment Minato found him again. Slipping several of his Flying Thunder God kunai in his hand; he turned burning blue eyes towards Obito. Emotions swirling in those depths told the young Uchiha that his punishment would be severe and saved for a later date.

"Which way did he go?" As Obito pointed Minato nodded; his senses already reaching out for Naruto only to come up with a blank.

"Wake Uchiha-sensei. Tell him to find me as soon as possible; Naruto may be in trouble and then I want all of you to wait here until we return." With all that he needed to say; Minato took off. The elder Namikaze had known something was wrong the moment he heard that terrified shriek moments before he had woken up; that terrified sound still rang harshly in his ear. He shuddered; so much fear in that one sound.

A mere minute into his trek through the forest he felt another presence sidle up to him; Minato would never admit but he felt relieved. Fugaku may sometimes act like a pervert and goof off but for times like these Minato was glad that the Uchiha was by his side; it was as if a switch had been flicked and a serious countenance stared at him. Sharingan eyes already spinning with the intent to kill.

"You're late Uchiha. We have an emergency." Minato said in a clipped voice; only to the long time rivals it would translate as relief and conveyed the concern and fear of the Namikaze. He could feel that deadly glare directed at the back of his neck but he paid it no mind; that was just Uchiha talk for - 'I got your back'. All Minato could do now was concentrate on finding Naruto's chakra; it seemed to be increasingly difficult. The moment he thought he sensed it; it faded and fluctuated again. The distress was easy to pick up.

"What happened?" Fugaku's voice dragged Minato back to his teammate and he sighed; pushing away from another tree. His speed becoming more with his desperation. Fugaku could barely keep up but Minato's distress unconsciously increased his speed as well as his worry.

"Obito thought it was a good idea to prank Naruto. Naruto woke up and nearly killed Obito and in his desperate fear; he ran." Silence was thick and for the first time Minato could feel Fugaku giving off emotions that was not in the range of an Uchiha. Anger, hate and a coldness that made him shiver.

"You mean your brother nearly killed my nephew?" Minato growled; all well in time Obito would be comforted but right now Naruto was the main focus. Turning furious blue eyes to lock with red Sharingan; Fugaku had just overstepped a boundary that had been placed long ago. Never; ever bring someone else into a rescue attempt who had caused the mess in the first place. Furious blue eyes flashed dangerously as Minato's tight reign on his temper finally snapped.

"You better shut your mouth Uchiha! Naruto would never hurt anyone on purpose but he cannot help the traumatizing past he has lived through. Fuck; Fugaku! I warned Obito to not prank Naruto and now look what happened. My so- b-brother is in an emotional wreck; he's deaf and he is fucking suicidal with self blame!" Minato had managed to correct himself before the wrong word spilled out. His concern now vocalized he could stop the fear and panic that fuelled his words. He needed to get to Naruto and he needed to get there now. Words spilled from his mouth and he had no idea where they came from but he couldn't afford to lose Naruto now. Not after everything that had happened between them. Not after everything he had learned about his precious son.

"Think! Oh mighty Uchiha genius! Think what such a simple event could do to him?! Have you figured it out yet? Yes; Fugaku. Naruto could be slashing his wrists as we speak." Minato said sarcastically before sending a deadly glare over his shoulder. He snorted before reaching out with his senses again; desperate to find what he had lost. A slight whisper across his link to Naruto made him stop; it was close. Signalling the now silent Uchiha; he headed north. The more he moved towards that direction the stronger the connection got; not once did he stop sending soft pulses of calm but Naruto was not responding to his calls. It was quiet but Naruto's chakra signature was still strong; that helped settle his panic.

He came to a screeching halt; he saw several spiked chains behind a blue chakra barrier. It was in correspondence with Naruto's chakra; knowing that that was where Naruto was. Minato stopped though; his heart had yet to still the panic that coursed through his body. A lump settled in his throat; he knew that sealing technique and he deflated. There was no way he could break it and get inside to where his Naruto was.

"Why did you stop?" Fugaku's question brought reality crashing down around Minato; bringing with it the fact that: He. Could. Not. Break. That. Barrier.

"Because that is an impenetrable barrier." Minato said deflated; back resting against a tree in front of the barrier Naruto had erected. Shoulders slumped as all the energy seemed to drain away from him. A heavy head hung in failure; he had failed his son. He couldn't even be there when he cried his sorrow and comfort him. Minato just really hoped that Kyuubi would not allow suicide to happen.

"What do you mean?" Minato sighed heavily; wary, wizened eyes stared at Sharingan red.

"I never thought it was even possible to create that barrier - Kami No Gin Chen Enkei Fuinjutsu - for me at least it is impossible to break."

"Why can't you break it?" Minato gave a heavy sigh.

"It's a sealing technique so complicated and chakra draining that even I can't do it. It's an ancient jutsu created by the Uzumaki clan and was used to suppress bijuu before a sealing. It can also be used in the battle in order to create an impenetrable barrier." What Minato left out was the fact that this seal proved that Naruto was definitely an Uzumaki; he had once visited Eddy Village and was allowed to read through some of their restricted scrolls. In one of his readings he came across the Kami No Gin Chen Enkei Fuinjutsu and was a seal strictly passed down from one Uzumaki generation to the next. It was the awakening of that seal that meant they had reached their inheritance. Sometimes even the strength of the seal would determine the next head of the clan. Only the Uzumaki elite inherited it.

"What now?" Fugaku sounded as helpless as Minato felt. Minato slid to the ground; folding his legs as he leaned his head against the bark of the tree behind him.

"Now we wait." Minato said. Desperately reaching out to Naruto; no answer but what startled him was the touch of a different chakra streaking across his link. Fiery, fierce and definitely Naruto's. That could only mean one thing; Kyuubi no Kitsune was contacting him through his link with Naruto.

Minato closed his eyes; allowing the tug at his and Naruto's link to lead him forward. In his minds eye he observed the place he now found himself. His body in a meditative state as he allowed for a bit of astral wondering; thank god he was close friends with Inouichi. It made this much easier and safer as well. Blue eyes blinked at the sewer like labyrinth he encountered. Water reached above his ankles and frowned; that was odd. Reminding himself he wasn't here to stroll through Naruto's mindscape Minato pushed forward towards where that dark chakra was leaking from.

'Kyuubi?' Red slitted eyes opened to stare at him; the power radiating off the fox was enough allow fear to shimmer through him. The chuckle he heard was warm and unexpected from a demonic entity.

'Not all stories that you hear are true Yondaime. The only reason I attacked that night when Naruto was born was the fact that Madara forced me from my previous jinchuuriki and controlled me with his Sharingan. But that is a story for another time. I called you here because your kit needs you desperately.'

'I can't break through that barrier; how am I supposed to get through?' A head shifted on large paws; slitted red eyes blinked a few times before a snort travelled through the large space.

'I never said anything about breaking through the barrier; Yondaime. You simply have to bypass the technique.'

'How? It's impossible. There is no counter to that Jutsu.' Minato felt as if this was not going anywhere; there was literally no way to bypass this technique.

'Oh but there is my precious Yondaime. You see this morning when Naruto was startled he grabbed one of your kunai. May I add it's the Flying Thunder God Kunai and Naruto hasn't dropped it. It's still in his hands. Those many years ago when you sealed me; the same barrier was erected and you were the only one who could enter and that's the way you did it.' Minato was confused but his mind was racing a mile a minute; if what Kyuubi said is correct then he could summon himself towards Naruto and automatically into the barrier.

'What about the chains though?' Those dangerous looking chains made him hesitate.

'Yondaime; you'll be surprised how transparent chains can become in the presence of a beloved family member. No get going; you're kit needs you!' Minato nodded; blue eyes blinking open; the fox had said some interisting things but for now Minato pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind. He had found a way to get to Naruto and he was going to do it; determination flashed in blue eyes.

"Fugaku; I'm going to try something." Minato turned determined eyes towards concerned black; he saw the flash of hesitation in those black eyes and scowled. He would still do it; no matter the dangers the Uchiha might think were involved.

"Be careful Minato." Minato nodded; his chakra seeking out the seal on his kunai. With a flash and several hand seals later Minato felt his body lurch forward as he flickered to the destination. Blue eyes opening; a small smile of triumph splitting his lips as he realized he had made inside of the barrier. Just as Kyuubi said, those dangerous looking chains were indeed transparent when he passed through then but solidified the moment he passed through them. For the first time Minato became aware of desperate sounds the assaulted his hearing; it was heartbreaking to hear. It wasn't screaming and wailing; now those sounds were much more distressing. Little chocked gurgles and desperate monotonous sounds; sounds that a person made when they could not hear themselves and still was desperately trying to make sounds.

'Naruto?' Minato's asked quietly; for a moment he cringed as he noticed the bright orange and purple hair. Naruto was not going to be happy about that but right now Naruto was in a state of great distress; he needed to move. Carefully he allowed his chakra control to go and allowed for his presence to be known. At his flare of chakra he saw Naruto's head lift; big blue eyes staring at him as tears stained whiskered cheeks. It was the first time Minato had seen Naruto look so vulnerable.

'D-dad?' Minato nodded and stepped forward; sinking to the ground right next to Naruto. Arms winding around Naruto's shoulder; he gave a harsh tug until Naruto was seated in his lap. Face buried in his chest; tears soaking through his clothes but Minato didn't mind. He felt his own distress dissipate by the mere presence of Naruto close to him.

'Naruto; do you want to talk about it?' Minato asked softly. Some time had elapsed but how much neither Namikaze knew; all Minato knew was that Naruto needed to find comfort and express the emotions he had been locking up for a long time. Even before they had met. When he felt the negative shake of Naruto's head Minato gave a sigh; Naruto wasn't going to make things easy for him. It figures that his Namikaze genes would be acting up now. So carefully Minato shifted Naruto so that the younger Namikaze was sitting in-between his parted legs. Pressing his chest to Naruto's back and encircling his arms around Naruto's waist he kept Naruto there. His nose buried in brightly coloured hair and inhaling the scent that surrounded Naruto so potently; summer rain, musk, ramen and summer sunshine. Briefly he wondered what he smelled like to Naruto but shoo his head; sending small pulses of warm chakra over Naruto's stomach.

'Talk to me Naruto.' He pleaded; placing gentle kisses on Naruto's neck. He heard a small sigh of pleasure and he smiled; Naruto was really sensitive. As he sucked gently on Naruto's neck he felt Naruto press closer to him. When no answer was forthcoming Minato knew he was going to have to resort to other forms of getting Naruto to open up and share his emotions, insecurities and vulnerability.

'Do you want to talk later?' He felt a tiny nod against his shoulder.

'Ok; Naruto. We'll talk later but can you drop the Kami No Gin Chen Enkei Fuinjutsu?' He felt Naruto stiffen; confusion flitting across their bond.

'T-the what?' Minato chuckled; trust Naruto to do something amazing and not even realize it. He was going to have to fix that as well.

'The barrier you put up Naruto; that's what it's called. Kami No Gin Enkei Fuinjutsu.'

'Oh.' With that Minato saw Naruto draw a single seal and with a pop the barrier was gone as the chains started disappearing as well; leaving behind two bewildered Namikaze's in a very compromising position for Sharingan eyes to observe. When Minato saw the small flash of desire in Fugaku's eyes he gave a heavy sigh. Now he had a horny Uchiha to deal with as well; his day had not started out well. At least he had managed to appease and sooth Naruto's complete emotional breakdown but that was child's play against trying to appease a horny Uchiha who had played the voyeur not once but twice; Minato just knew that it was going to be a long day fighting off perverted glances and angry Naruto's.
