Leaf Café Chapter 5

Gaara was starting to get impatient as he leaned against
the wall next to Sand’s locker room door while Temari
and Naruto talked about the game. He couldn’t understand why the two of them
found such a stupid sport like basketball interesting. He sighed as he closed
his eyes to drown out the noise around him. Temari
looked over at her little brother when she heard him sigh.
“What’s wrong with you?” Temari asked as she poked Gaara’s
forehead. Gaara growled as he opened his eyes.
“I hate basketball. I hate
being here. I hate waiting on people. And I hate being around you.” Temari felt hurt by Gaara’s
words, but quickly covered it up with a smile.
“I love you too.” Gaara frowned at her. He wasn’t a fool. He noticed the hurt
in her eyes. Naruto sighed as he hit Gaara on top of
his head.
“WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?”
Gaara asked in an outraged voice. Temari
was shocked, never had anyone hit Gaara and got away
with it. Naruto shook his head before looking at his red-haired friend sternly.
“Apologize.” Gaara blinked.
“What?”
“I told you to apologize to
your sister.”
“No.” Gaara
sneered. Naruto was starting to get irritated. He was about to punch Gaara, but he suddenly had a better idea.
“Then find somewhere else to
live!” Gaara couldn’t believe it. Naruto, his only
friend, would say that.
“You wouldn’t?”
“I would.” Naruto responded
before smirking. Gaara groaned as he looked over at
his sister.
“Sorry.” Temari’s
eyes widened. She quickly pinched herself to make sure she was awake. Gaara rolled his eyes before looking back over at Naruto.
“There! You happy now?” Naruto smiled as he nodded his
head.

Sasuke opened the door and
looked around to make sure there were no crazy girls or media. He sighed in
relief when he noticed there weren’t any and stepped out of the locker room. He
looked around one more time to make sure and froze when he noticed Naruto and
the two others he was with earlier. He had thought the blonde had left already
and was happy to see he hadn’t. He smirked as he started to walk toward the
blonde.
The closer he got, the bigger
his smirk got. He was almost there when suddenly he was surrounded by a horde fan-girls. Sasuke growled as he tried to keep
them away from him. He swatted at their hands as they grabbed for him. One of
them latched on to his arm while another his leg. He
pried the girl off his arm first then the one off his leg. He looked over to
where Naruto was and was happy to see the blonde still there.

Naruto was about to give up
waiting on Kankuro when suddenly the locker room door
opened and Kankuro came out. Kankuro
smiled sheepishly as he looked at the impatient expressions on everyone’s face.
“Sorry it took so long. Some
of the guys and I were having a bit of a disagreement, but that’s all settled
now.” Temari rolled her eyes while Gaara just openly ignored him. But Naruto acted indifferent
to the whole thing. He just stared down while he held on to his stomach. Kankuro looked at him questioningly. “What’s wrong with
you?”
“I’m hungry!” Naruto whined
as he looked at Kankuro with puppy dog eyes. Kankuro looked blankly at the blue-eyed male before
smiling.
“Let’s go eat then. I’ll
pay.” Naruto smiled brightly as he quickly hugged Kankuro.
“Can we have ramen?” Kankuro didn’t know how to respond to the hug so he just
patted Naruto on the back. He looked over to see Temari
giggling and Gaara glaring hatefully at him. He
gulped as he pried the blonde off him.
“Yeah, we can have ramen.”
Naruto quickly grabbed Gaara and Kankuro’s
hands as he pulled them toward the exit as he happily shouted ramen over and
over again. Temari smiled as she shook her head
before following them.

Sasuke was about to call out
to the blue-eyed male, but stopped when he noticed Sand’s locker room door
open. He continued to swat the girls hands away from
him as he watched Kankuro come out of the locker
room. He couldn’t here what was being said over the squawking of the girls but
he watched them closely. His eyes widened as he saw Naruto smile as he gave Kankuro a hug then hold hands with both Kankuro
and the red-head as they walked off. Sasuke growled menacingly. The girls
quickly moved away from him when they heard him growl and watched quietly as he
walked away.

“This is me and Gaara’s
pad.” Naruto said excitedly as he held
open the apartment door and gestured to the apartment with his free hand. Gaara rolled his
eyes as he walked past the blond into the apartment while Temari
and Kankuro smiled as they slowly walked in and
looked the place over. It was small but
cozy looking with a red couch against the wall, a small brown coffee table in
front of the couch, a recliner on the wall next the couch, a nightstand with a
phone and a phonebook between the couch and recliner, off white walls, hard
wood floors, the small entertainment stand on the wall next to the door, a
hallway leading to Naruto’s bedroom with a closet
door and the bathroom door on the wall on the opposite side, and not too far on
the left wall next to the door was the opening to the kitchen.
“It looks nice.” Temari replied in a
happy tone. Kankuro
looked around a bit more before speaking his opinion.
“It’s nice, but a little
small for two people.”
“Yeah, I know. But it’s ok for now. Besides, Gaara
doesn’t seem to mind sleeping on the couch.”
Naruto said with a smile on his face.
Gaara looked over at the blond boredly.
“I don’t sleep much, so it
doesn’t matter.” Came
Gaara’s bored reply.
Temari placed her stuff on the floor next to
the recliner as she sat down.
“So, what are we going to do
for the rest of the night?” Temari asked excitedly.
“I don’t know. I don’t have cable and I left all my games
and movies at Jiraiya’s.” Naruto replied in confusion. Kankuro dropped his
bag on the floor when he heard what Naruto said and couldn’t stop himself from sounding shocked when he spoke.
“No cable! No movies!”
“Sorry about that. I have a dvd player
though, so if you want, we can go rent something.” Naruto suggested as he scratched the back of
his head sheepishly. Temari
nodded her head as she reached over and grabbed her purse and one of the bags
she brought with her then started to speak as she stood up.
“Gaara
and I will go rent some movies while you two stay here and make some thing to
eat.” Temari
then walked over and handed the bag to Naruto.
“I brought some food along so we didn’t eat all yours.” Temari said as she
smiled then turned to Gaara. “Let’s get going Gaara.” Gaara rolled his
eyes as he stood up and followed his sister out the door.
Naruto quickly opened the bag
to see a box of popcorn, pop-tarts, and Oreo cookies. He raised his eyebrow, wondering how this
could all be called food. He took the
bag into the kitchen and pulled the box of popcorn out. He then had a really great idea and called
out to Kankuro.
“Hey Kankuro,
order some pizza.” Kankuro
smiled as he walked over to the nightstand and grabbed the phone book off it
and looked for a pizza delivery place.

Gaara rolled his eyes as Temari
held the movie “Romeo & Juliet” up in front of his face with a pleading
look. He shook his head and her arms
dropped down to her sides in defeat as she walked off to find another
movie. Gaara
just ignored it and continued to look through the horror section, hoping to
find something worth his time. He
suddenly saw one and reached for it only for some one else’s hand to get in the
way. Gaara
growled as he looked to see who was reaching for his movie only for his eyes to
widen when he stared into the white eyes of Neji.
Neji smirked at Gaara as he
grabbed the movie. He held it in front
of the red heads face teasingly as he began to speak.
“Did you want this?” Neji asked in a
teasing tone. Gaara
frowned before reaching out to grab it only for the Hyuuga
to quickly pull it away from him. Neji smiled as he saw Gaara’s
eyebrow twitch.
“Sorry, I can’t let you have
it unless you say yes to going out with me.”
Neji said the last part seductively as he held
the movie away from Gaara. Gaara was about to
tell the Hyuuga where to go when the words died in
his mouth as Temari, who apparently snuck up on him, spoke before he could.
“He’d loved to go out with
you!” Temari
excitedly said. Gaara’s
eyes widened and he thought his mouth had fallen open, but luckily for him, it
didn’t. Neji
looked at the blond woman for a moment before smirking.
“How about a double date, and Naruto can be Sasuke’s
date?” Neji
asked confidently. Gaara
snapped out of it when the other mentioned Naruto being the bastards date. He was about to speak, but once again his
sister interrupted him.
“You mean Uchiha
Sasuke?” Temari
asked in awe. Neji
nodded his head and Temari looked as if she was on
cloud nine as she replied. “He’d love
to.” Gaara’s
fist clenched at his side as he turned to talk to his sister, this time only to
be interrupted by Neji.
“Perfect, then we’ll meet you
tomorrow at Konaho Theater at about six, we’ll watch a movie then get something to eat.”
“That’ll be great. I’ll make sure that they’ll be there.” Temari replied,
still on cloud nine. Neji
then handed Gaara the movie and was about to walk
away from the two but stopped and turned to look at them again.
“I almost forgot. Is there anything particular that Naruto
likes that I should tell Sasuke? Like
what food he likes, what kind of movies, or what his
favorite place to go is?” Neji asked questioningly. Temari
was opening her mouth to speak again but this time she was interrupted by Gaara.
“I refuse to go on a date
with you and Naruto will not go on a date with that bastard.” Gaara stated
angrily. Neji
quirked an eyebrow at him while Temari snapped out of
her cloud nine phase. She looked over at
her brother sternly as she spoke.
“Don’t listen to him, they’ll
be there.” Temari
said as she stared at her brother. She
then tossed a few movies she picked out to Gaara then
grabbed Neji by the arm. “Go pay for everything and I’ll meet you at
the car.” Temari
said as she dragged the Hyuuga off, answering the
questions he had asked earlier. Gaara growled as watched their retreating backs. It didn’t matter what she said, he wasn’t
going and Naruto wouldn’t want to go either when he found out. Gaara then went to
go pay for everything, the entire time pissed off and thinking about killing
his sister.

Naruto looked the movies over
that Temari and Gaara had
rented and picked one out. Gaara smirked as he realized it was the movie he had
picked. He still hadn’t told Naruto yet
and waited for the right moment to tell him.
He had noticed that Temari had talked to
Naruto earlier, but he couldn’t hear what was said. He noticed that Naruto had already put the
movie in and was sitting down. He
watched closely as Naruto brought the slice of pepperoni and green pepper pizza
to his mouth and took a bite. Gaara smiled as he picked that moment to be the right time
to speak.
“Temari
told Neji that we’d go on a double date with him and
Sasuke.” Gaara
stated. Naruto choked on the bite of
pizza for moment while Temari quickly rushed over and
patted his back until it dislodged itself from Naruto’s
throat. Naruto then took a drink of his
soda as Temari patted his back in comfort.
“Are you ok now?” Temari asked in
concern. Naruto shook his head.
“No I’m not ok. How could you tell that prick that we’d go on
a double date with them?” Naruto said in
irritation. Temari
smiled nervously as she looked at the blond.
“It’s not like it’s the end
of the world, and besides, I think it would be a good idea. From what you told me on the phone, I think
you might have a crush on Sasuke, just like I think Gaara
might actually like Neji.” Temari
replied. Gaara’s
eyes widened as he looked at Naruto, who scratched the back of his head
sheepishly.
“You’ve been calling my
sister and telling her everything that goes on?” Gaara asked
angrily. Naruto nodded his head and
smiled a nervous smile as he stared at the enraged red head. “What the hell is wrong with you? You idiot. Why the hell are you telling my sister about
everything that goes on?” Naruto held
his hands up defensively as the red head stood up and cracked his knuckles.
“Wait a minute Gaara. Don’t do
anything you’ll regret.” Naruto said
worriedly. Kankuro
could tell Gaara was pissed, he could not only hear
it in his voice, but his expression just screamed bloody murder. He sat back in the recliner and continued to
eat his slice of pizza while glancing back and forth between the three arguing,
this was a very amusing show for him.

Sasuke looked at Neji in disbelief while Itachi sat on the couch. There was no way he could believe it. And there was no way he was going to agree to
it. Nope, not him. He was an Uchiha,
and Uchiha’s weren’t gay. So there was no way he was going on a date
with the dobe.
Neji could already tell what his friend was
thinking and was happy he had already talked to Itachi about it all. Itachi looked over at his little brother boredly.
“I can already tell what
you’re thinking little brother. And it
doesn’t matter what you think, because you’re going. Even if I have to beat you until you’re
bloody and bruised, you will go.” Itachi
said sternly. Sasuke glared at his
brother only to get into a glaring match with him and after a few moments he
gave up. He was never able to beat his
brother in a glaring match.
“Fine.” Sasuke huffed
angrily. No matter what, he knew he’d be
forced to go. Even though he was pissed,
he still felt a little happiness. But he
quickly crushed it down. He was an Uchiha and Uchiha’s weren’t gay, is what he kept telling himself to crush that
little happiness. Neji
smirked at Itachi who smirked back. Now
all they had to do was inform Sasuke of all that Neji
had learned from Temari and try to make sure he
understood that he had to be nice. Neji sighed when he realized how hard this was going to
be. After all, Sasuke happens to be the
most stubborn person Neji had ever met.
“Oh well.” Neji thought, “Might as well get started.”

AN: Alright
it’s short. I’m sorry, but this is where
I intended to end this chapter. This
chapter was originally going to be the ending part of chapter 5, but I didn’t
get it typed and I wanted to update for all my reviewers! But anyways, I’m going to try and make the
chapters to my fics long again if I have the
time. I hope you all enjoyed it! Thanks for all the reviews!

Next time, will Naruto and Gaara
show up for the date? Will Sasuke behave
