Author's note: First of all, many apologies for taking so long with this next part! It never was my intention to have you waiting this long again (I really hope people are still reading this). Now I had something else in mind first, but this idea suddenly popped up in my head and wouldn't leave me alone and frankly I think this might actually work better with regards to the next part I'm planning. Anyways, so yes, I know it's short, for which I apologise as well. But I figured it was time I gave you something before another month passes by *winces*
Warnings: takes place when the twins are around two years old; mysterious pov (for now); creepy character; stalking
I hope you'll like this! (Despite the shortness)
Chapter 47
He'd been working for the company for seven months when he saw him. A young blond Omega confidently walking into the building, dressed in a garish looking orange jacket and deep blue jeans.
On anyone else the orange jacket would look ridiculous, but somehow this man managed to pull it off and he watched him approach the desk, smiling at the woman seated behind it.
"Hello, I was wondering if Itachi is still in his office? He told me I should wait for him here," the man said and he wondered what the relationship between this Omega and his boss was, for the blond to refer to him so casually.
"Probably, but I'll tell him you're here," she smiled and grabbed the phone.
"Thanks," the man grinned and stepped away from the desk, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
As he wandered over to one of the paintings displayed on the wall, he passed him and their eyes met for a brief moment. Instantly he felt like he was struck by lightning, so rooted to the spot he was at the sight of those arresting blue eyes. He hadn't seen that particular shade of blue on anyone before; not even the boss' husband had such clear blue eyes and he'd been surprised by his beauty upon seeing him for the first time.
This Omega, though … He was something else. There was something very attention grabbing about the way he walked; his face possessing the kind of beauty that would have everyone staring, even with the faint scar marks on his cheeks. Those only added further to his appeal, giving him something mischievous.
And his scent … He inhaled deeply and clenched his mouth tightly shut before any embarrassing noise could escape. God, he had never smelt anything like this before; the scent curling up in his nostrils, embedding itself within them. Like pure ambrosia, putting him nearly into a trance. It took every last bit of restraint he possessed not to reach out and reel the blond against him.
Who was he?
The elevator dinged and opened, revealing his boss. He didn't carry his suitcase, so whatever appointment he had with the Omega, it wasn't one which would take him all day.
He watched the Alpha stride through the foyer, shivering when he could practically taste the powerful aura blasting off of him. Uchiha paused just a few feet away from the blond and smiled faintly.
"Naruto-kun, sorry for making you wait."
Naruto, huh? That name oddly suited him.
Naruto turned around, his smile widening just a tad. "No worries, Deidara-kun told me you were busy with some clients. You got time now or should we meet up this weekend?"
"No, I have time," Uchiha said decisively and gestured for the other man to follow him. "I'll take you out for lunch, it's on me."
"You and Sasuke really need to learn that I can pay for myself," Naruto sighed, but followed the Alpha regardless.
"And you must be the only one who complains about someone else taking up the bill," Uchiha shot back dryly.
"I call bullshit on that one, I'm sure Deidara-kun complains too!"
"He at least has learnt not to fight me on this matter," Uchiha smirked.
"You mean, he's figured out that if he wants to pay, he has to be quicker with grabbing the bill."
"However you want to look at it."
He watched the two men walk out of the door and only stirred when the woman behind the desk raised an eyebrow at him. He hurried back to his desk and sat down, booting up his computer again.
As he started working on the spreadsheet again, however, his mind was miles away; to a certain beautiful Omega currently sharing lunch with his boss.
When he came home that same evening he immediately went to his study and stopped in front of the wall upon which hours and hours of immaculate research was carefully displayed.
Multiple pictures of Uchiha Itachi adorned the wall, accompanied by clippings of news articles, detailing the successes of the company. There was an article dedicated to his wedding day and another one celebrating the hundred and fiftieth birthday of the company. Candid shots of Uchiha walking on the street, entering his company, returning home, spending time with his family … His contract bearing Uchiha's signature, proof that he had been hired.
Ever since he'd seen the footage of Uchiha attending a charity event two years ago, he'd become fascinated by the Alpha. There was so much raw power practically pouring off of him and all he had wanted to do, was get closer to Uchiha, get a taste of that power. The combination of frightening intellect, dazzling charm and classic beauty had been hard to resist and he replayed each and every interaction he had with Uchiha – small as those were – over and over again, revelling in how powerful they made him feel.
He might have been born a weakling, but being near Uchiha would make him strong, he knew. That was how it worked.
He thought he knew everything about Uchiha after carefully having studied him for two years, but today had proven to him that he still had much to learn. He knew who Uchiha's husband was, knew he had two children, but who was Naruto? What kind of relationship did he have to both Uchiha and his husband to act so familiar?
Ignoring his protesting stomach, he sat down behind his desk and booted up his laptop, impatiently waiting until he could start his research. He had to know who this blond Omega was, had to know how he knew Uchiha. It was like an itch he couldn't scratch, this sudden burning desire to find out more about the beautiful man.
As soon as the home page greeted him, he went to google and threw in all the keywords he thought might help him in his quest, everything that might help him discover who the mysterious blond was.
Two hours later he had started a new section on the wall. Taping the last corner of the printed out picture on the wall, he stepped back and smiled.
"Uzumaki Naruto," he breathed out and carefully stroked Naruto's cheek, imagining how soft it would feel underneath his fingers. "I can't wait to see you again."
Naruto smiled back at him, preserved carefully from the shiny paper.
Uzumaki Naruto was five years younger than Uchiha and was married to Uchiha's younger brother, Sasuke. That news admittedly irked him, but it wasn't something insurmountable. Given enough time that would change, he was certain.
There were three kids to consider of course, but something could be done about them as well. He was a patient man, had studied and trailed Uchiha for two years – he could be just as patient for Naruto.
Because Naruto was different. Uchiha was someone he admired, who he strived to be at, whose powerful aura made him delirious. Naruto, however … His scent, even for that short moment he'd been allowed to smell it, made him heavy with want; his natural beauty had him begging to worship him. He would take good care of the beautiful Omega, would learn all his likes and dislikes, and they would have the perfect life together.
Uchiha's little brother couldn't give Naruto what he needed, he wasn't as powerful as Uchiha was; he didn't deserve the claim he had on the blond man.
But he was capable of giving him everything. He just needed to be patient, needed to bide his time until the right moment arrived.
He had waited forty years to meet him – he could wait a bit longer still. Mother always told him that good things came to those who waited.
And so he watched him.
He tracked him down to where he lived, took note of the times he left the house and for how long whenever his work allowed him to leave for a day. He watched him tote around his three children – two of which were twins to his great surprise – to the park and to the store, looked on as Naruto patiently dealt with their antics.
Stared darkly as he greeted Uchiha's little brother with a kiss every evening, laughing loudly whenever that bastard got too handsy right before their children would run up to greet him.
But he would wait.
Wait for the right moment where he could take Naruto away and give him the life he deserved.
Throwing one last look at the grinning blond, he turned around and walked away; a smile of his own unfolding across his face.
Yes, he'd wait for the right moment – and that moment was almost there.
AN2: Yes, this mysterious character is a known one. You can try to guess them with the hint I've thrown in this chapter :) I'm curious how many of you will get it right before the reveal (yes, I'm evil, I'm sorry)
Please leave your thoughts behind in a review; should you spot any mistakes, please point them out to me.
I hope to see you all back in the next chapter! Please stay safe and take care of yourselves!
