Into Hiding

Koroshi ran, and when they had gotten far enough away, she slowed, and they stopped by a river. She washed her face, and had her sons do the same. She caught some fish, made a fire, cooked the fish, and they all ate in silence. She changed her sons’ diapers, and then they were on their way. She found a cave, where they would stay the night.
She made a small fire, and used her cape as a bed for the boys.
They would live like this for several days.
On the third afternoon, her boys cried, desperate for clean clothes, new diapers. They had been so patient with her. So she decided to go into the nearest town.
“Boys, listen very closely to me.”
They gave her their undivided attention.
“I am going to go into a nearby town, but I have to leave you two here, so that I can get there and get back as quickly as possible. I need for you both to be very quiet, and do not make any noise. Don’t leave the cave. You have to listen to me on this. You must. It is absolutely crucial. Do you understand?”
Her sons each nodded, and she gave them a kiss on the forehead each and left on her way, going to the nearest town to get some supplies.
She had no idea what awaited her in this nearby town.
