Author's note: Many, many apologies for taking so long with this new chapter. Real life and other projects got in the way, but I busted my arse to finish this chapter finally. I hope you can forgive me! (And I hope there's still interest for this story *winces*)
Warnings: Kei's pov; fluff; set in the past when Naruto's pregnant for the second time; MPreg
Also yes, I have no idea how developed the speech pattern of a nearly three year old is. My apologies if it's way off the mark!

Chapter 46
On Saturday morning Kei woke up very excited. Daddy and papa had promised him they would go to the zoo today and he couldn't wait! It had been so long since he last had seen all those pretty and cool animals and he was looking forward to spending the entire day there.
Not even paying attention to how little light was peeking through the curtains, he wriggled out of his bed and hurried out of his room, too excited to stay put. The door to papa's and daddy's bedroom was mostly closed, but he simply pushed against it with all his might and stormed inside.
"Daddy, Papa, wake up!" he yelled, rushing over to the big bed.
Daddy yelped startled and papa rolled quickly off of daddy, making Kei frown. Had papa been crushing daddy? That wasn't nice of him and he told him so, struggling to climb onto the bed. It was a lot taller than his was and daddy had to help him up.
"I wasn't crushing daddy," Papa sighed and sat up, running his fingers through his black hair. "Why are you already awake, Kei? It's still so early."
"Wonder who he gets it from," Daddy mumbled, grinning when papa scowled at him.
"Want to see the beasties!" Kei beamed, shuffling on his knees to sit between the two men. "Beasties, papa!"
"So all it takes to get you out of bed early is to promise to go to the zoo, hm?" Papa said dryly and checked the clock on his nightstand. "It's still rather early, though, Kei. The beasties are still asleep."
Kei frowned, pouting. Right, he hadn't thought of that. The beasties needed to sleep too. "When wake?"
"In a few hours," Daddy replied, sitting up as well. His light blue pyjama shirt was twisted around his torso and he tugged at it to straighten it.
"Too long," Kei muttered disappointedly. What was he supposed to do then until the beasties woke up?
"Well," Daddy said slowly, exchanging a look with papa. "Papa and I actually have another surprise for you planned, before we go to the zoo."
"Oh, what?" Kei sat up eagerly, nearly vibrating on the spot. Even more surprises? This weekend was the best already! He loved surprises!
"We're going to visit someone your papa knows and there we will show you the surprise, okay?" Daddy smiled, brushing his hair back. "But first we need to eat breakfast, so that we can get ready for your first surprise, okay?"
"Okay," Kei agreed easily, too happy to get a surprise on top of a visit to the zoo to protest about having to wait.
He squealed and kicked with his legs when papa stood up and swiftly picked him up, throwing him over his shoulder.
"I can feel how empty your stomach is," Papa told him seriously, poking him in his belly, making Kei squirm and laugh. "So we definitely need to fill it before your belly is so empty that we see nothing but a hole!"
"Oh no!" Kei gasped horrified, not wanting his stomach to turn into a hole. "Daddy, eat!" he shrieked, stretching out his arms to daddy, who was just swinging his legs out of the bed.
For just a second, he had a weird look on his face as if he was feeling sick, but then he grinned and rose up, crossing the distance between them in just a couple of steps, grabbing Kei's chubby hands.
"Come on, let's go fill your empty belly!"
The drive to whoever the man was that papa knew was a bit long, but Kei had been allowed to bring his favourite picture book with him, so he was happy to look at the pretty pictures while they drove to the place where his surprise was.
He couldn't help but grow a bit suspicious when he walked into the building, holding daddy's hand, and he saw the same desk he'd seen at papa's office before. This desk had a curly, dark haired woman sitting behind it, instead of the red haired lady at papa's place, and she smiled at them; her smile deepening when she looked at Kei.
"Well, aren't you a cutie?" she cooed and he blushed, shyly hiding behind daddy's legs. She chuckled, her brown eyes glittering, and nodded at an open door. "You can take a seat there. He should be ready to see you in just a few minutes."
"Make that at least fifteen," Papa muttered for some reason, which had daddy rolling his eyes.
There were a bunch of chairs in the room daddy and papa led him too; the walls light blue and the table in the middle having a bunch of magazines scattered all over the surface.
"Doctor?" he asked suspiciously, tightening his grip around daddy's hand.
He'd seen this set up at papa's doctor's office, so he knew this had to be a doctor's office too. Going to the doctor wasn't a good surprise! He wasn't sick, why would he need a doctor?
Before he could become too worked up, daddy and papa sat down and daddy lifted him on his lap, wrapping his arms around him.
"We're at the doctor's, yes," Daddy admitted and went on before Kei could protest, "But this is not a regular doctor, I promise. We're here for me, not for you, no need to be scared."
"Not scared," Kei protested weakly and pursed his lips, grabbing daddy's hands tightly. "You sick, daddy?"
"No, I'm not. This doctor is a special one, you'll see soon," Daddy promised.
Papa snorted quietly, crossing his legs. "He's a special one, all right."
"Sasuke," Daddy reprimanded him for some reason, which only confused Kei further.
They were at the doctor's, but nobody was sick, and this was a special doctor? What kind of special doctor would daddy need? What could possibly be a surprise at a doctor's office?
He jumped when someone knocked on the open door and his eyes widened when he saw a strange man standing there, with white silver hair and an odd mask covering the lower part of his face. He wore the same white coat papa wore at his work, so did that mean this was the special doctor?
"You're only a few minutes too late, what did we do to deserve this miracle?" Papa remarked, standing up.
The man waggled his finger in the air. "Mah, Sasuke-kun, no need to be so surprised," he said cheerfully. "I'm a master of time management, remember?"
"You're a master at mismanaging time," Papa shot back and plucked Kei off daddy's lap, so that the blond could stand up.
"I see you brought your kid with you," the man remarked, his eyes glittering when they looked at Kei. "Looks just like you two. Let's hope he didn't inherit your prickly attitude, though."
"It's really not too late yet to find someone else," Papa told daddy, who just sighed and shook his head.
"Let's go inside, we still have a zoo to visit," Daddy commented and with Kei seated on papa's hip, they followed the doctor into his office.
"All right, I take it you're here to find out how far along you are?" the doctor asked, typing something quickly on his computer.
Kei blinked. How far along what? What was he missing?
"Yeah, I did the test a few weeks ago, but we're not sure how long exactly," Daddy confirmed.
Test, what kind of test? Was it a difficult one?
"Well, seeing as this isn't your first time, I say, let's get started," the doctor said cheerfully, waving to a long, weird looking table which had some sort of screen standing next to it. "You know the drill: bare your stomach and don't mind the cold gel."
"Papa?" Kei asked confused, watching daddy lie down on the table and push up his sweater, revealing his stomach. What was daddy doing?
Papa smiled and carried him over to stand next to the table while the doctor was fiddling with the screen. "This is your surprise, Kei," Papa said and nodded at the screen, which was flickering to life slowly. "Keep looking at that, okay?"
Kei didn't understand what was going on, but he dutifully turned his head to look at the screen, which didn't show anything at the moment.
"This is going to be cold," the doctor warned daddy and smeared a weird, gooey mixture on daddy's stomach, who hissed slightly, wrinkling his nose.
"Never going to get used to that," Daddy muttered and his one hand searched out papa's, who gripped it firmly.
The doctor produced a weird stick which was attached to the screen and pushed it down on daddy's stomach, spreading out the strange mixture. He started typing something, moving the stick back and forth. Some fuzzy grey mass started to appear on the screen, but Kei had no idea what he was looking at. It was all too dark for him!
"Looks like you're eleven weeks along," the doctor suddenly announced and pointed at something on the screen. "See that here? That's the baby."
Baby? Instantly Kei was on high alert, staring at the screen curiously. "Baby, daddy?" he questioned, looking uncertainly at daddy's stomach before looking at the screen again.
He couldn't see anything, but the doctor had just said that there was a baby visible on the screen. Where? Was there a baby in daddy's belly? Was the stick showing that?
"Surprise, sweetheart," Daddy laughed, tugging gently at his foot. "You're going to be a big brother, Kei."
"Baby?" Kei asked wondrously, staring wide-eyed at daddy's belly.
"Yes, there's a baby in daddy's belly," Papa smiled, tugging gently at his hair. "The baby is still too little so he or she has to stay in daddy's belly, but you're going to be a big brother! What do you think?"
He was going to be a big brother? Just like Akihito was Shion's big brother? That was amazing!
"Gooder than beasties!" he cheered, clapping his hands.
This was going to be the best weekend ever! They were going to see the beasties and he was going to be a big brother!
This was definitely the best surprise he had ever got!
AN2: I know it's not long, but I wanted to give you something after this long wait and hey, at least it's fluffy? *clears throat* (I really hope this story has still readers left with the amount of delays)
