''There is more to sex appeal than just measurements. I don't need a bedroom to prove my womanliness. I can convey just as much sex appeal, picking apples off a tree or standing in the rain.''
The air smelled of summer. When you wake up to the rays of sun shining down through your curtians, creating the dim yellow light that spills into your bedroom. But not enough to wake you - but when you do, you feel warm - but not overly. When you have no where to go, or rush to. The affects of sleeping in, and actually finishing that strange dream that left you feeling calm and happy.
When you feel the freshness of the air, smell, and taste. When everything comes back to life, slowly, but filled with beauty. It's an indescribable feeling. But it's one of the best feelings. The first day of spring, was always breath-taking. Everything felt so clean, and brand new.
What was left of the snow on campus was beginning to wash away. Students started returning to their dorms; it was overly crowded. Cars were parked front to back - jam-packed like oversized pickles in a jar. Everyone dressed in light jackets, or sweaters. Some were even crazy enough to wear shorts - not many men, mostly females. There were new students on campus, overly nervous - anxious to start. A lot of the girls excited to meet the 'oh-so-famous- Kakashi that Ino had been obsessed with right before Christmas.
There were groups passing out slips to join, among other cultured things.
''Ah Haruno,'' Kakashi stopped in his tracks. The man was dressed in dress-pants, a little too tight for a straight man - but no one was complaining. He looked like he had stepped out of a vogue magazine - including the glasses, and gay-scarf. Very straight-edge. His tie was tight around his neck - flashes of her grabbing it, and pulling him tight flashed into Sakura's mind, she felt repulsed, but couldn't exactly help the natural pull of attraction she had to him. Though, his cocky attitude out-shined his good looks. ''I see you took many of the books from my reading list.'' His lips curved, not enough to seem too friendly - but just enough to keep you wondering if he was two-faced or not.
Her brow arched momentarily, he wasn't wrong - she had been keeping very busy over the break; with books, oddly enough. ''Yes,'' She paused, her green eyes searching him - his eyes did not move from her own; he looked like he was planning something. ''-Excuse me, Mr.Hatake.'' She bowed politely, and eyed him curiously one more time before turning passed him. ''Take care..'' He trailed off, watching her walk. The way her skinny-jeans hugged her hips, he licked his lips, chuckled quietly and walked in the other direction.
'The nerve of that guy..' She thought, her face turning a very light shade of pink as she trudged through the damp short grass to the girls dorms. There were newbies everywhere. Up, down, right, left, and center. Sakura sighed heavily as she reached her dorm - she decided to have her own dorm this semester, it was much more .. her. Biting her bottom lip, she hesitated to unlock the golden door - because she knew what was waiting behind it. Swallowing, she wandered into the very empty, hollow apartment.
The floors were a dark hardwood, with white walls, and leather furniture. It smelled of cherry blossoms, and rose petals. Sighing heavily, she removed her light-spring jacket and inhaled the smell. She loved the smell of cherry blossoms.
Her heart pounded heavily, uneasy as she eyed the hall down to her bedroom. The door opened, and she wandered over to her bed - the middle was her phone - she picked it up with a heavy heart and pressed the center button - there was 25 missed calls, and even more messages. Her heart felt even heavier. There was more than two voice-mails, her mailbox was absolutely full.
She pressed a hand to her stomach and swallowed. Keeping a secret was never a good thing to do. ''..Naruto...''

Beep Beep
''Hi, you've reached Sakura! You know what to do! ^_^''
- ''..Where are you...'' Naruto's voice trailed, forgetting he wasn't alone.
''You really need to stop blowing up her phone.'' Shikamaru warned. ''She isn't answering.'' He exhaled the smoke from his lungs - he seemed in a lot better shape after the break up with Temari before the break, not so stressed out about pissing off a firey tempered woman. ''Women, aren't worth it Naruto.'' Adding this, he flicked the dark, smokey ashes into a cup full of cigarette butts. Naruto watched; it looked as if it were in slow motion, the particles falling apart as each individual one fell together to make a single pile of black and grey ash that stained the white glass so easily after hundreds of buds. His heart was weighing in the hollow of his chest. ''I just don't understand..'' He muttered; trying to figure out what had happened - after the night they spent together, they went for breakfast; and she went home for the rest of the break without a word.
''For all we know, she could have lost her phone.'' Shikamaru said, eyeing the sadness on Naruto's face. ''Don't sweat it ne'.'' He threw a bag of dorito's at him. ''Eat these before fat-ass comes over.''
''..You mean Chouji?''
Shikamaru nodded. ''Who else would I mean?''

KNOCK KNOCK.
A loud echo came from Sakura's phone hitting the hard-wood, she wasn't expecting anyone and it had caught her completely off guard. Around her was silent, she couldn't hear anything but the loud thudding of her heart. Who was at her door.. what if it was - she closed her eyes momentarily, her fingers clenching her shirt, near her heart as she swallowed the lump in her throat, she knelt down and placed her hand over the cracked iphone. The screen cracked, and now she couldn't get rid of the evidence; least she would have an excuse if she crossed paths with Naruto.
''Hello!? Sakura I know you're in there!!!'' Ino yelled from the other side of the door. ''It's Freezing in the hallway! Jeez! since when do you lock your door! I've been knocking for ten minutes no-''
The door opened, Sakura stood with a forced smile, though she looked rather awkward scratching the back of her head. ''Sorry Ino.... I just got home.''
Ino didn't seem too irked. ''Took you long enough forehead!'' She shouted loudly, her voice echoing in the apartment. ''Jeez! this place is so clean!'' She huffed as she collapsed comfortably on the leather coach. ''Not like mine,''
''-Make yourself at home..'' Closing the door, Sakura turned - and watched her best-friend slouch down low.
''So!'' Ino announced, sitting upright within seconds. The bombshell was a burst of energy at the most spontaneous of times.
Sakura eyed her, sitting on the ledge of the coach. ''Are we still having a girls night?''
''A.. girls night?'' Sakura blinked - she had completely forgotten. After her own problems, she had forgotten about Hinata, and Tenten too - about their problems. Hinata liked Naruto; or did she like Neji? And what about Tenten? Sakura had told her all about the incident with Neji - but they hadn't really spoke since .. and how would Tenten act around Hinata?!
''..Whoa, Haruno, you okay? You look pale...'' Ino trailed off, real worry clouding her excitement. Feeling the pinkette's forhead, she laughed and the door opened. ''So who's doing my makeup..'' Temari walked in - catching them both off guard. ''Uh.. Temari,'' Ino's smile faded. ''What are you doing here?''
''TenTen invited me.'' She replied, rather catty toward the blonde.
Ino snorted.
''Girls calm down,'' Sakura mumbled, pushing herself up. ''Where is Tenten, Temari?'' She asked, her tone calm and friendly - just like she would be with anyone.
''Heck if I know, she said she was changing and she would be right over.''
''But why are YOU here..'' Ino muttered, slouching back on the coach. ''And where is Hinata!''
The entire situation was awkward; more than awkward. Imagine being in Sakura's shoes. Two of your bestfriends, one sleeping with the other's boyfriend, while you slept with someone who your bestfriend claims to like, but also fucks her cousin on a regular basis... Sakura bit her bottom lip. The plan was to go out to the nearest bar, and drink fruity martini's until they couldn't see, stand, or think straight. How could she drink without spilling all the secrets filling up inside of her - she bit her bottom lip harder, and made it bleed.
''Ah! Ew! Sakura your lip is bleeding! Gross.'' Temari took a step-back, the one thing she could not stand was blood.
''Oh..'' Sakura wiped her bottom lip and eyed the giant clock on her wall. ''Ino can you call Hinata and Tenten? I should clean this up...'' She mumbled, feeling her stomach churn at the metallic taste.
Her bathroom smelled like fresh-paint. The walls were lavender, with a white ceiling and frames. No curtians, her apartment was too far up to see into. Her stomach didn't stop flipping, over and over, making her feel rather nauseous - what was going to happen? She could picture it now, she would lose too friends, or maybe worse. Her eyes were blood shot, jesus had they been like that all day? Turning on the taps, she water filled the small sink - steam coming from the hot water. Sakura splashed her face a few times, removing what little make-up she had put on her face. She made a promise to Ino, to let her do her makeup - just this once. It was a girls night after all.
''Sakura! Come out!'' She called. ''Tenten and Hinata are here!'' She sounded as if she were smiling through the door. Sakura felt herself begin to sweat as she left the washroom, but when she rounded the corner to her bedroom - everything seemed perfectly normal...
Flash backs expanded in the hollow of Sakura's mind; those words Neji had said to Hinata about having to stop. The longing in her words were enough to make your insides feel hollow. That feeling of loss, of regret of letting someone let you go, when you never wanted it in the first place. It's emptiness. It's nothingness. It hadn't just been going on for a day, or a week, not even a few months. The ache of emotion, and love was overwhelming - and Sakura had never, in her entire life heard someone so.. sad. They had been doing, whatever they were doing for what seemed years... and that only made the situation worse. Hinata was inlove with Neji. Tenten was inlove with Neji.. but who was Neji inlove with? Was he messing with the both of them; he had to be some kind of fucked up to be sleeping with two girls, especially since he was related to one of them. ''Jeez,'' Ino instantly cut off Sakura's thought process. ''You're pale, you definitely need some color in your pretty face forehead.'' She smiled while pulling out her make-up bag. ''Come here.''
She felt dizzy, her mind was a catastrophe of thoughts. Swallowing when she saw both Hinata and Tenten. Tenten knew, and she knew Sakura knew; but Hinata was completely unaware of everything. She didn't even know Sakura knew, or Tenten - something felt tense, but that was a given. ''You look so pretty today Hinata.'' Tenten smiled. ''Very classy.'' She added, slumping her half-dressed self on a chair. ''I felt like dressing down,'' She shrugged. ''Not sure if I want to go to a bar. Let's goto a club.'' Her lips curved.
Temari crinkled her nose. ''Jesus Tenten, you smell.'' Waving a hand infront of her face, she took a step back. ''You smell like a club yourself.'' Implying that she had smelled like liquor, and Temari wasn't wrong. Now that Sakura was focused, she could smell the booze from here. ''..Temari is right!'' Ino agreed. ''What were you drinking? Rum? You'll never get into the club smelling like that.''
Pain washed over Tenten's face when her eyes met with Sakura's. ''I'm not going.''
''And why the hell not.'' Temari demanded. Tension was rising. Something didn't feel right, and Sakura knew it.
Ino looked from face-to-face, and back at Tenten's. ''Yeah, it's supposed to be a girls night.'' She frowned instantly. ''Don't be a party killer, Ten,''
''Oh shut up you stupid bitch.'' Tenten snapped, her words partially slurred. ''I'm not fucking going.''
''Excuse me?'' Ino snapped, taking a step-forward. ''What is your problem?''
''Why don't you ask Hinata.'' Tenten blurted, and Sakura's heart sank - this was not going to be good. ''Or Fuck maybe Neji for that matter.''
The room was silent.
Tension had broken in the room, and no one was talking. There was mostly confusion between Temari, and Ino. The only two who were completely unaware of what had gone on. Sakura swallowed; maybe it was a huge mistake telling Tenten anything - but she couldn't keep it to herself, it would have drove her crazy knowing. The kind of tension that made your stomach flip into instant knots. Where your breathing caught, and your mouth went dry while your heart tripled in speed. Pounding loudly against the hollow of your rib-cage, while goose bumps ran down your spine making you feel like throwing up. ''What the hell are you talking about Tenten?'' Temari asked, arms crossed at this point. She looked around the room. ''What the fuck is going on? Are one of you sleeping with Shikamaru?'' Assuming was never a good thing to do.
''Of course you would think that.'' Tenten snapped, lazily pushing herself up from the chair. ''No Temari, this isn't about you and your idiot EX boyfriend.'' She added, and took a few steps toward Hinata who was paler than Sakura. Her cheeks had turned a very very light shade of red, as if she were blushing; but instead, she looked as if she were holding back a break down of sobs.
Stopping not even a foot away from the lavender hair girl, Tenten stood there, quietly. Her big, brown eyes analyzing the situation. ''She heard you.'' She spoke quietly, no threat to her voice. Her eyes trailed over to Sakura. ''She heard you... and him.'' Tenten's fingers balled into fists at her sides.
Ino, Temari and Sakura stood stand-by, just watching, holding their breaths. ''...How... could you?'' She breathed, her eyes filling with tears - but she would not let them fall. ''...... HOW COULD YOU?'' She snapped, and her hand rose.
SMACK.
Temari gasped, and started to bolt toward Tenten. ''You bitch-!''
Sakura grabbed her arm, and swiftly twirled her around. ''This is not your fight.'' She warned, her eyes held nothing but threat when they met with her amber ones.
''What the fuck is going on!!'' Temari yelled, looking from one-face to the next. ''What the fuck did Hinata do!''
Ino was in completely shock; she had never seen Tenten so angry..
Hinata had a hand placed where Tenten had smacked her, tears cascading down her face, over her hands.
Silence.
''...Neji is my boyfriend...'' Tenten whispered, itching to smack her again. ''You don't FUCK your cousin, you twisted bitch!!''
''..Wait, what?'' Ino did a double-take at the scene infront of her. ''..Did I hear that correctly?''
''...I think so..'' Temari said softly, her main focus on Hinata. ''..I didn't think she had that kind of...'' She trailed off. ''..-That's fucked up.''
Tenten glanced over at the girls. ''Don't say a word, to anyone.'' Mumbling this, she glanced at Sakura. ''Thanks for not telling anyone.'' She added, her face angry, but you could see the thanks in her eyes.
Hinata did not move while Tenten grabbed her jacket. ''I have to go,'' She pulled on her shoes, and headed for the door.
''Don't go, we can solve this..'' Sakura's voice was soft as she blocked the exit to her apartment from Tenten. ''We can fix it.''
''There's nothing to fix..'' Tenten muttered. ''I broke up with him.. over break.'' She swallowed, trying her hardest not to cry. ''I just need to be alone Sakura...''
Forcing a small smile, where you have to try your hardest, she moved past Sakura and out the door.
''..Well then...'' Temari sighed after about another ten minutes of silence, Sakura's door closed again and Hinata was gone. ''..Okay than,'' She looked at Ino and Sakura. ''This is all super fucked up.''
''Wait,'' Ino glanced at Sakura before shoving a chip into her mouth. ''How long did you know? How did you find out?'' She asked, shocked and curious all at once. ''That's REALLY big, to keep secret. Jeez, good for you Forehead. I would have told everyone the second I found out.'' She paused. ''Does anyone else know?'' Shoving another chip in her mouth, she grabbed the pop sitting infront of her. ''That's kind of really fucked up.''
''No shit.'' Exhaling, Temari cracked her fingers. ''Hinata was sleeping with her cousin, talk about ew.''
Sakura chewed on her lip, kind of relieved that she didn't have to hide it from them anymore. ''I heard them one day... and well,'' She shrugged. ''I didn't want Tenten to continue sleeping with a guy like Neji... I mean... that's super.. gross.''
''Way past the point of super gross.'' Ino announced. ''That's twisted. Like Tenten said.'' Smiling, she swallowed. ''I didn't think Hinata was that kind of girl, I thought it was Naruto that night in here room.''
The mention of Naruto's name, Sakura's heart sunk momentarily. ''..No. Turns out it wasn't.'' She mumbled, pulling out her phone - no more missed calls, or messages. He must of gotten the hint, however guilt was pulling at her every thought. ''It seems like it's been going on for a long time..''
''What do you mean by a long time? A couple of months?''
She shrugged. ''Neji wanted to end it.''
Temari sat forward in her seat. ''So you heard them having a conversation?''
''Kind of...''
Ino shivered. ''Ew. Just.. Ew.'' Her phone beeped. ''Well, I've gotta go.'' She grinned. ''Booty call, and all.'' Winking, she pulled on her jacket.
''Really? You're still sleeping with that gross perv Kiba?'' Temari asked, brow arched. ''Ugh, he's such a pig.''
''So is Ino...''
''Am not! Fuck off Forehead.'' She blew them a kiss. ''See you bitches later.''
The door closed, leaving Temari and Sakura alone in her apartment to gossip.
------
The night was calm, and cool. Spring was Ino's favorite. There were a few students wandering the campus, she couldn't get over the fact that Hinata was actually fucking Neji all this time. 'What a player..' She thought, Neji was fucking two-girls. ''Good on him I guess..'' She mumbled, heading toward Shikmaru's apartment, knowing Kiba would be there. The two of them were fucking, not dating - Ino never said no to a booty call. It was her calling. There were a lot of fresh faces on campus.. but something about the way he fucked her - she couldn't just brush it off, he was like her drug or something.
''Well well, look who came running..''
''Does it look like I can run in these heels?'' Ino replied, eyeing Kiba from head to toe. ''Ugh, why is he with you?''
''Shut up Ino.'' Naruto grunted, not his cheerful self by any means.
''Ou.. someone's in a pissy mood..'' Her lips curved as she approached him. ''You just need to get laid...'' Her hand pressed flat against his chest. ''I could do you a favor,'' Glancing at Kiba, she winked. ''I'm sure Kiba wouldn't mind...''
Naruto could smell chips off her breath. ''No thanks.'' He muttered, pulling away from her. ''Hey.. have you heard from Sakura?''
''Changing the subject so fast?''
''Seriously.'' He demanded.
Ino sighed. ''She's at home, by beware...'' She warned, and linked arms with Kiba. ''Come on handsome... can't keep a girl waiting...'' She leaned over to kiss the corner of his lips before they departed with Naruto.
''Why do you want to know where Sakura is anyway?'' Ino asked as the three of them walked through the night, her heels clicking.. echoing off of large brick buildings. ''There's kind of a lot going on right now.'' Explaining this, she couldn't help but take notice of the pain on Naruto's face, he seemed detached from the current conversation. ''..Hello? Earth to Naruto..'' Waving a hand infront of his face, he blinked. ''You alright in there?''
His brow furrowed. ''She's been ignoring me all break.''
Her brow arched. ''Well that isn't like her.. I knew she had gone home..'' Sasuke popped into Ino's head. 'No.. she wouldn't.' She thought, chewing her bottom lip, Sasuke was history. ''I barely heard from her, so don't sweat it blondie.'' She stuck out her tongue. ''We all know how much you swoon over her.. maybe cut back abit.. and once she notices how little attention you're paying..'' She looked at Kiba, who was getting rather impatient. ''She will come running.'' Smiling at the doubtful Naruto, the two departed into Kiba's dorm, leaving Naruto solo. It's not like it would hurt him to go see her, would it? He stood still, debating the pros and cons.
''Nice night for a walk hm?''
Looking up, he noticed Kakashi walking, arms linked with a red-head. ''Oh hey Mr. Hatake..'' Naruto rubbed the back of his neck, feeling as if he were in trouble for walking the campus after hours. ''Yeah, kind of warm..'' He trailed off, eyeing the unfirmiliar woman.
''Oh, this is Rin..'' He trailed off. ''My friends girl.'' He chuckled. ''Obito got a little too intoxicated,'' He winked. ''If you know what I mean.''
Naruto shrugged. ''Uh.. yeah.'' He shoved his hands in his pockets, fiddling with his cell phone. ''Sure..''
''Are you taking my class this semester? I could use you.''
''No, next year.''
''Too bad.'' Kakashi grinned, Rin smiling at Naruto - she oddly reminded him of Sakura, just much older. ''I would have liked to see you in my class.'' His smile remained. ''Well, I better get you home, Rin.''
''Uh.. yeah, see you later. Nice to meet you Rin,'' Naruto mumbled, wandering past them, heading in the direction of Sakura's apartment - hoping she would be alone, she had to be alone, he needed to confront her.
--
1:32 AM
''..It's getting late...'' Temari mumbled, half a bottle of wine in. ''I should go back to my dorm.''
''Do you think Tenten will be there?''
She shrugged, pulling on her jacket while Sakura wandered out in Pajama's. And by Pajama's, just a long t-shirt.
''Heck if I know Sakura, she's probably gone on a drinking binge by now.. I know I would. Or you know, confronting Neji..'' Slipping on her shoes, she grabbed the half-empty wine bottle. ''Don't stay up too late,'' She winked, giggling. Becoming much nicer when alcohol was in her system.
''Are you sure you don't want me to walk you to your dorm?''
''I'm a grown woman.'' Temari laughed. ''No worrries -'' She opened the door, and standing there about to knock was Naruto. ''Oh- well.'' She glanced back at Sakura. ''Looks like you have company.'' Stumbling past him, Naruto's sad blue eyes met with green ones. Once the hall was empty, he stood in her door way. Silence fell.
''..Why haven't you contacted me?'' He asked, softly, absolutely defeated.
Sakura didn't answer, she just motioned for him to close the door.
He looked left, and right, and down - debating if it was a good idea, but he couldn't turn away now.. he needed to know. ''..Sakura?''
Again no answer, she bit her bottom lip, and stood there without a sound. This is how Hinata must of felt when Tenten confronted her. She'd been a horrible friend, just like Sakura had been to Naruto.
''So you have nothing to say..'' He trailed off, his heart felt broken. ''You lead me on for one night.....''
''..One night, and the next day nothing? Then all break... again ,nothing?'' He snapped, his temper rising, but he kept himself composed. ''What did I do to you?'' He asked, unable to stop the words from flowing. ''What did I ever do to you?''
''...Nothing..''
He looked at her, hopeful that she would say more - but she didn't. Her lips were sealed. Naruto wouldn't take no for an answer. ''Tell me.'' He demanded, but his tone was soft. Quiet. Sakura didn't move, she just stared at the ground, clenching her t-shirt.
''God damnit, tell me!''
She flinched, and swallowed. ''I c-can't.''
''Why the fuck not?'' He asked, stepping forward. ''I'm your best fucking friend. What's so damn secret that you can't tell me?'' He continued to lose his composure, but he still managed to keep his tone low.
''I just can't...'' Her body shook and so did her breathing. A lump appeared in her throat she continued to swallow to hold back tears, her lips trembling as she repeat herself. ''I just... can't..'' She mumbled, and closed her eyes, tears falling on the wood planks below her feet.
Naruto saw the tears, and he wandered over within a few seconds, not even a foot away. Within reaching distance. ''Please,'' He looked down at her. ''You can trust me,''
Placing a hand on her own, he pulled her into a hug; she couldn't deny how safe she felt - and calm. ''You'll hate me...'' She breathed, nuzzling her face into his broad chest. The firmiliar scent she knew all too well filling her senses.
''I couldn't hate you.''
''But you will.'' She said softly, trembling. ''You'll loathe me.'' She added, and this time he looked at her. Those bright blue eyes seemed dark in the dim of her apartment. The sun was set and gone, and the lights that were on were small. ''Tell me,''
