Author note: Iruka is a male dog, and since male dogs can’t have puppies in real life, the whole difficult having puppy’s issues is going to be an issue (how many male dogs do we all know of that had a single easy birth?), Second, I have had large breed dogs and seen large breed dogs only have one or two puppies, it’s not common, its rare, but it DOES happen, please do not bring your ‘know it all about male dog breeding’ (Because male dogs can’t really have puppies) lol. I do not want to sound rude, but I do not appreciate being told how much other people know about dogs, feel free to do a story like this one (Kakashi dog, Iruka dog), I encourage it do it your way, I am not trying to be mean. :)
~*~*~*~*Chapter 3~*~*~*~*
Kakashi watched as the brunette stormed out the front door, he let out a soft sigh closing his eyes, he’d heard the two fighting, and knew one or the other was going to leave, he would leave too if he’d ever had a fight with Iruka, sometimes distance helped clear the air after fighting.
Soft whimpers and whines caught his attention, Kakashi peeked his head around the corner looking into the living room, Iruka laid on the plush bed licking the small silver white puppy, then licking the small black and brown puppy, he wanted to investigate, but the fear of getting mauled by Iruka stopped him, that and whatever those tiny little fluff balls where, he feared they’d cause harm on him
“Kakashi stop hiding” the silver looked at the brown dog and shifted inching back, he didn’t want to get caught, he had heard of puppies, but never saw any until they were older, he had no idea what to expect, he really didn’t want to stress Iruka out, and he really didn’t want to see what those little beasts would do to him
“Kakashi… Come here” Iruka’s voice was tired, yet stern, and Kakashi knew better then to piss the other dog off, with a soft sigh he laid on his stomach and slowly began to inch himself into the room his ears low, Iruka watched the silver and began to laugh softly his tail swaying, Kakashi may have been one of the smartest dogs in the world, but he obviously had a weakness, he was scared of puppies
“It’s ok Kakashi they are harmless” Kakashi stopped beside the bed, his head resting on the pillow looking the puppies over, his body was tense, his eyes unmoving, staring, watching the puppies for any ‘attack’ Iruka leaned over licking the silver’s cheek
“see? Harmless” Kakashi continued to stare, watching the silver pup, a smaller mirror image of himself, his eye began to widen as he looked at Iruka
“Their mine?” Kakashi yelped jumping back lifting his paw to rub at his ear, he shook inching back from Iruka his tail low
“Of course they are yours! Who else would be the father!? You think I mated with someone else?!”
“I’m sorry Iruka! I’m sorry... Just… I never thought… I’d ever be a dad… Well… I mean…”
“Be a dad to pups you didn’t have to kill after?”
“Yea….” Iruka’s soft yet sad sigh made Kakashi look up, he knew it was hard on Iruka to hear anything about Kakashi’s fighting life, the poor brown dog had witnessed it all before, and Iruka did not agree with violence, but he understood, for Kakashi, it was the only way to survive in that world
“Come and see, Their your pups as much as they are mine” Kakashi hesitated, his ear still hurt where the brown had bitten him, but Iruka seemed clam, and less violent, so he inched over, slowly, sniffing the two pups, the black and brown made a soft whine hiding his face in Iruka’s stomach, the silver made soft growling noises, dragging his small body towards his father, Kakashi watched as the blind and deaf puppy nearly fell off the pillow, without thinking, the silver picked the pup up by the scruff and held him, he felt the pup curl up and relax
“For not being around pups ever in your life… you’re a good dad”
“Y-you think?” the small silver pup was placed beside his brother, both pups snuggled close to their mother their breathing even and slow, relaxed
“I know so” Kakashi laid his head down again onto the pillow, watching the two puppies sleep, they really were harmless, and Kakashi felt a sudden need to protect his pack, his family.
“Oh my god so cute!” both dogs looked towards the hall, Naruto stood there, camera in hand snapping pictures of the small furry family, Iruka chuckled softly licking the puppies softly, he knew it was almost feeding time for the pups, he smiled watching the pink nose of his lover turn a beat red, Kakashi was so easy to read sometimes

It was late, Naruto had thought he needed time alone to cool his head, but after a few hours of nothing but silence, he knew he needed at least some company, it wasn’t the first time he’d kicked Sasuke out of the house, but knowing those two men were out there, free, Naruto suddenly felt very nervous, he held the phone in his hand, he didn’t want to call Sakura, Neji and Gaara just had puppies a little while ago, Sakura was probably in ‘mommy’ mode with those puppies, so that left Kiba, which would have been perfect, then Yuudai could come home and sleep in his own bed, slowly Naruto dialled the number of his friends cell phone, he listened to it ring once, twice, three times.
“Hello?”
“Hey Kiba its me… Wanna come over?”
“Ah… You kicked Sasuke out?”
“HA! Like I’d only call you when I kick him out!”
“Uh huh… So… Where is Sasuke then”
“….. I got some coolers here with your name on it”
“I knew it… alright I’ll get the kid ready, we’ll be over there in a few minutes” with that the line went dead, Naruto let out a soft sigh closing his eyes, he placed the phone back down and slowly made his way to the living room, smiling softly at the scene in front of him, Kakashi was lying beside Iruka on the plush bed, with the two puppies sleeping in between their parents, Naruto felt his heart skip a beat, he was happy Iruka and Kakashi had puppies, But at the same time, he feared it, Kakashi was legally dead, or so the paper work stated, but how many silver dogs out there had one red eye? If Pain ever found out about the puppies.
Naruto shuddered at the thought, he didn’t want to think of the horrible things those men would do the puppies.
