Naruto slowly started to open his eyes and could see what looked like a ceiling, it looked very familiar but he then noticed that there was something heavy on his stomach. As his eyes began to adjust more to his surroundings he could then tell where he was and what the weight on his stomach was.
Looking down along his body rested the head of Tsunade, as he looked at her his eyes moved to her lips; they were so soft and very full. Ideas of them being pressed around his dick filled his mind, it was then he noticed there was some red around her eyes hinting that she had been crying and he knew exactly why.
From the looks of how her head was resting on him, it couldn’t have been very comfortable. He reached and pulled out the second pillow that was behind his head, being ever so careful he lifted her head up and slid the pillow under her.
After a few moments she started to relax more into the pillow, so much so that she actually started to smile, then her head suddenly shot up off the pillow as she looked around in confusion, she had been comfortable, she was never comfortable.
Naruto waited for her to collect herself and when she looked at him she first smiled, then it quickly started to fade, clearly remembering why they were both in the hospital room.
“So what’s the prognosis Obaa … I mean Tsunade, were you able to remove the poison? It doesn’t feel like it but that could just be because I’m recovering from it, so what’s the deal?”
Tsunade looked at him in utter shock, the expression clear that she couldn’t believe that Naruto was able to be so calm. She had heard the reports from Kakashi and the others as well as from Akio and the other Dragon ninja, but she had to see it to believe it, even still she couldn’t, something in Naruto had changed.
She slowly stood up and pulled down the left shoulder of Naruto’s hospital gown, stuck to his shoulder was a steal tag, it was locked to his body and under it was the same purple spider web in his veins, only it was now twice the size it was when he last saw it.
“We couldn’t remove the poison Naruto, if it hadn’t been for Bishamon’s medical skills and Akio’s sealing ability, you would be dead by now, this poison was made just for you Naruto.
Someone tried to assassinate you with a Chakra based poison, it will only kill you and the Kyuubi. Akio said he may have some leads on it but he will have to check up on them.
Kaemon, one of the other Dragon ninja, said he might have a way to remove the poison, but he also needs to check some things first, but ultimately he thinks it will work.”
Tears started to fall from her eyes then, she couldn’t even look at him right now, if she did, she would break out in a full outfit of tears.
“Then there’s nothing to worry about, they will cure me and everything will be back to normal, just like any other day.” Naruto’s voice was devoid of any emotion, as if what she just said didn’t matter at all.
“What the hell is wrong with you Naruto?” Tsunade demanded angrily. “You have been in the hospital for three days already, you almost died twice. And to make matters worse, that seal can’t stop the poison, it’s only slowed it. If Kaemon can’t find out a way to remove it, you will die. There is nothing that any of us, including myself, can do to stop it.”
Tears were now streaming out full force from her eyes.
The look on Naruto’s face revealed the feeling of guilt well up deep inside him, he reached out and hugged her, and there were so many things they wanted to say, so many more things that couldn’t be said.
“I’m sorry Obaa-Chan, but these are the lives we live as Shinobi, we get hurt, we get killed, things happen that we wish didn’t. Even if the things we want the most, more than anything else, the things that we always figured we could have, only to have some book state you can’t have any of it.” Naruto mumbled the last part to himself.
Tsunade then pulled herself from him; she locked her eyes with his as a stern look replaced her tears.
“What book Naruto?”
It was his turn to look away from her, the moment he did she grabbed his chin and forced him to look at her.
“Your Hokage asked you a question mister, you will answer it now!”
Try as she might, Tsunade wasn’t scaring him at all. She could tell that whatever book it was that he was talking about, it had to have a good source or he would have simply laughed at it, make jokes, but even then he probably would have checked into it just to be sure.
Just then Shizune burst into the room seeing both Naruto and Tsunade looking at each other, the air with thick with a stern yet very worried atmosphere and by the look on Naruto’s face, it wasn’t from him.
“Excuse me Hokage-Sama,” Shizune began. “Pardon the interruption but Akio would like to speak to you. He said that he has information that you might find interesting and yet very disturbing, he wouldn’t say anything else.”
Tsunade slowly stood up not taking her eyes off Naruto, her eyes now filled with sadness, looking at this young man who used to be so lively so full of energy and a smile on his face that was more infectious than some of the worst sicknesses she had ever encountered.
She then started to head for the door.
“Obaa-Chan” Naruto called out, forcing her to stop and looked back at him, his eyes not looking at anything as he stared off into the blanket that was on him.
“If there isn’t anything that you can do to stop it any more than what it is, I will be leaving the hospital. I’m sure there is someone else that could put this bed to better use than I can.”
“You can’t be serious, you almost died twice Naruto.” Shizune started, but Tsunade silenced her with a sad look, and then turned back to Naruto.
“I want you to stay the night for observation, to see how the poison seal holds, after that you’re free to leave in the morning.” Tsunade replied sternly
Shizune was speechless, she was again about to protest, but the sad look on Tsunade’s face told her that she didn’t like it ether. However this was Naruto, if he really wanted to leave he would no matter what anyone said to him.
Both of them left the room and started to walk down the halls, Tsunade looked at a wall clock then headed towards the lunchroom, even though it was still at least two hours before noon.
Sitting by herself in her nurse’s outfit was Sakura, silently picking at a bowl of rice, just by looking at her face it was clear she was deep in thought but when she saw Tsunade it lit right up.
“Tsunade-Sama how is Naruto?” Sakura asked in a concerned tone. “I haven’t had a chance to see him with everything that’s been going on, I’ve read the reports but….”
“Sakura I want you to be very honest with me, no matter how uncomfortable it may be I need you to answer my questions.” Tsunade interrupted sounding serious. “This is very important because Naruto’s life is on the line.”
“Yes Tsunade-Sama, I understand.”
“First I need you to tell me, exactly how you feel about Naruto. What does he mean to you and what would you be prepared to do for him?”
Sakura looked down at her bowl of rice for a moment to consider what she figured was just the first of many questions.
“He does mean a lot to me, he’s someone special and dependable.” Sakura began with an air of confidence. “Someone that you could always count on to bring a smile to your face even if he did act like an idiot to do it, at least that’s how he used to be.”
“I guess I should have just come out and asked it.” Tsunade admitted rubbing her head. “Sakura I want to know if you love Naruto, romantically with all the ups and downs that come with it, could you see being his girlfriend or wife, do you have that kind of love for him.”
Sakura sat there for a moment with a slight blush on her face.
“I do love him, but I don’t know if he loves me anymore, he stopped trying to ask me out on dates or even just for lunch.” The green-eyed shinobi admitted quietly. “And it wasn’t slowly it just suddenly stopped so I don’t know if he still feels that way for me.”
“Why wouldn’t he still feel that way for you? Things have been busy around here, has any thing happened that you can think of that would cause him to stop loving you?”
“Yes there might be something. Before the war started, I told Naruto to stop chasing after Sasuke and I had to lie to him, to try and convince him to stop, I said I loved him and always had, but he was able to see through it. Knowing that he loved me I used it against him.” Sakura paused somewhat embarrassed.
“He didn’t take to it too well, I actually feel really bad for doing that to him, regardless of what happened with Sasuke. Even still, I do wonder about it.”
”Wait, you said he just suddenly stopped asking you out didn’t you?” Shizune said while looking through a folder that was in her hands.
“Yeah it was about two weeks ago, at first I thought that it might have been because he was learning some Jutsu or something from the scrolls that he got from Jiraiya in his will, but he never said anything about learning them and if he did he would have been showing them off and going on about how great he was for doing that all on his own or something.”
Shizune continued to go through the folder until she found a report from Kakashi himself.
“Tsunade-Sama, Kakashi also made a comment about Naruto-kun’s attitude changing in that same time frame. That Naruto seemed to be lost in his thoughts and that even during training with him and Yamato; it was like the training didn’t matter, like a part of him had died.
I was going to question him about his meaning but I didn’t see it as a high priority at the moment.”
Tsunade then slammed the palm of her hand on the table.
“That does it, Sakura I want you to be the one that will extract the information from Naruto, in his current state he can’t be intimidated. He’s already accepted that he’s going to be a dead man, so you’re going to have to use other methods.”
“What kind of methods Tsunade-Sama?” Sakura asked worried about the answer.
“Because it is Naruto, you’re going to have to see him and play nice, talk to him like you would any other day and see what you can find out. Other than that the only other way that I think you could get him to talk would be to seduce him.” Tsunade answered sounding serious.
“As you said you knew that he has loved you for a long time, finally having the woman of his dreams come on to him, he should just melt in your hands. That’s why I was asking you if you love him because I don’t want you to do anything that would put the two of you at odds if it turned out you didn’t; besides I think the both of you could use it.”
Tsunade finished her explanation with a wink causing Sakura’s blush to deepen even more.
“Look Sakura, we have to find out what happened to change him, when someone accepts that they will die tomorrow, they will find a way to make it happen. For whatever reason Naruto has lost all his hope for life, I want to know why and will be setting up an investigation into the matter.” Tsunade then stood up and left Sakura to think over what had been discussed.
After quickly finishing what remained of her lunch, Sakura quickly ran to the door of Naruto’s room. She took several deep breaths trying to get her courage up as she then undid three of her top buttons to reveal some of her cleavage knowing the pervert that Naruto was, he probably wouldn’t be able to take his eyes off them.
As Sakura walked in she could see that he was sitting up and staring into his lap. Even as the door closed he didn’t look up, his depression was radiating off of him like a cloud.
‘This might be harder than I thought.’ Sakura told herself.
Still as she made her way towards his bed he still didn’t look at her, she then leaned towards him making sure that her breasts were at his eye level as she then placed a hand on his forehead as if to take his temperature.
“Hey Naruto, how are you feeling?” Sakura asked trying to sound nonchalant and cheerful. “You’re looking a lot better than you were when we got back home, sorry I haven’t come in to see you sooner but you know how it can get.”
Naruto slowly turned his head to be greeted by a full view of the top of her breasts; he looked at them for a moment, and then looked away with a small smile and a slight blush on his face. Sakura knew he saw them and was probably thinking some dirty thoughts about her right now.
But then just as quickly his smile faded and he closed his eyes, his face then became a frown as it was again clear he was fighting his emotions back, making sure they didn’t come out.
Seeing this Sakura decided to take the preverbal gloves off as she then began to pretend to be checking his vitals, she began to move her hands along his muscles in his arms, feeling how thick they were.
It was now her turn to blush as dirty thoughts entered her mind, thoughts of him on top of her with his big strong arms around her, holding her close to him against his very well toned chest.
Sakura was now starting to get excited herself as she began to feel her crotch start to tingle with heat. She hadn’t had any one yet, but just by feeling his body, she knew she wanted him inside her.
“Wow Naruto, you’re more defined than I thought you were, you don’t have the huge monstrous muscles like some people, but yours are denser making them stronger, just the kind of arms that someone could really feel safe and secure in.”
Naruto’s head quickly turned to her, another smile appearing on his face from Sakura making that comment, his eyes lit up but then as if he just remembered something the smile faded and he looked away from her.
This was now starting to piss her off, she was leaving so many openings for him to say something, to do something and every time she did, he almost exploded with joy but then, he would get depressed again, there was just one more thing for her to try.
Sakura turned around and bent over a chair adjusting one of her shoes, prompting her ass out to towards Naruto, all the while humming a little tune and swaying her ass from side to side hoping he would say or try something.
Looking at the reflection in the waxed floor of the new hospital, she could see that he was indeed noticing, but she then noticed his face scrunched up as he fought not to cry.
Sakura quickly turned to see that he was indeed fighting it but he was losing as tears started to fall from his eyes, he was at least able to keep his sobs silent.
“Oh my god Naruto, what’s wrong I didn’t mean to upset you. I’m so sorry Naruto.” Sakura apologized
Sakura then began to hug him, bringing him as close to her as she could trying to comfort him, at first he accepted her embrace then slowly pushed her back.
“I’m sorry Sakura-Chan, it’s not anything that you did, but could you please just leave, I would really rather just be alone.” Naruto said through light sobs.
“I’m sorry Naruto, but wouldn’t you rather talk about it?” Sakura said with a hint of hope in her voice.
“Talking won’t change it.” Naruto muttered under his breath.
“What’s wrong Naruto, we’ve known each other for how long? You can tell me it’s ok.”
“Please just go Sakura; I just can’t do it right now.”
“But Naruto...”
Sakura tried to protest as Naruto pressed the call button, soon another Nurse came in.
“I’m not feeling very well and would like her to leave but she won’t go.”
Sakura was shocked that Naruto of all people would do something like that to her; she couldn’t help but feel hurt because of it, as hospital policy stated. Sakura had no choice but to leave his room. As she did she began to cry herself, looking back at him as he looked out the window, she could tell that he was crying again, only this time it was because she knew he just hurt her.
When the doors closed, he let it out; he buried his face in his hands as he cried out his pain. Someone that was so close to him that he wanted more than anything to love him was right there, almost throwing herself at him, but he still couldn’t have her, he never could.
Not her, not any one, he was destined to be alone.
Standing outside Naruto’s window, Kakashi was waiting and listening, it hurt him to hear what Naruto did because he also knew how much Naruto wanted to be with Sakura. To hear him push her away like that was something he never thought Naruto would do.
A few hours later, after Naruto had cried out all his tears and collected himself, there came a knock on the door, but Naruto did not answer, hoping the person would leave but instead the person just walked right in.
Standing there was Bishamon; he stood defiantly tall and proud yet not very happy as he looked down on Naruto in his bed.
He closed the door and took a seat next to Naruto.
“Do you know what a life debt is Naruto-san?” Bishamon asked. “It is just as it sounds, I owe you my life because you saved it, and as such I am bound by my honour as a warrior to protect you with my life. Do you know what happens if I fail to do so? I am also bound by my honour to take my own life.”
Naruto looked at Bishamon stunned by what he just heard.
Bishamon then drew his Katana and forced Naruto to hold it.
“If you have every intention to die, then you must kill me now on this spot. I have no wish to die yet but if my Honour is at stake then I accept it. If you are too much of a coward to do so then I will do it in front of you, I will make you watch as my life ends for my honour.
Now tell me, do you wish to live or have you give up all hope on life its self, because if you decide on death then I will be there to greet you and I will take great joy in kicking your ass for all eternity because of your cowardness.
Do you wish to die or do you wish to live and show the world that it can never defeat you, no matter how many times it may try, that you Uzumaki Naruto are going to get back up and face it head on.”
Naruto began to collect his thoughts on what Bishamon said as anger started to set in him.
“What the hell do you think? I don’t want to die any more than anyone else!” Naruto answered passionately. “But what’s the point in life if you can’t have the things that you want, the things that you need more than anything? A life alone isn’t a life at all and I know because I had one for years, but even now surrounded by friends and people that I care about, I’m still alone.”
Naruto paused and sighed
“Bishamon I don’t know what to do. Do I confess everything only to have people pity me, trying in vain to help me? Or do I say nothing and leave everyone else to live their lives thinking that everything is fine, so that they can be happy?
What do I do Bishamon? Tell me I really want to know what it is that I’m supposed to do.”
Once again Naruto was crying, Bishamon standing there not having expected this kind of a reaction from the young man lowered his head as he thought on what was said.
“Sometimes the only thing you can do my friend, is trust in your friends, trust that they will do everything they can to help you not because they pity you, but because they love you and want you to be just as happy as you want them to be.” He finally replied.
“My brothers and sisters are always there for me, they are all a part of my foundation my support. If one of them was in pain then so am I because they are my brothers and sister and when they hurt so do I, once again if you wish to talk I will be there for you Naruto-san just as the others are.”
With that said Bishamon left the room as he sheathed his Katana. Waiting outside of the room were Tsunade, Shizune, Sakura, Akio and Kakashi waiting on his report.
“Naruto’s problem, whatever it is, is a very personal thing for him. If I was to make a guess I would say that one of his dreams, his biggest dream, has been denied to him by something. He has no wish to simply die, but without this dream of his, he feels that his life will be empty and have no meaning to him.”
“His dream of becoming Hokage is pretty big and important to him,” Shizune said while taking notes. “However no one can simply deny it to him, it’s all done by a vote system, so what is his other dream?”
“That’s just his dream to be recognized,” Kakashi corrected as he looked at the door to Naruto’s room, a hint of sadness in his voice. “Naruto has another dream for something, something that he’s never had, a dream to finally have a family that will love him. As a child he wanted a mother and father to love him, now as an adult he wants to have a wife and children of his own, so whatever he has found out, has taken that dream from him.”
Later that evening, Shion was staying in a guest building next to the new Hokage tower, both looked more like a small feudal manor but the Hokage tower was at least two or three times bigger than the old one, the second building was well equipped with everything a person of importance would need.
Shion was sitting at a small table holding Michio, as there was no family here and no one to care for him, wanting children herself it was the perfect chance to get some experience in.
Tsunade sat beside her and across from them were the two Dragon ninja leaders, Akio the unit leader and Akako. Her dark green eyes under her white mask showed that she was not someone to mess with, though she could be gentle, she would come down on an enemy like a ton of bricks.
“I want your report on the village, the people, of Naruto and I want full details of everything that you know and suspect.” Shion said as she started to cradle Michio in her arms trying to get him to sleep.
“The village is progressing rather well, reconstruction is their main task and many of the allies of the Leaf village are backing them up in the reconstruction efforts. Its people are a proud group and they will not stay down, they can rebuild and they will, it is an admirable quality in them.
Naruto is another story, his spirit has been crushed and something he wants more than anything other than becoming Hokage may have been taken from him. It is our suspicion that it may have been the ability to have a family, through what means we do not know.” Akio said while also looking at the child.
“Do you mean that his body was injured in a way physically preventing him from being able to be a father?” Shion asked hoping that was not the case, as she wanted personal experience with that part of his body herself.
“That’s not possible, I have his medical records and have examined him myself, both before and after his return, and his body is fully functional in that department.” Tsunade answered
“When I was watching over him last night I feel asleep, when I woke up he had made a mention to a book, we are looking into it as we speak.
I think Bishamon is helping Kakashi look through Naruto’s tent for the book, surprisingly he has more than anyone would have thought.”
“If I was to guess, though I have nothing to support it, there may be something related to the Kyuubi sealed inside him. Being its Jinchuuriki might be playing a role in this, even though countless Jinchuuriki have had children in the past.
There may be something that is unique to his situation, it could be the seal design, the fact that he has been exposed to and has mastered sage powers or a number of joint situations that have come together.
Whatever the case may be, regardless of if we can remove the poison from his body or not, it may make little difference to Naruto. As it’s said, when ones spirit is dead, the body can only soon follow and he will find a way to let it happen like so many others have.” Akako said with a little anger in her voice.
“Akio you also had information for me on the poison that was used on Naruto, so what can you tell me about it or the ones that have used it.” Tsunade said leaning closer to the dragon ninja.
“Yes there is something, I wanted Shion here because she is just as much at risk as are many others. I am sure that you have heard stories in several other countries in the past where they exterminated entire clans and villages that had people with bloodline limits, it has gotten worse.
It is no longer a simple minority of people that don’t want it in their country; it has become a full out cult for lack of a better word. Konoha is a perfect target for them because of your current state.
They seek to kill any and all that have a bloodline ability but also, they seek to kill the Jinchuuriki and the beasts in them, by collecting samples of their Chakra, they can create a poison that will only kill that person and the beast inside them.
It’s a two for one deal, as the Jinchuuriki have increased abilities and endurance. They feel that just like the bloodline limits, these people are also monsters and nothing else, meaning they also seek to kill my brothers and sisters.
You’re Hyuuga clan is also a target for them as would the Uchiha clan if they still existed. They have no problems poisoning an entire village’s water supply just to kill a minority in a large populace.
They have done so in the past, the arrow that struck Naruto was a poisoned arrow and we have dealt with that kind of poison many times.
But there are some risks, it will take my entire team to perform this Jutsu, Naruto will have to be forcefully restrained, his mind and body will also be put under a great strain as we will have to make his Chakra boil in his body, it hurts like a nothing you ever want to experience and then there is the privacy issue.
To make sure that it is done correctly, Naruto and I will have to be linked on a telepathic level to make sure that the right amount of force is used, but should we fail, both Naruto and I will die, but if we do nothing, he will die any ways.”
Tsunade thought about everything she had heard for a few moments then summoned one of her ANBU agents.
“Post guards around all our drinking water, have it constantly tested for poisons, do the same with all our food supplies and increase the patrols both inside and outside, any one suspicious found is to be detained by any means necessary.”
The ANBU agent then quickly vanished in a puff of smoke.
“You also said that there was concern about me as well, could you explain more?” Shion asked as she started to coo the child in her arms.
“Yes Priestess, many would consider the powers that you have to be a kind of bloodline limit just like these clans.” Akio replied.
“Your mother had the powers, as did hers and so on, because the everyday man or woman does not have them, this cult wants you just as dead as they want Naruto and the other bloodline limits.
I personally recommend that you be prepared to defend yourself, as well as having you’re guards and some Konoha guards by your side at all times. And excuse the suggestion, but even when you are bathing, you should not be alone.”
Shion started to blush at the idea of someone watching her while she took a bath, even her own guards never saw her when she was bathing. The only person she ever thought about letting see her like that was Naruto, but this was different.
Soon another ANBU agent appeared this one was a woman with long purple hair.
“I need you to provide close personal protection over the Priestess, we may have intruders that will try to kill her if they have the chance to, pick five other female ANBU to guard her on rotations, In total I want at least four to be close to her at all times till I state otherwise.
Akio I would like to personally thank you for this information, but why has none of this been brought to light to any of the other nations or villages until now?” Tsunade asked in puzzlement.
“Because until now, this war of ours was contained to only us, typically this cult had only come after us because we were the stronger and more powerful of the monsters as they call us, but their tactics have changed.” Akako answered
“At first they were only targeting my brothers and sisters directly, but now they have changed to indirect attacks, attacking civilians and other places to draw us out, but as always our battles have ended the same as six five man cells are dispatched to stop them.
If we cannot capture them then we will kill them because they hold no bars on killing civilians, they give no mercy nor shall they receive any.”
“I have one more question about the Jutsu that will be used on Naruto, you said that his mind will be under strain as well. What exactly did you mean, and how will you boil his Chakra?”
“Using myself as a type of control system, I will be living every moment in Naruto’s life and I will then filter them by the amount of pain he has suffered forcing him to relive his most painful memories. With this Jutsu the effect on him will be even more powerful, the personal pain that he will feel will be twice if not three times stronger than what he felt when it happened.
Naruto may lose his mind to madness if something goes wrong.”
