Orishi sat across the oak desk from Tsunade, staring intently into her eyes; making her just a little unnerved. “I trust that I have been called here for a good reason?” he asked.

“Yes, you were, and would you please stop looking at me like that… it’s creeping me out.” Tsunade said looking away “I swear, you’re as bad as the damn Uchiha.”

“Fine, but I would like to know why I’m here…” Orishi said.

“Well, I figured that since you are being allowed to stay in this village, you might wish to join it’s ranks of shinobi, officially, but as I said, I’m not just going to give you a rank. You are going to have to take all of the exams, starting with the Academy exam. Then you will progress normally through the ranks, starting with a genin team.”

The Houzen let a slight groan escape his lips, “Are you trying to humiliate me? I’m almost seventeen…”

“And your point is?” the Hokage asked, not letting any sympathy show, “You are technically an untrained civilian who has the potential to be a great shinobi, but in order to harness that potential, you must have proper training.”

Orishi glared at Tsunade, “You have to be kidding me… I am going to die of humiliation… those exams are for children.”

“As far as shinobi training is concerned, you are a child.”

Orishi humphed “fine… now I have something to talk to you about… when will I be able to venture outside of this village to where my family was staying?”

“That is the fifth time you’ve asked me in the last week… what is so damn important about going back there… we’ve already sent a team and they said that your family’s bodies are destroyed beyond recognition, it wouldn’t be wise for you to go see them.”

Orishi bit his lip and looked as if he was seriously debating something within his head, “It would benefit me to go get stuff that I need from out shelters.”

Tsunade growled “And what is so god damned important that you can’t get it from here? The team also surveyed the shelters, there wasn’t anything of any value, they had been pillaged.”

Orishi glared “If we were able to seal away a whole house that no one could find it, you don’t think we could hide our sentimental objects… but I’m not after those.”

“Then what could you possibly need to leave here for?”

Orishi sighs “If I tell you a personal secret, do you swear it goes no further than these walls?”

Tsunade sighs “I can’t promise that, if it jeopardizes the safety of this village it has to be handled accordingly.”

Orishi glares “It’s no danger to this village, it’s a personal danger… I’m… not completely mentally healthy…”

Tsunade’s eyes widened, “Explain.”

Orishi sighs “That reaction is exactly why I keep this a secret.”

“Well, how can you expect to be a trustable ninja if you’re constantly dealing with a mental illness… you could snap at any moment and kill senselessly… WHY WOULD YOU KEEP THAT SECRET!!!!!”

Orishi slammed his fists down on the desk “STOP FUCKING OVERREACTING!!!” he quickly took a deep breath, “It’s not that serious. I can easily manage it, I just… need my pills, which the supply I brought with me to the village is soon to run out.”

“What is your disorder exactly then?” Tsunade asked.

“I’m bipolar.”

“Oh… that’s not that bad.”

Orishi sighed “No, it’s not, it’s more of a burden on me than anyone else.”

“So, you’re in need of your medications from your home?” Tsunade asked slowly.

Orishi nodded, “Yes, I, that and a few other medications, that I REFUSE to talk to you about at this time” he said as he gave her a glare telling her not to push it, “and the scrolls on how to make those medications… they’re specifically tailored for my body.”

Tsunade sighed “So, if you don’t get your medicines… what could happen?”

“Well, depends on just how my mood swings go. I could become so depressed that I can barely function, or I could get so damn hyper that I might, possibly, lose control of my chakra, which would be bad.”

Tsunade nodded “Of course that would be bad.”

“Anyways, I also need to find scrolls about other techniques. With the Sound still at large, and their summoned snakes a constant menace, I think you would like to know that we have a tag that can dissipate most low-level summons.”

Tsunade’s eyebrows arched higher “Really? How did you manage that?”

Orishi shrugs “We’re not called the warrior priests for nothing. We are very good at what we do… well, did.”

Tsunade nodded “Very well, I’ll assemble a team to escort you back to the site, you’ll be able to bring back as much as you need, but I want all scrolls with techniques on them brought back… I won’t force you to show them to me if they’re family secrets, but I want them available should we ever need them. We never know what we’re dealing with when we are against Orochimaru. The team should be ready tomorrow to take you, then I want you resting for the academy exam, it’s in a week.”

Orishi growled at being reminded of just how much humiliation he’d have to go through later on “Why should I have to rest, I’m sure I can pass that test with my eyes closed… I did single handedly take down twenty sound-nin.”

Tsunade nods “true… but what else are you gonna do? It’s not like I can give you any missions.”

Ori sighs “fine, I’ll rest and work on making potions… am I at least to reopen the potions and perfumes shop my family ran before they disappeared?”

Tsunade sighed “Fine, I can allow that, but no selling poisons to the general public. Yes, I’ve read the files on your family, and I know that you all use poisons to every possible advantage.”

Orishi sighed “Yes I know very well the penalties for giving deadly poisons to non-shinobi personnel. However, since you brought up poisons, I assume that you’ll want me to help supply you with some of the family specialty?”

Tsunade shrugged “If your family’s record is any indication of your skill, then yes.”

Orishi nodded “Very well, may I go now?”

Tsunade waved a hand dismissing him.

Sakura grinned at Ino “This will be perfect, we can get the new guy, what’s his name again..?”

Ino rolled her eyes “Oi, with a forehead like that, you’d think you could at least remember his name, it’s Orishi.”

“Oh yeah, anyways, this party should be just the thing I need to seduce Orishi and make him mine.”

“HEY!!! Who says he’ll be yours?” Ino shouted.

“Simple, I am the most beautiful and womanly, obviously he’ll fall for me in an instant, plus I was the one who attempted to save his life in the woods.”

“FOREHEAD!!! I have just as much of a chance of winning his heart as you.”

“Oh, Ino-Pig, your fantasies are so amusing.” Sakura said with a dreamy tone in her voice as she noticed Orishi being dragged around the village by Naruto. “Come on, it’s time to set our plan into motion!!!” The two kunoichi ran out of the little café where they had been scheming and plotting. “Ohhh Naruto!!!!” Sakura called out.

Naruto turned around “uhh, OH!!! Hey Sakura, Ino, what’s up?”

“We’re having a welcome to Konoha party for your friend, Orishi, there, but it won’t be much of a party if the guest of honor isn’t there. So I was hoping you would make sure he showed up at Ino’s house tonight?”

Orishi shrugged “Not really interested in a party, plus I have something to do tomorrow.”

“Oh, but Ori-chan, you have to come, it’ll be so much fun!!!” Ino pleaded. “We’ll eat, drink, and just be merry.”

“I don’t drink and merry is overrated.” Orishi replied dryly, looking at the two with half closed eyes.

Sakura and Ino pouted “Please?” they said in unison.

“Don’t worry, he’ll be there.” Naruto said “Believe it.”

The two girls squealed their happiness and ran off.

Orishi glared at Naruto “I really don’t like you right now.”

Naruto laughed “Cheer up, those two girls throw a killer party, you’ll have fun. Besides, all you’ve been doing is meditating and studying ever since you got here. That’s no fun.”

Orishi looked at Naruto “I’m not going to win this argument am i?”

“Nope, and you’re also going to partake in every activity enjoyed at that party, even gonna have a drink or two.”

“I DON’T DRINK!!!” Orishi snapped, “So I will go to the damn party, but you will not make me drink.” He continued ‘I really don’t feel like everyone finding out what happens when I have the slightest amount of alcohol.’

“Oi, no need to yell, I won’t make you drink then.” Naruto said.

“Okay then, I guess I’ll go to the damn party, but don’t expect me to be very lively. Other than members of my family, I’ve never really interacted with people.”

Naruto stared “I guess living in the woods can do that huh?” Orishi just nodded. “Well, don’t worry, cause my friends are awesome, and you’ll fit right in!!!”

Orishi sighed “Thanks, but I don’t have anything to wear. I mean, I bought some basic clothes since I’ve been here with the little money I brought with me in my battle pouch, but all the real family fortune is either still out in the woods or sealed away in what used to be out house.”

Naruto looked at Orishi “hmm, we’re about the same size, I’m sure I can find you something in my closet.”

Orishi smiled “Thanks.”

Naruto laughs “Okay, now come on, we have to go convince emo-bastard to come partying with us too; that should take the rest of the afternoon.”

Orishi nodded and ran off with Naruto across Konoha.

From around a corner walked Sai, a creepy smile once again on his face. ‘A party huh? What a wonderful chance to seduce the Houzen and make him mine.’ With a dark chuckle he turned around and headed off to his apartment.

That evening, at Ino’s party, everyone was having a good time, even Orishi, though he didn’t show it. Orishi was sitting in the corner watching the festivities, despite the urgings of all attendants. Everyone had shown up, there was all of the Rookie 9 and Team Gai along with Sai, then to top it all off the siblings of the sand had shown up. The only one who was missing at the moment was Kiba, but he was expected to get back from his day’s mission any minute now. Shikamaru and Temari were sitting in the other corner, playing Shouji. Ino and Sakura was sitting in the kitchen speaking among themselves, which made Orishi very uncomfortable for some reason. Of course, Naruto was the life of the party, bouncing around and speaking to everyone while Sasuke kept a close, if not somewhat jealous eye on him. The big surprise was that Hinata was actually speaking, to Gaara of all people. Really the party was just starting up while people waited for the last guest to arrive, but it was all good because the booze was freely flowing.

“Okay everyone, the fun has arrived.” Came a boisterous voice as the door flew open “Let the party commence.” Kiba said as he stepped in. He scanned the gathered guests and his eyes stopped the minute they gazed upon Orishi.

“DOG BREATH!!!” Naruto exclaimed as he ran over to Kiba “’bout time you got your lazy ass here.”

“Yeah yeah,” Kiba half heartedly responded, grabbing Naruto “Who’s that?” he asked motioning over at Orishi.

“OH!!! That’s Orishi… the new guy.”

“Really? He’s cute..” Kiba says

“heh heh, I haven’t noticed, but I don’t know if you wanna try that, he doesn’t seem to be too sociable.” Naruto says.

“Maybe he just hasn’t met anyone worth talking to.” Kiba says “Yeah, maybe.” Naruto shrugs.

Just as Kiba was about to go over and speak to the mystery man, Sakura and Ino emerged from the kitchen with a bottle “Okay everyone!!! Time for a game.” Ino called.

“Yeah yeah, we’re gonna play seven minutes in heaven.” Sakura said, both girls getting an evil gleam in their eyes whil looking at Orishi. Orishi slid over to Naruto “Should I be afraid?” Naruto just nodded.

Orishi sighed and almost regretted the question before he said it “what exactly is seven minutes in heaven?” “Easy” Sakura said “you simply spin the bottle and whoever it lands on, you have to go in the closet with them for seven minutes and you two can do whatever you want.”

Orishi stared “sounds… juvenile.”

“It is.” Sasuke said.

Sakura glared at Sasuke “SHUT UP!!! It’s Ino’s party and she says we play Seven Minutes in Heaven, so we’re playing.”

Everyone simply sighed realizing their undeniable fates and sat around in a circle. “okay, so the way this works is I’ll spin the bottle and whoever it lands on will go first, then the person to their right will go and so on and so forth.” Ino said then spun the bottle, it landing on Sai. Sai grinned and spun the bottle, using chakra to control it so it landed on Orishi. “Score.”

Orishi sighed “And I’m absolutely required to go in there with him?” Ten Ten grinned “YES!!! That would be so hot!!” Orishi just shrugged and got up, following Sai to the closet. “Touch me and you will pay.” he said once they got in there. Sai grinned and just started to try to corner Orishi in the closet only to quickly be pricked by three senbon and have his legs give out from under him. He glared up at Orishi with a look to say ‘what the hell’ Orishi grinned “instant paralytic, I’ll give you the antidote when they let us out of here.”

Once their time had expired Orishi hit Sai with three more senbon and quickly made his way back to the circle. Kiba laughed “HAHA Sai, did the little guy turn you down?” Sai shot Kiba a look of death and quickly sat down ‘He’ll be mine eventually’

Kiba snatched the bottle up as soon as they all sat down and quickly spun it, it landing on Orishi again, this time by total chance. Naruto laughed “Haha, look, Orishi is really popular tonight.” Orishi just shot him a dirty look then looked at Kiba “well… at least this one isn’t creepy.” He said and got back up, heading to the closet “I shouldn’t have to poison him.”

Sai glared at Kiba’s back with daggers as they both disappeared from view behind the door.

Orishi looked at Kiba ‘he is kinda cute… but I can’t let him know I think that.’ “so… uhm.” “oh, we don’t have to do anything, we can just talk if you want to.” Orishi smiled at Kiba “I think I’d like that.” Kiba felt the need to cover his nose at the smile but nodded.

As their time was drawing to a close Orishi looked at Kiba and smiled again “I think for being such a gentleman, you deserve this.” He said leaning over to the taller man and giving him a chaste kiss on the lips. “Well, it’s been nice, but I think it’s time to go.” With that he walked out of the closet with a light blush on his cheeks and sat in the circle.

Sai was beside himself with fury as they returned, playing through his head everything that could have brought the flushed color to his love’s cheeks.

The next day found Kiba, Sai, Sasuke, and Naruto escorting Orishi to the cave system where the Houzen clan had made their homes. He quickly collected everything that he might need and sealed the caves so that no one other than a Houzen could enter. The last thing he did was leave a note encoded in the family method instructing them that if they found it they were to return to Konoha and live there; the clan was returning. With one last look over the place he had called home for all of his life, Orishi turned and made his way to Konoha, his new home.
